Path to Wing City Lake

Emily tilted her head to the side and combed through her thick blue hair, "I know how to handle my own."
she let out a quiet sigh, her tail flicked in her lap. she laid out on the ground and stretched out resting her head against the outside of Vercerigo's leg. she closed her eyes and smiled as the sunlight hit her face "i really don't talk to many people. in fact you're the first person to actually take notice of me in a positive way. being here with you.... this is my social life..." she opened her eyes and looked up at him with a slight smile that was just an upturned crescent on her face. her ears twitched as his shirt brushed against the tips. she was, for once in her life, happy. "like i said before. im up for anything."

Vercerigo sighed. "What's not to like about you?" He began stroking her ears as he continued, "Anybody who doesn't see you in a positive way very clearly has a sight deficiency. To be honest, the moment I walked in to Gambit's, I wanted to get to know you, because you seemed lonely, and I know too well how loneliness feels."
He looked down at her, gave a small half smile and said teasingly, "If I'm really the only company you have, then you have a very boring life, Em." He chuckled. "I'm just a guy who happened to be there. I was going to help, but, like I said earlier, I didn't get to do anything." He gave a wry smile. "You beat me to it. I really haven't done anything to deserve your friendship."
He thought for a moment, looking up at the blue sky.
"But I am glad that I'm part of your social life. I don't have a lot of friends, you know, with me being new to this area and all. I have some other friends, but they're not here."He looked back down at her and smiled. "I'm glad I'm out here with you. This is great."

Emily sighed loudly as Vercerigo stroked her ears. "you think so?" she smiled back at him "well the good news is neither of us are lonely anymore." she looked up and watched the clouds roll by. "have you ever stopped and stared at the clouds? they seem so big even from down here but could you imagine being up there with them? they must be enormous. and honestly you've done enough just by talking to me. most people barely pass a glance at me. i spent most of my life i just wished someone would say hi..."

"That's kind of a sad life to lead." He mused. "If that's the case, then I'm glad you found me. As for the clouds, well..." He looked up at the sky, watching them slowly drift by. "I've always wondered what it be like to be inside one of them. It'd be all cold and misty, and you probably wouldn't be able to see more than two feet in front of you." He laughed. "I need to find a pegasus or something. Something else to write down in my crazy to-do list." He looked down at her. "If I do find one, I'll take you there with me, alright?'
He paused for a second. "And don't worry about people and acceptance anymore. I'll always be here, and I'm always ready to say 'hi'." He looked down at her with care evident in his grey eyes. "You don't need to worry anymore."'

She sat up and hugged him, "thank you" she snuggled up to him as the day turned to dusk. "have we really been here all day?" she whispered with a smile. she then lightly kissed him on the cheek for a long lingering second then rested her head on his shoulder. "I truly don't know how to thank you for today. it was probably the best i had in a long while" she let out a sigh and closed her eyes resting her head on Verc's shoulder just taking in the moment.

Vercerigo opened and closed his mouth, and found himself unable to speak. He could feel his cheeks burning. As Emily rested her head on his shoulder, he inwardly laughed at himself and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, resting his head against hers. "You don't need to thank me." He whispered softly, watching her tail curl around her legs. It was cooler out now, and he was thankful for that. He felt more alive at night. He closed his eyes, and murmured, "I'm glad you're having a good time, Em, and I'm glad that I could help with that." He sighed, rubbing her shoulder with his thumb, as his eyes opened and flicked up to the sky. He smiled when he saw the spreading darkness, and pulled her closer to him. He was so glad he had met her, and he didn't want to leave.

Emily shivered slightly as the cold air pricked her uncovered skin she curled up her legs snuggling up tighter to Vercerigo. she looked up at the stars, her eyes glowed in in the moon's light. she wondered what would happened if they just sat there together through the night. she shivered again as a slight breeze blew by. (just to change scenes so this doesn't get boring.) "do you think we should go somewhere warmer?" she asked quietly, then put in, "maybe a little more private?"
