The ship in the lead, known as the CU Henderson, grimly accepted the response, and sent another message.

Start transmission. Understood. We are in violation of your laws, although we had no former knowledge of said laws. We, however, will not leave until our request has been met. We are powering down our weapons and will wait here, as long as it is required for our people to be released. We withdraw our former statement, but if any harm comes to that crew, we shall attack. These are our demands, and this is our decision. What are yours? End transmission.

They do, indeed, power down their main energy weapons. Most of the fighters stay where they are, with half of them withdrawing and returning to their vessel. The two lighter carrier ships move until they are equal with the Henderson.

The three ships sit, in the silent void of space.

The Admiral stared grimly at the console as EVE translated their response. This wasn't good enough, so she had to draw up plans to attack, while she waited for the Intelligence officers to extract the location of their homeworld. She would bide the time to analyze the enemy ships capabilities, while the Harbinger of Piety's ECW Suite began making attempts to hack into the Oberon ships over wireless communications, probing their electronic defenses, analyzing firewalls, and broadcasting an intruder program which piggybacked on their reply.

"Standby while we consider our options." If the Oberon commander accepted the transmission, the Intruder program would silently begin working on their systems, creating back doors for Aschen information warfare officers to begin their hacks.

She looked up to the holographic display, two of the Iconoclast battleships were taking up position at the rear of the alien ships, roughly 1,500 kilometers away, which was danger close to Aschen standards.

Each of the two Iconoclast Battleships were five and a half kilometers in length, each of their eight Onager type superMAC batteries were trained on the three ships, and each individual cannon was capable of hurling a ten thousand ton ferric-tungsten slug at near relativistic velocities, the Aschen were confident that they could put rounds clean through even the hardiest ship.

Each of these batteries were mounted on large turrets, and locked in place. The three ships would find themselves outnumbered, and surrounded, with initial data coming in that there was some strange subspace field surrounding them. FTL would be impossible at this point, both outgoing, and incoming as the Aschen's Planck Packs enveloped the entire area inside an impermeable anti-FTL field which prevented any faster than light travel, in our out of the bubble. All it took was a single order, for each of the Aschen ships to dispense overwhelming firepower against the Oberon vessels.

A moment later, a Hesperides class drone carrier slipped in behind the formation of Iconoclast battleships, it didn't waste any time, as millions of Furie class attack drones poured from the belly of this large vessel, in the form of a writhing tentacle, or a school of fish, and was slowly extending outwards towards the Oberon fighters. Each Furie class drone was armed with four 30mm Thraxon MECS Autocannons which fired a dense depleted-uranium cored ferric-tungsten kinetic weapon at hyper velocities.

Aboard the Harbinger of Piety, inside the Detention Block, Kathryn promptly returned to Paul's cell, this time with two Marines in tow, one of the Marines was carrying a large briefcase, while another was carrying restraints. As the cell door slammed shut behind them, Kathryn hardened her gaze.

"I need to know the exact coordinates of your home worlds." She demanded, tossing a felt marker, and a notepad at Paul's feet.

Something about the agent's demeanor changed, from annoyance, to something else, the demeanor of the Marines changed too.

Paul sensed that something had changed, and looks down at the notepad at his feet.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I can do that. I would likely be tried as a traitor to my nation. And I would probably need my ship's navigation system to show you anyways."

Onboard the three Oberon ships, the message is recieved and translated. About twenty seconds later an alarm is tripped, and each of the operational crew at the bridge are alerted that their security was being opened up by some sort of virus. At around the same time, they were alerted that a swarm of objects were approaching them, and quickly.
This was when it became apparent to the Oberon on board the CU Henderson that the Aschen were almost clearly going to attempt an attack.

The two smaller carriers prepare their main guns, three heavy railguns that fired rounds as large as 1 meter, as the virus on board the Henderson is isolated and stopped. The Henderson broadcasts another message to the Aschen, being sure to now isolate their communications program from the rest of the databanks. The next transmitted message was as follows.

"Start transmission. It has become apparent to us that you have hostile intent. As already explained, we do not wish to fight or come into contact any further with your people, but will engage in combat if pushed to do so. You have been given permission to interrogate the captive Oberon in any way you see fit, as they have unwillingly trespassed into an area under your jurisdiction. It may be advised that you inform them of the fact that they have been ordered by the Colonial Union itself to comply, as they likely will be hesitant to do so. If anything else is required of us or of your captives, you may ask. We do not wish to engage in hostile activities with your nation. End transmission.

Although they say this, they are fully prepared to fight, more out of paranoia than anything.

"UCFS Thunderstorm" appears from nothing, through a wrinkle in spacetime.
Tybalt Capori arrives, coming from Langara.
Tybalt Capori ascends towards The Aschen Core.

Seventy orbs are fired out of a cannon from the CU Henderson. They jet silently towards the Aschen vessel before cracking open and ejecting individuals in armored space suits. They use jets mounted on their backs to manuever even closer, with fifteen of the SARC guys using EMP and particle grenades to attempt and mask their advance.

Fortunately for the Aschen cruisers, and rather unfortunately for the Oberon rescuers, the Reverences powerful wide spectrum sensor array, and powerful AI began intercepting, and calculating trajectories for the incoming ordinance.

Admiral Whitcomb sneered before she keyed up the three ships, and surveyed them quietly on the large holographic projection in front of her.

"Admiral." Eve reported. "It appears they have launched some sort of boarding system, current trajectory and velocity will enable them to pass through our shields." The AI reported, highlighting the approaching soldiers. Despite the interference they were trying to put out, they could be seen clear as day.

Whitcomb sneered again, and then highlighted one of the three ships.

"Return fire, turbo disruptors, full charge." The Admiral ordered.

"No.." she scowled.

"Wipe them out." She said, her voice darkening.

"All of them."

---

It only took a moment for orders to disseminate across the Imperial fleet, the Drones began to swarm around, moving towards the contingent of armored marines, once within range they would form a defensive screen for the Aschen capital ship, and open fire with the intent of eviscerating the armored Marines.

The attack was two pronged, the last thing the incoming Marines would see as they neared the Reverence were gun batteries discharging, emanating a brilliant green flash that was blinding to those without adequate protection. A stream of brilliant green energy seared towards one of the Oberon ships, boiling away metal, and shields alike on impact, unleashing the equivalent of a fourteen megaton nuke against the hull of the enemy ship should it strike true.

Aschen weapons would reposition to follow up with another attack immediately after.

As the cannons fire into the boarding crew, men and women alike are shredded as they advance.

As soon as the disruptor hits one of the two smaller ships, completely annihilating it, the CU Henderson and second gunship open fire.
They fire large magnetically accelerated and sharpened steel rods, at about 640 miles per hour. As the rods impact, it is not apparent if they pierce the shielding of the ship.

Harry Anderson, also known as SARCL-5674, was hanging back from the front of the boarding group, and wasn't immediately decimated by the force.

After the first pass, the Furie drones swing back wide, while the incoming projectiles strike a milky white curtain of light, and are destroyed just before hitting the ship's hull.

Admiral Whitcomb was amused slightly, surely the opposing forces understood the futility of their situation.

"Eve, target the second vessel, make ready and fire." The Admiral ordered plainly, and without emotion.

Slowly the gargantuan guns of the Carrier began to adjust their trajectory, Anderson would find his course unimpeded as the drones swing back around. With an unusual static sensation, Harry would pass through the ship's shields and hit the smooth hull, which seemed to subtly ripple and deform under his weight, the hull was also non magnetic and he would likely be unable to find a grip.

The three, now two, ships gaze on in horror as the projectile does nothing. In desperation, they fire a full volley, a total of about 70 sharpened steel rods are loaded and fired from both of the two ships. They begin repositioning, trying desperately to find a way to get some distance.

The Oberon are not known for their extra-planetary warfare.

In fact, they are rather unskilled at space combat.

This will likely be their downfall.

Once more the volley of rounds strikes the Aschen warship true, and it was still evident this one massive carrier was the only one engaging the Oberon ships.

With one simultaneous volley, the shields protested violently by flaring up in a brilliant display of white, like a blinding curtain of light, explosions rippled across the forcefield, and caused the energy to ripple across the breadth of the ship in one violent series of shockwaves.

This was evident by a jolt, and a full rumble aboard the CIC of the Aschen warship. Quickly, EVE chimed to life.

"Admiral, shields are down to ninety percent, and holding."

The Admiral frowned, and then shook her head. The technological disparities were stark, and she decided to tap the communications icon within her interface.

"Unidentified vessels, you are outmatched. Surrender now and I will spare your lives."

The voice was stern, albeit stricken with a brief hint of pleading.

The ships do not respond for some time.

"We surrender. That is all."

The crew of the two remaining ships stay at their posts, still in shock that their attacks had done nothing.
They were shaken, for sure, because this technology was on a whole different level. It was hard to understand, but they knew they were almost definitely going to lose.

"UCFS Thunderstorm" engages its warp drive, vanishing before your eyes.
