The Multiverse

Setting

A shady market place teeming with activity as vendors peddle their wares to passersby. The Undermarket serves as a haven for thieves, brigands, cutthroats, and shady dealings.

Like the rest of the Undermarket, this marketplace exists as an extra-planar entity that runs parallel to the mortal plane. It can be found underground, deep beneath Wing City. There are no streets or open skies to be found here, and neither police patrols, or access to vehicles are available.

Law enforcement is a near non-existent concept among the denizens of the Undermarket. Should trouble be found, there would be none to call for police assistance (provided you have a phone company that can provide you with service across dimensions), nor any means for police to respond. Hidden far from the view of the the city above, those who venture down into the Undermarket are on their own with nothing more than their wits and a bit of luck in this god forsaken place.

The Undermarket is beyond the reach of normal methods of access. The Undermarket can be entered via the secret entrance in the basement of Gambit's Bar, the Smuggler's Route, and a handful of other obscure points across Wing City. In addition to the established entrance points, numerous one-way exits spill out into the sewers and service tunnels of Wing City. When departing the Undermarket from one of these points there is no tangible change in one's surroundings or perception, but attempts to return the same way will be met with failure as one finds oneself lost in the service tunnels and sewers of Wing City.

RP notes: The best way to describe the Undermarket is as an extra-planar entity that is lain over-top of the sewers and service tunnels of Wing City with multiple points at which a crossover is possible. It is both physically present and not present at the same time. While it is possible for law enforcement to locate entrances to the Undermarket, the metaphysical nature of these entrances means they can be destroyed and new ones created to take their place should the denizens of the Undermarket discover that the police have gained access.

She took a few steps back, eyes darting towards a slender gap between her and this utter bloodshed; an all too familiarly insanity inducing nightmare which struck something within the girl, as she stood with her boots planted firmly upon the ground. Who cares if any of these people live, or fall to the ground, begging for their lives...? Who cares? "Goddammit, I don't know what the Hell I'm supposed to do then! Sick of this, I'm sick of it." Then... Luci's eyes narrowed, shadows around her fingers dispersing into the air, only to rip directly through..something. The following euphoric rush as blood pooled around her feet felt... it felt... good?! No, that's not what she wanted... Rush fading, she was instead left with a feeling of dread, cowardice...

"I can't do this, not again! It's... I don't... I can't... I can't JUST STAND HERE, YOU IDIOT!" Her voice lowered, becoming more of a growl as she ripped away her feet from fear's grasp, stepping towards the two. "You can't tell me not to assist you, that's not something I'm going to listen to..." This was a literal act to display everything that was left of her... which wasn't much of anything at all. "... got it?" She withdrew her own long-sword, blade flickering with pure darkness. Something she hadn't put her hands on for years, but now was a pretty good time to use it.

As Cain watched the demon go for a overhead swing, he was certain he thought he had no chance against him. He was going to prove to this demon that there was more to him than meets the eye. He blocked the overhead sword strike using his own sword with ease. He then kicked the demon with surprising strength sending him flying into Luci once he knew that she was going to assist the demon. "Underestimating me will be your downfall demon. And you there woman, consorting with demons is heresy and you will therfore be terminated for the good of mankind. Jurgen! Front and center!" He called out and a man suddenly appeared from around the corner and joined the commisar. "I get the drill commisar. Terminate the woman consorting with the demon and you take care of the demon. So be it..." Jurgen stated as he drew his melta-gun from his back.

The kick was good, This man was Enough, He even accepted his challenge without a shred of doubt. Luci was an annoyance, If she got herself killed just becuse of some apparent attempt to help... He took one firm step forward stepping away from Luci who was lucky not to get hit too hard by him and towards the two men, Planting his foot deep in the stone, His pure size was enough to intimidate any mere soldier "Hah! Are you truly human? No, You are more! He released a quick mad laugh "You are not human, Don't try to trick yourself! With his one foot rotted he suddenly released a huge burst of fire straight out of his gaping helmet towards the two men, This was no normal fire, It was infernal Scorching the very earth. And immidently with the scorching flame forcing them both to the very least cover themself Psoph dove straight trough the fire, Sweeping his blades low attempting to purely divide both Cain's and Jurgen's legs apart

He had a proper reason to fight now, Not just some mad attempt for combat. With Luci behind him he felt rushed. His attacks had meaning, He was gonna face them both, and he was gonna gut them.

"Tch... you people are all the same... " As she dragged the tip of her sword across the ground, large cracks began to form; from which rivers of thick, ebony liquid spilled forth, dipping her beloved blade into the oozing substance would cause the very tip to curve. Luci, lunging from her position to deliver a swift, potentially crushing blow to the chest. "I guess I won't understand why I haven't been crushed yet myself....but I don't intend on it any time soon!" Oh, being thrown against the demon quite hurt, stung even... but only just. The liquid would adsorb her suffering, injury... for a brief period of time.

I'm gonna do this. Gonna kick ass, just like before Jack.

Cain chuckled when the demon made the accusation that he was not human. "That is what you think demon, I am indeed quite human." He stated until he noticed the massive wave of fire that scorched the earth he simply raised a massive barrier of ice which held against the hellish hellfire.

As the demon charged against Cain and Jurgen hoping to take out their legs, Cain retaliated by charging the demon to meet his blade. Jurgen dodged to the side and aimed his Meltagun at Luci and fired a beam of super heated energy meant to destroy armored opponents, of course in this case he was planning to stop her charge before she could close in on the commisar.

Psophor crossed blades with Cain, Moving them upwards placing Cain adn Psophor in a Standoff Hah! You lie to yourself! You have changed yourself so much in attempt to protect your pitiful people, You can no longer be a part of them! Psophor took one heavy step forwards pushing Cain back, Even with all of Cains might, He couldn't stand against a Chaotic Demon wielding double blades In raw strength. I will break this blade of yours! Then I will break you! Psophor took another similar step shoving both his blades against Cain forcing Him back further

Imagine it! What will happen if you perish now!? Psophor quickly moved both his blades backwards, pulling away from the standoff as he strikes the ground around him Before releasing another huff of flame point blank towards Cain.

Luci would need to prove that she could fight, Even if he didn't show it he knew that The Commisar would prove a more than worthy fight. Now his best bet would be beating him using raw strength. Giving him no moment to retaliate.

Soul Walked through the Undermarket unconcerned with his surroundings. he quickly sidestepped two people fighting in the street. he just made off with four million dollars in jewels from the city above. he grined to himself as as he readjusted the bag over his shoulder. he stopped at a corner where a person handed him a pouch. inside a note and a bag of coins. he tossed the bag of jewels to the other guy who turned to walk away with it.

Soul quietly pulled out his silenced Walter PPK and shot him in the back of the head. taking a few jewels for himself and leaving the bag for the hungry crowd. he swiftly dropped the clip slipping another bullet into the Magazine and loading it back into the gun. he then stepped off into the distance without a sound.

Later- (from here on open rp)

Soul sat down on the street and read the note: Gambit's Bar: Tomorrow: be there by noon: don't be late...

He Quickly looked Down at the Note then burned it. "No need for anyone to find out about that." he said to himself,

"no need to find out about what?" an unknown voice said from down the ally. Soul rolled landing on his feet pulling his pistol with his fingers tightening on the trigger and grip. his hands were steady and his aim precise.

"Who want's to know?" Soul replied.

"A man who would just as well take your head and search your pockets."

"Well in that case..." Soul quickly fired off three shots. and heard a familiar thud of a body falling. "never lose the element of surprise. you'll just fuck up your plans on an ambush. Especially on a S.T.A.L.K.E.R [Scavenger, Trespasser, Adventurer, Loner, Killer, Explorer].

Silently Sandar moved through the Undermarket, his thoughts occupying his attention as he moved with silent steps, his long black hair blowing in what breeze there was as his boots tapped silently with each step he took. His black eyes flickered from side to side, hands in his pockets as he watched and listened to what was going on around him. Even though he seemed like a kid out of place, or well a grown up out of place, he wasn't considering he already knew how many vending stall's were set up and which one was getting more attention then the other's.

As he moved silently along he would pause at certain stall's to look over the wear's or even hackle with the owner for a ludicrous amount of coin, until he felt satisfied with the price and moved on. Trinkets and odd fruits seemed to catch his attention along with a stall that held weapons of all types. These he looked over closely his eye's examining each weapon. Gun, knife, blade and other, though he wasn't all that interested in bombs, launchers or other such weapons. Mostly gun's, knifes and blades. Each one that caught his attention he would pick up and examine closely, running his hands over them as he did.

Morter silently watched the young man in black, who's hair seemed to cover most of his features, what he could see made him think of a feminine male struggling to survive in the darker ally's. Yet this male, who seemed to accept his looks, was confident and seemed to truly appreciate his weapons. A smile curved the old man's lips as he watched him hold, twirl and swing one of the thin Katana blades he had bought several years ago. "You seem to know your weapon's well, my boy."

Lifting his head from looking at the well crafted Katana he was looking over, Sandar smiled even as he shrugged his shoulders. "You could say I've learned how to use a blade more than a gun. But a good sniper comes in handy when it's needed." he stated as he smiled slightly.

A brow arched as Morter took in the male's words and wondered if he was a Merc or something else. "Well you wont find any blades as good as mine, same with the guns." he stated with a proud smile. For Morter was one of the best Weapon's Stall's in the Undermarket. Something he was very proud of.

Sandar smiled as he laid the Katana down and picked up a black Desert Eagle and tuned it over in his hands. "I can see that." he stated with a nod as he unclipped the ammo than slipped it back in before looking over it again and set it down. His attention, though on the Weapon's before him and the Stall owner, Sandar didn't ignore his surroundings knowing how such a place actually was.

Tucked away from the sprawl, hustle and bustle that was the main branch of the Undermarket stood a relatively unassuming little building to most that walked by it. To those that were interested in business with the owner and knew what to look for, the runic sign above the door lit up to reveal the words Iris' Den. This hamlet is also known as the best made-to-order magic shop in the city that would cater to just about anyone who could fork up the cash.

Tucked away in the back room of Iris' Den, a woman was sketching away on a set of lock-picks with what appeared to be a metal pen. With practiced ease, the glowing tip of the stylus cut through the metal like hot butter, leaving runic symbols in it's wake and glowing after each was complete. The woman doing the sketching was the owner, Reina Pentest, and was completing an order placed earlier that week. Thieves looking for an easier way to their next score, and would probably wind up stealing from each other, but that wasn't any of her business, as long as some of what they stole was fenced and she was paid. Her glasses rested on her forehead as she finished, eyes glowing as she took in her handiwork. Perfect, as both the client and herself demanded. She sits back with a sigh, taking a break after the hour and change of work.

The door to Iris' Den opened and possibly the sound of a small chime rang from the door or something otherworldly would call the shopkeepers attention back to the front. Regardless of what caught the owners attention a rather hefty woman walked into the establishment only to stop and look at some of the wares present within line of sight. Her amber hues glistened in the light like two set gems upon a statue whilst her laced hands delicately traced some of the wares, learning of their past, present, and future with little difficulty.

Forna stopped just short of a few candles that had been worked on and admired the rune work in the wax. Her gaze fell upon the inscriptions and then with her interests moved else ware she moved on to a small necklace that had an aura of its own. The witches amber gaze now seemed crimson as she assessed the mystical workings of the shop and her surroundings only to then remove her massive hat and place it firmly upon her bosom.

"One would imagine it to be rude to simply window-shop when such a quant little place like this exists for all the senses to enjoy." Her words escaped her lips like red velvet cake on an autumn eve. Her left hand moved dark locks from her face as she turned to look at another item that so demanded her attention.

After taking a moment to relax, Reina's break was interrupted by the sound of a distant cymbal being struck playing in the backroom, the signal that one was interested in the shop. Extracting herself from her chair would have seemed like a painful process to anyone that was watching, but it really was that dang comfortable. Her mom really outdid herself on that piece of enchanted heaven that was the backroom recliner. Shaking herself of any metal shavings that might have collected themselves to her person, Reina quickly made herself look presentable to anyone that may soon stumble in. A moment later, a small tinkling emanated from the storefront meaning that her customer had actually entered. Reina lowered her glasses and stuffed her work into her jacket pockets to allow whoever was out there to look over her work for a little bit. The store was charmed in a way that the various shelves would summon things from the storage vault under the store according to the desires of the shopper, so she had taken a habit to letting someone meander about before confronting them. Fewer questions that way.

Thinking that the store had enough time to assess, Reina open the door separating the two halves of the store just in time to hear the velveteen words leave the woman in front of her. The shopkeep raised her eyebrows for a moment, knowing that tone for what is was: the way a woman who has the world in her pocket speaks. Her mother had that tone and she has been trying to emulate it for years without success. Reina took a moment to assess the plump woman in front of her, through both her stature and the items in the room. This woman stood tall, movement matching speech seeming to command the room. The items were some of the bigger powerhouses that the shop had to offer. Candles that allowed for almost instantaneous astral travel, a pendant that could bend the will of many a man and the most terrifying of anything else she had ever made: an intricately carved wand that weakened an object's cohesion. It was a wand of disintegration, of turning things to dust, and Reina had never seen that wand brought to the shelves before. This woman was dangerous. The most interesting kind of client.

Summoning the practiced smile of years of deals, Reina finally spoke, "Hello, and welcome to Iris' Den. I see you have taken an interest in some of my products." She gestures to the destructive wand of ebony. "Normally, I do custom work, were you hoping for something specific?"

The opulent woman smiled like the devil as she took up the marvelously crafted wand. The dark wood was exquisite and the enchantment placed upon it was most useful indeed.

"A lovely shop indeed, though I must confess that this is not my first time within this humble shop." Forna took a deep breath and let a calmed sigh escape her lips. Her eyes shifted off the wand and over to the owner of the store.

"Of course this wand is of the finest quality but I'm in the market for something a bit more permanent, a craftsman, no craftswoman, of the highest quality. I would imagine that the daughter of Madame Pentest would prove to be more than capable of such a task." Forna set the wand aside for a moment and removed the lace from her right hand only to extend it towards Reina in an act of courtesy and for one of introduction.

"I am Forna Big-hat, a former acquaintance of your mothers, and an admirer of such work for sometime." The witch began to cackle as she awaited the young girl.

Allowing the compliment of her store and merchandise roll over her, Reina froze for a moment at the mention of her mother. The smile become slightly darker she responded, "Well, if you knew my mother, I might say I have a bit of learning to do before I quite reach her caliber." This, of course, wasn't entirely true. Reina had improved upon several of the enchantments that her mother had shown her. The only thing holding her back was a the extensive repertoire of matrices that can only really be attained by decades of experience. The talismonger took the extended hand of the witch and shook it in greeting, continuing to speak with a matching smile over the cackling, "So, you had a business proposal? What exactly would this job entail? Location, pay, full details would be greatly appreciated."

"My child your skill is remarkable. Trust me my eyes have seen a few odds and ends in my day." Forna charmingly continued on as if fawning over the girl like a mother to her daughter. "But as for my proposal allow me to show you something first."

The witch took her hand back and reached deep into her massive hat only to produce the strangest thing, a puzzle box with multifaceted locks and mirrors. Strange letters and words appeared and vanished along the edges and the symbols that plagued the small contraption and its mahogany wood was polished with a dark stain to accentuate the silver plating that gave it a more profound beauty.

"It was a gift from your mother. At the time when I first solved it I was baffled to say the least, what works she had created did not compare, stunning and truly a constant mystery." The witch smiled as she held onto the device whilst placing her massive hat back atop her head. "I could think of no other to own such a device but yourself. However in return for this gift I would like you to take up working for me. Consider it a mobile line of work with a payments of work such as this and opportunity to improve even further upon your masterful skills. Besides what is life's greatest reward than learning more of your mothers trade secrets and even finding more such skillfully crafted objects......"

Forna brought her hand over the device causing it to suddenly emanate a pale glow and sending a refreshing chill amongst the two of them. "Magic has its own rewards of course...."

Being showered with praise was nothing new to Reina, but that didn't stop her from playing the part of the bashful prodigy. With a blush, she uttered a small thanks before being distracted by the witch moving to pull something from her hat with the proposition of what she presumed to be her first payment. She was not disappointed. What was produced from the unassuming piece of cloth was something pulled as much from her memory as her wildest dreams. Her mother's catalog of runic matrices, her Matrix Puzzlebox. Her eyes widened at the shimmering wood and the sparkling silver, stylus seeming to appear in her right hand in her haste to examine the object. The enchanter lifted her glasses and runes seemed to dance off of the box, enticing her closer. The words of the other woman in the room didn't seem to reach her ears as she reached for the box, tapping her stylus in a couple of specific places on the object. At the stylus's touch, those able to see magic would see holographic runes projecting from the box in all directions, filling the small room with light from every color of the rainbow. Many of these were easily recognizable, others were less so.

A proper objection to the witch's proposition never came to mind as she rushed to the back room to prepare for departure. Pulling a bag from a cabinet on the wall, she wrapped up the picks and attached a note allowing for the proper pickup later in the week. It being her last order, she was free to move out as she pleased. She walked out of her workshop and placed her hand on the frame of the door, causing it to come off the wall and shrink to the size of a playing card in her outstretched hand, leaving nothing on the wall on which it once was. Placing the door in her jacket pocket, she walked around the room, picking up bits of her handiwork as she went. She made her way back over to the wand that had enticed the witch previously and it's bleached willow twin appeared by it's side, and she pocketed those as well. With a flick of her stylus, the front door locked and the lights outside flickered off. She placed her hand on the cube before asking, "When can I start?"

Forna had never been more pleased and even the devil shuddered at such a notion. She simply turned and waved for the young woman to follow. "I'm gathering more people. A large project can only benefit from other skilled individuals. Check the bottom of the puzzle and you will find an address to a rather nice locale."

Slowly the witch began to fade from view only to cackle at how her progress was going.

"Be sure to dress your finest my dear."

Within the shadows, a gelatinous mass grew. Its color looked so...alien. It didn't look red, green, blue, purple, anything. It slid around before gaining form. To most people he just looked humanoid. The monster looked to his side to see a piss-drunk miscreant. He was singing a jolly tune about robbing people. While it was about admirable morals - at least to him - He elongated his arm and shoved it down his throat. He felt around the slimy interior until he could find his most vital organ. The heart.

Shortly after, he grabbed the beating organ and ripped it out. He held it over his head, which is where a large eye was. He squeezed it and the red juice was sprayed into the pupil, or at least what would've been the pupil, because it acted more like a mouth than anything. His body started to violently twitch and shake as he turned into a flat centagon. He looked around. If he could smile, he would, but he doesn't have a mouth. He had something terrible planned.

Inside the undermarket, a squad of guardsman. Ten in strength began to sweep the undermarket. They had began a purge of criminals in this part of Wing City and ever since then they were stationed here. They soon encountered the strange...hideous form...to them it was a demon, possibly part of the Shadow Legion. "Emperor be damned! Another damnable demon! Vox command! And open fire!" The mass looked in their direction. He charged at them, all while slapping away the bullets, or, at least his equivalent. The ricocheted bullets started hitting random criminals and buildings. He started to shift form again. He turned, not black, but white. So white that looking directly at him would be equivalent to staring directly at the sun.

His form was a fifth-dimensional dodecahedron. He charged directly for the one in the center, aiming for his chest. As he picked up velocity, he started to laugh. His laugh got faster as he picked up speed.

The seargent would stand his ground as the creature charged at him, when it got close he would attempt to strike it with the roaring blade.

The Guardsman, stared at the light trying to gun it down. It was very bright, no doubt after this their vision would be messed up. However this was a far cry from being dead. The Vox Op in the back contacted command. "Commisar come in! We encountered a demonic creature. Requesting backup!" The Vox op contacted and was met with a quick reply.
