Aaron strode confidently into the meeting room, his blue Captain's uniform buttoned and pomped. He extended his hand to Granheim as he neared him.

"I greet you. As does all of Terra," Vrail nodded, "I am glad to formally acknowledge the United Planets. I can assure you the TNG plaid no part in whatever happened to Oslo." He nodded towards the table. "Shall we sit down? We have much to discuss."

"Indeed." Granheim responded, turning to face him, reflective helmet showing what was outside was he moved to sit down. "My crew is transferring identification data on the Oslo to your ship as we speak." he began, looking over the man before him. "So you detected a major energy spike within this area of space, yet you do not know of any ships that were in this area nor have collected any debris or lifeboats?"

"We don't keep close tabs on this area," Vrail admitted, "it's far enough from our planet to where a small routine scouter scan will suffice. The energy signature we recieved on that particular day, however, was extremely large. So large that it would have been impossible not to miss it." Aaron reached into his pockets, retrieving a small holopad. He flicked the device into life, showing Granheim a large, spiking plot diagram.

"Here's what we picked up." He pointed at the graph. "One, massive centralized spike. Likely the main energy attack. After this, there were several smaller 'aftershocks'. Finishing off the ship, no doubt. Our scouters in this area weren't strong enough to pick up anything else. If there were escape pods, we didn't have the tech trained to notice them, yet." Aaron reclined. "There's the facts. Your ship is missing. We have evidence of an attack." He smirked. "THAT or there was a supernova nearby. But seeing as how we're not engulfed in a black hole right now, I'd say it's the former. The question is, who would have done this to the Oslo?"

"That we do not know, the Oslo does not have the weaponry to output this much power, even if it were to fire off all of its weaponry at once." he said, examining the diagram, the central computer feed in his helmet analyzing it all. "This system wasn't even on the Oslo's set course. It was to pass two systems galactic north of here." he said, pointing out on star map that projected from the table. "If the debris field of the ship is located I wish that you inform us immediately, the ship's data recorder is of utmost importance, it may very well hold the answer to the ship's destruction and whatever fate befell it."

"Understood," Aaron nodded, "perhaps the answer is already cleared up? Does your nation have any enemies? A foe that frequently lashes out against you? Or perhaps this is something less sinister? We've heard rumors of pirates roaming about this part of the galaxy. A Red Halo fleet was spotted just a lightyears off from this location."

"I do not believe mere pirates could destroy this vessel captain, not that I question the power of local weapon systems." he began. "I do believe that this is a new force that the United Planets has not yet encountered, and perhaps yet unencountered by your TNG. In any case, if these pirates are responsible I would like information upon them as I do not believe your government will take offense to they being removed and tried for an act of war against a sovereign nation."

"Of course," Aaron nodded, "and once we've figured all this out, I look forward to continued diplomacy with your nation." The captain rose. "Let this pursuit be the beginning of a fruitful alliance between our two cultures." He extended his hand to the man.

"If we discover anything, you'll be the first know. Rest assured, we want threats out of the galaxy just as much as you do."

The Legate nodded, standing to his feet. "If you will permit our own sweeper ships to search the area where the energy spike occurred, we would like to gather an examine any wreckage found, if there are survivors they may have found your way to your planets." he said, taking Aaron's hand in a firm grip and giving it a single shake.

War and her frigates floated through space. Captain Juk'Teh Lore sat on his bridge and watched the reports roll across his screen. War had not seen much action since being sent to Sol. War was really only there in case Pestilence, orbiting Terra, got in trouble. A few Derith fighters flew between ships to pass time and preform flight drills. Yep. Just another day for War.

"Sweeper five reporting, unidentified fleet encountered." "All ships, prepare for dimensional cascade, helmsman, brings us into suitable distance for a tip of the hat." the Legate ordered.

There was a moment of stillness before lightning like arcs of energy flashed across the black and sand blue hulls of the ships before they flashed forward, reappearing at what was the UP

An alarm went off in the bridge of War. She was being hailed. Captain Juk'Teh Lore quickly looked around. All of War's guns were pointed at the enemy Dreadnought. Two formidable ships with all guns pointed at each other. What a glorious battle, to bad it would probably not occur.

Juk'Teh answered the call. "Hello Unidentified fleet," said the Captain, "My name is Juk'Teh Lore of Harb. Corp.'s Harbinger class Warship War. What are your intentions?" The other end was probably surprised to see a shark speaking to them.

Captain Lore would find himself speaking to his own reflection on the mirror like front of the Legate's mask. "This is Legate 4th Order Granheim of the United Planets. We are seeking information regarding the U.P.S. Oslo any information on its whereabouts would be appreciated captain." he said, standing stock still with his hands behind his back as he was prone to do.

"Well," said Captain Lore, "We received a distress beacon earlier, but did not move on it. It was not my choice, Harb. Corp. forbids us from moving on unknown distress signals. We recovered a brief sound byte from the signal. We could provide this to you if you wish. All we could identify was that it was a human ship..."

"That would be appreciated." Granheim said, turning to an aide for a moment. "Forgive the bio scans but you are a race we have not encountered before and we soldiers must appease the labs back home, I'm sure you know how that is." he said, allowing himself a hollow chuckle. What was in his hand was actually a tactical readout on the ships before them. Most impressive ships, that dreadnought was certainly a sight.

"I'll have my comm center send you the file," said Captain Lore. After pressing a few buttons. "The file has been transferred." The captain chuckled, "The Lab boys are always pestering us." The captain looked to his left as he received a report on the enemy ships. Impressive. Juk'Teh would still take War over the human ship, but still impressive.

"Thank you Captain, perhaps one day we shall meet in less of a stand off." he said, having the sound byte piped into his helmet. The sounds were chilling, the announce of an unidentified fleet, standard greeting sent, shields taken down in seconds, hull ruptured on the next volley, the massive carrier, larger than Granheim's own Dreadnought was taken down in less than five minutes but unknown attackers. "This is disconcerting." he murmured.

"You are welcome," the captain said, "Harb. Corp. wants us to offer War and her accompanying ships to your cause in interest of an alliance. If you need us, we will accompany you, if not we will remain here." The captain tapped the desk in front of him. He was actually interested in accompanying these people, it seemed like a good fun, better than sitting here and waiting for a call from Captain Sk'Teth Ofarjin on Terra.

"We shall take you up on that offer I am sure, my force is formidable but we are far from reinforcements. I would be a fool to believe you had not listened to this recording yourself, some other power is at work here and I intend to find out what." stated the Legate, his usual smooth voice sounding a bit harder by the end of his short speech.

"Alright then," the Captain said, "I await our first direction. War's guns and her ships are ready whenever you are." The Derith cracked his knuckles. These guys sounded bad, but a blast from War's main guns could tear through the thickest of armors. So Juk'Teh was prepared. Harb. Corp.'s finest were on the job.

"Troopship Navajo reporting, we have reached the coordinates supplied by out sharptoothed friends." "Good, deploy in Zero-G Frames, Not risking a troop ship to check out some debris." "Aye sir." "Alright Apes, Z-G Frames, suit up and move out." "Sir!"

Soon two by two the marines drifted out of their troop ship towards the wreckage. "Simmons, can you tell if it's what we are looking for?" "Not from here sir, the outer edges are too scoured and corroded, we will have to get inside." "Sato, locate us an entrance."

Soon a Derith Juggernaut Troop carrier dropped out of hyperspace. The back Airlock opened and a Derith Mech suit ejected. The suit made the already imposing frame of the Derith two hundred pounds heavier and a foot and a half taller. Equipped with enough firepower to take out a small troopship, the Mech flew towards the piece of wreckage.

"Troopship Navajo, this is Sharktooth, we are here to join the party," said Frenith Sk'Lif, the pilot of the Derith Mech. The mech propelled itself toward the two UP Marines. "Boys," said Frenith, "What are we looking at?"

"Piece of debris origin unknown, Sato was about to make us an entrance." announced the Sergeant in charge of the small group. "Better enlarge that door private." "Yes sir." It didn't take Sato long to get an entrance cut into the hull section. "Alright you apes, everyone inside, Sato you got rear." "Sir."

Inside they had a large hallway before them, grey bulkheads charged by energy blasts and fire. One of the marines let out a low whistle as he looked around, lights sweeping the walls.

The Mech suit climbed into the hole in the hull of the ship, "Juggernaut, coast is clear, send in the squad." Soon afterwards a four Derith soldiers found there way into the hull. Each of them sweeping the inside of the ship with head mounted flashlights.

The Mech suit had two floodlights, one on each shoulder. "Something big happened here," One of the soldiers spouted. "Yeah," replied Fernith, "Nothing like I've ever seen. What about you guys?" The question was directed at the UP Marines.

"Never seen anything like this before, not the same energy damage as the Scagaran Cultists, it's something else." said Simmons, the tech on the squad as they swept the ship fragment. "Here sir, it is a piece of the Oslo, crew quarters I think." "Good work Sato, relay everything to the Navajo and back to the fleet." "Sir."

"We aren't done yet Marines, let's see if we can't find some info on this."
