Po'erava Jones yanked the keys from the ignition, once the car had jerked to a wreckless stop in the parking lot. It wasn't really her style to be such a breakneck driver, but hell, she was pissed. She'd been up late last night, writing a paper, when at 2 am a freak power outtage had killed the thing. She'd woken up 4 hours later to a job she was way too tired to go to. She was treated like crap by all the ignorant customers, and after a shift there, driven across town in ninety degree weather to basically do cleanup paperwork for her crap manager at the apartment complex. Really, she should have just gone home and relaxed. But she wanted to be out. After her day? She wanted a damn reward. She came in yanking her little purse up on her shoulder and surveying the place with a frown that she just couldn't shake. Thank god she was pretty. The construction outside gave her pause, but whatever, she was already here. She saw the bar from the doorway and zeroed on in like a trained professional.

Considering how late it had been when Diel had finally finished tucking himself up -- much like Ira would, but with a lot more struggling to keep one corner of a blanket tucked beneath himself whilst fixing another -- and finally dozed off, it was no surprise that he didn't wake up feeling all that refreshed, or accurately aware of where he was.

"Ira..?"

Nope. Ira wasn't here -- he was usually already in the room when Diel woke up anyway. So, up Diel struggled, wiping at his eyes with a balled up hand before blearily blinking at his surroundings.

"Aeryn?"

The sounds of activity would be audible to Diel from a door off to the right of the sofa, next to the stairs, leading to the kitchen. Movement of pans and pots, plates and glasses and the like as well as morning radio were all clear through the thin walls.

At the Takan's call, though, the noises quieted (apart from the radio, that continued to warble on), and were replaced with footsteps, before a young man poked his head out of the kitchen. He had brown hair and smooth, slightly effeminate features, and noticing Diel awake he gave the Takan a warm smile.

"Hi there!" he said, moving fully into the room. "I'm Elante, Aeryn's fiancée. Aeryn's still asleep, the lazy slob, but I'm just in the middle of making breakfast. Would you like some? I'm making bacon sandwiches at the moment, but we have cereal, toast, muffins... and, well, that's pretty much it, but I'm sure I can find something for you. Oh, and it's nice to meet you, by the way. Diel, isn't it?"

"Hi," the Takan responded automatically, sleep-blurred blue eyes on Elante for a few moments before he lowered his head to rub at them again. "M'Diel..." He wasn't sure exactly what it was he ate every day in sickbay, but... "Not hungry. Sorry," he mumbled, frowning at his own hands before lifting one to tousle it in his own hair. "S'not red, is it?"

Here we go, into the verbal and mental confusion that was completely and utterly Diel.

Elante blinked, shaking his head. "Nope, it's brown. Still." he said, wondering at the question. It was certainly an odd question. Maybe it was something to do with the species? Aeryn had mentioned that the tall man was an alien. "And that's fine, no need to apologise. I'm sure Aeryn will be all the happier that there's more for him."

The mage chuckled, "Well, I've got to go and finish breakfast for us two -- you can join me if you want, there's just about space for two." he offered, making to head back into the kitchen. "Or you can settle in -- the TV remote is on the coffee table, it should be on, you just have to take it off of standby."

Diel ran his hand awkwardly through his hair a few times -- that was good, then, that it wasn't red. Things went bad when it was red, the Takan had decided. "Okay," he replied, almost quite happily clambering out from beneath the blankets and staring at Elante before following him. "Headaches, TV."

Elante Vadrillion made his way into the kitchen where the smell of frying bacon was strong, sizzling and crackling on the hob. Elante picked up a discarded spatula from the worksurface and nudged at the rashes in the frying pan, flipping them over as he spoke.

"Oh, TV gives you a headache? Straight off? That sounds annoying." he said, one eyebrow raised. "How about a drink, by the way? We have milk, squash, coke, or there's just tap water."

The mage hummed along as the radio shifted from vaguely annoying chatter to a song - 'Firework' (because that was what had just come on the author's radioesque thing).

The Takan shook his head. "Flashes," he informed Elante seriously, raising a weary hand to make a flash-like movement with his fingers. "Head hurts after." He hovered idly over Elante's shoulder, scowling at the bacon uncertainly whilst is snapped and popped. "Noisy food," he sniffed. "Milk?"

Diel's confusion over milk was soon waylaid by the radio -- what the hell was that?

Elante Vadrillion nodded at Diel's explanation. His eyes must be sensitive to light, or something. The mage laughed at Diel's apparent interest in the bacon, nodding. "It's the fat crackling," he explained, "Frying tends to produce that sort of noise."

Leaving the pan for a moment, Elante opened the fridge door and produced a bottle of milk. "You want milk?" he asked, "Or was that a general 'what is milk'?"

"Fat?" Like, big people? "Frying big people?" he asked, grimacing. Diel then blinked as the fridge was opened at the light came on -- oh grief, what was that?! "Light!" he squeaked, pointing a hand at the fridge. "Milk, light? Comes from light?" He really was like a four year old, it would seem. "Why?"

Elante Vadrillion giggled. "Nono, the fridge has a light in it -- it keeps things cold, like a cold cupboard, and the light comes on so you can see what's inside. Milk comes from cows - animals."

Elante shook his head at Diel's question about 'fat' "No, fat as in..." Elante held up a piece of bacon that wasn't being cooked, pointing at the fat on it. "Excess fat -- seeing as bacon is meat from a pig, as well as the meat you have excess fat. Fat refers to a substance as well as being a description for obesity."

Elante smiled. Diel really was quite likeable, he decided, if a little confused about... well, everything.

Diel nodded his head -- ooh, he understood now! "Fat keeps you warm," he chirped, clasping his hands in front of himself, "and keeps food! Like a camel!" He hadn't ever seen a camel, but they had come up in conversation before. "Ob'sity isn't good," he added with a wrinkle of his nose. The first time he had seen an obese person, he'd been entirely repulsed!

Elante Vadrillion nodded "That's it." he said, smiling. "Do you want a glass of milk, then?" he asked. The mage placed the bottle down for a moment to tend to the bacon, sliding a couple of plates over with slices of toast on.

Carefully he lifted the bacon over and slotted it onto the toast, before adding ketchup and sandwiching it in. He turned back to the fridge for some juice, which he poured into two glasses, before looking questioningly at Diel, awaiting an answer about the milk.

"Okay." He wasn't sure what exactly 'mill' was -- other than something to drink, if it came in a glass... "Thank you," Diel added, with a nod of his head. "Very nice, like Rell. Not like Tara, Tara's not nice, Rell is. Migel and Ira, too."

"Mkay..." Elante poured out the glass of milk and handed it to Diel with a smile. The mage let the names fly over his head, rather than inquiring, and turned to sort the plates and juices onto a tray.

"Right, time to go and wake Aeryn up..." Elante murmured, smirking. Hefting the tray, the mage started to make his way towards the stairs. "Feel free to come up and say good morning, though Aeryn really isn't a morning person. You can use the shower if you want, too."

Diel was far too busy investigating his glass of milk to even notice that Elante was talking to him, but he did automatically appear to just follow Elante regardless of the fact that his eyes were on his glass.

"S'white," he noted aloud. "Like a cow!"

Elante Vadrillion laughed as he walked, nodding. "Mhm, like a cow. Bits of a cow anyway." he said idly, padding his way up the stairs. On the landing, Elante stepped past the first door and paused at the second, kicking at the door with one foot.

"Rise and shine, love! Breakfast!" he called, before shoving the door open with a bump of his hips. Walking inside, the mage approached the bed and smirked at Aeryn's dazed state, perching on the edge and placing the tray down. "Say good morning to our guest, honey."

"Hrnnnng..."

Aeryn blinked blearily at the voice coming through his door, before blinking further as Elante walked inside... mmmm. Elante had bacon. Aeryn decided that this was going to be a good morning. Or was it the afternoon? He could never be sure. Elante normally woke him up before the afternoon, though (the bastard), so he guessed morning.

"Mhh.. morning." he murmured, before frowning. Guest? Ohhh yeah. "Morning Diel." he added, yawning and stretching out beneath the covers, rubbing his bare upper arms. "s'cold." he noted as Elante sat, eyeing the food hungrily.

"It's times like this, when you bring me bacon, that I love you extra special." the Silvis said, grinning sleepily.

Diel bit his lip whilst hovering beside the door, glass of milk clutched between two hands at his chest. "Hello! I have milk," he crowed happily, head tilted at the Silvis. "Bacon makes people love?" Good grief.

"Are you naked?" he then proceeded to ask whilst peering at the way his milk sloshed in the glass. "Lots of people naked, in their beds... Usually with someone. Were you naked by yourself? Or..."

Elante Vadrillion laughed, shaking his head. "No, Aeryn just likes bacon a lot, so he exaggerates. Though, people can love because someone does that sort of nice thing frequently, bringing breakfast in bed, flowers, that sort of thing."

Elante smiled fondly, before snickering at Diel's question. "Pretty sure he is, unless things have changed since I got up." he said, grinning and patting Aeryn on the leg through the covers. That answered the second half of the question too, conveniently.

Aeryn grinned from where he lay, wiggling his toes out the other end of the covers. "As a whistle. But that aside, bacon." he said, shuffling back and using a pillow as a rest to sit upright (being careful about the duvet and his modesty, mind, seeing as there was a guest), before tucking into a bite of his sandwich.

"Mmff..." he began, before deciding that communicating with a mouth full of bacon really wasn't going to happen. A few moments of eating later, and he tried again. "And being naked by yourself is just boring." The silvis grinned, "Hence, Elante." he prodded the mage in the arm teasingly, "Food and sex, for the win." he teased.

Diel tilted his head. "Lots of bacon make people love." He'd use that later, surely. "Naked as a whistle?" You got whistles with clothes. Diel grimaced, apparently extremely worried by the revelation that whistles were supposed to be clothed!

"Clothes?" The Takan's grimace only seemed to get worse, and he promptly hid his expression by looking down at his milk again. He had yet to taste it, seemingly too worried to do so.
