Benjamin caught in and put it back in his jacket. "Street races? Yeah. Only some of our members can get involved though, Harleys ain't meant for that treatment... Scream might do it if you broached it to her. I think I'll settle for those donation rallys when we get enough members to roll though main street on our bikes." Benjamin said, grinning and taking another drag.

"Doyle, I meant to ask, you been in any clubs before this one?"

"Stretch, not street," Doyle shook his head and emphasized, grinning wider.

"Clubs, eh? Expectin' the past to come creepin'?" The cigarette burned, "Stretch, a place across the other seas, where the rocks are the roads an' the roads are the rocks."

Rayan took another puff. "'Sup, clubs?"

"Oh. Sounds interesting. I'll have to check it out." Benjamin replied, shaking his head at his foolishness.

"I expect a lot than the past, having a bit of trouble with WCPD lately, we need to scare them, make them think twice about fucking with us. Cut off some heads and mount em' outside their building will be a fine tactic." Benjamin took another puff

"You prepared to fight the law, Doyle?"

Doyle looked to the sky, grin frozen in place but somehow less enthusiastic than before. The WCPD were law in Wing City, that was for sure as of late. Couldn't remember exactly when it happened, for it was often Doyle took trips elsewhere. Looking out towards the sea, Doyle imagined the great Wing City. Imagined scenes of cops swarming car bombs, dirty bars and shady deals, beautiful fountains stained with blood. Glass towers pierced the clouds, deflating the dreams of the abandoned slums below.

"'Course," Rayan was prepared to fight the law as good as any good Gae Ceann, "But what've the lawless lands?"

Still staring over the horizon, Doyle dragged from the cigarette one last time.

"Fuck em'. We'll move on them once we control wing city, otherwise we'll find ourselves IN the lawless lands. Who the fuck says lawless lands anyway?" Benjamin said, eying Doyle with a mocking smile. "Remember. We need a place to stay, I don't care if you guys go out on your own, but we're weak now, like an infant. I need everyone to be there for everyone else." Benjamin said, patting her, or him on the back.

"Cheer up, we're not going to be fighting forever. Just for now."

Smoke curled in a wisp from the hiss of an extinguished cigarette. Truths had been spoken. Rayan chucked at word infant.

"So tell me 'bout this Vernot place."

Kate was in her usual place in life; recently marooned by an ungrateful crew in an unfamiliar place and armed to the teeth. She was lacking her usual guns thanks to her crew wising up, but before they finally tossed her off the ship she managed to grab her lucky rapier. And of course she had her good old faithful metal spikes, one hidden up each sleeve on a small mechanism to violently stab outwards. They were meant for climbing, but Kate had more creative uses for them.

Right now she hardly felt the captain she boldly claimed to be, but fortune ebbed and flowed and who knew what was around the corner?

Ragnar Lothbrook was strolling along the beach, in deep contemplation. It the battle against the Saxons the month previous still on his mind. The toll had been costly, he had lost six of his best men. And now he was contemplating mutiny from within his own clan. He knew it was so. His own brother had already risen up against him in open arms. But again, Odin was in his side, and he had calmed the raging seas that had risen against him.

He raised his eyes toward the west to contemplate the setting sun. A sea-gulls cry broke the silence, along with the rush of wind against his face. The touch of it was cool to his face, the summer was fading, the cold hands of autumn were threatening to take their hold on the land. And he could not help but to think of the fertile plains across the Sea to the east, where farmers tilled and toiled in better seasons, and fairer soils.

But his contemplation was interrupted as he spied a person in the distance, still to far for his eyes to discern. His hand instantly reached for his blade as he contemplated the arrival of this new person on his soil. Yet he hesitated to withdraw. The person was alone. Curiosity drove him forward to discover who it was.

The appearance of another was of no surprise to Kate. Shores always seemed to bring all sorts of people, as they made good landing places for boats, even when cities were inland. Heavy bootsteps dug into the sand as she drew closer with each large step, and what had been a sour face a few moments ago from being starved of alcohol and entertainment now turned to a broad grin spread from ear to ear.

A hand came to rest on the handle of her blade, a narrow thing that looked more a spike than a sword. It was the opposite of a handshake; a declaration that she had a sword and was damn willing to use it. She was a brigand by trade and this was just how she conducted her business.

"Oh aye," she called almost casually, as if to get his attention "And who 'ere has the pleasure o' sharing these shores with Cap'n Kate?"

Ragnar stopped short when he realized it was a woman who was a stranger on the shore. But that did not surprise him. His own wife was a rugged and wild spirit, a 'shield-maiden' as they were called. A callous a warrior as any Viking warrior was. He smiled looking upon the woman. A broad smile and he laughed, this woman spoke his language, although she was a foreigner to his shores.

"Pleasure, dear, Captain Kate, you say?" he said bowing low. "The pleasure is indeed mine," he looked into her eyes and stepped a little closer. "My name is Ragnar, Ragnar Lothbrook," he said raising his hand and gesturing toward the land around him. "And everything you see around you is mine. Welcome to my lands. And what, may I ask, are you doing here?" He smiled a little more, and then danced a little, as he was want to do. Then stood still looking at her. His hands nowhere near the blade on his hip, a sign of trust of the stranger before him.

Kate seemed more entertained than endeared, eyes narrowing and smirk crinkling her nose. In a flash she pulled her rapier from its sheath and pointed it in his direction, though she was still a good step away from him. "Your lands, eh?" she answered, toothy-grin bared towards him, "I guess they be the lands 'o Kate, now." She planted her free hand on her hip, lacking any real stance or form for fighting.

Truth be told she had no want nor care for lands of any kind. He was an entertaining sort, but she wanted to see what mettle or manner he had behind his friendliness. "What say ye now, Ragnar Lothbrook."

Ragnar watched as Kate pulled the thin sword from its sheath and paid more attention to it than her. He was not accustomed to its slender size and could not help but keep the boyish grin, yet the intrigued look from his face.

"Dear Kate, if these lands are all you wish," he replied again bowing, but not so low this time, "then they are yours for the taking. He had looked her up and down and judged that she was a worthy woman as any were. "Yet unless you have an army to take them it may be quite...hmmm," he hesitated and thought on it for a second. "How shall we say it? Quite hard." The smile did not vanish from his face.

In fact the claim from the woman that his lands were now his amused him a great deal, and he was wondering in his mind what sort of woman thought up such fancies in her imagination.

"Are you alone, my dear...Kate? With whom I have the pleasure? Or am I to be awaiting a great army? If you are alone, I welcome you to my home with open arms. There is food, and there is wine, and there is a place for you to sleep," he said that as he nodded to the setting sun, noting that it would soon be dark, and knowing that the cold winds blowing down from the mountains would soon make it difficult to sleep out of doors.

Kate was quick to lower her sword, realizing there was no fun to be had here until she actually got violent, and really her rapier was no place for that. "Lands freely given ain't worth the time o' Kate," she grunted, "But aye, I'll take yer wine 'n food, 'n a ship 'n crew if'n ye have em." She seemed bored all of a sudden, and very business-like. "Kate Darkrayne," was the only thing she answered to needing her name. "Skypirate," she jutted out afterwards.

Blade once more sheathed she marched on forwards, looking to push past him without any real deep interest in the man any more. She had things she needed to do. A crew she needed to hunt down and poach. Riches to plunder. Hedonism to live.

There was a process, a natural cycle as it was. Not the Great Cycle, no something simpler with an innocence to it. The cycle of water, from the skies in intense or gentle storms, then from the cliff caressing downwards, to the lakes, tarns, streams and further to great bodies of waters before finally reaching the destination the ocean. It was a cycle that humans had made use of and even manipulated but the beauty and ultimate radiance remained. Not even their efforts could remove the purity of this wonder. They could try mar or even disfigure them, but the cycle continued without abating. They could poison bodies of water without understanding and yet it persisted. They could damn and seal it, but still it continued. This was process she guarded with many others.

A woman sat on nearby rock looking out to the ocean with a vague smile as she listened to the swishing and crash of the waves, "It saddens me, that humans can overlook such beauty. Here we have something impressive and majestic and they ignore it." Aquarius was one of the Zodiac minor deities who maintained a facet of creation. Think of them like servant's to Gaia. All of them acted without prejudice and merely observed, well usually Tauras and Leo could be hot heads and well there was also the Chinese Zodiac. Perhaps this is why Terra still remained beautiful despite so many bloody, destructive and horrible campaigns of war. Terra was essentially a safe haven as so many old being frequent the place, despite being constantly in flux. It was never harmed too extremely, "Another cycle ended and another shall begin, simplicity and yet innocent beyond compare." she was speaking to no one, except maybe the waters itself, she could hear their murmurs and whispers. They spoke with beautiful rhapsodies and truly hyper tones, it was easy to be lost in their joy, "Perhaps, but for now you can continue next cycle, safe in knowledge I shall protect you." to an outsider she may appear insane conversing with the water, but then again she did not hide herself despite being a deity.

Jessica looked out over the ocean, her blue eyes flashing with an unusual brilliance as she took in the scenery before her. She couldn't remember why she had always loved the water, whether it was a fondness she had developed, or one of the things that had been sewn into her consciousness when she was born. While the environment exuded natural beauty, there was nothing about the young woman that was natural. Her body had started to fade, weakness becoming more and more pronounced as she grew older. Wings she'd once displayed proudly now hung limply against her back, frail, wispy things that couldn't carry her anymore. It was as if whatever gods that had allowed her to come into existence had finally decided that they were done humoring her, allowing her to suffer with frailty and immeasurable disappointment.

Her companion stood next to her, willowy and uncannily beautiful. Her blind, white eyes stared forward, nostrils flared as she took in the new scents and sounds. Jessica had never brought her to the ocean before, so she was experiencing all of this for the very first time. While Jessica's condition only worsened over the years, her companion's had not. In fact, Shadow had gone from being a frail young girl to a robust young woman. Even her movements had become less erratic, more purposeful, and she was less driven by instinct.

Now, though, Jessica had a harder time controlling the other from doing whatever it was she wanted. It was a cruel twist of fate, for now it seemed that Shadow lead her like a dog on a leash, and she was becoming progressively too weak to stop her.

"Jessie, what is this place?" Shadow's voice was a high falsetto, belying an innocence that they both knew she didn't have.

Still, Jessica found herself inexorably driven to oblige her, given the fact that she had created Shadow with her very own hands. She was like her child.

A parasite and a wraith, but still her child.

"It's where the sky meets the water. It's called a beach."

"Can we play in the water?"

"If you'd like."

Shadow took her hand and lead her down the beach, her grip firm and almost painful as the pair made their way forward. To the right, on a copse of stones that bordered the water's edge, Jessica noticed a woman sitting there, and she felt a spike of concern.

Shadow noticed. She always knew, and she looked to the right, her blind eyes wide and staring.

"What is it?" she asked. "What is that thing?"

Jessica looked at her in surprise. Was that fear she detected? "I don't know, Shadow. I've never seen her before." She'd never felt that kind of anxiety from her companion in years, not unless they were dealing with something that warred with Shadow's very existence. That meant, to Jessica, that the woman was not human.

"She seems to be doing her own thing, Shadow. Let's leave her be."

At first the deity had not noticed anyone, but as she started away from the rocks, she noticed a party of two people. Most deities kept to themselves, but Aquarius saw they feared her, well at least one did and though with fear came respect, she was not a cruel deity she merely served a purpose, thus she carefully approached both of them and spoke gently, "I was not expecting to see souls out this far. Of course there is nothing wrong with what you do." remembering her manners she went on, "I am Aquarius one of the Zodiac. My title is The Water Bearer and that is my domain, water and following the cycle it takes. I was here merely watching an old cycle end and new one begin." watching the wraith she saw the terror in the dark things eyes, before turning to the girl and noting the weakness within her, "You know I could break this connection so you could both live? I have that power? You are weak and she is strong, but need not be that way. I can free you both and make it you both exist without relying on the other."

Her expression continued to study them, "Or I could even use my waters of life and refresh the weakened one if you would rather live like this. I understand if this bond is truly precious to you mortal. I will respect that, but I won't do nothing, So seperation or healing please make a choice. One you are guaranteed a long life the other, you merely may get one, or may not. I ask no favours in return nor do I require payment. I simply wish for you to respect waters cycle and never hinder it in anyway." she beamed with kindness and strange enigmatic eyes, strange a deity would offer something without strings.
