The Multiverse

Setting

Largest city on Yellowstone and planetary capital, Chasm City is slowly facing the same fate as the rest of the system. Due to the Epsilon system's back water status, and current Aschen military occupation, much of the infrastructure has decayed outside of military strong holds.
The once vibrant and prosperous city of the Amerikano colonies is now a decaying shell of it's former self.

Seno Miyagi scoffed. "The one that has a vocabulary of a five year old, not exactly the woman I married, but I guess I'm responsible for that. Government took Yuriko, and I haven't seen her in six months." He added, turning around to face Claire. "Might want to get out of here before the Empire comes for you, I'd hate to think what they have in store for someone like you, especially Dr. Plishkin." Seno added, looking outside.

"And we both know that kid was a twerp, your choice though, I'm not going to force you to go anywhere."

A painful chill ran down Claire's spine at the thought of dealing with Plishkin. To say that his reputation preceeded him was a complete and utter understatement. The rumors that Claire had heard were no less than worrisome. "Then divorce her. Your responsible for that too." She said sourly, unsure of how she'd even become something of a companion and lover to the man who now stood in her front hallway. It was a relationship that was growing to be something uncomfortable. "What would I do on Niihama anyway? It's not like anyone is looking for people in my field, and I don't speak Taiyou." The latter was something of a boldfaced lie, they both knew she spoke it well enough to navigate most social situations.

Seno Miyagi laughed slightly. "You're just out of practice, and Kenbishi is looking for someone to work on improving the Jet Tengu project." Seno said, folding his hands behind him once more. "And the Imperial Government annulled the Marriage when they took her to the Military." Seno added, before he turned to the outside.

"The Choice is yours, Claire. I can get you a job at Kenbishi if you need it."

She couldn't help but feel bitter towards Seno, he seemed all too eager to keep her in the dark about most things. Scowling she turned to look at the vase full of multi colored roses; while it was true she was out of practice with most things Taiyou, that wasn't to say she couldn't pick them up again. "Your asking me to pick up and simply move to Niihama..." Claire said slowly contemplating the dull days, and xenophobia that most Taiyou possessed.

Seno Miyagi grabbed the door handle, and he slowly began to turn it. "Shirada Shipworks? You seem to enjoy the design and construction of capital ships, I'm sure Shirada could be of use for someone like you." Seno said, before he slowly opened the door. "Gravity's not as bad over there either." He added, gesturing to the Sudden Transport parked outside the house on a small outcropping.

"There's the small oh so ever present issue of xenophobia, solve that and maybe I'll see you on Niihama." Claire replied more than ready to watch him walk out the door and away from her for who knew how long.

Cities by nature grew and expanded and enterprising civilian mercs might find this particular world a lot like home. There were many hazardous places in the multiverse where life refused to die. This particular ornery creature found the place hotter and the air was foul in some underground places. Skills could get a decent price to keep him out of the worst parts of the mulch and the Gardener's stocky form and capacities didn't hurt either. It arrived much to consternation of customs but getting signed up and trained for things wasn't hard for the earth-mover after it started doing the job of heavy labor that could climb up walls.

Ruddy colored cephalothorax and a patina tinted abdomen blended into the stone at times but the hard surfaces made him stand out a bit. There was a bit of metal and carbon fiber rigging attached to hardpoints on his carapace for compression PPE. Not terribly resistant to an errant tunnel collapse but it was cheap and kept falling boulders from fracturing the faint metal nacre laced through his frame. Better the fiber plates to fracture and shrug it off than for him to have to heal it up. Having to molt a major fracture made him awful poor for a month though if he could get his hands on some decent metal for the nacre layer it might be worth it. There was always somewhere in the mulch that would pay for a ceiling mounted stabfools turret that could collapse body armor and the ribs behind it. Especially with other bodyguards to watch his back against weapons.

Though Earthrend didn't bother to have a home down here per se and just clung to high walls to keep out of the reach of random thugs when busy with such work. Everything he owned he carried with him which suited the local bosspeople just fine as he basically just slept wherever he worked. No job today yet though. Nobody really wanted to climb 30 meters across a rock cliff to fuck with the giant spider though he got pot-shots every now and again. If there wasn't a hole to crawl into he just sat on a building out of view of the street. Which was what he was doing atop one now preparing to eat a bale of livestock feed while waiting for a contract to come in on his pad. He hadn't found a good vegetable oil source down here yet though he couldn't chug the stuff like the high soldiers. It took forever to grind this plant matter down. A fairly noisy crunch and crush came as two huge clasps tore at the bale and ground food down. Two front legs fished through his pack below to haul a pad out by the corner-rungs. The pages scrolled and the UI beeped as he controlled it through RF.
