The Hearthforge

Protected by the most elite Artificer Guard and massive constructs his great city is constructed as a ring around the magma chamber of Mount Xanaldra. It serves not only as the center of government, but also as the center of culture, learning, commerce and religion for the Artificer people. Here dwell the rich and talented of the species, many having earned the rank of Forgemaster in the smaller towns before being granted the honor of working within the forges directly under the magical focal point that is Mount Xanaldra.

On one portion of the city's great ring is the Master Forge, were the Lord of the Forge, both a religious and governmental figure, rules his nation and practices his craft. It is believed by outsider scholars that this position is not hereditary or elected in any way, but that the bearer of this title holds it by merit of his work, as the best of his race at their unique art of forging elements.

Along the inside of the ring entrances to forges will be found that pass through the stone wall and into the magma chamber itself, necessary to harness its heat and magic energies. Throughout the rest of the ring are homes and other businesses, carved out of the very stone so as if they seemed naturally occurring where it not for their perfectionist construction.
