Deep Space 1

A frown was brought upon Shin, as Cy blamed herself. It bothered him in some ways to see her frustration. He felt a bit useless himself, and he hates thinking less of himself. In order to avoid this bout of self-pity Shin spoke. "Is there anything I can do to help?" "Is there anything I can do to...I'm not sure...amplify the range of your ability?" "Perhaps make it stronger or more accurate?" Shin asked. He wasn't quite sure how this sense of hers worked, but he could add power to her. Add a increased chi level in hopes to increase her standing ability. Though he wasn't quite sure if her power is based on chi, though that may not matter. It is life force energy and it can be applied to many things. Even towards techniques that are much more specific. Shin sat there wondering what remedy she can mention.

Cy sat back down, actually she plopped down on to the lounge seat with a thump, forgetting about her armor and dropped her head back against the lounge seat and sighed as she rubbed her face. "Not much can be done, Shin. What small empathy I have isn't strong enough for me to get an accurate lock on him. Seems since I'm not fully human anymore I can't hone in on the emotion like my son or partner can." sighing she sat forward elbows on her knees and head in her hands. "Unless you have some way of heightening empathy, than I'm fucked and so is Ki."

Shin once again felt perturbed by Cy's surrender. He didn't like the way she was giving up, he liked that fiery spirit he saw in her. Gave her even greater qualities than her own body has. He has heard of Empaths before, a psychic ability much like telepathy. Though despite the metaphysical, extrasensory type of power it all had genesis within the mind. The Mind like muscles, can be enhanced for it is a muscle. One that must be exercised like one's body. Though they can't spend time exercising, the mind is connected to the body and spirit. Even though he isn't one with the psychic gift, chi has been known to give others a greater perception of the world around them. Maybe Cy could meditate and use the life force that surrounds them both.

Though she did make a comment about not being fully human anymore. Such a curious statement, though one that isn't unheard of. People seemingly human are not human. Though most beings can tap into such force with training, but Shin has something more immediate in mind. "Empathy is a psychic ability, correct?" "Well despite it being so, all psychic abilities originate from the mind, yes?" "Well instead of heightening empathy I can heighten your mental state." "Perhaps the boost will boost your psychic energies making them strong enough to locate Ki." Shin spoke. He got down off his plush, leather seating and sat upon the white, fluffy carpeting of the ship. He crossed his legs one over the other and assumed the typical meditative pose.

"Please sit how I am sitting, but facing me." Shin directed. "Once so you will lock both your hands with mine." "I'm going to try some transference." Shin spoke as he waited for Cy.

Slightly taken back by everything Shin said Cy frowned slightly even as she slid off the lounge she had been sitting on and sat on the floor in front of Shin in the same position as him. "I'm not all that well knowledgeable in Empathy or psychic energies." she cocked her head as she tried understand a few things as she reached out and grasped his hands with hers.

"Um...I hope nothing drastic happens by doing this. Normally Syn does my enhancements. Specially since my mind is highly enhanced beyond a normal humans." she said as she rolled her shoulders while watching Shin. "Course its kinda hard to figure out if you don't understand the full capabilities of my brain as it is."

Shin waited as she sat and locked her hands with his. Shin listened to her concerns and under normal circumstances he would be concerned as well. But this isn't normal circumstances and Shin isn't normal himself. Shin smiled as he spoke in a soft tone, "Worry not my dear." "This is a very smooth process and should not cause harm to either of us." Shin then made a long, almost uncomfortable pause, "but you may feel a sudden...shock, as if you were falling." Shin spoke as he closed his eyes. "As for your enhanced mind, I will accommodate you as much as possible." Shin spoke then grew silent almost lifeless. "Once you feel the shock, it will have begun...you will want to close your eyes soon after and concentrate...concentrate on Ki." Shin spoke for one last time.

The room around them remained still, even Shin's body was statue like. If the transference is at all successful, then Cy would feel a rise in heat within her palms. Then as if someone pulled the old static shock prank, she would feel a sudden jolt across her body. The very energies of his self would be channeled into Cy's body. Though the energies will concentrate heavily in her mind. The enhanced capacities of her mind would require greater energy to heighten at all. Though he was unconcerned as would he transfer more and more energies to her. He had hoped she will soon be able to use the extra energy to good use, if she received any at all.

Cy gave a slight nod as she watched Shin and waited, taking his words to affect, more so when she felt her palms heating up, only to twitch slightly when the static shock jolted across her body, causing her hair to flair slightly and closed her eyes her thoughts centering on her son and the slight pain she felt, and latched onto that ignoring the sudden back feed of a shock wave that shot back down the link back towards Shin.

Joy shot through Cy when she felt agonizing pain that felt familiar shoot through her mind and latched onto it, ignoring the sharp shocks that seemed to jolt repeatedly through her mind as she wrapped her thoughts around her sons and used their telepathy that linked the family together but was much stronger anytime with Ki.

*Ki! Kesha can you hear me?* she called out, keeping her mental voice down feeling the pain that was rippling through his mind, grinning physically when she felt his shock than his over whelming joy.

*Maja!? Thank the Goddess...where are you...how close are you?* his voice ringing with pain laced joy.

*I'm not sure, my son, but I'm getting help and with this I'm centering in on you. Can you amplify your signature. All I'm getting from you is pain and you know how bad my empathy is.*

There was a sigh that was tinged with pain, agonizing pain that had Cy's own face furrowing with sad pain before the wary and tired mental voice, amplified by what Shin did and back tracking down the link. *Alright...but it's going to put me down. Let me find a safe place out of the open and I'll let my shields down...hurry mom. I don't know who did it, but some one on this world ripped into someone's mind viciously and with my shields down...I'll be down...and vulnerable.* came his reply before the connection was cut.

Cy's eye's snapped open as the link broke and stared at Shin blinking as her eyes, which had turned black during the surge, returned to their natural color. "Thank you but we will have to hurry when he opens the link. He'll be vulnerable and I can't let anything else happen to him. Specially if what he said is true." Letting go of his hands she stood up and popped her back as she looked about the lounge room and frowned before looking back down at Shin. "Do you have anything that will allow me to transfer data to your ship?" she asked cocking her head.

Jerking Cy screamed as she crumpled to her knees grabbing her head as agonizing pain ripped through her mind and shuddered as she curled forward gritting her teeth eyes tightly closed and hissed as she fought through the pain, trying to dig through it to find out where exactly her son was, her body continuously shuddering as she held back more cry's of pain, only to keen with loose when she felt her sons conscious fade and knew that he was out cold.

Shin twinged and jerked as shock waves of excess energy rebounded to his body. It was an odd feeling to have it redistributed along with foreign energy signatures. It did some what prevent further aging on his body. Which if Cy would notice Shin has aged visibly some during this interaction. Though this side-effect worried him little. His youth would return full swing after transference was over. As Cy broke the link, Shin opened his eyes as he saw hers return to normal. It looks like her powers has some side effects as well. It made him feel some what comfortable, considering how much he despises aged features. He almost felt ashamed to have her look upon him. His skin, although still firm, had some wrinkles. His black, vibrant hair had a few grey hairs within. The colors of his flesh even seemed to diminish. Oh how much he hates transference! Still it had to be done.

Shin stood up slowly his body adjusting to the sudden aging. Damn, even his body felt older. He listened to Cy as he gave a nod. "Why yes, yes I do." "If I use the panel over here I can access the ship's data files." "Since I do have an on board computer when I'm doing work while traveling." Shin quickly pressed some buttons, speed and agility returning to him. The color pale coloring of his skin was becoming vibrant again. The grey hairs returning to their luster, as the wrinkles disappeared. "Alright done." "Now if there is anything you wish to put in, all conceivable outlets are opened." "If it's an object, place it in the slots to the side here." Shin pointed at the central isle towards the right of where his hand was. "If it's something more...personal, then connect as you would anything else." Shin spoke. It wasn't long before Cy fell to her knees. Concern Shin nearly jumped to her side. "Are you alright?" Shin asked worried.

Vaguely Cy noticed the aging and filed it away to ask about it later and shuddered as the pain faded and breathed a breath of relief as she sat up, her body trembling slightly but kept her left hand pressed to her temple. "No...I'm not...but I will be." she said softly, gritting her teeth against it as she squinted up at Shin, noting that he was once again young. ''''Hmm that's interesting.'''' she thought before pinching the bridge of her nose.

"Ki's mental shields are down...I felt them go down...the pain...goddess the pain." she closed her eyes and shook her head gritting her teeth. "I don't know what happened, but Ki said that some one on the world he is on, ripped into someone's mind viciously, causing a backlash that struck Ki's mind." she said as she shifted slightly and sighed even as she frowned. "I have the the coordinates to the planet he is on. We have to get there now! Ki is vulnerable with out his shields up. Not to mention him letting his shields down caused unrestrained pain to rip through him and he is unconscious now."

Slowly she stood gripping Shin's shoulder to help steady her balance and sighed as she waited before looking towards the spot where Shin had been typing and moved towards it, reaching for the back of her head just at the base of her skull meeting her neck and pulled out the gold lions head that set there before pulling a black wire from the hole and plugged it into the console closed her eyes and opened the link for the data that she had concerning her son. Seconds later data began to flash across the screen before it stopped and she opened her eyes, unlatched and let the wire recoil back in and replaced the earing before she turned and looked at Shin. "The information is downloaded." she said softly looking down at her hands which were wringing each other.

Father Arneth watched the news reports of atrocities by his organization. He smiled as he said to his wife, "Our sons have done well on Terra."

"Of course they have, dear."

Arneth felt no sorrow for those who would die in his name. They did as he ordered and surpassed his expectations.

"When will the assault on Terra begin?"

"They are on their way now."

"Well I know that, but when will they reach Terra."

"All I can say is soon darling..."

And there, in the midst of the heart of darkness did a deeper gloom then grow. A tension would come upon the air, and a deep sense of vile wrongness would run down the spine of those within. The shadows suddenly seemed to heave and thrash as if alive, and what light remained grew bloody, and sharp. A sound would come, not unlike a flute, but it was scattered, aimless and breathy. And then, when the moment could no longer withstand the tension of the unknown, it was shattered by a voice making itself known. Gentle and grim, but with an almost pleasant lilt of admiration.


"I trust this evening finds you well, Arneth and Wife. How could it not, when your machinations have proceeded with such impunity?" the voice said, its source from now direction in particular.

"I am Nyarlathotep, the Crawling Chaos. And I am honored to meet souls such as yourselves..."

"The honor is all mine god of chaos." Arneth said in a tone of confidence and respect.

Arneth's wife watched closely, but knew if a god spoke to them there was little she could do.

"What have we done to gain the attention of a god?" Arneth said as he stood.

"It's not difficult to gain my attention...I keep track of many doings within the mortal coil that I both encourage and resent. What is uncommon, is for me to become invested in such happenings." Nyarlathotep cooed, the air within the room taking on a silky chill.

"Detonating buildings...burning the literature of the people...such acts of wanton vagrancy. Such rejection of the values 'society' calls dear. It is my essence; the foundation of my existence. It is my desire to shy mankind away from the limits of 'civility' and 'ethics'...to teach them the ways of power, and freedom from purview. And you, my friends, already serve this purpose." the voice continued, the shadows beginning to dance and sway more frantically.

"So obviously it becomes prudent that I extend my thanks and boon to your deeds. So long as you strive to tear down the ways of man, I will aid you in your journey."

"Well then..." Arneth said as he realized where this was going.

"We have made strives to destroy what so many have struggled to build. We'll burn Terra or lose an expeditionary force doing so. They will build monuments and memorials for their dead and I'd be happy to have you to thank and the Family needs a more real deity than me. What sort of aid would you lend us?"

"I am capable of providing many things...technology, power beyond your wildest imagination, and even support from my own personal forces. I am pleased to hear that your people may grow to covet me. Rest assure, worship of myself does not go unnoticed, nor unpaid." Nyarlathotep said softly, his presence causing the temperature to fluctuate rapidly.

"I cannot, however, let my hand intervene directly in the fate of your men. I can give them the tools they need, but I will not fight for you. Your fight is a human one...it only has meaning if the people fighting it can die for it."
