The Multiverse

Setting

Installation 11032 Sector Aslund, Terra.

Current Owner: Taiyou Empire
Current Occupant(s): None

This Terran Conflict era installation is a massive Aschen military complex that was intended to house, shelter, and supply the bulk of Aschen forces on Terra during the Terran Conflict and the subsequent occupation of Terra.

However, this particular bunker complex was not commissioned by the AHSC, rather the LDA, and is therefore much smaller than the sister complexes that dot Terra's surface.

This 1,500 square foot installation sits under 30 meters of earth, and behind a 3 meter thick solid trinnium reinforced plascrete blast door at the entrance, and two additional 2 meter thick Trinnium blast doors designed to withstand and mitigate a direct nuclear blast.

However, the complex was abandoned by the Aschen Military following the Second Terran Conflict, and officially decommissioned by the Empire following GWI. The Installation has since been commandeered as a safehouse by various Taiyou agencies operating on Terra, due to it's inconspicuous and fortified location.

The Complex itself is roughly five miles to the south of Wing City, off a small dirt road and accessible through a manhole hatch and elevator shaft. The Facility is also accessible via monorail into the main Wing City sewers, which allowed Agents to move freely into the city.

Command and Control Center

The Command and Control center, at the center of the complex is the nerve center of the entire operation. Used by the Aschen to monitor communications across Terra, as well as coordinate deployments and ship traffic, the Command Center also runs control of two off site missile silos, each containing a 150 Megaton fusion warhead.

The Command Center was re-purposed by the Taiyou, but many of it's original functions and capabilities remain intact.

Living Quarters, Armory, and Ready Rooms

Living quarters in facilities like these were fairly basic, with a self contained food supply, a common area, and sleeping facilities (3 bunks per bed, 4 beds per room). The Common Area featured somewhere to do laundry, a cooking area, table for food, and a supply pantry, as well as access to a hallway that led to the Infirmary, rec rooms, and the Armory, as well as the deployment garage, and the Monorail.

The Armory was a large room that housed the facility's weapon complement. This particular facility carried enough weapons to arm a small strike force, however the Armories were cleared out when the Aschen decommissioned the bunker. The Taiyou have since restocked the armory of this particular installation with various weapons, such as assault rifles, LMGs, handguns, sniper rifles, AT weapons, a variety of combat gear, vests, armor, grenades, and much more.

The Infirmary/Sickbay

This was one of the few things the Aschen managed to leave behind when they decommissioned the bunker. Likely because they had planned to reactivate it at a later date. The Sickbay features two AutoDoc machines, specialized Aschen surgical machines designed to mitigate serious trauma and repair life threatening injuries prior to being placed in immersion. The AutoDoc is capable of performing everything from physical examinations, to brain surgery, and comes packed with a powerful Castiana platform AI serves as the bunker's Emergency Medical Doctor in the event that a doctor or technician is unavailable or wounded. This user friendly system allows even the most basic of Aschen personnel to perform life saving medical tasks in the event of attack or disaster.

Garage:

The Aschen Complex would not be combat able or complete without a garage, the garage of this installation is capable of housing 15 vehicles, 3 Armored vehicles, or 5 Armored personnel carriers, in adddition, it is capable of housing two Myrmidon HBTs, but currently is repurposed by the Taiyou to house Tachikomas, Armored Suits, and Tsunami Tanks as well as a single Sudden Transport to escape offworld.

The Garage sports a large holding area, as well as an undergound lift that brings vehicles up to the surface under artificial foliage and a false ground for camouflage.

Once they were through the door, they would find themselves on a fairly long Monorail ride until Motoko cracked the doors to an old Aschen Bunker.

"We should be safe in here." She said with a nod as the massive blast door rumbled open, revealing the interior. "First thing we need to do is get her to an AutoDoc in the infirmary, that'll patch her up." She said, pulling the wounded woman out of the Tram.

"Help me get her to the Infirmary." The Major said, checking around once more, the blast doors closing behind them with an audible thunk.

"I got her," Randin nodded, supporting Aeka and taking her towards the infirmary.

"What the hell is Shimizu thinking..." he muttered as they walked down the halls, "...attacking his own sister on the streets of the city... he's gone crazy. There's no way the emperor won't hear about this."

"Let's assume for a moment that the Emperor is even still alive." Motoko said, moving to set the Stretcher down on one of the Infirmary's beds once they reached the Infirmary. The bed happened to be one of the AutoDocs, and almost as soon as Aeka was placed on the bed the Autodoc went to work.

Two bright lights flickered on overhead as several screens turned on, heart rate, breathing, blood oxygen, everything had been displayed on screens as a young woman appeared in the medical bay.

"Emergency Medical Assistant activated, Please state the nature of the medical emergency." The woman said, clad in what could be described as an Aschen Doctor's labcoat.

Motoko chuckled and then turned to Randin. "Aschen are good for something." She then turned to the Doctor. "This girl had a shrapnel wound to the stomach." She said, and the Hologram nodded.

"Analyzing injuries... Standby." Motoko then slowly stepped back, and turned to Randin.

"Let's hope we can save her otherwise the Emperor has no case..."

The AutoDoc then smiled.

"Ah! Let's see here.. perforated intestinal tract, severe internal bleeding, severe abdominal trauma, severe lung trauma, perforated stomach, severe trauma to the arms and legs..." She then turned to Motoko and Randin.

"Initiating emergency surgery..." She said, and several robotic arms began to descend from the bay above the bed, attaching IVs into Aeka's arm, while scalpels, hemostats, and various other surgical instruments quickly began to make laser incisions on the body.

"Anasthesia has been administered, as well as Nanite cocktail..." The AutoDoc said calmly as the robotic arms quickly began to remove Shrapnel from the body, while repairing the wound.

"Estimated time to stabilization, six millicentons." The AutoDoc said, while Motoko frowned.

"I don't know about you... but I couldn't help but feel like we were being followed." She said, turning to Randin.

"Once Aeka has been treated, we'll arm up and hole up here until I can raise Aramaki."

"I always feel like that..." Randin grumbled, looking over his shoulder. "...can Aramaki still help us? If Shimizu's reach has gotten as far as you say, he may already have his fingers in Section Nine." He shook his head. "Hell, he was willing to kill you, in cold blood, in front of a tavern full of witnesses. Who's to say he won't try something just as bold with the rest of the Imperial loyalists?"

His hand lingered over the magnum at his side, his finger tracing along the cylindrical edges of his magnum's chamber. "Bastard. I knew I didn't trust him the moment I laid eyes on him..."

"I don't know if Aramaki can help us, I don't know how far the coup has progressed, or if the Emperor managed to put a stop to it."

Motoko frowned a moment.

"For all I know Section 9 was disbanded and the Umibozu are hunting us like common terrorists." She added, and a few moments went by and the AutoDoc chimed.

"You know how to use these things?" She asked as she went over to the armory across the hall, opening one of the lockers and pulling out a Disruptor rifle. The model was an older one, having been left behind despite the Aschen having cleared out most of the Arms.

"I have no clue how to use one of these." The Major remarked, before she racked the bolt of a Seburo MN23 Assault rifle. "I know you like your magnums..." She said, looking to Aeka.

"If it wasn't for this AutoDoc, I don't think she'd survive."

"Marlene showed me a thing or two," Randin nodded, "I'm proficient with most disruptor archetypes and old-model combat skins." He patted his Dragon Fang. "I prefer true-n-tried lead and steel, but if we're still not in the clear, another gun never hurts." He handled the disruptor, checked the microfusion chamber and slung the weapon over his shoulder.

"Some shields would be nice," he remarked, "I'm conveniently not even remotely armored." He looked back at Aeka, his face softening. She looked peaceful inside the AutoDoc. A sort of innocence surrounded her.

"We'll make it out of this, Motoko," Randin nodded. "No one else dies. Shimizu gets brought to justice and all those who conspired with him."

"I wish I shared your optimism, Kaye." She said, stepping out of the infirmary for a few more moments, and coming back with an Aschen made Ceramite Vest, and a bandoleer of Microfusion Cells and a few plasma grenades.

"None of the Taiyou stuff is going to fit you, this is all the Aschen equipment I had taken stock of." She said, gesturing to the Armor.

"It's not much but it's better than nothing. I don't think anyone's getting into this bunker, but we can't stay here forever." Motoko said calmly.

"There's about a year's worth of food here, most of it's left over from the Aschen but I've been stocking some dried goods during my time here. We need to sit and plan, we need to figure out what we're going to do if Shimizu's taken control."

"If Shimizu has control of the Empire, then the last place we want to take Aeka is Niihama," Randin shook his head. "I doubt he he assumed power without facing resistance, though. There has to be protesting shoguns. We find where the central force of loyalist resistance lies and we take her there." He nodded. "Conversely, we could take her to the other nations. The Terrans. Varden. Aschen. I doubt Shimizu's claim to the throne will look terribly legitimate once Aeka's told her story."

Checking a computer terminal on the hallway, Motoko simply shrugged, before she turned back to face Randin.

"If Shimizu has taken control of the Empire, then we have already lost." The Major rebuked, and then she checked her rifle.

Motoko made a face as Randin started mentioning the other nations. "The Aschen would be a possibility, if there wasn't so much animosity between us and them; they would twist this situation to their benefit... The Varden and the Taiyou don't really see eye to eye either..." Motoko retorted.

"I thought about the Shintenchi Shogunate... but we'll have to see." Motoko said, starting down the hall.

"We need to find and make contact with the Emperor, we can then move on Shimizu."

"And how are we supposed to do that?" Randin replied, "for all we know, Shimizu's got him locked under chain and key. Besides, he's in another galaxy right now. Not exactly the easiest cowboy to get a hold of."

The Major gave Randin a smirk, before she checked the microfusion cell in the Disruptor rifle.

"We can't hide in this bunker forever." She commented, before she tried to formulate an idea.

"Randin, get cleaned up and put on one of these uniforms, I've got a plan." Motoko said as she started into an adjacent living quarter, checking the fit on her Ceramite vest and Imperial Aschen combat suit.

"Check your gear, secure the princess, get cleaned up we're moving out."

"Let's hope this thing fits," Randin held up the uniform suspiciously. He'd never worn Imperial colors before.

He shot a worried look at Motoko as she held up a combat suit. "...and let's hope that you know what the hell you're getting us into..."

He tore off button-down and suited up.

Motoko smiled some as she took in the sights for a moment.

"You look good in Aschen colors." She said, slinging the Disruptor over her shoulder before she unfolded a map and pslayed it across a table.

"Alright... we'll need to go back to Wing City, i've got a ship there we can use to get off world, from there we can try and locate the Emperor and I can make contact with the chief." She explained, pointing to the spaceport on the map.

"If we move quietly and discreetly, we'll blend in and look like a couple of Imperial soldiers, I'll disguise Aeka as a refugee or a prisoner. The question is, can you play the part?"

"You mean play an arrogant, xenophobic, racist prick with no regard for the lives of anyone outside his own species?" Randin grinned devilishly. He clacked his disruptor rifle. "I think I can manage."

He nodded towards her combat skin. "What are you then, my lieutenant?"

Motoko nodded, and then gestured to a pair of insignia.

"You're a Corporal, I'm a sergeant. We need to make this believable, especially if we run into Imperial Soldiers on our way to Wing City... we need to seem like we're one of them so they'll protect us if we run into trouble. I've got documents.. they won't work with the Imperial Registry but they should keep them from questioning us too extensively." Motoko added.

"I'm going to get the Princess, there's an IFV in the garage, get it warmed up for me." She said, gesturing to the Aschen Lynx IFV parked in the bunker's Garage complex.

Of course, unlike Terran vehicles, the controls of the IFV were entirely in Anquietas, the blocky native Aschen text could be seen labeling gauges and dials, as well as scrolling on Holograms.

Motoko quickly turned to leave, heading to the infirmary to check on the Princess.

Randin nodded. "Yeah, I gotcha. 'Yahrens', not years. 'Centons' not minutes. 'Hail the Shadow.' 'Get your filthy xenos hands off me before I charge you with heresy.'" He grinned. "See? I'm already a natural."

He walked over to the IFV and hopped inside. Luckily, Randin read and spoke Anquietas - not as fluently as Argosian, but damn better than he did Taiyou. He had the vehicle started quickly.

Driving it, of course, was another matter. Hopefully Motoko knew how to work this thing.
