"Patience my dear Worm God, you and I are immune to the ravages of time. What are a few more days to us?" Valenessa asked reproachfully. "I will bring you a score of the unwashed masses for you to devour tonight, and I will be personally embroiling myself in the politics of Wing City in order to bring it under my sway. One last thing. Meet me in the ruins before the week is out. I'll have something extra tasty for you. You like a good hunt every now and again, right?"

He nodded and swung into the air, neatly walking upside down upon some sort of invisible platform. Upon closer inspection it could be seen as a trail of beetles that were amassing above his feet.

"I shall do, A good hunt is always fun. Aslong as you don't have to hunt every single day they bring a fresh thing to do. I look forward to our meeting. I myself shall be attempting to amass my own followers until then,The mindless masses of Wing City shall certainly want to follow me if I corrupt their ideas of Morality." He said with a small smile.

Valenessa flapped her wings and flew up several meters off the ground. Things were at last starting to come together.

"Well, my dear Worm God, it seems we have an accord," she laughed. "Don't hesitate to call upon me should you have need of me. Just say my name, Valenessa, three times and I will be there."

Serath grinned once more and walked up an upside down stairway of beetles to be level with her.

"As far as I know, you can do the same. I haven't been summoned in awhile though so expect the magic that does it to be a little rusty. Im a curious being so I'll keep an ear out for things your doing, After-all we only just met." He said with his tongue poking out before sitting upon an upside down beetle chair. "You have no idea how good it feels to just....sit...I've been laying down for thousands of years just...sitting. It's a pleasure I've missed."

"Soon, instead of vermin your throne shall be a mountain of corpses," Valenessa assured him. "Fear not for my doings, dear Worm God, for you shall know my sign when you see it. Glorious entropy awaits us, but for now I must be off."

With a powerful flap of her wings, the she-devil soared into the air and began to make her way to Wing City. She had planning to do.

Serath grinned to himself and laughed,a loud cackle that would travel after the she-devil as he turned into his worm form and fell onto the ground beneath him, decaying it instantly and borrowing through. She was fun, alot of fun...this would be interesting and all too easy to begin but, there were beings far more powerfull then him who would stop this destruction. He just hoped she had a good plan.

Aristotle raised a brow and then nodded his head, "Should I get my things or..AHH" he yelled as he was grabbed and vanished with Artemis into a purple smog, and then reappeared into the middle of nothing in a area. He looked around, and then saw that Artemis was still gripping his arm. He looked down and shuddered a little. "Wow...really hope I don't fall or I will be so screwed it's not even funny......" he said with a gulp.

Artemis grinned and shook his head, scrabbling upward with immense upperbody strength and dragged Aristotle to his feet on an outcropping and leaning over the edge and gesturing down at the enigmatic lightning storm. "This is where realities tear." The demon laughed, holding his chest as if it was funny.

"How's this for exciting?"

Aristotle's eyes widened as he was dragged upward to his feet, and then looked over the edge standing up fully and whistled, "Damn.......that's some freaky deaky shit right there, for sure" he said with a chuckle and looked over at Artemis, "It's pretty damn exciting, I have to say" he said with a wide smile on his face. He looked like he was thinking of something and swore under his breath. "We gotta get back to the alley, I just remembered I have something really important to do" he said with a loud sigh.

Artemis grabbed him and within the second, they were back in the alleyway. Artemis had unparalleled control of teleportion once he was free of the darkscape. Artemis grinned as they teleported back, the demon faded into the black with a quick wave and the bricks did their disappearing thing.

It was some time later that Anvaera crossed into the intimidating section of the mountains that bordered the Maw. The chaotic and violent energies that coursed out of the caverns far below the mountain trail caused her to pause, staring down with icy blue eyes. Her expression was level, but there was a wariness to her gaze and her posture. This place was very wrong. It would not do well to linger here.

She hastened onwards towards the forest that was now closer at hand, eager to leave the foul caverns below behind her.

Wondering in his straight jacket the young red headed boy stumbled over several clusters of rock before falling to his knees. "MAn, how'd i get here? Seriously! how. last i remember was sitting at the bar. now that place just pops. like a figure bubble in a crappy cartoon." he sucked his teeth as he stood.. a slightly cool breeze brushed his face, perking him up just a tiny bit. "Water... that'd be nice."

Nothing in The Maw was as it seemed, as far as Sincarro's eye could perceive. The place was completely chaotic, the very ground rife with pure magic. He could feel it pulsing through his feet every time he took a step and jolting his hand whenever he placed it on one of the large stones dotting the landscape.

"Well this certainly isn't good," he mused to himself, stabbing the spear-tip end of his long, straight mages' staff into the dirt and scribbling into his journal. He had no idea how long The Maw had been there, but unchecked, or exploited, it could become very dangerous.

"This will need at least a heptatrex barrier system... And probably a team of researchers and battlemages just to maintain that."

He finished a quick illustration sketch of the area and placed the journal back inside his robe, ready to move on to the next survey point. He could see strange, warped creatures in the distance, but they were too far to make him concerned for his safety. Still, what were they? Why were they there at all?

He took his staff, then began his march around to the far side of the area.

Overhead there was a whistle. The sorcerer, if he would look up, would see a white cockatoo soaring through the air, taking a turn as it flew over his head.

There was another whistle, this one in the distance. Walking up over a small hill not far in the distance was a young lady. She was almost too well dressed for a stroll out in the Maw, but she didn't seem to mind that the pleated hem to her dress dragged along behind her, or that there was dirt on her laced bodice from when she had bent down to check a hole in the ground.

She was pale as a sheet of paper, and her hair was black as ink. Her features, fine and delicate. Everything about her spoke temptress, even the way she walked, with a slight swing to her hips, with a slow meander. The cockatoo soared down and landed upon her arm, whistling to her.

It was here, that the young woman set her eyes upon the man who she'd been approaching. "Oi, there!" she called to him.

Sincarro was completely taken by surprise at the appearance of a woman at the scene, especially one who looked so... Delicate, so porcelain. "Can I help you?" He called back, sliding his staff over his shoulder so it was to rest against his back (with no physical strap to hold it there). "You do realize how dangerous this area is, yes? How phenomenally risky it is to even be near here, never-mind continuing to walk deeper into the area just like you are right this second?"

"Seriously, stop, or you might get eaten by something."

He watched the bird, no doubt trained. It rose further suspicion, since most women chose kittens, not birds taught so well that she didn't need to carry a cage around with her.

The woman's purple lips thinned in a smile of amusement. "Why, sir, how considerate you are. Really. A chivalrous gentlemen, if I ever saw one," she sarcastically replied, one hand laid on her chest as though in bashfulness. She quirked a brow and made her way closer to him.

"How would you feel if I said the same to you? Surely, a woman who is going to take such a confident trek through this volatile place, all the way through the woods and away from civilization, couldn't be completely helpless, yes?"

The cockatoo rustled its wings and cawed, though it sounded more like a cackle, as it looked at the blonde man. "I haven't seen another person here in a long time. What are you doing here?"

"Funnily enough, I'm out here to make sure that people can't just wander in and get themselves killed," he told her, pointing at the large opening in the planet that couldn't be more than 250 meters away from him. "And to make sure that nothing too dangerous can get out."

"This should be some sort of expulsion zone, guarded by an army and a team of highly-trained mages sat behind a wall 50 feet thick and warded by advanced magical seals. Instead it's got me, and it seems you, until one or both of us gets bored and decides to leave."

He took his journal out of his robe, opening it to the relevant page and beginning to write in it with a magical quill that needed no ink. He seemed to have the bad habit of saying aloud what he wrote:

"Met strange woman in expulsion zone. White skin, black hair, reasonably-sized breasts. Carries large white bird and wears some sort of corset. Not sure about intentions. Probably amateur archaeologist or wildlife spectator."

He paused for a moment, then lit up as though he had an epiphany.

"Possibly a fan who followed me here. She might do things if I ask nicely."

He began to grin quite widely, a clearly perverted glint in his eye that was soon swept away when a sudden burst of dormant energy threw his hair back and threatened to knock him over. He stood his ground, though. "Warning: the ground might explode at any moment."

"This place has been here for years and it hasn't bothered anyone or anything enough to be concerning. It is volatile, of course. And there does seem to be some interesting activity- different activity than normal- going on, but there are bigger things to be worried about."

She took a step back as the man was nearly pushed away. She and the bird exchanged glances, then both stared at the blonde.

"Perhaps treading more carefully would do us both good. Or retreating for now. I will send a report to the Patronus. Unless... you are one of them?"

"Never heard of them," he replied, turning through several pages of notes with the speed of lightning coursing through a licked fingertip. He found the page he note, reminded himself of a certain piece of information, then slid the journal back into his robe. "Anyway, the only way to handle this situation is really quite obvious."

"I need to go..." He began, pausing for dramatic effect as he flung his arm out to the opening of the expansive cavern system a few hundred meters away. "In there. An expedition of glorious proportions. Of course, I will need a month or so to prepare. Gather belongings, scrolls, research any similar anomalies and otherwise bore myself looking over crumbling old books, but I'm confident the result will be quite worth it."

"Besides, if what I think is true; that there is some hidden, ultimate, world-ending evil down there, then someone will need to stop it. I'm clearly the most qualified and handsome person here, so I will take the job. Will you be sticking around? It's probably best to stop any evil mages or necromancers or curious young ruffians getting too close for a while."

"Oh. You'll need to prepare?" The woman smiled at him devilishly. "Then how about we go and check inside right now?"

Strange woman, she was. One moment, she spoke about leaving, the next, she wanted to go straight into the source of the danger. "If there's a Cthulhu of Terra in its depths, or a man of evil incarnate, I think I, in the very least, will be able to handle them." It was a lie, of course, but she always did manage to be able to run away to safety before anything too bad came to pass.

She began to pass the blonde man towards the caverns. Before she got too far, she looked over her shoulder.

"I think that answers your question of if I'll be sticking around. I might ask you the same, if you think you're so unprepared for the trip. Those necromancers or curious young ruffians might be too much for you, maybe?"

A wink was given before she began to walk again.

"Well preparing would be the smart thing to do. Did I mention I happen to be a genius? Eidetic memory and everything. The point is that it could be quite incredibly dangerous in there and we might at least want to know what we're getting into and prepare for it before we just wander in like teenagers who don't believe the monsters actually exist."

He took his staff from his back and frowned, already convinced that she wouldn't listen to what he had to say. "I don't like to blow my own trumpet," he began at her insinuating that he couldn't handle a few rogue magic users, "but I am kind of a big deal. I'm sort of one of the most powerful mages ever and such."

"My name is Sincarro. You've probably heard of me. Of course you have."

He peered cautiously towards the cavern entrance, but followed her anyway. "If you spot any kind of web, automatically assume we're about to get attacked by giant spiders. That's the first rule you need to know when going into strange caverns. Oh, and don't disturb any resting Necromonicons unless you want to unleash a plague of evil spirits and undead on all mankind."

"Oh, whatever would I do without you here to give me advice? If we run into trouble, I might actually have to rely on you to protect me!" gasped the young witch, a hand on her cheek. "I'm such a fragile little thing."

It was apparent to her just what kind of man Sincarro was. She had met a few like him, as most others tended to be humble. At least, more humble than the chatty blonde. With a hand placed onto her hip, she gave him a tight-lipped smile and a raise of a brow. "Sincarro? Oh! Oh, I know exactly who you are!" she chirped. She walked right up to him, excitedly giving him a once-over. She took her hand off her hip and pointed a finger right in the middle of his chest.

"You're... that man I met five minutes ago!"

With a chortle, she turned around and walked into the cavern. "My name is Aderyn. I might not be as big a deal as yourself!"
