The magnet rise meant that Lancelot's earthquake wouldn't be able to strike the electrode, but Alexander had yet to demonstrate Boomer's offensive capabilities. Arty was confident that the Gliscor would be able to take anything that its opponent could throw at it, and so was content to bide his time for the moment.
"Swords dance, Lancelot. Let's get this rolling." He gave a sidelong glance to the spherical electric pokemon before adding, "No pun intended."
With a flourish and a glimmer of its claws, the Gliscor circled upwards into the air, readying itself for its next move.
He pivoted in one smooth motion and placed the toe of his boot carefully on top of the dropped pokeball. "I could always use someone who understands how things work.
The boost from the swords dance left the move that might otherwise have been somewhat ineffective due to the type disadvantage more than potent enough to deal significant damage.
Returning his attention to Alexander, Arty chuckled. "I like to think I already have." he remarked in reply.
Boomer was rearing up for his next roll again, breaking into a full-charge for the Gliscor as Alexander placed his hand on his newly summoned monster. "Alexander Maycross bids you a due, stranger. May we never encounter each other again until some truths come to light."
He made a note of the man's full name himself. For a petty criminal, his pokemon were strong. Not as strong as Arty's, but nonetheless... above average. He was no Team Rocket grunt, that was for sure.
"Behind a protect, Lance." Arty instructed. The Gliscor raised its tail, forming a shimmering barrier of light between it and the electrode's charge that stopped it in its tracks, foiling the move's momentum.
And like that the crook was gone, no doubt to go back to his scheming, but foiled for the time being.
