Canti's Diner

74.5 INK

a part of The Multiverse, by Remæus.

This is your typical, decently sized diner. Painted in the traditional red and white with speckled Formica countertops. The smell of freshly baked pies fills the air from the small display case by the front entrance. Booths line the walls to the north and south while a few tables mottle the floor down the center. To the back of the diner is a small countertop with swivel stools and an old Wurlitzer jukebox.

Mencith holds sovereignty over Canti's Diner, giving them the ability to make limited changes.

Raven thought she was going to be sick listening to Russian and his purple haired whore. She would be gald when this business was done. Though it also made her a bit jealous of them....It had been a long time since she had a lover.
Raven sighed and would follow Russian and his girl out making sure to keep hidden in the crowd.
Raven completely ignored the fairy focused on her prize.

Echo laughed at his comment about her waistline "If you ever saw a fat Anthain, it's because they are holding that fat to consume all at one moment and surge their Magical potential. We have remarkable control over our bodies, in fact it's one of the first things we are taught when we begin practicing magic. " She shuddered as she spoke "Uuuugh it was borderline torture, it made me physically sick for days" She laughed "But without that training I wouldn't be able to do the things I can with Magic"

She finished off the rest of her food, despite telling him they should take it to go. She was mostly telling him he should take his. She blushed and laughed at his 'Bad Joke' "Wouldn't it have been better to say 'If looks could kill, I'd be dead?' Or maybe 'You're obviously a great magician, cause when I look at you everyone else disappears." She teased, sticking out her tongue and standing from her seat to step outside the diner.

"Note to self, if you are ever gaining weight by mistake just use it and use that all to go blow up your hated enemy! Man that sounds much more fun then just exercising to burn it all. Just make some magic and let the fat burn away from that...hmmm, I'll be sure to keep that information in mind." Russian nodded to himself.

Of course once she said her two little jokes Russian burst out laughing before slapping his knee. "And there is the reason why I loved being a duo. You get two people who match and bingo you become a classic pair! Just like old times...although I think I cracked more jokes in my younger days!" He would then get up from his chair and as they walked out put an arm around Echo's shoulder.

"You know, I think I made the right choice. And I was right as always, you are one hell of a woman. But you are my hell of a woman." He chuckled as he pointed ahead of him. "And from this point onward!...I have no clue where to head to!" Russian exclaimed with a smile. This was a fun day.

Echo blushed deeply as he spoke. He seemed to know exactly the right thing to say at the right time. She giggled and looked shyly away from him when he told her she was one hell of a woman "Well, I suppose that makes you one hell of a man then. " She grinned, leaning over and kissing his cheek. She was having such a good time with him, acting like normal people, it almost felt too good to be true.

"I suppose we should go that way then" She laughed as he pointed forward, not knowing were to go from there. "It doesn't matter where, as long as we go together." She said then got a weird look on her face "Now I guess it's my turn for cheesy one liners, I guess part of you is rubbing off on me, sexual pun intended" She said with a wink and began walking towards Main Street

Russian laughed at Echo giving a sly smile. "Hey there now, no need for things to get steamy you know. Pretty bold to say that in public. But hey, not like someone is actively listening to a couple getting lewd now eh? Save that for the bedroom. And I like your sense of direction! Forward! To...somewhere!..." He then pointed forward and just walked forward with Echo by his side.

As he waked, he returned her kiss on the cheek with a kiss on her cheek. "One of these days, your one liners will be enough to make any opponent's jaw drop in awe...Although you might have already have said plenty of good one liners in the past that shook someone from the sheer epic proportions from it. All I know is...you are the best woman I met...that has not tried to kill me...or robbed me blind...just a normal woman with mage powers." Russian chuckled once more as they began to walk into the Main Street. Some people on the sides waving signs around for some kind of election going on.

Raven followed the two into the street looking at all the madness. She was not one for politics though her gun had helped many a politician over the years. It was about that time that young human woman with bleach blonde hair wearing a white tank top and torn jeans bumped into her.

"Oi...sho shorry miss....hey yous pretty" said the woman drunkenly

Raven smirked "You're not so bad yourself" she said teasingly pulling the woman into an ally

The woman just giggled as the two woman pulled close thier lips locking into a kiss. The moment didn't last long though as Raven used a subtle move to render the woman unconscious.

"Sorry about that...you where a damn good kisser" Raven whispered as she placed the woman on the ground. Looking over her Raven's form and even clothing changed until she looked just like the woman on the ground.

Out of the ally Raven in her new form scanned the crowd. It wasn't hard to pick out Russian and his female due to the exotic look of the purple haired elf and Raven was soon on the trail again.

Echo laughed with him and continued forward to wherever their destination was. The political rally was a bit to much for Echo, she didn't do very well with crowds, or politics for that matter. A lot of them were just used as figure heads and tools anyway, there was always someone more sinister behind them pulling the strings. Not that it mattered much to her, she was only on the planet to have a good time with Russian.

Echo felt another blush on her face when he told her she was the best woman he had ever met and wondered if there was some kind of medical condition she could get from blushing too much. She put both hands on her cheeks "Russian! My goodness you make me blush so much. All the blood will stay in my face, then where would we be?" She giggled as she began looking for a shop of any kind. "I'm still pretty new 'round here. Maybe you should take the lead?" she asked, looking at him dreamily.

She suddenly got a shiver down her spine and looked behind her. She felt like she was being watched, her eyes were fixed on the ally that she saw a woman with blonde hair exit. She took a deep breath and told herself she was just being paranoid.

Russian smiled at Echo. "Sorry dear, I guess my charm comes out too strong. You look like you were almost drinking." He laughed as he pat her shoulder. Russian was also not much for politics, he was a mercenary after all and could care less about political mumbo jumbo people spout.

Of course, once she asked him where to go next since he might have had more experience around the city. "Well the business district might have more shops, no clue...I have not gone shopping for things other than noodle cups and machine parts." Russian laughed as he began to lead the way.

Akshasha stalked into the small diner, it was nice enough and though she didnt NEED to eat anymore; sometimes it was worth the wasted blood to enjoy a meal cooked with affection every now and then. The drow expended the necessary vitae to return her visage to one of human, and replicate the blush of life and a beating heart. Last, but definitely most important it hid the beast in her gaze, ensuring her fiercely glowing eyes didn't give her away immediately. As her eyes shifted into a sea green her long legs carried her into the diner she immediately noticed a tall, well-built man enjoying some form of roasted animal. He could be a lot of fun, big man plentiful blood... She smiled pleasantly as she walked over to sit across from him, in the same booth.

A waiter rushed over almost immediately, probably presuming she'd be in a hurry to order as her companion was already half-way through the Pork Roast. She flashed a dazzlingly perfect smile at the man, courtesy of her expended Vitae and true from as a stalker of the night. "Yes, um... Ribs; full rack preferably. My tab ~" The dark elf came here often enough that she had started a tab, as the local staff didn't ask too many questions nor seem to notice that she would never arrive with anyone but always left with someone. The drow's tab was currently in the negative as she liked to ensure she could stop in without worrying about carrying money on her. "Oh, and unsweetened iced tea please." She tried hard to not overdo the charm, as it was mostly fabricated and easy to turn on and off, but something about the man was better than the mortal Kine she usually found here; it pleased her God complex.

As the waiter hurried to put her order in, Akshasha turned back to Morbick. "Hello, I hope you don't mind if I sit here." The man was strong, very strong, evidenced by his powerful musculature. Something about his blood, smells... Delicious; almost intoxicating! Something very magical running through his veins. Dare I say ripe with magicka. She fought to retain cohesiveness as the man's scent was definitely intoxicating. "I was headed to Gambit's but stopped in for a quick bite before hitting the bar. If you're free a bit later..." The leech made a show of twiddling her fingers, and looking bashful

Askshasha smiled as the waiter hurriedly brought out her rack of ribs, and for a moment she could almost remember being alive. She turned a honeyed smile to Morbick and informed the barbarian, "Listen, I wouldn't want to keep you waiting while I eat. I've been told i'm a tad voracious. Maybe we could meet at Gambit's later? Say, the bar, in two hours?" Everyone seemed to know Gambit's, she wondered how long the building had sprawled out as it did. Supposedly it had once been quite small, Hard to believe now... Still holding eye contact, the drow waited for Morbick's answer, trying to restrain the needs to wolf down the entire rib-rack, bones and all.

The drow thought about what he said for a moment, before deciding, Oh what the hell! The slender thing tore through the rack of ribs viciously, savoring the sauce mixing with marrow as she crunched through it all in a flat minute. Akshasha took a moment to prestidigitation the mess from her face and hands before standing to join Morbick. "Name's Akshasha, just Akshasha. Shall we be going?" She gestured towards the door with a lithe hand, but waited for Morbick to lead the way.

Morbick was mostly silent as they made their way to Gambit's, not that Akshasha minded. The Strong and Silent have their merits. She wanted to fill the silence with something, but was uncertain as to what. Before long they began to approach The Gambit Building, the massive structure sprawling up into the Wing City skyline. The Dark Elf had to part ways with Morbick temporarily and deal with something in the basement bar very quickly. "Um, I have to drop something off before joining you. Any chance you could run up and order me a Moscow Mule?" She did her best to flash a amiable smile and considered casting a suggestion, but decided against it. He's been obliging enough so far, she thought to herself through the fake smile.

Midgra sulked outside of the Diner, after the waiter had discovered he had no money to speak of and ejected him. It was a shame really, usually the pinkies would bring him the food before asking for payment, and he would have been long gone by that time. But perhaps the fact he had recently lost his glass eye, or perhaps just the general smells of weeks without grooming gave them the impression that he might be the type to skip out on the bill. His stomach rumbled in protest, but there was nothing that could be done. He lit up temporarily as he saw a couple walking towards the door, and jumped out in front of them to try a sales pitch. He panted happily as he saw he had their attention.

"Mr.! Misses!" He said excitedly. "Do please help a poor guy feed his face?" he said, wringing his paws together in anticipation.

"Ew... I think its trying to talk to us." The female said. The man quickly pushed him aside with his foot as they walked in the restaurant. Midgra fumed, kicking over an ashtray that happened to be outside, sending a metallic clang echoing through the immediate surroundings. He went back to the corner of the door, sitting down on the tome that was his only possession at the time. He impatiently waited for someone to pity him or something worthwhile, or at least interesting to happen as he slowly starved.

"A silent eve for you once again, Saiyan?" Came the hushed tones of a being far beyond him in the grand hierarchy of the cosmic order. Akin to a passing breeze it seemed to flit from shoulder to shoulder as pastel violet eyes scanned the surroundings. The man, in question being spoken to, couldn't help but muster a mute curvature at the corners of his lips. Tequil, always on his heels; or so he jested time and time again.

"Aren't they always, these days, Tequil?" He silently replied, rounding a corner. "At least one can say I've opted for a change in pace. Canti's is a place I haven't yet visited, despite my familiarity with this city." He mused aloud. Truer words went unspoken. The violet clad paragon had seen many a location in the depths of this monolithic metropolis and, yet, this off the beaten path diner hadn't been one of them. Lithe digits fingered a well-worn object within his inner breast pocket; a small book he often brought along as mild reading material in times he chose to go out.

"Quite a shame a man such as yourself has little, to no, company. A man alone, albeit a solitary stone, wears down sooner or later; but far be it from me to tell you how to live your life." Hush whispers continued. Despite having little, to nothing, invested in the man, save for his teachings, he still happened to offer small morsels of knowledge when he saw fit to. And while he'd not known the man for long, per-say, he'd gleaned enough to know that Vegeshin, for the man he happened to be, had hardly a friend in anyone.

"I've been alone for some time, Tequil. I've grown accustomed to the silence. It can be deafening at times, but it's something I'm accustomed to. And it's not all that bad, either." Violet eyes, unwavering, seemed confident as he replied. Solid. Unflinching. Unfaltering.

Only then did the clanging and clattering of something adrift the breeze catch his ears. His pace quickened, but not significantly so, and shortly thereafter did he come upon the diner's entrance. Keen eyes as they were, they initially missed the seemingly small and anthropomorphic creature tucked away in a corner near the door. At this point in time, Tequil seemed to dissipate into the air, likely back to Vegeshin's abode, or his own, leaving the man with violet laden hair to his own devices.

Silence began to radiate for a brief moment in time as Vegeshin studied it. Despite the night shade that clad a majority of the area in darkness, the neon glow and soft luminescence of the streetlights offered enough for him to discern certainties; one of which appeared to be a book the creature sat upon. Astute senses also picked up the tell-tale funk of something that hadn't bathed in some time. Sympathy began to drift into his conscience as he slowly pieced things together; the upturned cigarette catcher only added to his conclusion.

The question now therein lay; did he speak? Vegeshin had come across stranger things in his time here. Speaking to an animal, or something resembling an animal, wouldn't come off as all that peculiar.

"Mmn. I'd planned on grabbing a meal. Not sure on your situation, but if you like...I can see about getting you fed if you like." He offered in a mild tone. "Perhaps after, assuming things go well...We can see about getting you bathed and, perhaps, something to clad yourself in; a cloak or a shawl..." He added before smiling. "That is if you're open to the suggestion."

As Midgra sat upon his Tome and sulked, listening to the sounds of his protesting insides,
he heard another patron approaching. His ears perked up as his eye dialated, watching the
purple haired man approach. As he did, Midgra did his best to look pathetic and distraught,
even though he considered himself to be neither of those things.

Acting as though he had just noticed the man as he approached, he was caught off guard
momentarily by the vibrant purple hair the man sported, and while it was hard to explain,
his sixth sense told him that this man was something more than just a usual hair deprived
primate. Some of the metal in his face and arm had begun to tingle, almost the same sensation
as when the book had spoke to him in that alley.

"P-please sir.." He fake stammered, trying to put it on thick for the Saiyan, before being
interrupted by the man.

"Mmn. I'd planned on grabbing a meal. Not sure on your situation, but if you like...I can
see about getting you fed if you like." The man spoke in a mild tone and seemed to be
fairly apathetic whether Midgra would take him up on the offer or not.

Although he continued speaking, Midgra found himself
much too excited to listen as he hopped up off of his ancient book, which seemed to
flitter and flutter in a breeze that wasn't there as he did so. Grabbing the large tome
with both hands, it being about half his size, he took his place at the mans side. His
tongue lolled out as an expression of elation awash over his canine face. He began speaking
to him a little more at length, his thick accent and general misunderstanding of language
beginning to creep through.

"Thank you purple man! You have done me a respect. Most people find me kickable. But!
What do I get to eat!?" He said with a raised excited voice as they neared the entrance,
walking in circles around Veji. Midgra hopped up and down in anticipation. The bath and
clothes would be nice, but food was his first priority right now. He knew that he could go
longer than most without food, but this was a particularly long, bad stretch. Perhaps three
to four days with no nourishment. Without his enhancements he might not even be able to
move. All of this was in his past now it would seem however, and perhaps, just maybe with
his newly found tome and aquaintence it would not have to be in his future.

A sudden belt of laughter left the pastel eyed individual as he listened astutely to the broken words of the creature before him, trying his utmost best to keep eyes fixated as he found himself circled numerous times. Excited, this creature certainly happened to be. He took immediate notice of the duality of the individual, in question, as human traits seemed to intermingle rather easily with animalistic tendencies. Although, one thing settled an unwavering smile on his face that seemed likely not to leave anytime soon; the tell-tale name he'd actually heard a couple of times before. Purple man.

"What do you get to eat?" He questioned, taking lackadaisical, if not even whimsical, steps toward the doorway. Hand rose to chin in a moment of mild ponderance. Strangely enough, for a man with assets as he had, he still chose a frugal lifestyle, not drawn by the beck and call of a high roller lifestyle. "I had settled on a house special, really, myself. I can only assume it to be mildly cheap, but you're free to order whatever you like. I'd rather you fill yourself up until your satisfied than worry about the cost." He mused with a smile.

With a few more steps out of the way, he offered an open door to the small creature with an accompanying gesture of graciousness. And yet, his eyes continued to study the creature, in curiosity above all things, likely in part of the peculiarity of him. A miniature, semi-cybernetic, anthropomorphic creature. Different, but not all to peculiar in the grand scheme of all he'd witnessed before him.

Assuming the creature did take entry first, he followed behind gently allowing the door to close behind him before scouring for a comfortable place to seat himself, as well as his guest. Not many, in most cases, would worry too much about such a thing but Vegeshin differed from any and all that likely graced the establishment. First, a window booth, if possible. Second, one rather close to the door. Why, per-say, would he opt for such? He happened to be a paragon, of course. In times of dire straights, in situations that called for it, and when catastrophy loomed in the reachable distance, he took to what he did best. Save people.

"You don't happen to mind if we take a seat by a window and close to the door, do you? I happen to hold an unusual profession..." He spoke followed with a chuckle, albeit one that seemed tinged with mild embarrassment.
