Langara is the capital of the Aschen Empire. The terrain of this geologically young world is fairly temperate, alpine climates at the higher latitudes, and tropical climates near the equator. Langara has an average temperature of 43.6 Degrees Fahrenheit, and has a 74% Nitrogen and 22.5 Percent Oxygen, the flora of this world is indistinguishable from that of Terra, and the world is not terribly alien in appearance.
Langara is the fourth planet in it's system, in the outer edge of the Sun's habitable zone.
Langara has seven continents and three oceans, and is home to the original twelve Aschen nations.
Langaran Continents.

"I got another Job Offer, they want to put me in Section One." She said, motioning to the file at his feet. "Apparently there's still someone out there who cares, but I wonder what the Terrans would do?"
"...as for the Terrans, I'd encourage you to come back to the NPA. Course, seeing as how George is involved in your life again, I know that's unlikely. Just do what feels right. It might do you some good to stay in the Confederation for a while."
"I'm in a bind because I haven't heard jack from the NPA in regards to a hearing, they want to put me away, hell they probably want to put me in a looney bin... at least LDA Looks after it's own."
"You almost done yet, Angel?" Randin called out, rolling his eyes, "you said you'd be out..." A quick check at his watch. "...TEN minutes ago. I'd have a beer to pass the time, but I imagine there'll be plenty of that when when we hit the streets."
"Here." She said quietly before she approached him, handing him a single white and red sheet and a golden clip. "This is proper Saturnalia attire, it's an ancient holiday that must be observed as such." She mused, handing him the sheet. "Go get changed, or you'll stick out like a sore thumb, ever been to a Toga party in a Terran college?" She added.
"...you want me to wear THIS?" Randin objected, measuring the sheet to his body, "I'll... I'll look ridiculous! C'mon!" He rolled his eyes. "Toga parties in college? Really? I'll tell you what I did in college: I drank a shit-load of whiskey and got D's in every class except Criminal-Justice and Woman's Health... and that pass in 'Woman's Health' was only because I was dating the TA for the first semester."
"Io, Saturnalia, Aveo!" She said in Anquietas. "Go put the Toga on, so we can hit the city, the Parties should be starting." She said, before she rummaged through a drawer for a moment, sizing him up. "Hmm... Ares or Athena? Ares.." She said, tossing him a silver figurine of Ares. "You'll find out that we're human too, very... hedonist humans." She said, running a finger across his chest. "Nos celebrare Deos!" She shouted in what sounded like Latin before running out in a flurry of fabric and bright colors onto the county road towards her white SUV.
"Where are we headed to first, anyway?" he asked once he was caught up to the woman, a faint smile evident on his face. It was a bit exciting, after all. Randin couldn't remember the last time he'd let himself kick-back and have a good time... and now was the perfect moment. He was on a foreign planet in the midst of their most wild holidays. No duties as an officer to look forward to the next day. No responsibilities lingering in the back of his mind. Tonight, it was just himself, half-naked Marlene Angel, and all the ambrosia Langara could offer.
It was gonna be a good night.
There were people in the streets, Traffic had ground to a standstill, and people were out in Togas, naked, fornicating, drinking and even bathing in the streets of the city. The gutters were lined with discarded clothing, trash, and other items of various forms. Slowly, Marlene got out, allowing a brisk sea breeze to carry in the pungent smell of vehicle fumes, sweat, body-odors, and alcohol.
People were dancing, frolicking, there was even a half naked, drunk woman with a police hat and baton, dancing with a drunk officer of the law.
Marlene simply offered Randin a wide grin.
"Io, Saturnalia."
"Where to first, Angel?" Randin strided over to the girl, "I'm following your lead on this. Just promise me I won't get boned by a gay-guy in the mosh-pits..."
"We have three weeks of this, Mr. Kaye!" She said, as the crowd roared over the animal sacrifices.
"...well do we get t'eat them or somethin' at the end?" Randin quirked an eyebrow. Waiste of a perfectly good pig. The ambrosia was good, however. While Randin would still prefer whiskey, the Aschen nectar was a good liquor in its own right.
A young woman was being led up the steps of the temple, and just before they passed the street, a priest began to brutally stab her in a ritualistic sacrifice atop an altar. The people cheered and shouted when the brutal execution began, and like the pigs, blood was slung out into the crowds.
It would be amazing just how brutal a civilized and modern society could be, showing a Pagan barbarism not unlike ancient Rome.
It didn't phase the blonde, rather, she grabbed Randin and pinned him against a large SUV, the 150 Proof Ambrosia would work quickly on an empty stomach, and so Marlene grinned. "I like you, Randin, I think you're kinda cute."
Before he could continue, Randin suddenly found himself up against a car. The detective quirked an eyebrow at Marlene, grinning slightly as his hands rested on the woman's curved hips. "...well thanks, darling. You're not so bad yourself." Randin laughed softly, attempting to bring himself off the side of the SUV slowly. "...I think the Ambrosia must be setting in ya', though. I've never heard y'compliment me, before."
"Have more!" She said happily, her world spinning in the flurry of fabrics, and colors. "They don't party like this on terra! I can tell you that!"
Swinging herself around, she pointed to an alleyway.
"Come on, Randin, let's have some fun!" She said, practically dragging him into the alleyway for their own Saturnalia festivities, and perhaps to pass out afterwards, as Ambrosia was a rather powerful drink, both a potent intoxicant, and a light hallucinogen.
Should they pass out after celebrating together, a brilliant white-blue light would wake them hours later, and a Tawa Police officer would be standing over them.
"You two Lovebirds still alive?"
It was dawn, and though there were still festivities, they had largely died down.
The first thing he noticed was Marlene Angel nestled warmly into his chest, sleeping soundly. Ah yes... THAT'S what had happened. Saturnalia.
"Ah... I think we're okay, officer," Randin said slowly, blinking rapidly, "...uh... what time is it? God, how long have we been out?"
"Can I get some Identification and can you submit to a Retinal scan please?" The Officer said firmly.
"Hey, Angel," he said softly, "...where's our ID's? I think my passport is in the SUV."
The Officer simply narrowed his eyes. "Retinal scan, now." He ordered before holding up a pen like device, flashing both their eyes.
"Randin Kaye, Wing City Police Department, Tourism Clearance Diplomacy visa, verify." He said before he turned to Marlene.
"Marlene Angel, Family Culture Visa, verify." He said, and Marlene calmly nodded. "Yes Occifer..." She moaned, sitting there without clothing, having used her Toga and some trash as a makeshift bed.
The Officer simply nodded. "You both check out, under normal circumstances, I'd ask how much you've had to drink, but as it's Saturnalia, I'm only questioning you per ACSRA, Since you two Check out, have a nice day." He said, walking back to his Patrol car.
"Ugh... did we?" She then stopped a moment. "Sweet mother of Artemis and Aphrodite! Holy frak!" She screamed and then held her face. "I can't remember anything last night... I think someone slipped something in that Ambrosia.."
"Marlene..." Randin began slowly, looking down at the girl stretched over his torso, "...what the HELL happened last night?"
"I have absolutely.. no memory of what happened last night.. I just remember waking up.. head pounding, next to you.." She muttered, now leaning against a concrete wall.
"I've been living on Terra far too long.. I used to be able to take Saturnalia in stride.."
"...look let's just... get back to your house, alright? Let's take a shower and get this all sorted out."
