Setting

Everything about this negative world defies the normal rules of reality. It is a place of madness and absurdity, where the impossible becomes possible and then eviscerates you from within. Many floating landmasses make up the majority of the matter here, alien plant life and structures of impossible, unknown architecture litter the landmasses, as well as rivers that may or may not be blueberry flavored. It might also be toxic, and it might also warp you into a hideous abomination. Despite the presence of buildings, no life is to be found here. Time and space itself have ceased to function properly, and unless two individuals enter simultaneously they will likely be unable to see, hear, or even feel eachother during the duration of their stay. Even if they do go in together, their appearances will become warped chaotically, as even human beings themselves are not immune to the will of this place. Gravity shifts randomly and without warning, potentially propelling dwellers to other landmasses. Those that free fall past landmasses are inevitably drawn towards the dark, cold center of the distortion world...

It is said that a horrible pokemon was banished here for a massacre that took place on Ruula. It's name was Giratina, a legendary ghost and dragon type that has been labeled the anti-Arceus by some.

How long had he been wandering now? He couldn't recall. Through the twisting web-way of the distortion world he floated. He didn't know if he was going forwards or backwards anymore. He didn't care. It seemed hopeless, but........no, he couldn't think that. He had to remain focused. He had to find it.

It was mocking him, he knew as much. It knew he was drifting into insanity. He couldn't let it get the better of him, but........the whispers........oh, the whispers, oh how they hurt. "Old fool." they whispered. "It's hopeless, I'm not going to let you find it, why should I? I'm just going to let you drown in your own misery, N'tuk. I'm going to watch you degenerate into insanity, because it amuses me."

"MY NAME IS NOT N'TUK!" He screeched in response. "MY NAME IS GIRATINA!" he swiftly regained his composure "You.........you can't do this. You're breaking every law set by the code. HE will find out soon enough, and he shall not be merciful."

The whispers laughed. "Ha!" they said. "Arceus? I am ready for him. He will burn because of the misery he has caused me. I have power now, power beyond your comprehension. I told you before, I am being sponsored."

"Sponsored by who?" Giratina demanded.

"Someone who, like me, wants to see Arceus and his false empire burn." they replied. "It's a pity that you aren't joining me. Arceus has caused you just as much misery as he has me."

"I forgave him long ago." Giratina said quietly, half to himself and half to the whispers. "Mark my words, tyrant, I shall find what I am looking for. Then I shall get out of here, and I shall warn the Hand."

"And that's why I am not letting you leave, N'tuk. Besides, even if I did, why would Arceus and his hand listen to you?" the whispers snarled. "Murderer......"

"WE ARE ALL GUILTY OF THE SAME CRIME!" Giratina screeched at the mist. "I shall not let you DEGRADE me in this manner. I once ruled here, but now you do. I have no qualms with that, for that is what the code dictates. But what you are doing........is not natural. I shall stop you. Even if Arceus won't listen to me, I shall find those who will. Humans and pokemon alike. I will take up arms against you AND your mysterious sponsor. You will NOT get away with this. NOW LEAVE ME TO MY MISERY!"

The whispers chuckled. "You will not prevail." They mocked. "But very well, I shall leave you alone. For now. Farewell, N'tuk." And the mist dispersed. Giratina continued on. He would find what he was looking for. Then he would make this tyrant pay.

Giratina was in tears now. It had just dawned on him. He'd been doing the same thing for 10 years now. Wandering through the Distortion World, looking for the one thing in existence that could finally bring him sanity. He couldn't leave until he found this 'thing', his tormentor wouldn't allow it. Besides, even if he could leave, his mind would stilll not be 100%. The only way he could be truly free of this perpetual madness was to find this object. Now that he thought about it, though, it was rather tempting to just leave. The veil between realities was thinning. Now that he looked at it, it was virtually transparent. As he peered through it, he saw the central hub of some sort of Metropolis. It reminded him of Castelia City. In the centre of it was a large memorial to some sort of war, but he didnt really care about that. In particular he saw a blonde, short haired woman. She seemed to stand out like a beacon from the rest of the crowd, and Giratina soon realised why. She was a Pokemon Trainer! He tried to call out, to get her attention, but all that came out was a pathetic yelp that was more befitting of a Butterfree than a legendary pokemon of ghosts and enwarpment. He could do this, he told himself, he could break through this wall. It was merely a thin sheet of nothing for him to plough through. He floated a few paces backwards, preparing himself for the great leap at hand.

"Don't even try it, N'tuk." the voices whispered from the shadows once more.

"Piss off" Giratina yelled at the gathering mists. He didn't give a damn about what the piece of filth that was keeping him here said. He swiftly glided towards the veil, and leapt....

He hit the veil, but it did not part. His head hit it with a painful crack, and this shockwave sent him flying back the way he came. Two blobs of shadow matter erupted from the slight tear Giratina had caused, and they fell to the ground with him.

Giratina lay on the shimmering stone, unmoving. Groaning, he twisted his head weakly to one side, towards the two shadow blobs.

The whispers laughed. "Don't say I didn't warn you, N'tuk." they mocked

The shadows began to shimmer and reshape themselves. At once they became two snarling wolflike creatures with blood red eyes. Giratina stared in horror. The tyrant had broken one of the most important rules set by the code; that only one type of pokemon could reside within the Distortion World, and that pokemon was Giratina. Also, Giratina had an immense phobia of these particular pokemon, and the tyrant knew this only too well, for he had read Giratina's mind.

Snarling, the two Mightyena raced up to Giratina and began to savage him with darkness - enhanced claws. Giratina could not move, a combination of weariness, pain and fear froze him to the spot. All he could do was scream, and he did so very loudly indeed. So loudly, in fact, that the sound rippled across the veil.......

The chaos realm was as Ty had promised it, and he stepped through, shape changing as soon as he was fully in it, to a nightmareish caricature of him, coloring, and proportions all wrong. He looked too long and too thing to be human here. The boy waited by the rip, scythe out to guard Kurt with as he kept an eye out for any beings that would cause them trouble. The curse, he noticed, floated a little ahead, but he didn't dare move to capture it, and leave the tear unguarded and open, or leave Kurt halfway between the two worlds.

Ty was many things, but he was not big on abandoning other. He knew better than to do something so atrocious. The world around them was a nightmare landscape. Kurt, he knew, might end up frightened.

Kurt stepped out of the rift, his magic armor shining as it instantly started reacting with the baneful energies of the environment. "Ugh. Ngh...you weren't kidding. This is...unbelievable. I can barely move against this pressure to take notes." Every step for Kurt felt like he was walking on the bottom of a lake, complete with the difficulty breathing. Not a good place for the elderly man.

"Let's...just...grab this thing and get out of here. I'm not sure how much I can take..."

High above, a long-bodied winged serpent let out an unearthly scream as it flew past.

Ty glanced up and bit his bottom lip, closing the tear. He carefully touched Kurt's shoulder and concentrated, a shield forming around the other. It would either makes things easier when ti came to moving, or harder, given it was a shield of chaos magic. "That should help. Come one." The boy hurried, moving with the ease of familiarity. "Ignore the scream. It's just Francis, or at least, I call him Francis. He never hurts anyone." So far as Ty knew, of course. His family lived here of course. Francis may dislike strangers to the realm. Ty hoped that wasn't the case. Carefully, the boy reach out, hand coated in chaos magic, and he grasped the curse, keeping an eye out on the world around them.

"Guard me? I can crystallize this, while we're here, but this place isn't safe." It wasn't a spell he could do when not in a realm completely saturated in chaos magic.

"I'll...I'll try..." Kurt managed with labored breath. The hounds with skulls were the good guys...but there were none to be found. Just that scary ass snake and its occasional screaming. Over in the distance, far below, was a waterfall that appeared to be flowing the wrong way as trees suddenly grew sideways out of a rock floating nearby. This place was weird, all right.

"T-Ty...whatever you're doing, make it quick. I can't hang on for much longer..." Kurt fell down to one knee, trying to stay ready for combat as his eyes suddenly became bloodshot, then healed just as quickly. He just prayed to whatever god ruled here that he wouldn't fall through the rock he was resting on to his destruction.

Fuck. Ty spared a moment to cuss as he say Kurt fall to one knee, and then worked, forcing the curse to a denser and denser cloud of magic until he could grip it in on hand, and then channeled a bit of sheer strength into it. He was significantly stronger here than anywhere else. Here, he nearly fed off the power of the magic around him. Kurt, it was clear, could barely even stand this world. In moments, a crystal, shaped rather like his own grip, was in his palm, and the boy hurried to his older self's friend. "K-Kurt?"

He moved to help the other up, scythe in his hand once more to tear into the barriers between the worlds. "Come on Kurt. The tear is super close. Just a few steps and you'll be through." Sometimes, the boy forgot how taxing his home realm was on others.

"I...I know...just a little more...my body can't travel like it did before..." His breathing was visibly labored as he coughed out purple smoke. The shrill wailing of the beast got louder, as if it could sense that a potential meal was getting away.

"Pull me through if you must. I have strength enough to hold onto the crystal...guh bluh BLARHHHHH!" Kurt managed to vomit up a greenish-blue substance from his mouth and nose. "H-hurry, please..." He was dragging his feet, but that was literally all he could manage at this point. A crystal he could handle. His own body's weight, not so much, even as the magical protection around his body began to flicker rapidly, like it was a sprite in a video game that had just taken a hit.

Fuck fuck fuck! Ty grabbed Kurt under either arm and pulled half throwing them out of the chaos realm. He wouldn't have strength in this world, not like he did before, but he managed to get them far enough out he could close the portal. Geez, Kurt was heavy. The teen lay sprawled under Kurt.
