The Multiverse

Setting

Tucked away down a quaint alley, Michael's and the buildings it is nestled in predate Valentine Inc's arrival in Aziora. A long polished bar extends down the right hand wall when you enter, four brick archways mirror it on the first floor of what used to be an exterior wall of one of the buildings. Two of these arches are backed with finely crafted alcoves of wood and glass each had three tables for two. A glass roof above spans what was once open sky to let natural light in. Strait ahead is a simple yet elegant staircase leading to a second floor wine room that wraps around above the bar, encased in glass to show off the vast selection. To the left of the archways is a large dining area with a large fireplace.

The staff takes your jacket, adjusts your chair, and makes sure all of your needs are attended to.

Lunch is served à la carte and dinner is served in four, five, or six courses in the dining room or à la carte at the bar.

A company car had taken them to Michael's Tavern, tucked in old Aziora. The maitre d' led Sandra and Russian to a table in one of the alcoves, while not necessarily a reserved table, it was generally held open for Valentine Inc. business as a courtesy. "Your table Ms. Lincoln. Sir."

"Thank you Andy." she nodded and took a seat. "This place has been here since before Valentines Inc. Cedric says it's the reason he decided on Aziora to plant his business roots." she smiled as the waiter brought over a bottle, before he could name it Sandra motioned to pour, "What ever Andy suggested is fine, thank you."

"I have to admit, I would move a multi-trillion dollar corporation half way across the galaxy for this service."

Russian whistled to himself as he sat at the table. “So, do you happen to give every guest the V.I.P treatment? Or better yet, are you used to drunken guys going off about random things to hope to sweeten a deal? Or is it more flirty behavior? You won’t see that from me, livers strong enough to even rival a black hole.” He asked as he laughed.

Sandra smiled politely, "We have a very high threshold of standards in the tower." she took a sip of the wine, "And we like to have a good time."

Turning her attention back to the waiter, "We'll do five, wouldn't want out guest to think he's getting to much VIP treatment." she smiled at Russian, "I'll have the duck."

“I’ll take a burger. Nothing wrong with the classics in my opinion.” Russian gave his order before sitting back. “Toning down the treatment eh? Not that I don’t mind, getting to formal in my opinion.” He commented.

"That's the world we live in here. You have to understand, you are something of a unique player in this level of business. Most people who can supply what you can don't spend their time getting into fire fights and hunting bounties." she leaned back slightly. "They spend time spending their money."

After a moments thought and a couple of sips if wine she continued, "You get used to it. But, I have to say, it can be a curse." another sip, "but there's certainly enough alcohol to self meditate that particular curse."

“Yeah, some people are content on sitting on their asses all day when they got money to burn. But honestly...I first started out at a Mercanary and doing some bounties for the government. Once you did a year of that stuff you never really leave that business. Be a shame to sell mechs and weapons when you don’t even get to use them yourself. I loved mechs in my early years, will love them until I die.” Russian spoke with a chuckle.

He soon took a sip before speaking again. “The stuff you see on the job can get brutal, weird, or even downright strange. There’s also random perks and demerits in the occupation as well...But, once you get used to it you can stare a god in the face like he is another human being and give him or her the middle finger and tell them to shove it.” He laughed at that.

“Certainly takes a lot of beer after doing that when you get your ass knocked two ways to Sunday...Woth it when you show him what’s for...”

Unnamed Car arrives, as if on queue.
"Old Hovercar" engages its warp drive, vanishing before your eyes.
