The elven Rider caught her breath once again as they took off into the skies. Her knees quivered for the slightest moment and Nao had to once again open eyes that she did not realized had closed. It almost seemed that she would never get used to the sensations of riding with Karo. Through sheer skill alone, she stayed mounted on him without even a single slip. This ride would be far more easy than their first due to their bond.

For a moment her eyes passed over the deep water beneath and fear crept into the corners of her mind. But, Nao turned her thoughts away from plunging into the unknown, dark, and wet world to the sky before her. The horizon was breathtaking as it always had been for the Rider. Her blood quickened though this time it was not from her mate but from the sheer pleasure of taking the skies once again.

“There is nothing better than flying with you, Karo.”

The truth of his gratitude rolled to her through their bond as he caught an updraft and rose higher into the sky, his wings stilled. As he reached higher up, a tailwind lifted the backs of his wings, pushing them forward far faster than he'd meant to.

In a fraction of a second, a crystalline harness was around Nao's thighs to make sure the sudden jolt didn't dislodge her. The moment passed, however, as Karo adapted to the speed and shifted his wings accordingly. As he remembered her fear of water, he looked back at her.

“There is a difference between tolerating something you do not like and expressing fear of it. I can do both, Karo,” Nao said before addressing another topic. “And you do not have to ensure that I stay seated on your back. You doubt my skill in Riding, Beloved?” The elf frowned slightly and released a sigh into the wind. There was no need for the harness even if the slight pang of soreness still tainted her larger thigh muscles.

“I have never fallen from a dragon and I do not plan for you to the be first. I am confident in my skill as should you be too,” Nao said to reinforce herself. A Rider always knew their limits and boundaries and the elf was no exception.

Nao turned her eyes back to the horizon, holding back the hair whipping around her cheeks.

A great cacophonous sound cracked through the air, announcing the arrival of a long missing resident to Wing City. Tabitha had been gone for what had seemed like eternity, she was eager to catch up with her friends and loved one. She had only arrived minutes ago, having missed her first true friend so much she skipped rest and immediately sought him out. However, Tabitha already felt she'd have no choice but to wait when she didn't sense the great sea dragon anywhere near their most visited spot.
The werepyre landed on the beach and took a step into the water. She'd then cup her hands over her mouth and proceed to call out for her close friend.
"Tikaaaaroooooo!"

The sand shifted behind where Tabitha had landed, the grains rising then falling aside as a great brown mass surged up out of the earth. First came the head, then the body, scaled and armored like a tank, and finally a tail to match the beast itself. With a grunt and some final shakes, the last bits of sand fell away from the beast's hide, giving it an unhindered view of the werepyre before him.

he asked, his deep, resonant voice echoing across the air by the strength of his mind alone.

Tabitha S 's expression changed from disappointment to joy as she heard a voice within her mind. She spun quickly, expecting to catch the sight of brilliant blue scales. Instead, she was yet again disappointed upon seeing the dull brown of a new dragon before her. Tabitha had to blink at the dragon a couple times as she had only seen very few of the creatures.
"I'm not a human." She retorted with a hint of annoyance in her words.
"And I'm looking for someone."

He snorted, a plume of dark smoke rising into the air. He stepped forward, his paws leaving deep imprints int he sandy shoreline.

He was larger than the one she searched for, by almost ten feet in length and wingspan, and his bulk was easily twice that of the Ocean Dragon's, yet he didn't seem to be hindered by it at all. In fact, as he paced a great circle around her, he seemed perfectly able to move his body fluidly and easily, each part of him keeping him on balance and ready to react.

he asked, his deep voice gruff and more mature sounding than nay words that Tikaro had ever spoken.

Tabitha S fluttered the velvety wings that had been so ever visible during their talk thus far. She was beginning to get rather angry with this new dragon, but she still respected him. If Wing City taught her anything, it was that messing with things that felt more powerful usually were tenfold of the sense.
"I'm a werepyre. Vampire, werewolf hybrid."
Tabitha kept an eye on the dragon at all times. The threat of being eaten by the massive creature certainly making her nervous.
"I'm...looking for Tikaro, a sea dragon that is usually seen around these waters."

Faran'nok blinked, then snorted out another puff of smoke, this one black as night. The idea that a vampire and a werewolf could even create such a creature disturbed him greatly, as each alone was an abomination in their own right. He kept his thoughts to himself, however, making note that she might be a formidable foe should she be pushed too far.

He shuffled his massive wings a bit, the leathery skin sounding like old paper. He looked up at the sky, then back at her.

Tabitha S frowned slightly, she was getting a vibe that this dragon was not too fond of her, aside from the threat of eating her. She'd cross her arms over her chest and almost glare at the dragon. However, upon his mentioning of Ocrean's breath she immediately seemed to light up.
"Yes, I am. You know where he is? Is he ok? Why did he leave, and when? Do you know when he'll be back?" Tabitha inquired in a barrage of questions, all the while stepping near the massive dragon with a look of anticipation.

As she stepped forward, he bared his fangs and growled a bit, the deep rumbling almost inaudible.

He huffed again and began to pace her once more. He flared his wings a few times, flapping them slowly, before tucking them back to his sides.

Tabitha S paused in her advance towards the dragon, eyes wide as she caught sight of the formidable fangs. Indeed she had been rather foolish in rushing at the dragon, but her intent wan't aggressive, she was simply curious as to her friend.
"S-sorry... Its just... I haven't seen him in so long. I really miss him." Tabitha confessed as she took a step back. Her hands now fondled with one another as she again tracked the dragon's movements around her.
"Do you know when he'll be back?"

He shook his massive head, flicking the tip of his tail in minor annoyance.

The seemed to entertain Faran'nok somewhat, for he chuckled in his throat before laying himself down and letting his eyes look over the girl.

Tabitha S 's expression worsened from disappointment to absolute longing. She'd release a long, quivering sigh as she set herself to sit upon the sand.
"A century..."
Tabitha looked back to the brown dragon as he inquired her name. Again she sighed before answering, and brought her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around them.
"My name is Tabitha."

He looked her over, noting her depressed look.

He looked away, out over the crests of the waves, and then turned the sand to glass before his head by breathing out a blast of bright emerald flames.

found herself to be blinking once again at the dragon. Confused with the new name.
"I guess not." She replied, though she'd have to remember to ask him what it meant.
"No, humans don't live for centuries. ou-...their lives are short. Being what I am, I can live far longer. But its not my life span I'm worried about." She side yet again. "I just...I really miss Tikaro... more than I've missed anyone ever."

He rolled onto his side, letting part of his wing lay against the warm glass. It was far more pleasant than he'd though it might be, though he'd done it before. Still, the feeling never seemed to grow old to him.

"Fall in..." Now Tabitha was really worried. Was it so that the dragons fought each other on this island? She shook her head, hoping that Tikaro was smarter and stronger than to let another dragon best him.

Tabitha S She angled to peer straight into the eyes of the large brown dragon. "I care for his well being more than my own... Please, I just want to see him again." Her words became more and more strained, she truly was an emotional wreck, even back to her arrival in Wing City.
