Setting

Home of the Supremacy leaders. Of Misrana's strongest armies. With the highest, most advanced forms of technology on the planet. The skyscrapers pierce the clouds above and rise greater still. There are no trees, nor any parks, or even a lawn of grass. It is all made of that which is man made. Well, that is one way of saying it. Quite obviously, not everything in the city is the same as man.

Strange vehicles can be seen zipping between gigantic buildings, trailing neon lights behind them. They use, not rockets, but lifters, or wings that beat the same as that on a small insect. Arrowheads, jet black planes that take on the shape of which they were named, zoom higher above the city into the distance. Upon the streets, there are many people going about their lives, and it almost seems as though the military personnel outnumbers them.

There seems to be no end of other species walking alongside humans as though they were kin. Strange, large-headed aliens with grey skin and six arms climb the sides of the buildings into offices high up. People with horns curled about their heads chat in groups. Others, who have long, barbed tails extending from a spinal structure along their backs, hurry to their next destination.

The House of the Triumvirate stands out from all other buildings, more for its grandeur than its size. It is made of various domes and columns, with statues carved into the walls of the Supremacy's history.

Still, the members of the Triumvirate did not exchange glances, but they did not need to in able to convey their thoughts to one another.

A businessman.
He might appeal to the Rebellion.
More supersoldiers on their end could turn the tide of the war. For now.
We made it a point never to employ foreigners. We are to make a good example for our people.
There comes a point where we may have no choice.

All of that, in three seconds of silence. They seemed undecided, specifically the Alnova, however, he seemed to be contemplating it, where the Kairan scoffed. The Parran, however...

"Perhaps." she said. "We will need more time to contemplate this decision. Do not attempt to stay. We will contact you when we have reached a decision. Does that suit you?"

"It suits me well enough for now." Lochlyn said, "I'll be heading to Hera Prime to refuel my ship, I might be there for at least another day or two. So, I won't be far." Lochlyn told the Misranan leaders.

He gestured forward, Veronica stepping up and tossing a datachip towards the Triumvirate. "Everything you need to contact me is on there." Lochlyn told them before turning away.

"I do hope you'll accept my offer." He said, walking off with Veronica in tow.

The datachip stopped abruptly in midair, twenty feet in front of the Triumvirate, and rotated slowly. Their eyes followed Lochlyn eerily in unison as he walked out.

"We hope you a safe trip." the Parran said, narrowing her eyes. When they were gone, silence descended upon the meeting room once again.

Triumvira was as busy as ever. It was early morning in the last month of Swelter, Kneigan, going into the first month of Halagan, the Season of Cold. Most people wore light clothing, but not skanty clothing, at this time. It was cool, and the feathers of the seasonal Sajeera began to turn to a bright orange.

Standing outside of the House of the Triumvirate, right upon the polished white stairs, was a dainty young lady. Her cheeks were rosy and her eyes doe-like, giving off the impression that she was young and innocent. She wore all white, a dress that flowed down to the floor and draped over the stairs. It sloped off of and revealed her tiny, smooth shoulders. She had a head of thick, white-blonde hair that touched the floor in a braid.

Strange birdlike creatures with four wings and long tails flocked around her as though she were an incarnation of Snow White. She was easily one of the fairest women in Triumvira, and without any kind of surgery to pull it off.

She waited patiently for this Lochlyn man who they had called down days after the attack on Aether City and Hera Prime.

It didn't take long for Lochlyn to appear, a Misranan pointing him the proper direction. The man was suited as usual. His suit a dark blue, a trenchcoat to protect from the colder weather bearing the same colors.

Ever stoic, the tall man advanced on the House of the Triumvirate, blue eyes lingering on the young woman he grew closer and closer to. "I was expecting armed guards." Lochlyn said to the young woman, bringing himself to a stop a little ways from her. "Or, perhaps you're much more than you seem." He continued.

"People are always more than they seem."

She greeted him with a pleasant smile. "Lochlyn Haley, I presume?" As soon as she spoke, the birds fluttered into the air and began to fly around them before soaring higher, onto the ledges of the House. "I am very pleased to meet you. I am Nadhara Vane. The Alnova is very confident that he would not need to use guards to greet you today." Her smile gently widened. "I am but the Subaltern beneath him. I lead Religious affairs within Triumvira as a chosen maiden," she explained. "Do I seem much more than that?"

"Do you seem much more than that? No." Lochlyn told Nadhara, "Are you? Maybe." The Englishman said, gesturing towards the building. "After you, Ms. Vane. I have some matters to attend to soon, so it's best we get to it while we can." Lochlyn said, waiting for Nadhara before following behind her.

Nadhara leaned her head forward in a half nod. "Very well, Lochlyn Haley. Please come with me." She turned and began to walk up the thin steps, dress flowing over the stone without getting caught beneath her feet or dirtied.

She would take Lochlyn past the same magnificent hallways, historic carvings, and into the same lavish and tremendous domed meeting room with the three thrones at the end, where, once again, the Alnova, the Parran, and the Kairan sat.

Nadhara kept walking upon the pale ground, upon which was finely detailed, until she came to stand beside the three thrones, smile still upon her face.

The Alnova's mighty voice echoes around the great room.

"We meet again, Lochlyn Haley."

Lochlyn followed close behind the woman, blue eyes searching the familiar walls, floors, and corridors. He had to admit, he liked it all. Everything was classy, regal, even awe-inspiring.

"We do." Lochlyn said, stepping up to address the trinity of Misranan leaders. "I hope you've had time to discuss my offers. I would understand your opposition to supersoldiers and the like, but the medical technology you could have would be nothing short of breathtaking." Lochlyn told the Misranans.

"You could help so many people combining my technology with your own. You could revolutionize medicine with me." The man said, bringing his sales pitch to an end.

The Three responded to Lochlyn at first with a long moment of contemplation. Badoren was the first to speak.

"Lochlyn Haley, though we appreciate your efforts in aiding the defense of Hera Prime against the foreign ships, we are still uncertain on the matter of partnership."

The Parran spoke up afterwards. "That is incorrect. We are not uncertain. We certainly know that we shall not be forming any sort of union with Jupiter Corporation at this time."

And then the Kairan. "We have complete and utter confidence that our forces will overrun the Rebellion given a small amount of time. Meanwhile, we will continue to avoid any outside influence. It is for the best."

"And, how long have you been fighting?" Lochlyn asked, "I respect your wishes, I will be leaving. But, tell me, just how long have you been trying to end this rebellion?" The Englishman asked.

"I have seen in my life the failings of isolationism, of misplaced confidence, nay, arrogance." Lochlyn said, "I can not say that I can foresee the future, but I can remember the past. History repeats itself. I bid you a farewell." Lochlyn continued, offering the Misranan leaders a respectful nod of his head.

"Nadhara, would you like to escort me out?" The man asked, turning his blue eyes on the blonde woman.

"Wars are not won overnight," stated Sanya. "Two years is hardly a long time to be waging a war." Had it already been two years? The Parren sighed inwardly.

Nadhara, despite slightly loathing that he treated her like some attendant, smiled patiently. "Very well, Lochlyn Haley." She walked after him, the dress trailing after her. She sauntered past and into the hall. "What a thing to say to the Triumvirate. You are a brave man," she laughed.

Lochlyn swaggered out and down the hall, eventually slowing down to keep pace with Nadhara. "I guess you could say I'm brave." Lochlyn told Nadhara, "But, what is it that they can do to me?" The man asked, casting a glance down towards the woman.

"I really wanted you to accompany me because I want to know, what is it I can do for you?" Lochlyn asked, "I assume you're allowed to have a social life? A romantic life?" The Englishman asked, "Or am I too foreign for your tastes? One must always try something new, be..." He paused for a moment.

"Brave."

The woman gave him a sideways glance and bunched her lips to suppress a laugh. She exhaled through her nose and stared out ahead.

"My tastes are very limited, Lochlyn Haley!" The woman raised her fingers to touch her lips as she let out many soft giggles. "I am the Subaltern, and, thus, the head of Traquian affairs. Traquianism is the Supremacy's only religion. I am to be the next Mother, and because of this I must remain both single and with a virtue untouched. The flattery does not go unappreciated, however!"

She continued walking until they were at the steps again, and the birds fluttered overhead. "Thank you for your visit. I do hope that your next visit, if there will be one, shall be much smoother. It is in my own belief that our Idol lead you here to help us."

He nodded, "Unfortunate. You are a beautiful woman." Lochlyn said to Nadhara, "One can not say I didn't try." He continued, keeping up with the woman as they approached the exit.

When Nadhara stopped Lochlyn kept walking awhile longer, then stopping to address the woman. "I do hope there is another visit for me." He said, "I do enjoy looking if I can't touch." The Englishman said, flashing a quick smile. It was the only facial expression he had shown that wasn't completely neutral or focused.

"And let us hope you aren't wrong about your Idol, or at least, let's hope your leadership allows me to help." He said, turning to continue away from the building. "I will be seeing more of you, Nadhara."

"Soon." The man added, before eventually departing from the area to head back to his ship.
