Acting as Asteria's main harbor, Colcord's industry enjoys booming success which has only spiked positively with the influx of seafaring immigrants (Legal or otherwise).

Rick walked over to the girl slowly, his hand on his hip. While he didn't view her as a threat, he couldn't ignore that fact she'd just held him at sword point. He stepped in front of her, bending at the knees.

It was the second time that they'd been in this position.

He glanced at her wounds, the cut in her hand was harmless, but it was the laceration at the back of her ankle that worried him the most. A ruptured achilles tendon was a painful injury, and one with a long recovery time. While non-surgical treatment options existed, she'd definitely need to go to a hospital.

He then locked eyes with her, and wore the same expression as when she'd threatened his safety. "You should tell me what you know."

He heard the soft jostle of equipment on someone who was running. Within seconds Duremas arrived, along with several other officers wearing tactical gear. Rick rose a hand at them, making several quick gestures, before turning back to Rinika. The officers then spread out, making sure the garage was secure.

The girl silenced, a distinct contrast to how chatty she was earlier. She glared at Rick, reaching one hand down to clasp over her sliced tendon. That boy's aim was good. She didn't have a chance with that speed right now. Her perception was lacking.

But she didn't give up- nor did she disappear like the man did. She tried not to let the detective know that she was having a hard time with that in particular. She just grit her teeth and beat the ground with her fist.

Captured. Shit.

Marilyn didn't go out much, but when she did it was mainly because she felt the need to, or because she wanted something. A little fresh air and outdoors was good once and a while anyway. Today however she was simply searching for some new movies to buy, more specifically, horror movies. She had already seen so many, even watched the same movies over and over again, it was time to find some new ones and she was rather excited about the idea of watching a new horror movie. Marilyn had a sort of strange hobby, her home was full of odd things here and there, random antiques, odd plastic statues you might find out the front of a coffee shop, salt and pepper shakers the shape of a black cat and a white cat. Little things like that.

There was this one shop she always went to, it was known for selling second-hand books and DVDs for good prices, she found a lot of old stuff in this shop that she didn't know were even still around.
Marilyn wore plain clothes, a sleeveless black hooded jumper and dark brown cargo shorts. At the moment her hood was down, she only put it up when it was raining anyway, no need to have it up indoors.
Finally, amongst the swarm of people within the mall, she made it to the second-hand shop and entered, giving the cashier a short, shy smile and wave as she began searching for any horror film she could find.

There was a racket outside of the store, though it was a ways down from it. Yelling and screeching and wild chattering was a given, but there were a scant few who didn't turn their heads to look.

In fact, one woman decided to waltz in the complete opposite direction of the ruckus. Right into the movie shop.

She was slightly peculiar, even in comparison to the usual Terran. The woman certainly favored her blacks and whites when it came to clothing, and was quite pallid herself. She favored a tight black dress and pearls, along with a wide-brimmed sunhat that came low over her eyes. Her lipstick was sharp, and her makeup uncolored. Her heels, thin stilettos, clacked audibly on the floor.

She came aside Marilyn with a bright, white-toothed smile as she browsed movies with the girl.

Marilyn's face lit up with curiosity as soon as she heard the yelling and what not, leaning forward and peering out the shop's window to try and get a better look of where the loud racket was coming from. That was when she noticed a woman enter the shop, completely unchanging from the ruckus happening outside, as if she hadn't even heard the commotion. Now Marilyn was just a curious and interested in this unknown female she hadn't seen before; well that wasn't hard seeing as how she never went out enough to notice any faces. Nonetheless, her eyes followed the quite well dressed woman, she liked her style, it was simple yet quite flattering to her figure. She was just simply a naturally beautiful woman and Marilyn rather wished she could pull off looking like that, at least some day, eventually.

Wait, she was coming over, and Marilyn was staring, startled by this fact of how much of a weirdo she felt she would look like, the female quickly returned to looking at the movies, pretending like she hadn't been staring openly just now. She was such an awkward girl. Her eyes shifted, wanting to take a little peek to see where the female was. Oh shit she was right next to her. Act cool, she thought, noticing her smile. Was that smile at her or the movies? Why would someone smile at movies Marilyn how silly, wait maybe she found the movie she was looking for. Make a decision. Yes Marilyn made the decision to return the smile, her lips closed as an awkward smile was now present and she quickly turned her head back to looking at the movies, practically trying to hide her face now. It was clear she really wasn't a people person.

As she tried to keep her thoughts of embarrassing herself off her mind, she remembered the commotion she heard happening outside, glancing at the woman once again she really wanted to know what was going on out there without actually getting involved in it. Clearing her throat and coughing subtly she finally spoke up, "excuse me, uh. I was just wondering, if you knew what all the ruckus was about just now? I mean unless you don't want to talk about it, that's okay. If you're busy it's alright sorry to bother you I'm just curious. Oh if you didn't see anything that's okay too ha ha ha uh." Nice. That was better than usual, at least she didn't even stutter. She did ramble a bit though. Oh well, she got it off her chest and there wasn't really a bad reply the woman could give her, she seemed like a nice woman.

A busy day for the medical examiner at colcord point usually seemed something just short of a zombie apocalypse with the state of the gangland boys that came in. Riddled with bullet holes, bags of severed limbs, crushed heads. All the usual fare was still showing up on gurneys in the end of the room as he silently counted while eating the sub at his desk at the end of the room. It irked some of the rest of the staff they'd eat 10 meters from the dead bodies but he and the day staff cleaned the shit out of everything on the very regular. An iron constitution just came with the job after a few years. It's not like they plunked dead bodies on their desks. Well not unless the parts were in secured sanitary tubs anyhow. Then another body bag comes in, a huge mound of plastic, which in no way is going to fit on one of his drawers.

((Hey guys, there's no way he'll fit. Just put him on my slab I'll do him first then get him to the fridge.)) He called out in Taiyou with half a mouthful of turkey sub.

Beleaguered by the amount of bodies at a shootout the delivery crew that sorely needed more coffee just nodded if nothing else of relief. Though they grunted with effort lifting the guy off the stretcher. The bag didn't shift as much as the brown-haired pathologist expected. This guy was built but then everyone gets taken apart eventually. The examiner in his late thirties stood up and walked across the room to the sink to get prepared. Best get started on big boy if he wanted to get out at a reasonable hour.

Finished over an hour later than he'd planned at least he was still getting some sleep tonight. The big boy took a van to the midsection while kneeling. The rib cage was completely destroyed but despite all the adipose tissue that rounded him out he was indeed very built. It was almost a shame to cut through some of the tattoos but he needed to inspect the damage. Several dozen bullets and some plastic later he'd gotten out all the foreign bits into evidence bags and provided all the necessary documentation. Whether it would get anywhere or be 'lost' along the way was anyone's guess but definitely not his problem.

It only took a little while longer to get the huge body back into the freezer and wrap up for the night. Exhausted and passing the doors he turned out the lights. As the bulbs dimmed sixteen more lights turned on in a nearby duct. Having followed the ambulance it took some time for the creatures to find a way into the building unseen. Jinhai endeavored not to disturb humans without awareness of the Living Emperor. However their mandate to rekindle humankind persisted in spite of that doubly so when they saw a human die that might suffer true rekindling. Even if the humankind appeared currently in pieces the throne of mankind had not been significantly disturbed.

The twelve sparks poured out from a large drain double file organizing the ichorous fount into three sets of four humanoid figures. As they pulled arms and bodies out of each other each dispersed among the room. Gathering sample bags and tubs where pieces of him now isolated. One Jinhai surveyed the drawers, a second opened bags of shattered organs, and the last reintegrated pieces of the humankind arriving from the second. Many of the bones of the rekindled were destroyed or worse so the first gathered replacements from bodies too far gone to be rekindled. The true rekindled must first be whole for the image to be taken. They made minor alterations in the rekindled, correcting joint wear, cleaning the damaged arteries, replacing missing cartilage material, and either retensioning tendons or replacing them entirely. They'd learned quite a bit in the Wing City rekindling zone of the nature of long-term human wear. This particular one had quite a lot of it and was fresh enough for the soul not to have left the plane yet. Jinhai now held the attention of the resilient soul as they worked to reattach it to the body with a full synthetic astral tether required of True Rekindled. Though the soul seemed emotive about the changes made to the skin. Jinhai properly realigned and fused the ink pattern with skin crawling along lines of moving black ichor flung from an outstretched glove and the objection abated.

Having made what changes were required to repair the body Jinhai returned to the body among a crimson-scattered room. The unsalvageable bodies opened with surgical precision if without regard for cleanliness. The few others that could be rekindled receive all remaining parts of those that could not. Two Jinhai surrounded Yamasaki as the third acquired sheets to match the designs used by Jinhai in wing city hospital. White cotton spread on their surface a thin gauze around indistinct heads. Their understanding of inconspicuous behavior far shallower a body of knowledge than the human body. Patient to a fault the Jinhai stood stock still as Adolefactus completed the receptacle for Yamasaki. The moment it completed the process began on genesis to recall the disjoned soul there then to bind it to the artificial astral tether. It proved that the soul survived the process as pallor and red lines of scalpel cuts began to vanish from the body. Evidence of Yamasaki's soul leveraging the wellspring to rebuild its vessel. They would quickly need to move the other rekindled and deliver the True Rekindled to its home. They'd located the Humankind's identification as two Jinhai carried two bodies each and the last packed the heavier Yamasaki himself. The rekindled went back to empty beds for the Humankind to tend to once the rekindled reassociated with their repaired bodies and left the coma. There were a few stares but few patients interrupted indistinct 'doctors' moving around in the darkened ends of the hospital. Yamasaki carried slowly, bulky as it was, until the other two Jinhai returned to join once more into a twelve many. The 9 foot Jinhai slowly made its way across the city a now tiny Yamasaki in its large hands.
