Following the woman’s gaze towards the two that seemed like a dysfunctional couple, Isis shook her head a little. The two were obviously meant for each other, but neither appeared to know how to be part of a relationship. The girl with the owl was hiding something and part of Isis wanted to know what, but the other half knew it wasn’t any of her business. Returning her attention back towards Ms. Annoying, the assassin narrowed her eyes as she felt her mind being messed with. The siren was generally the one that jacked with individuals minds, and she did not appreciate being screwed with and made that well known when she shoved the woman out of her mind rather harshly. The waitress picked that moment to return with her new pitcher of her booze and she resumed drinking it while patiently listening to what the other woman had to say. Perhaps the peacefulness that had been thrusted upon her worked just a smidge. Perhaps.
“Do me a favor and stop attempting to penetrate my mind. I’m behaving quite well right now; but if you try again, I’ll be less polite. That being said, I’m interested, but this area isn’t the best place to speak about our specializations. Shall we head to somewhere more private? I’m expecting someone, but they’re late and the kid can just send him to the room we end up occupying. Game?”
Xas canceled the order of food, instead trying to find out if he could order eggnog. Most places didn't have it out of season, except for places that were friendly toward a certain god of fire. Without any other distractions, he finally noticed Isis and Felicity, however, and decided to have a couple drinks sent their way. As far as anyone would be able to tell, he was simply flirting with the girls, and even leaned back to smile and wink at the pair when the waiter informed them that their drinks had been paid for.
Felicity only smiled deeper as the siren shoved away the invasion of her mind, though Isis would still feel that perhaps the other woman had given up quite easily. She didn't bother to make any quips about how easy it was to upset Isis, or even the fact that such a large flaw could be exploited, instead keeping her tone at an even level without any of the laughter that the sylph held back,"No, I'll just leave my card with you for later. You can contact us when you're ready to talk. After all, I wouldn't want to interrupt an important meeting. After all, I still have other matters to attend to."
She looked up when the waiter informed them that their drinks had been paid for by the man at the bar, meeting eyes with Xas as he winked at the pair of assassins. In return she smiled flirtatiously, and looked back toward Isis,"As you can see, I don't want too much attention. Its bad for business." With that she set a plain white business card on the tabletop and stood. With a small nod to Isis, and a nod toward Jeremy, she headed toward the entrance of the casino, with the intent to leave.
“Right, duly understood and noted. I’ll be in touch with you then.”
Stretching a little just as a waitress appeared at the table with drinks that neither of them ordered, Isis arched her brow. She was always skeptic and cautious of anything that was bought for her without her consent and she couldn’t help but wonder just what Xas was getting at since he was the one that bought the drinks for them. Narrowing her emerald eyes, Isis didn’t return the wink and instead turned her attention back towards Felicity who was at that moment standing up. Sliding her fingers around the white business card, she pocketed it before watching the woman walk towards the entrance of the casino. Returning her attention towards Xas, she began to wonder if he was the target she was waiting for. Sliding to her feet before grasping the drink, she walked over to him and smiled seductively. She wouldn’t use her Siren abilities quite yet, but perhaps before the night was over, he would know her true power.
“So, do you normally buy women you don’t know drinks?”
He offered his hand, and made sure that there was plenty of room for Isis to take a seat if she so chose to,"Name's Raeys, Xas Raeys. Its a pleasure to meet you, miss..." he left an opening for her to supply her name, while he gave her a quick look-over. Most would assume he was just checking out her body, and to be honest, he was, but he also noted anywhere and everywhere that she possibly had a concealed weapon. Of course she could be unarmed, but it didn't hurt to be prepared.
"Sup," he she said with a slight nod of her head, as if trying to bait out the human instinct to respond as a distraction before she sprung into action. One fist launched immediately upwards, knuckles curled inwards for the jaw of Tawny while the other jammed backwards for the emergency stop. Of course, anyone who knew the true nature of Bo knew her knuckles weren't her knuckles. They were robotic gloves shaped like human hands which meant they were solid metal. Even with the slim fabric covering them, it would hurt to be struck.
“That wasn’t a friend of mine, I just met her tonight, Xas. I guess that’s what you do in establishments such as this… meet new people. The name is Isis Reign, by the way. What do you expect to get out of me since you bought me a drink? Sorry to be so blunt, but most men are pigs. Not only that, I saw you earlier with that owl girl, and well, I’m a bit suspicious of you both.” She was definitely not having a good evening and took note of his roving gaze, shifting in order to show off the hilt of her Scimitar Sword.
“Yes, I am armed and quite able to take care of myself. So, keep that in mind before you continue.”
He had shifted slightly as well, so to make his pouches easier to reach, though the movement was subtle, a trained eye wouldn't miss it. Now that Xas had dropped all acts, he seemed colder somehow, militaristic and almost as likely to fight as talk.
"Speaking of which, who was she, the blonde? I saw that she passed you something, but I'm sure you're aware I can't search you without a warrant."
Alright, salvage this before he stabs you in the face or something.
As he began talking, she noticed his stoic attitude and mentally noted that he was definitely in cop mode. He also wasn’t frightened of her, which actually intrigued her immensely. It had gotten tiresome having everyone frightened of her, and the fact that someone wasn’t, was like a breath of fresh air. Tilting her head as he questioned her, she noticed the pouches and couldn’t help but wonder what was in them. Oh, yes, sometimes being curious was an annoyance. He asked again about Felicity and she wondered why he kept bringing her up.
“Look, I’m sorry for being so standoffish. These type of events really aren’t my cup of tea. I’m just extremely stressed out and my person I’m waiting on never showed and that’s frustrating me as well. I’m suspicious of everyone, no offense intended. Plus, you’re a cop and I’m always uncomfortable around them. Again, she isn’t my acquaintance. I just met the woman today and I’m sure she wants to induct me in some hooker position or something. It’s nothing to worry about, Xas.”
Char plopped himself down by the bar, leaning his elbows on it and glanced over at the bartender, but said nothing as of yet.
((Note: The other Char is apparently untaggable.))
Xas only glanced away from Isis to note the large red figure that plopped down at the bar, then again, how could anyone miss him? Seriously, who wears something that gaudy? And with a horn on the helm no less. Poor fashion sense aside, Xas noted how armed this guy was too, wondering if this planet was dangerous or something. His attention was quickly back to the siren, however, though his tone may have softened ever so slightly. He wasn't surprised that she knew he was a cop, since he did kind of announce it to the world in hopes of flushing out the more nervous villains.
"I suppose first off, I'd like to see the card that woman gave you. Please no sudden movements or tricks, people who are uneasy around cops make me a little uneasy. I'm sure you can relate."
While he noted the sudden elf, this too was met with externally passing interest, as he was more concerned with the woman in front of him stabbing him in the face, or something annoying like that.
He was still energized from that sugary concoction Maarat gave him, and was intent on doing a lot. That being said, there were plenty of other attendants, waitresses, and bar tenders he really didn't need to do anything.
However, he soon received word about the alarm in the elevator. "Everyone relax. Someone probably just decided to pull the alarm. We have more then enough countermeasures to deal with any crisis!"
The alarm was shut off, and Jeremy had four security guards come with him to "neutralize" the situation. He found the elevator that tripped the alarm. He was not just going to let someone disrupt his father's work. He tapped into his Telekinesis, and pulled the elevator doors open and the elevator itself down to his floor as the 4 security guards aimed weapons. As soon as he got the elevator fully down, he would force open the elevator doors.
Failing that well...
She would go low, knowing security tended to aim high or middle, and as the doors opened she would swing her hand to unleash a powerful gust of wind, more than enough to shunt a car along the ground. Normal sized beings on the other hand? They tended to get flung about from this much of a blast, especially if they were in a tight corridor where the only places to go were to the sides..
The security were using powerful Pulse weaponry. Since it was the Grand Opening, they were at setting 3. Pulse weaponry either had a really focused damaging blast, one that could move a car a few feet, or a wide nonpowerful blast. The more focused it was, the less width it had, but the more range and the more damage. Currently, they were set to focus setting 3 out of 7, so it would knock a person down at close range, and since they were aiming it at the elevator at close range, they would be fine.
As soon as the doors opened, they fired into the elevator, and Jeremy attempted to trap whoever was in the elevator psionically. However, they were blasted back by a gust of wind, though the force was weakened by the Pulse Pistols. The security quickly recovered and began firing again, while Jeremy attempted to telekineticly trap the attacker.
He then thought of something he could try, he could attempt to intercept all signals currently being put out, he would have to filter out signals he didn't want to look at, until he found the red suited man's signal for his eye.
Char then proceeded to open up a metaphorical net to start catching signals, slowing weeding out trying to get the red man's signal.
When Xas asked for the card, Isis shook her head, leaning back as far as possible in her seat while casually drinking her liquor. There was no way she was going to give it up and wondered why it even mattered to him. Releasing a sigh, she leaned forward towards him, flipping some of her hair behind her shoulders. It wasn’t meant as a seductive move and she hoped he didn’t take it as one. Her red hair was just obnoxious and in her way. Still unsure what to tell him about the card without revealing what she did as a profession, Reign chewed on her bottom lip briefly.
“I already told you what I know. She approached me and slid the card to me before leaving. We barely even exchanged ten words between us. I politely told her to piss off and she replied by attempting to jack around in my mind. There’s nothing else to tell. As for the card, it doesn’t matter what’s on it.” If he kept it up, she was going to utilize her siren abilities and make him forget about the whole ordeal.
"What ex-"
He was cut off by a sudden fire alarm throughout the building, and the nervous chatter of everyone around him. Was this a trick to distract him? The alarm was quickly shut off again, while Jeremy assured everyone that there was nothing to worry about. It didn't seem that his 'companion' tried to do anything, so his attention turned toward the young greeter and his team of armed guards. It wasn't until they managed to open the elevator and were knocked over by an unseen force, that the cop sprung to his feet.
"Nice talk, drink's on me."
Xas pulled what looked to be two marbles filled with some sort of liquid, one glowing a bright gold, the other seemingly filled with mud. He dashed off, not waiting for any comment from Isis, holding each sphere between a different pair of fingers. He didn't go for his gun yet, which was concealed in a shoulder holster under his jacket.
The kid left to deal with it, so he shrugged and glanced over at the newcomer, who seemed to have popped out of thin air or something. Spacetime shenanigans most likely. He judged the man to be a Sephi, which he'd had limited dealings with, but other than that nothing stuck out as particularly notable about him. He raised a hand in greeting, remembering this time to speak in Galactic Basic, or whatever it was they were calling the common tongue here. "Howdy."
As to attempts to gather signals being transmitted by his armor, the only signal transmitted was that unencrypted plain text female voice on the frequency 86.364mhz, which at current time reached it's two-hour mark and chimed once before reciting a ten digit number in the common tongue. The transmission was put out at considerable wattage, so as to reach as far as possible with minimal disruption, and could be picked up on any radio receiver tuned to the proper frequency, to include standard vehicle radios used for music or news transmissions.
Why target the child?
Who the hell sent a child with four security guards unless they were the lynch pin? Besides, the goons with guns would be pretty much useless once she was on top of them and going all psycho kittay.
Then the alarm went off, Char was confused by it at first but soon was settled after the child said it was no big worry. He then continued to sit at the bar and stare at the red man, attempting to find out how he could hide the signal, or was it a hardwired connection?
"Good day to you as well sir." Cochise said bowing his head slightly his right arm raised in the air and his right leg behind his left.
Though the tendrils began to rapidly shoot back towards the elf as they felt the resonance of a conflict though it was not for him to deal with. Though the elf still seemed to size up the man with a somewhat curious eye as he waited to see if the battle would erupt his way.
