a part of The Multiverse, by Remæus.

The Davrell Rehabilitation Institute for Paranormals (christened 'The RIP') is the Terran National Government's largest, most secure detention and rehabilitation center for criminals of paranormal or supernatural persuasion. A massive collection of stony towers spiraling out of a Gothic manor, The RIP is a dark place; its intricately designed post-Romanesque architecture both enticing and intimidating. Despite its delicate, artistic appearance, The RIP is one of the most foundationally-sound institutes on Terra, its structure build from a near-indestructible calcyx-marble allatrope blend and laced with a plethora of mighty arcane wards and devout prayers. Responsible for housing and jailing over a thousand "supers" at any given time, The RIP uses only the latest technology, the strongest magics and the most intelligent doctors to secure, control and educate their "guests". The RIP is overseen by director Joran Davrell, a prestigious NPA agent and former university professor.

The Davrell Rehabilitation Institute for Paranormals (christened 'The RIP') is the Terran National Government's largest, most secure detention and rehabilitation center for criminals of paranormal or supernatural persuasion. Resting at the edge of the gloomy Cursed Woods beneath a massive, spiraling decline of stony stairs, The RIP is quite secluded from the rest of the civilized world. A massive collection of stony towers spiraling out of a Gothic manor, The RIP is a dark place, its intricately designed post-Romanesque architecture both enticing and intimidating.

As a government institution, the RIP is mostly guarded and maintained by the NPA. Enforcers patrol the castle at all times, specially-equipped to pin down even the most aggravated of superhuman inmates. The institution is also equipped with several well-supplied laboratories, the unseemly quantity of powered inmates making the place a breeding ground for scientific inquiry.

All scares and frights aside, The RIP is remarkably equipped, always prepared to accommodate superhumans of every shape and color. While the majority of The RIP is a sprawling prison/asylum, the facility does possess a few cultural outings, particularly the artistically-seasoned atria and lavishly-decorated dormitories. Were it not on the edge of a cursed forest and the home to hundreds of criminally-inclined superbeings, it would have made a nice hotel.

The RIP is overseen by director Joran Davrell, a prestigious NPA agent and former university professor.

"How was the trip?" It was a lame question he knew.

Aerilyn flushed at the cameras flashes and squeezed his arms. “Ahmad, why do they do that?” She still wasn’t used to the paparazzi. They were horrid people in her eyes. Horrid! She leaned against him, eyes readjusting as they made it through the gauntlet.

“I’d rather be at a gun convention that here.” She whispered to him, “Or any convention.” But not this. He had yet to talk her to going to one of her geeky cons yet. It just sounded so odd.

Of course, he probably thought the same about her love of guns.

She noted they were approached however by Rubano and managed a smile. “A pleasure to meet you Mr. Malijin.” She said with a smiled. “Director Drulovic was reluctant to come without us as well, so I thought it best to come along.” It was the most polite way she could think of to put it.

Jayden rolled his eyes at Lysaria's question, "One part security, twenty parts 'hey look at our shiny volunteer militia'!" he replied, "The real security tonight is like a private army, like my friend here said."

Jayden patted Ethan on the shoulder, "Hey, I'm with you bud. I feel like a rhino in a china shop. It's just a matter of time till I say something I shouldn't or knock over an old lady or somethin'," he joked with a grin.

The space-racer gave a conspiratorial glance around, "Want me to nab you a drink? I know you're under-age and all, but pfff. Pffffff I say."

Aiedail folded her arms disapprovingly, "Jayden! That's against the law!"

Jayden waved a hand at Aiedail, "Lighten up! I'm designated driver anyway, if I can't drink I reserve the right to let Ethan do it for me. That's how it works in my books."

Aiedail frowned disapprovingly, but couldn't help the half-smirk that snuck onto her face.

"How do you feel about Terran security?" The reporter pushed her microphone forward, trying not to get in the way all too much.

"Aerilyn, Rubano; Rubano, Aerilyn," Ahmad said, incredibly pleased with the fact that he'd managed to avoid stammering at all in making the introduction as he gestured between the Center-Rightist Chairman and his spouse. "I'm, uh, I'm just here for the, uh, for the food is all. Invitation arrived earlier in the week, and thought maybe, maybe it might be good to get out of the a -- house for a bit." He offered a quick smile that barely hid his near-cringe. "And, yeah, we thought maybe it'd be a good idea to, ah, to come with the Director. She's right -- " He quickly twisted his head to catch sight of the older woman trailing behind as Lebrun wheeled farther into the festivities.

As per usual, when the photographers and the reporters flooded, Rida was silent, and Rahuna answered every question. Unfortunately, Rida did not have the...experience...to deal with them at the moment. He spoke uncouthly. Rahuna simply could not tolerate that.

In response to Malcom's question, the Co-Captain gave a dashing smile and said, "Well, we had a bit of turbulence, but otherwise we had an easy landing, and an easier time getting used to the planet. It really is quite lovely."

In other words, "I hate this place, we crashed, everything is horrible."

Oh, but she left that out.

A horse-drawn hover-carriage goth from reign to bumper made it's way down a trail from the Cursed Wood. The spectacle pulled up before the RIP, settling lower to the ground as the horses halted.

The side door swung open, and a smartly dressed man climbed out. As he brushed himself off, a smile fixed itself on his face. He reached a hand into the strange caravan of sorts, where a silver gloved hand reached out to take his. Out descended a raven haired woman in deep plum dress which spilled from her form. She smiled, mouth closed, at the man. Breaking off, the woman would ascend the marble stairs towards the gala, posing for the flashbulbs and leaving him behind.

The man, who's name was Casren, looked back into the carriage. He again extended his hand. Taking it was a very young woman, perhaps at the age of eightteen, who donned a very Victorianesque gown. It was all a very lovely shade of red, with a frilly bustle in the back, holding cloth roses, and a corset tight around her torso. Her black hair was up in a tight bun, and her face...

...expressionless. She, however, tried to give the vampire a very tiny, tight smile. "This is exciting, Casren."

Kynala nodded her head, "I understand that a scientist's work is their lifeblood, Mr. Arakov." she said, "I have the utmost respect for that. OmniCorp would be nowhere without the outstanding minds behind its technologies."

A generous assessment - Kynala truly would have no trouble with trampling someone's research should it benefit her enough. But she couldn't say that, of course. Appearances and all. The Ri woman nodded, "Indeed, we have had some initial discussions around this deal already." she replied, "What about it did you wish to speak with me on?"

"Oh, come now, be realistic. In my personal experience, the bad guys are crazy, which is why they do what they do. I think logic is third on the decision influence list for them. Just because there's a few more people won't stop them, I say," Lysaria said to Ethan.

She snickered at Jayden's response. "Well, if you look good, at least it's better rep. Which means more people, which also means people like you more. And if something does happen, you get to help and also prove yourself. I don't see how this is particularly bad."

Seeing as the other two militiamen were talking, the blonde slid over to Aiedail. "Pst. I don't watch enough TV. Do you know who all these bigwigs are, or am I going to be left wondering if I should've asked for an autograph before the night ended?" Her hand swept out to all the various politicians and other famous people, currently associating and being swarmed with reporters.

He stepped a closer, his eyes seeming to widen, his voice growing more urgent.

"There is something wonderful happening soon, Ms. Evantus," he said quietly, "something wonderful. Something beautiful. Soon my people will redefine the way energy-development exists on Terra. We will redefine the way LIFE exists on Terra."

He stepped away, immediately reverting back to his casual slowness. "But I digress. I look forward to meeting with you again. Thank you for your time."

I don't really want to see if I've gotten over my problems just yet... especially not here. What the hell? A reporter. Aerilyn offered Winne a smiled. “I believe that Terra’s security is excellent, given the young age of our unification.” She offered nervous and squeezed Ahmad’s hand. Still it was terribly odd to be interviewed at all. “But please. I’m not someone you should be asking about that.” She said and glanced around. “Perhaps another guest would be more suited….” She didn’t know. She was rather nervous.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Rubano, and to be formally introduced.” She squeezed Ahamd’s hand, very very nervous. This was not her scene. She preferred her guns and her ammo and a fight to this. “Forgive me if I take a bit to respond, Rubano. I’m deaf you see, and it’s difficult to read lips, when lights are still flashing in your eyes.”

She followed a long, not quite certain. But they were moving, away from the flashing lights, and she hoped to be able to see clearly once more there.

Kynala smiled warmly, nodding her head. "The offer is most appreciated, Mr. Arakov. I will keep you in the forefront of my mind." She listened with interest as he went on regarding what she guessed was a personal project of his - detecting the passion in his voice that from a scientist, could only mean research that fascinated them.

"I look forward to it, Mr. Arakov, and I look forward to working with you in the future. I'll have my eyes open for any announcements from you and your associates." she said, being genuine this time. Any significant energy development was something that OmniCorp had a lot of potential interest in. But then, what sector couldn't that be said of? Technology might have been their roots, but... well, they weren't called 'Omni' Corp for nothing, nowadays.

Several NPA officers, dressed in tuxedos, would approach Drulovic and Lebrun as they entered the institution, paying particular attention to Lebrun.

"Madame director," one of them nodded respectfully, before turning to Jamal, "and director Lebrun. Doctor Davrell would like to express his sincere gratitude to you for showing up tonight. He hopes you will excuse him for a bit while he attends to security matters throughout the facility, but he asked me that I ensure you are comfortable to every degree in the meantime." The agent snapped his fingers, signalling a waiter to cross over to the three of them. He held out two glasses of particularly fine and expensive wine. The agent smiled. "You ARE our most important guest, after all."

Another agent would approach Casren and his harem of gorgeous girls as they entered. He greeted the vampire warmly. "Lord Casren. We are delighted you were able to make it. Doctor Davrell is occupied at the moment, but he looks forward to meeting with you and your dates." He nodded charmingly to each of the girls. A waiter walked swiftly over to the vampire, offering him two glasses of red liquid: one filled with fine wine, the other with rich blood.

"We hope you find the party to your liking."

Oh Allah, protect me from open-ended questions that I can't produce answers to within a socially acceptable amount of time. He could already hear his imam laughing at him for what must have been a ludicrous, spur of the moment pleading. "Thank you, Minister," he added, already flushing at the realization that this reaction was quite a bit delayed.

"Aww," Jayden gave a mocked-up sigh of disappointment, "But it'd be funnyyy!" The racer grinned, "Fine, but you at least owe me the story behind that in return, and it better be a good one! So go on, tell me about your unfortunate drinking past."

Aiedail smiled to Lysaria, "I don't know everyone myself, but I can access my databases for you!" she said, pausing for a moment as information whizzed through her mind, running faces of the guests she'd seen so far through her head. "The men and women who arrived in the ship resembling a manta-ray are representatives of the planet Misrana - Rahuna Kell and Rida Galimas. Parliament Chairman Rubano Malijin and politician David Walker are present, along with NPA director Jamal Lebrun, Arianne Drulovic, Director of the TIB and her assistant Ahmad Fazari and his wife Aerylin. Casren smiled with his lips shut back at Catira.

"Yes, it's been too long since a proper celebration," He reached for her arm, after quickly devouring the victorian beauty. He wished to ascend to the party together. Flashbulbs erupted around them, but it didn't bother him yet. It was night, and he had brought sunglasses. From his breast pocket he produced a pair, putting them on his face and humming a song. Meanwile, Daemala was having way too much fun enticing the camera men on with racious shoulder angles and air kisses.

"I don't believe I've ever been to a celebration," replied Catira. She followed him, eyes blinking at the bright flashes of light. She depended on Casren to lead her.

Always the gentleman, Casren placed his other hand over hers and lead Catira up the grandesque marble staircase that lead to the doors of The 'RIP'. He leaned in to whisper quizziacaly to her, "Never ever?"

"What kind of celebration might I have attended, Casren?" asked the young girl. "You must remember who I am."

Casren would smile, as they were approached by a friendly NPA agent. She was right, of course, as always.
"Good evening, what is your name Sir?" He offered the man a warm greeting in return, gesturing towards the platter to Catira.

Daemala whirled by Casren, giving the agent a wink, and plucked the glass of wine from the platter. The woman had fed recently, and didn't feel the want to dirty her teeth tonight. After shooting the agent a smile, she dismissed herself from her Sire to mingle.

Drulović nodded her appreciation, leaning her cane against a nearby table as she reached for one of the wineglasses with her right hand. She sipped quietly at the wine, and then turned away from Lebrun and the NPA agents, facing the empty table, for now unmolested by the reporters otherwise swarming the place.

For his part, Lebrun smiled, about half of his lips moving to form the expression. He took the proffered wineglass and sipped politely at the drink. "Thank you very much, Agent...?" He waited expectantly for the man's name.

After questioning, all of Misrana's representatives made their way into the Atria, with Rahuna clinging lightly onto Rida's arm. The captain leaned slightly over to Rahuna to whisper to her. "How long is this gonna last, Kell? This ain't my type of thing, you realize..."

"Grin and bear it, Rida. We were invited for a reason. You are representing our whole planet, Supremacy and Rebellion alike. I can only hope you won't bring embarrassment to us." hissed the Co-Captain, her hold tightening onto Rida's arm. The moment someone passed by, she nodded and greeted them, as though she was not bubbling with anger inside.

Rida shifted uncomfortably and ran his fingers through his hair, which Rahuna had gelled and combed back an hour before. This...really...was not his thing.

As they came toward Kynala, Rahuna gracefully approached her with another smile. "Ahh, you are Miss Kynala Evantus, am I correct? My name is Rahuna Kell, the Co-Captain of the Vigilante, representative of Misrana."
