Marlene watched the display quietly, pensively considering the response it was given to her.

"I'm not buying it." She said coolly, while keying in the manual override. The AI's voice playing over the comms.

"Manual override engaged..."

Marlene shot Johnson a look as she settled into the control station, pulling up the chair and easing into it, while grasping the ship's controls along each arm of the chair. The Tactical projection turned into a forward view-screen.

She keyed in a set of coordinates, factoring in the point of origin to make a short range tactical jump, and the CPF Patrol cruiser winked out of existence, only to re-appear once more roughly a kilometer to the starboard side of the Lighthugger.

The ship visibly shifted, revealing the sleek black hull of the stealth corvette, which banked up along the dorsal side of the ship, performed a barrel roll, and then settled back on the port side of the ship.

A female voice was then transmitted, stern, and with a hint of something else, perhaps it was malice?

"Elysium, disengage your engines and prepare for inspection."

Marlene briefly turned towards Johnson. "Prepare an ECW Package for short-range broadcast."

‘They aren’t buying it Rei…’ Specter said with dismay. ‘So... you got any other genius ideas?’ It asked sarcastically, waiting for a response from Rei.

“Yeah, feed them another line.” She answered as she tested the controls for a moment before the auto pilot fully disengaged. “Also, how long before we can make a subspace jump?” Rei questioned as she settled in, taking note of their position relative to the Aschen ship. Rushing and panicking would only cause further problems, and they already had one very large problem on their tail.

’T minus 10 minute. The drives do not allow it without a respool… as it currently stands we are still holding at 70% of output.. and need I advise you of what happens if you push towards 100?’ Specter replied with exasperation. A desire for self preservation was generally something that the A.I. possessed, and in this case it was faced with the decision of cutting the drives out from under it’s own captain or facing a worse fate.

“Relax, you’re in good hands.” Rei said with a snort. She knew better than to push the engines for too long, the risk of being drawn into her own wake was too great to not try to avoid. “Try to respool the drives…” She added bluntly as she pulled back on the controls, accelerating hard and peeling off towards the starboard side. “But in the meantime we’re going to play a little game with these guys. How good do think their pilot is?” Rei asked with a lopsided grin.

‘That depends on what your planning to do…’ The A.I. commented, suspecting that this was about to go places it wasn’t going to like. ‘But in the meantime.. I will stall but only because I don’t want grubby little Aschen fingers on my bits and bytes.’ It added grumpily as it rebroadcast the message it had just sent.

Marlene quietly licked her lips at the sight of the ship refusing to surrender, but she was confident in the capabilities of her own vessel.

She reached down to a set of controls near her chair, before she strapped herself in, and was planning to take the 900 meter stealth corvette on quite the ride.

“Attention Crew of the Scylla, secure the ship and strap yourselves in; we’re going for a little ride, all hands action stations!” Marlene called out on the intercom, before diverting power from the ventral weapons batteries to the G-diffuser, and the inertial dampeners.

At that moment the ship peeled off, and Marlene grinned. “Playing hard to get, are we?” She said to herself, before she threw the control stick to the side, and the Aschen ship moved swiftly, canting abruptly to the starboard side and accelerating.

“Ready foreward torpedo batteries.” Marlene called out on the intercom. “EM warheads, we’re going to try and shut them down.” She said cooly.

“Boarding action teams, prepare boarding tethers for deployment.”

Boarding tethers were a rather novel invention by the Aschen military, deployable magnetic harpoons that were designed to physically attatch the pursuing ship to the fleeing ship, facilitating boarding actions. A classic approach in Marlene’s mind, but it required precise maneuvering, and the two ships had to get within one hundred meters of eachother.

“Just gotta close the distance...” Marlene said to herself.

Rei's ship was significantly larger than Marlene's, but that didn't prevent it from being maneuverable. She hadn't expected the other ship to follow her, but at the same time it seemed almost normal. "Fine, play that way." She muttered as she glanced at the engine output for the second time. "How're those respools coming Specter?!" Rei asked as plotted her next move.

'Respool in an estimated t-minus five minutes.' The A.I. said grumpily, this was not it's idea of a fun time. Specter wondered why they were doing this when they could have been docked at some backwater station, mining it's registries for information. The larger stations were much more difficult to mine, but at the same time that much more lucrative. 'Dark drive output at at an estimated 75% and climbing... we will reach the risk threshold at 95%.' It added, translating real time information being given to it from the dumber computers that assisted in powering the engines.

"Well I'll just have to keep them busy till then." Rei commented as she urged the ship to dive down below the ecliptic plane of the current system. "In the mean time, ready point defenses and target anything they throw at us and their ship. We're done playing." She added as Specter chimed in acknowledgement.

Hacking into the other ship would be out of the question, unless they had the time to work backwards along the connection they had opened by answering the other's call. Speed, hull durability, and weapons were all they had left until they could open a slipspace window.

'T-minus 4 minutes until respool, engine output at 78% and holding.'

“Whoeever this is, they’re good...” Marlene said quietly through grit teeth, while her left hand moved over to a keypad. “FTL Drives spooled and ready?” She asked out loud.

“Yes ma’am, tactical drives are hot... what are you planning?” The Tactical officer asked with a hint of trepidation creeping into his voice.

“Tell everyone to brace for jump, and impact...” She said, finishing the sequence of numbers for the computer to calculate.

With the coordinates entered, and plotted by the shipboard AI, several warnings lit the main viewscreen, but Marlene didn’t seem to care, she opted to execute the reckless maneuver, one that she hoped would strike fear into the opposing vessel.

Her left hand grasped the lever, and lurched it forward. Energy surged along the length of the ship, and she winked out of existence, only to re-appear a split second later about one thousand feet in front of, and five hundred feet to the starboard side of the larger vessel.

Massive plasma engines flared to life and the Reverence S lunged forward on a collission course with the larger vessel, giving it’s captain a split second to react before the nose of the Reverence S plunged into the side of the Lighthugger, and the concussive shock from the impact would rock both vessels.

If the collision was successful, a dozen magnetic tethers would fire fourth from emplacements lining the ventral, and dorsal structure of the ship, aiming to attatch the two vessels together.

Marlene quietly hoped the crew of either ship were wearing EVA gear, as hull breaches lit up on her display in a shower of flashing red icons.

'I am currently detecting a slip space anomaly, Mistress. Actions?'

Rei frowned looking at the instrument read out; this wasn't good, there weren't any mapped risks or aether streams in this system to her knowledge. "That's not good..." She muttered to herself. This could mean that she had company besides the Aschen corvette incoming, but she wasn't going to risk it.

As seconds ticked by, she waited to see if the drives would finish their respool cycle. "Specter. Drive cycle status..." Rei said impatiently. She had never intended to get into a stand off with an Aschen corvette, but it seemed it was unavoidable. Isom and his damn paycheck had gotten the better of her, especially since it had allowed her to do some much needed repairs bringing long since dormant systems back online. "Shit... I bet.." She thought out loud, thinking she had some idea of what the corvette's pilot was fixing to attempt.

'Drive respool complete in t-minus 1 minute. Dark drive output at 80% and climbing. Risk horizon will open at 85% with our current estimated 3.5g of acceleration.'

"Too soon.. too soon.. too soon." Rei mumbled not happy with the report. She had hoped to be able to make a slipspace jump, but with technology as old as that on the Ghost Dance, it wasn't likely. Inertial dampeners or not, this had become a no win situation.

'Slip space anomaly 152.4 meters from starboard. Actions?' Specter asked again as Rei swore a string of rather creative expletives.

"Open fire, 25% power." She growled as she hauled the ship hard to port, grazing the Reverence. Specter did as it had been told and opened fire with the ship's point defenses.

Meanwhile the Ghost Dance shuddered and groaned, as the two ships came into contact with one another. However, the thick caul of ice and coating of hyper diamond on the hull prevented any major damage. A few sensor arrays and cameras were scraped off, but little else. The magnetic tethers would find purchase difficult, if near impossible. There was nothing if little that was ferrous for them to attach to on the Ghost Dance's hull.

The deep echoing of the impact between the two ships continued to echo through the Reverence S, as sparks showered from above, and brief power fluctuations ripped through the ship. The salvo from the point defenses of the Ghost dance flashed, danced, and scintillated all across the shields of the Reverence S.

Everyone was in silence, the crew of the ship only paused briefly during the impact, and those near the bow of the ship seemed to be worse off, scrambling for EVA suits amidst the depressuring compartments within the bow.

“Tethers were ineffective, nonmagnetic hull, and there seems to be too much ice, Ma’am.”

Marlene quietly grit her teeth, as the two ships began to separate.

“Ice... I can work with ice... I’m not letting this fool get away, not in that antiquated piece of trash...”

“Increase shield and engine power! Boarding teams are to report to the port airlocks on the double” She said, calling into the intercom.

At that moment, she slammed into the manual controls, pushed the ship hard to port, while increasing engine thrust.

Marlene kept her eyes on the shield gauge, and the sections of ship where shimmering blue was slowly starting to turn orange on the display, indicating shields were beginning to deplete.

Marlene had to think quick, and buy time. “Fire foreward torpedoes, tricobalt torpedoes!” Marlene shouted, she knew that tears into subspace this close would make Slipspace travel outright dangerous, and she hoped that it would buy time for her boarding teams to reach their posts.

The ship didn’t return fire, which wasnt typical of Aschen doctrine, rather it fired two missiles from it’s intact foreward missile bays; these would accelerate rapidly roughly 150,000 kilometers, before detonating into brilliant, and massive tears into subspace. Marlene then stood from her chair.

“You have the conn... I’m boarding that ship, either alone, or with my men!”

Marlene started towards the armory, where she would acquire a combat skin, and attempt to board the vessel herself.

"That was close... how long till we can jump out of here Specter?" Rei asked hoping that this would be the last of this whole mess. The Corvette seemed to be taking on heavy damage, and Ghost Dance had lost a good chunk of it's starboard sensor arrays. If she could get out of there, she could limp the ship along until reaching a system that would allow use of the ship's manufactories. That was a big if though, and contingent on not being chased halfway across the galaxy by some crazy Aschen pilot, who was barely worth flying circles around. At least that's how Rei saw it, but she could be a little over confident in her own skills at the helm.

'Respool complete in t-minus 45 seconds, however I do not recommend a jump with our starboard arrays in their current condition.' Specter answered flatly.

Rei swore again, and slammed her hand against the controls, "Fuck your arrays Specter! Just tell me if it's clear to jump!" She was anxious to be clear of the reverence and out of the system. For all she cared, Gil Isom could go screw himself and keep his money; this wasn't worth the damage to her ship or ending up in some Aschen brig.

'Aetheric anomaly off of the starboard bow.'

"Cut drives and begin nav core dump." Rei muttered placing her head in her hands. There was no getting out of things this time.

Marlene kept gritting her teeth, but noticed the ship seemed to be slowing down, or rather flying a more stable path, she felt it through the structure of the Reverence S, the subtle pull of inertia despite the G-diffuser. They were keeping pace with the ship, that was good.

The XO of the ship was watching his own displays, searching the Lighthugger’s exterior for an appropriate docking airlock.

Marlene also managed to finish putting her combat skin on. While she tugged on her gloves, and locked them into place, and she could feel the suit pressurize.

Moving to the airlock, a team of IIA Men followed suit, but she simply shook her head, then she signallled for the men to take their positions.

“Attention Elysium, prepare your external airlocks for coupling, transmitting coordinates now, failure to comply will result in hostile actions.” The XO hailed.

Slowly, the Aschen ship began to move paralell to the Ghost Dance, waiting for docking protocol.

'Navigational Core dump will commence in 60 seconds. They're requesting docking protocols, Mistress, should I give them one?' Specter answered, unsure how exactly to observe it's formerly fearless mistress. Was she really all bark and no bite or did this encounter with the Aschen have her that worried? The AI was uncertain, especially since from it's observations, she had tried every evasive maneuver the ship was capable of; outside of ditching the larger vessel and all it's comforts, small though they were, for the confines of a shuttle with no real set navigational course.

"Yes." Was all Rei said to Specter as she heaved herself up out of her seat, feeling a thousand times heavier and tireder than she had at the start of things. "Dump all communications and encrypt the rest of the system core and commence project Nostalgia for Infinity, There is no armor against Fate." She added as an after thought. It would be an absolute nightmare for the the Aschen to try to recover any information out of the system except what Isom had given her; and even that was questionable considering what she'd just instructed Specter to do.

'Project Nostalgia for Infinity is now active and will continue until commanded otherwise.' Specter acknowledged.

In the meantime, the ship transmitted a series of ancient docking codes over to the Reverence, while Rei ran down to the auxiliary bridge. She had an idea that would more than likely cause a bit of chaos while she tried to get down to the shuttle bays. "You know what to do Specter... make them work for it." She instructed, waiting for the acknowledgement chime from the AI.

It took about 5 seconds for the chime to play through the auxillary's speakers, but it signaled that now the 'rooms' on the ship and it's corridors would begin moving and changing; except for the spine of the ship, that would allow Rei easy access to the bays. Unless a passphrase was entered, it would continue to do such.

Marlene waited for the airlock to cycle, her men waited as well, taking the opportunity to check the seals on their suits, and for Marlene to check her own systems.

The deep, glossy black visor snapped shut over the woman’s face, and the suit pressurized and began to respond to her life signs. Everyone involved wore the equivalent of EVA Gear, as there had been many times where, in a last ditch effort pirates, and smugglers depressurized the airlock.

The Aschen’s shipboard AI quickly translated the docking coordinates and displayed them to the XO, as well as instructing the navigational AI Banks to guide the ship into position, locking into what was a fairly automatic process.

“G-4.” Marlene instructed, while holding out her hand. “Good hard seal... Alright...” She said while taking the G-4, and stepping aside to allow an IIA operative to move with a laser cutter.

They looked with a frown at the ice caked on the hull, this meant that the docking tube couldn’t get a good seal, it didn’t matter though as Marlene gave the signal to depressurize, their suits would function just fine.

One Aschen moved in with a heat gun, while the second began calibrating his laser cutter.

As if on command, a opening appeared in the hull and large chunks of ice began to fall away; glittering in the harsh light of the airlock couplings. Fog slowly rolled out with the temperature difference between the interior of the Ghost Dance and the couplings sitting out in cold space. Apparently the ship wasn't terribly interested in being cut into, or having a industrial or military grade heat gun being used on it.

Rei monitored most of all of this from the ship video feeds from what few undamaged cameras were left, all while she finished carefully putting on a membrane suit. She hated the thing, but it would provide more than adequate protection for what she planned next. As the suit began to seal around her, it filled itself with a bio compatible gel made from perfluorochemicals. At first it felt like she was drowning as first the suit filled itself with a liquid that infiltrated, the nose, eyes, lungs; anywhere that could potentially become problematic later. As the liquid solidified around her, Rei gasped and fought against the rising panic, despite having used the suit many times before. Eventually everything settled and she found herself able to breathe comfortably enough.

"Cut all life support and gravity Specter." She commanded as she slid through an access hatch in the auxiliary.

Marlene stood there patiently as the door opened, and her men moved quickly, each making an overlapping sweeping motion to cover the other’s field of fire.

None of them were amused when Carbon readings began to increase, but their suits were sealed anyway. As gravity released it’s embrace, the team began to float, using small RCS points on their suits to maneuver through the hallways. Marlene’s suit uplinked with the ships sensor system, and as if on cue, she tapped her comms.

“Wideband scans, passive.” She quipped, while letting her mind stretch, tuning her vision with the surroundings, accentuated by the suit’s HUD, which allowed Marlene to see in near total darkness.

“Beta team, fish ‘em out, bring a nuke, we’ll scuttle the ship and salvage it later.” She said on an unencrypted channel, hoping that whoever was aboard the vessel would take note and show themselves.

Clearing her throat, Marlene channeled her voice through the suit’s external vox, and she called out.

“I know a lighthugger when I see one.” Marlene called out in her childhood accent, prompting stares from her surrounding men. “I know enough that they don’t fly themselves into Aschen territories by themselves... You got two choices, you show yourself, or I tear this ship down, bolt, by bolt.” She threatened, and then called out once more. “I can sense your presence, I know someone’s flying this thing!”

Nodding to her men, they fanned out at the intersection.

Rei listened to Marlene shouting through the ship and snickered in amusement, "Then you haven't seen what's out there lately lady." She said to herself as she reached the top of the access shaft. "Just because it's not Aschen, doesn't mean it's what you think." Rei muttered still chuckling to herself as she checked the system readings Specter sent to her suit.

Marlene may have had the advantage of a HUD that allowed sight in total darkness, but Rei knew every corner of the ship by touch. Moving quietly in the darkness would be another thing though, as there were few handholds to grab up along the top passageway of the ship. Playing human pin ball was not on her to do list currently, she'd rather just jettison all of the Aschen aboard and be on her way. "Aw, really? Don't you know, most nuclear devices are illegal now." She grumbled hearing Marlene's threat to nuke and scuttle the ship. Two could play at that game.

"Specter, resume normal gravity operations at 3g in sections beta through delta." Rei commanded as she reached a brief stopping point along her transit of the ship.

'Normal gravimetric operations resuming in 5...4...3...2...1... All gravimetric systems are now functioning normally at this time.' Eccoed throughout the ship, as the gravity generators and other systems began to come back online. The only thing that failed to resume functioning was any type of life support, be it heat, or air. Those systems would likely remain down until Rei brought them back up with a verbal command.

"Try to function in that gravity now assholes.." She cackled to herself as she pushed off again heading for the shuttle bay. The ship would be a loss, and a sad one at that, but she'd rather live to string Isom up by his toes than anything else. "If you think you know a lighthugger, then maybe you would have thought before trying to board it." Rei added as she began to count access hatches, suspecting she was close to the shuttle bay by now.

Marlene hardly made a sound as gravity ramped up in their sections, the suit’s systems quickly compensated for the extra gravity by pressurizing the membrane under the armored suit to offset gravity’s pull, and the suit’s systems diverted power to the legs, allowing her to maintain her walk rather effortlessly.

Snapping to attention, Marlene narrowed her eyes and honed in the suit’s systems to the faint orange blob moving through the superstructure of the ship, with no life support, no regulation of temperature, a human lifesign would be relatively easy to discern amid the background radiation of the cold, lifeless ship. But, given the sheer size, Marlene knew the location of the orange blob would be impossible to discern precisely enough to trust it, so she closed her eyes and let her mind’s eye wander to several possible futures.

Her mind sent several mental commands, and her suit’s blink packs activated, Marlene took a gamble and made a long blink towards Rei, positioning herself just beyond the next hatch.

If Marlene managed to find the right compartment, the moment the hatch opened and Rei came through, Marlene would call out.

“Peek-a-boo motherfucker!”

She would stretch out and attempt to grab the other’s head, and shove it into the wall to knock her out.

If Marlene chose the wrong compartment, the chase would continue.

Rei frowned as she didn't quite get the result she had been expecting, "Well.. shit." She said to herself as she checked the feed from Specter of the requested sections of the ship. "Should have distracted them long enough.." Rei added as she paused above the hatch to cycle the access lock. It was a chore, but that was how it had been designed. Access to the superstructure was usually restricted for repairs and other maintenance of the ship conducted at certain intervals.

With the lock correctly cycled, she stepped on the rails to the access panel and felt herself tumbling rapidly downwards. "Holy....!" Was all she could really manage before she realized someone had a hold of her and was intent on bashing her brains out on a nearby bulkhead. Thankfully the suit had cushioned itself around her head, and it's material hardened further upon impact with the bulkhead, rendering her captor's actions futile.

Thinking quickly, Rei used her weight against the somewhat smaller woman and slipped out of the hold she'd been in and began to make a mad dash for the shuttle bays.

Marlene let out a shrill cackle as the other woman tried to make a dash away from her, but the Combat skin provided some robust enhancements to an already strong individual.

Marlene didn’t make any attempts to run after Rei, rather she did a slow walk, with an outstretched hand. She attempted to wrap her mind around the fleeing woman’s ankles, the anticipation was building, even amidst the cries of the frantic Aschen crew trying to raise her on comms. She was zeroing in on her target, and was focusing out all other distractions.

She envisioned the woman stumbling on her own two feet, no doubt influenced by Marlene’s Telekinesis, stumbling and falling to the floor. Marlene then jerked her hand to the right, slamming a hatch shut in front of Rei, and holding it shut with her own mind.

“Run Forrest Run!” Marlene cried out, her voice carrying through the suit’s vox system.

She hoped to have Rei trapped, as the bulkhead slammed shut behind Marlene.

“Why must you run from me?!” Marlene called out “It only delays the inevitable! You think getting out on a shuttle will save you? You think you can outrun a Condor!? I’m your only ticket out of this system alive... but if you didn’t have anything to hide, why are you running?” She said, making fists and stretching her hands.

Fortunately for Rei, she could think quickly and turned the psionicly induced tumble into front handspring, quickly righting herself after. With both the bulkheads sealed, and the motors unable to work against whatever sort of influence the other hand, Rei refused to panic. That seemed to be what the other woman wanted, but it wasn't going to happen. "I run because of how you treat you others who commit infractions, real or perceived." She explained coolly. This had been a suicide mission, and Isom had known it by taking full advantage of Harkov. She could see on the display inside the membrane suit's helmet that it was something close to 170 beats per minute and rising. At this rate she'd keel over from fighting some over powered weirdo in a exo suit before anything else. "I run because I saw you while I sleep. This.. this whole thing is a nightmare I wish to never see again." Rei tried to explain, really not able to accurately express the terror and distress she felt with this whole thing. There was a sense of disconnect that bothered her greatly, like she had done all of this before or seen all of it once before.

"Specter, Nostalgia for Infinity project protocol, see where the victor-victim bleeds." She said plainly and waited 5 seconds for the system chime.

'Nostalgia for Infinity project protocol now disengaged. All systems show normal, we are currently sitting at 30 degrees below the system's ecliptic plane. Instructions?' Specter asked through a nearby speaker as it restored the normal systems, and the rooms stopped moving.

"No further instructions." Rei said as she watched the air quality rapidly improve. She doubted if she were cooperative, that this whole thing would just blow over.

Marlene moved slowly, like a killer from one of those cliche eighties horror movies.

“I do as my emperor instructs.” She said, closing the gap, her face still obscured by the glossy, opaque black visor. “And it’s just you, and me...” Marlene said, approaching Rei.

“Lose the suit, you won’t need it where we’re going.” The woman instructed, as the lights went on and the systems went back to normal.

“Heres what’s gonna happen... you’re going to tell me exactly what I want to know, you’re going to tell me who you are, and who you’re working for.” She demanded, while reaching out to her belt, and pulling out an expandable baton.

Marlene paused a moment when Rei mentioned she had seen her in her sleep, this pause was rather drawn out, but it prompted Marlene to lurch forward, hand outstretched as she attempted to grab the other woman by the neck and pin her against the bulkhead.

“You come into my fucking star system, like you own the motherfucker... and then when we wanna check you out, you run because you are having Nightmares? I’m gonna... I’m gonna drive... a bullet..” Marlene then whistled, while her two fingers moved to tap on Reis helmet. “Right into your fucking skull, unless you fucking explain yourself.”

"I'm sure he loves having a psychopathic bitch like you barking at his heels." Rei said dully as she listened to Marlene's arrogance. There was no such thing as cooperating the right way it seemed, especially as she reached to try and slam Rei back into the bulk head again. "You might want to come up someway else to do that." She commented planting a foot square in the middle of the other's chest and shoving towards the opposite wall. The woman was crazy, and Rei was beginning to wonder how quickly she could get the airlocks to cycle and vent; if anything she'd be rid of the other, even if she spent the rest of the time drifting through space.

"Also last I checked, you didn't own this system." Rei said as she reached up behind her ear and pressed a small stud. "Feel free to shoot me anyway though, maybe that'll put a stop to this insanity."

The sleek, white, membrane suit began to fold up and in upon itself upon Rei's request. Beginning at the feet, it worked it's way up to the arms and finally the helmet folded out and away from the wear's face. The woman inside the suit, was tall and thin, at least a good three inches more than Marlene. Her skin was fair, with a few tattoos scattered across its sickly pallor acquired from limited light or sun exposure. Rei's clothing was rather plain, with no real identifiable logos or patches, it was mostly black or grey with the occasional stain or rip that had been carefully repaired.

"I lost the suit, what next? Bash my brains out? Shoot me? The options yours lady, pick one." She commented pushing a long strand of blueish hair out her eyes, a strange and unusual jade green. "But hey lookit me, I'm cooperating." Rei added, unable to resist the urge to take a stab at the other woman yet again.

Marlene didn’t opt to reveal herself quite yet, but waited for the membrane suit to be completely off, before she snatched the helmet and suit from Rei, and then reached another arm out to firmly grab her by the upper arm.

“How these next sequence of events plays out, will depend entirely on you.” She said, releasing her mental hold on the bulkheads and allowing them to open up.

“Lock onto my signal and prepare for matter-stream transit.” She called out over her radio, and then attempted to pull Rei close. “You might feel a tingling sensation.” She said cooly.

"Really now? Last I knew you people didn't give the rest of us much choice..." Rei commented raising an eyebrow as Marlene snatched the membrane suit and it's helmet from her. "Besides which didn't your mother teach you any manners, lady?" She added bluntly, unsure if she should be offended or not. At least she wasn't staring down the barrel of a disrupter rifle yet, but it still wasn't a guarantee it wouldn't happen.

As Marlene grabbed her, Rei allowed herself to stumble slightly and bump a sensor on the coms bracelet on her wrist. Specter picked up this discrete signal, and allowed it to remain hidden in the background processes and traffic of the ship's systems. However, this was a signal to begin a fail safe that generally meant that unless a biometric pass was used, most important information would be irretrievable. After all, she didn't want all her data broadcast across the galaxy in case of capture or worse.

"Tingly? Really? How's that work out for you?" Rei asked the other with a smirk as she waited to see what would happen.

Marlene simply scowled from behind the visor, of course the black opaqueness of the combat skin’s helmet meant that her face couldn’t be seen.

“Obviously yours didn’t teach you to respect authority.” Marlene quipped, as they were enveloped in a flash of white light, the interior of the Ghost Dance melting away to the interior of Marlene’s Reverence S, Bright interior lights replaced with dull red interior lights and black cooridors.

Marlene briskly tugged on Rei’s arm once more, leading her through the claustrophobic halls of the Aschen warship, dim lights interrupted briefly by flashes of sparks from damaged conduits.

They walked for what seemed like a good twenty minutes, until Rei was lead towards a room, where the door opened with a crystalline sounding chime, inside was a simple room, with a table, and two chairs. As Marlene lead Rei into the room, two assistants moved in behind her, one of them carrying a bright yellow briefcase, and a second carrying a vial and cotton swabs.

Marlene then gestured over towards the chair and nodded. “Sit, and open your mouth.”

"Eh.. more like didn't teach me to respect weird ass randos in spandex." She retorted with a snort once they were on the other ship. Rei couldn't say she really held much appreciation for the tight confines of the Aschen ship, much preferring the bigger spaces that Ghost Dance provided. However, she did have to admit, that the red lighting was a relatively nice touch, useful for working in low light environments without blinding yourself. Noting the damaged conduit with satisfaction, she observed that Specter had been able to do more damage to the small corvette than they'd been able to do to Ghost Dance.

Now sitting across from Marlene, she was surprised that they hadn't restrained her yet, after all she'd heard any manner of tall tales from people who had crossed the Aschen and managed to barely survive. "I would.. but you mind me asking why?" Rei said eyeing the suitcase with suspicion and trepidation.

Marlene paused briefly, and then looked up to her assistant. “Get the aurora chair ready.” She ordered, and the Assistant offered a nod, before turning to leave through the door, shutting it behind them.

Leaning forward, Marlene scowled. “I’m asking the fucking questions around here, do you understand!?.” She held out her hand, and the assistant handed her the cotton swab. “Open your gods damned mouth, or I’m going to open it for you... You know what.” Marlene then reached forward to grab Rei’s chin, trying to pinch her mouth open to swab inside.

“Thank you very much, can I be in charge for awhile!?”

If she managed to get a swab, she would pass the sample back to her assistant, whom turned to leave with it.

“Now...” Marlene said quietly, opening the briefcase, revealing all manner of crude instrumentation. “Who are you; and who do you work for... like I said before... the more fourth coming you are... the more comfortable this experience will be.”

At that moment two marines stepped into the room, restraints in hand, and they were approaching slowly, and methodically, grins on their faces.
