Setting

It was by accident that we discovered this place... A plane between planes. I could not fathom what the captain meant by that. We heard rumors of its existence. I thought them the fairy tales of greedy treasure hunters and mages whose thirst for knowledge knew no bounds.
We just weathered a hurricane. The airship hung to the night sky. Our guardian silver drakes helped us through an onslaught of storm drakes. Though, it seemed the storm drakes were merely curious of our vessel. I’ve seen them rip right through a ship just to get a taste of what is inside...
We emerged through the clouds, and the last of the storm drakes flew on with the storm. They made light of the gale force winds. It seemed we had simply been set adrift into the skies above. The stars that were once so far away seemed to float right by us. The deck filled with the buzz of crewmen who thought they had died and had passed on. Yet, in the distance we could see other ships, and things I could only assume were ships.
The ships seemed to set port at some sort of harbor. It was only a matter of time before we approached the same docks, docks made of winding stone that was attached to more floating stone. The dock floated there, not above water, not in water, but in the air. No man was brave enough to take a leap off the cobblestone and see what would happen. Though, at other docks, we could see creatures and people. They walked underneath of the dock as if it were right-side-up. I could not make sense of this place, nor would I give an attempt to.

You may be asking yourself how your character got here. Was it by airship, boat, space ship, teleportation gone awry, a portal? No matter the means, they are here. Proxi is a plane that connects to all places within the multiverse. A common ground between all things. It seems to expand endlessly. At the port, a large gate that marks the entrance to the city of Proxi. Some say that there is no end because the plane eventually loops in on itself. That is a subject for scholars to debate. Proxi is the multiversal neutral zone and trade hub. For further questions, please see The Port as it is generally where new people get their questions answered in Proxi.

Talren decided that waiting for then would probably be unhealthy. Grabbing Jon's arm, he pulled the sickly satyr away and down the street. There was a gate in the distance ahead, shimmering in fashion similar to many of the exits of Proxi into one of the other realms. "Hope you don't mind some sightseeing," the elf yelled to Jon, "I don't think we have time to be picky about where this takes us!"
"We're not goin- That's not my home portal." The satyr wondered if it was safe to go back and run to his own portal and decided he liked where his horns were and being alive. "Okay!" Jon threw himself head first though the portal, falling though into nothingness and felt like he was going to hurl, which he probably was when he came out though the other side.
"Well that, could have certainly done with more strange spinning, colours and more pain, yes alot more" he said sarcastically as his body arched from the floor.
"Ow!" he winced as his hand shot to his ribs. "Well at least if this place is hostile, i wont feel them beat me to a bloody pulp."
Tentatively, he raised himself to his feet, checked the scroll in his hand and began to aclimatize to his surroundings.
