Sheila Nagala laughed. "Depends on the planet. Some are completely alien from the world you originate from." She said, before she led them through the Hangar bay, which had a gaping door in the side opened up to a purple colored light, which was shining through, and once they stepped out of the smaller ship, they would emerge in the hangar bay of the much larger Reverence II. The lighting and the metal on the walls was a uniform iridescent purple.

The floor was also a violet-colored rubbery compound, which offered exceptional grip. Suspended from massive booms above them were Mercury Class Battlestars Lined up along the length of this massive hangar bay were these ships, side-by-side and suspended, with catwalks and booms going into them along docking clamps.

Below them was a wedge-shaped ship, with a massive cannon stretching it's spinal structure, the ship below them was easily 11 miles in length, and lined with large 3 mile long bulbous ships which resembled the sleek black ship. In front of them was a long formation of sleek black ships, docked in a docking boom next to the ship they arrived on. There was literally an entire starfleet crammed into the massive hangar bay of some kind of mothership.

Nagala silently turned to Elizabeth.

"Welcome aboard the Reverence II
A Psalm Every Day
." She said, nodding.

"Below us is the CNV Atrition, and above us are Battlestars, and keep in mind this is only a small segment of the ship." She said, before a hovering golf cart looking vehicle pulled up on the Catwalk, and of course, below them, appeared to be quite a long fall.

There wasn't much more for the girl to do other than admire the surroundings, and sit quietly by. When the hovercart appeared, she was hesitant at first to climb in, since she'd never been the biggest fan of heights.

But she did, taking a slow, deep breath through her nose and getting into the cart with Sheila. None of anything she said made much sense to her. She had never been around space ships or anything militaristic. She assumed half of the things Sheila said pertained to the names of these particular structures, much in the same way a person named a boat or a car.

Needless to say, her head was spinning.

"I'm taking it in stride." Liz said with a slight nod. She had to, otherwise her head would fall clean off her shoulders.

Sheila Nagala looked up and around the ships for a moment, then she set forward towards the Hovercraft, once buckled in, the Soldier adjusted the throttle, and when Elizabeth was buckled in, they would begin to set fourth through the interior of the Hangar bay and through a causeway, which weaved and moved through the length of the ship, and After at least a thirty minute ride in the hovercraft, they reached 'Living Section A', which was situated at the front of the ship.

"Here we are." She said, gesturing to a flickering holographic sign that read 'LDA Outpost' And with the gesture, came the comment. "They will be dealing with your initial evaluation." She explained, passing through the door with a Crystalline chime, inside the room was a table, with a single man in a suit and tie, going over a set of forms.

"Elizabeth Fern." The Man said, before he silently slid the file over to the other end of the table, then he placed a pen on top of the papers.

"I'm Agent Duram, Langaran Defense Agency, Overt Intelligence Agency." He said, motioning to the papers.

"Fill out the paperwork, with truthful information, which will be verified by a Zatarc machine."

Nice to meet you, she wanted to say. But it wasn't really that nice at all. Everything that was said to her sounded like a command.

She stepped up to the table, looking at the papers, and reached to pick up the pen. More lingo she didn't understand. The Zatarc must have been some kind of database of sorts. She looked back to Sheila, her brow furrowed slightly, before taking a seat and beginning the long process of filling out her information.

Whisper caught sight of Arrow once more as she slipped through the cargo hold. As in times past, she averted her eyes away as he caught sight of her, ducking out into one of the passageways as she left the jostling of bodies to mar her from his sight as she moved on deeper into the ship. She had been avoiding him since she had discovered he was on the vessel, seemingly failing to notice the times he had shouted her name out through the conglomeration of bodies.

Part of her was curious to know what he was doing here, but part of her was loathe to speak with the man after their last encounter on Terra, and so she avoided him. With the state of the ship, and the number of people currently aboard it, she had been largely successful in her efforts.

It hadn't taken long for Arrow to start getting the impression that Whisper was avoiding him. There had been times he had been certain that she had seen him, certain she had reacted to him calling out to her, and yet she had slipped away as though totally unaware of his presence. The conversation they had had within the altar room was likely the motivation. She had asked to be alone then - whether his words had had any impact or not unclear.

"Whisper-" he began to call to her, but once again, she disappeared off into a corridor. Arrow stepped forwards to move after her, turning the same corner. "Whisper, please, I need to speak with you." he called after her retreating form.

Whisper cast Arrow a side-long glance as he caught up with her in the corridor.

"I have things I need to get done," she told him simply.

She didn't move on though, giving him perhaps a moment to speak his mind. She still donned the grey Aschen uniform of the Special Projects Division.

"There will be time for them later, I am sure." Arrow's tone was solemn, and his heart heavy. The words of the policewoman he had spoken to ran through his mind. He found it hard to imagine Whisper committing the atrocities she had apparently committed, even though he had experienced first hand how lethal she could be.

He could not find it in himself to be angry with her, not entirely. Marlene had mentioned some form of leverage involving her homeland. Did that excuse what she had done? Perhaps not. "You asked me if I ever thought about returning home, to Orlesia," he said, "What of your home, Whisper? Do you think of it often?"

Perhaps an odd way to start the conversation, but it was an odd circumstance in and of itself.

The question caught Whisper off guard and her expression hardened.

"No," she said. "The Aschen Confederation is my home now."

There was a clarity to her words that contrasted the distress Arrow had found her in back on Terra. As she turned to face him, there was healthy color to her skin, and much of the gauntness had faded from her cheeks. Whatever change had overtaken the flighty woman seemed to be treating her well.

"By choice?" Arrow queried, noting with surprise the improvement to Whisper's condition. "I do not mean to presume, Whisper, but ..." he glanced around to check for onlookers before continuing. "I have come by information that something from your home is being used against you. I don't know why they chose to tell me, but I do know that they were speaking the truth."

The knight sighed, "I only want to help you, Whisper. I can't do that if you won't let me. I know that you would not do the things they have asked of you outside of dire circumstances. What is their hold on you?"

Whisper shook her head.

"I'm here because I choose to be here," she replied. "I'm here because..." A flicker of a frown touched her lips and she glanced away. "I'm here because wrongs were committed, wrongs that need righting."

"If I could tell you more I would," she told him. "But I can't. This is my home now, and maybe it's where I belong. You know as well as I the things I've done in the past. This place, the Aschen Special Projects Division. It's a new start, a place to put everything else behind me."

There was a touch of weariness to her eyes as she spoke, but it was difficult to say what the cause of it was.

"Is what you have done for them so far truly righting wrongs?" Arrow refused to explicitly make mention of the event he was referring to. He was far from aware of what other doings the Aschen had set Whisper to, but even if the assassinations had been the worst of it ...

"And are they the wrongs you ought to be righting? Putting everything behind you will not keep Sylvire's words at bay." The knight sighed, "I cannot fault you for trying to lose yourself in something new, Whisper. Light knows you have enough to haunt you. Do you not fear that list will only grow further as time goes by? What they might ask you to do?"

Arrow's words rang true. Distance could do little to dull the memories she sought to evade, but neither could she bring herself to return to Terra.

"The Aschen Confederation isn't the Empire," Whisper replied by way of justification. "What I do here now, what I'm doing here on this ship..." she shook her head. "It's in the pursuit of justice."

Justice or vengeance? Paragon's words rang through her head but she pushed them from her thoughts.

"I'm where I belong. There's nothing for me on Terra anymore."

Watchtower A-432
Aschen Border Space

"Sir, Incoming vessel, AHSC IFF Confirmed." A lieutenant reported to the Commander, as the DRADIS lit up the Aschen Stealth vessel.

"Transmit message." The Commander ordered.

"Attention Blackbird, this is the watchtower A-432, Transmit authentication codes immediately for passage."

Back in the CIC, Adams picked up the transmission from the watchtower.

"Watchtower A-432, this is Commander Adams. Transmitting authentication codes now. We have wounded aboard, requesting immediate passage."

Derek patiently awaited a response as the authentication codes were being transmitted and verified.

"Perhaps not," Arrow replied, a frown crossing his features. "What you have done on Terra can never be undone. But there are many better places for new beginnings than in the clutches of any government's special forces. Empire or not, I do not doubt there will be tasks you are given that are far from pure and just. Men and women in power are too often motivated by it."

He sighed. "If you truly seek a new beginning, there is a whole galaxy out there waiting full of places where nobody has ever heard your name. No doubt there is good you could do there, ways to give back to the universe some of what your crimes have taken. That would be more just than giving yourself to their service."

"Acknowledged. Proceeding to Langara via Tal'dor to the Themis Spaceport now," Adams replied.

She turned to leave.

An apparition resided there with Whisper. Though it could not be seen, heard, smelled, or felt through touch it was there, watching. The thing's consciousnesses the only reason that Whisper may be aware of it. How does one go about describing a consciousness? Courage and conflict, the ringing of swords as they clashed, and the call of men to come to arms echoed through the presence as if its emotions were composed of these sounds. A dragon's roar and a trumpet's call beckoned and tugged at the spirit. Chains rattled and coiled off a great wheel as doors slammed and locks were bolted. The sounds did not gather in the ear but in the mind as if they were emotions wrought by the thing into sounds that only a mind could hear.

Saffron and ozone, the smell sensed not by the nose but the head. The calling card of a gold dragon and a bolt of thunder. The sea after a storm and the crash of ocean waves against some rocks. The smell of the sea spray and the feel of it upon one's cheeks. Rough leather gloves, belts and buckles, and the feeling of a sword gripped in the right hand. The entity was not hiding its mental or spiritual presence. It was surely there and yet it was not. Within and upon the surface of this consciousness where the echoes of these senses but no true emotion could be found there.

The reason for Whisper's abrupt dismissal of her conversation with Arrow didn't become apparent until after she had turned the hall and was standing alone. She searched the area briefly with her eyes in a reflexive gesture, but it turned up little that her mind hadn't already informed her of. Someone, or something, was near at hand. She had felt its arrival during her conversation with Arrow but chose not to make a scene until she better knew the nature of this... entity.

Its consciousness was rough and grating; though, it held a sense of strength and power to it, but there was strength too within the girl's own psyche. It was a strength hidden beneath the layers of psychosis that had long claimed the girl's mind from her - but not her nature. However where this entity's essence crashed against her, her own was the subtle sound of whispers in the dark as their consciousnesses coiled against one another.

When she spoke her lips did not move, but her words rang clearly to the entity near at hand.

'I don't take well to people spying on my affairs,' she echoed. There was a bite to her words, and a sharpness to the whispers of her consciousness that would cut and flay as surely as glass if he kept his consciousness too closely entwined with her own. 'Make yourself known and name yourself - lest I name you foe.'

When addressed the entity's consciousness rippled and then it shifted, moved, or turned as if those words could accurately describe the movements of the mind or spirit. In turning a veil was lifted and the true vastness of the entity revealed. Eclipsed the psyche had been before. After it had been pressed to make itself known it was like a star that no star in the cosmos could contend with in terms of brightness or intensity. Then the entity's consciousness collapsed into something more easily comprehended and yet still alien.

"Ain't no sunshine when she's gone...", a male voice seemed to echo in song but these words were faint as if their origin were far away. "Hrmm", grumbled a voice much closer. "I am evaluating...", said the voice of an old man. "...not spying. I have no need to spy and there is a vast difference between those two actions." Without fan fair, a bolt of lightning, or a flash a man appeared within two reaches of the woman's right arm. The physical representation of the consciousness not there one moment and there the next.

Leather, metal, and cloth concealed the appearance of flesh. An ivory cloak marked with a pattern of black chains covered the physique of a man. Hood, cowl, and mantel shadowed his head, face, and shoulders. Whispers in the background, echoes or forks in the road that went unspoken or undone presented themselves to be observed. Though these words and actions presented to the woman were lost the moment they were revealed. Still it was his presence that fracture the fluid motion of the cosmos and it was the cosmos itself that mended the rent and rendered words and actions once clearly recognized into ghostly echoes and blurred movement. The truth of what could have happened then, what should have happened, and what actually did happen split resulting in the words he uttered next as he stood with stoic posture were he had appeared. "You are a woman and because you are a woman I will present to you my given name which is Dyew despite your demand and threat."

The Reverence-S Blackbird slipped through space at high speeds, on track to return home after its mission in the Aurora. A mission that had ended very differently to how those aboard had expected. The fugitives they had expected to be taking into custody had instead been rescued from custody and declared the rulers of the now-Empire once again. Nobody seemed to want to mention it, though. It was probably better for their health that they pretended that had been their goal all along.

Echo had spent most of the journey thus far in solitude, thinking long and hard on what had transpired. It had been his first encounter with the man they had once, and now again called the Divine Shadow. Before now he had just been a name, first one spoken with reverence and then one spoken with disdain. He had been taught to worship the ground the man walked on, and then told that had all been a lie and that he was nothing more than a man who had plunged the nation into chaos for selfish gains.

And now, things were set to change all over again. It was more than he could keep up with.

Then there was the matter of the nation they had left behind. The one that the Divine Shadow had ordered destroyed. He gathered that plans had changed, and the people were instead to be subjugated, but he couldn't help but continue to question why. Was it simply petty revenge for his treatment at the hands of their due process? Why had he ordered the death of the police officers, when Echo could easily have disabled them instead?

But Echo had obeyed. He had killed for no more reason than that he was told. Was that loyalty, he wondered? Was that a quality to be admired?

With those thoughts and questions running through his mind, he found himself at the door of the Commander's quarters. He had not spoken much with Commander Adams, but in his observations of the man he had seemed wise, experienced. Perhaps he would have answers for some of Echo's questions.

The young golem raised his hand to the door and knocked.

The door slid open with a hiss as Adams ran a hand through his disheveled hair. From his rumpled uniform and groggy state it seemed likely that Echo had roused him from slumber.

He might have dismissed Echo outright, but something about the lads eyes told Derek this was more than a social call.

He stepped aside and waved Echo in as he shrugged off the fog of sleep.

"At ease," he told Echo.

The quarters Echo stepped into were rather militant in nature with little in the way of personal effects or color to brighten the room.

"Thank you sir." Echo said, relaxing his posture slightly as he moved inside. He took in the Commander's state and immediately regretted his timing, but thought it would be more impertinent to suggest he come back another time now, after he'd already woken him.

The golem hesitated, as though expecting to be questioned or prompted for why he was here, but after a few moments of silence he picked up on the unspoken expectation for an explanation. "Sorry to disturb you, sir. But ..." he glanced down at the floor thoughtfully as he considered his words carefully.

"How do you keep track of what is right, and what is wrong, when what was right yesterday is wrong today, and what was wrong yesterday is grounds for praise and commendation today?" he asked finally, lifting his gaze back to Derek.
