Morta IV

Morta IV is a large galaxy (about 50% larger than The Milky Way) and contains numerous planets within it, a good deal of which are inhabited or at least livable. Most of the galaxy is still in late medieval tech with gunpowder becoming readily available and modern/futuristic weaponry being rare in all places but the most advanced planets such as Heion, the technological center of Morta IV and the planet coveting all of the advanced tech for their own uses.

Transportation between planets is not entirely cut off however as Dimensional Gates are formed through a magical essence that creates a portal, leading to entirely new planets or even realms (such as Heaven or Hell, with the right finagling with the magic). This ability to freely roam from planet to planet is much more convenient than starships and is much less costly. Some of these portals are set up within major cities within planets and maintained weekly by the court Wizards to ensure everything is running smoothly and so travel can continue.
