You climb the marble stairs towards Verinotte Hall ...

Standing proud and high with dragons crawling up it's sides was Verinotte Hall. Large gilded doors up an elaborate marble staircase marked the entrance to this place. The staircase wrapped around the corner, disappearing to the square.

Here, in Verinotte Hall, is where the Grand Balls would be held. Every Halloween, there is a full week of celebration. There are also Equinox and Solstice balls, and citizens of Verinotte Hollow are allowed to rent out the space.

In the upper levels there is a court room, as well as a small governement office. Tunnels are rumored to exist beneath this building. The clock tower is currently under construction, as it was taken out during the Ball of Chaos

Sweeping open the grand, carved doors, a man with chiseled bones clicked across the grand marble floors. He reflected rainbow in all of the gold that decoratively plated the interior of the main vestibule, for it was the only color the man was wearing. His hair was oiled beneath a wide brimmed purple top hat. He wore no shirt beneath a purple trench coat, and under that, black spandex pants.

Ahhhh,
He sighed audibly, loving how his voice echoed here. After striking a pose, he looked to the large clockworks housed in the center of the room. There were many cogs of different metals, all rotating and working to operate the clock tower. In the part Zosimos looked, the gears were assembled so their turning represented the passing of days, months, and years.

Oh Fear!
He exclaimed upon seeing the day, whisking his hat from his head and flinging it across the hall

Casren steps out from the shadows and catches the hat. "Nice throw chap, but really, is this the place for it?" His voice is very smug. He examines the accessory before placing it on his head. "Well how do I look?" His yellow eye's shine from under the brim.

The clacking, hollow voice seemed to emerge from the darkest corners of the room. It was ancient, far older than anyone else here, with a cold, creeping edge that played along its vocalization. Emerging, as if from now where, but really from a pocket dimension in the Arcane Weave, Bangal steeped forth. With his kitten and feline entourage in tow.

"I'd say the disguise is almost identical. Though I must ask, vampire, why we hare having him appear as...the other vampire?" He wasn't being disrespectful. But his mind was elsewhere. One of his cats was pregnant, and the lich's mind was more filled with the thoughts of fluffy, newborn, mewling babes.

It looked like Casren, but it didn't smell quite like Casren. Close, but no cigar. No, no, the morph couldn't fool the father of the bride, so to speak.

Zosimos smiled, striding over towards the Casren duplicate. His footsteps echoed, and he swept a gaze around. So they were the only three here? So be it. An audience of two was better than an audience of just you.

Marvelous, although you always were more of a blue hue,
Zosimos flicked the brim of the hat, then reeled at the sudden scent of
KITTENS!
Turning on his heel, Zosimos flung himself to the ground to be among the cats. He loved cats.

Why?
He responded from the floor, shedding his purple trench coat. From there, it was propped, and made into a sort of kitty-tent.
Why not? If you could be two places at once, would you?
It was awfully clever, a stunt double so to speak. Zosimos wished he thought of it first. He had to hand it to his kin.

"Blue Smoo, what really gave me away?" The pouting Casren lifts his arms over his head and throws them down. It's skin suddenly bubbles and the form shifts to reveal Ix. He can't stay upset for long at the scene in front of him. He also pulls out a a lazer pointer from his body and shines it for the kittens. "So, what are you two doing here?"

It was good to see another lover of the feline race amongst his fellow undead, but that was not why the Lich was here. No, he was here for far more...delicate reasons. He had not yet introduced himself to the Detente, though he'd been watching them since his arrival to Verinotte, in secret, thanks to handy-dandy divination.

Scooping up the white fluffy bundle known as Nerull, he let it perch inside the exposed, left side of his rib cage. It mewed. Cutely. And pawed at his bones. It almost tickled. "I do not believe either of us have ever met. And I thought, maybe, we should." Bangal himself decided to take a seat upon a floating, ethereal disk, his old bones creaking with protest. "I believe I have stated this one's reason for appearing. Is it suitable?"

It's Waffle Day where I am from,
Zosimos cood as he stroked a kitten.

Looking up, he was surprised to see Casren was back to looking like Ix. The lich was seated, and kittens pawed around. Some played in the coat, to Zosimos's delight. One even paddled up to Ix, from the coat, curious about the transformation.

Oh how he loved kittens and cats.

Zosimos, di Sangue di Bistreo, Sambuca,
The words were lain thick in the air, powerfully Grecian despite the true origins of the words.

"It is a pleasure, I am sure." He did something, because suddenly, the felines stopped mewling ans scampered over to his side, clambering up and down his robes and bones. "I wish I could stay. However, an old ones time is always at a guess, and these little ones need to return to their mothers. They are hungry things..." The shadows enveloped him, and Bangal vanished. Not giving his name. Not giving a location, or means of contact. In truth, the senile old sorcerer had forgotten...

The red carped extended from the base of the stairs all the way out to the fountain in Verinotte Square. Paparazzi were already lurking on the stairs, smoking cigarettes and adjusting their lenses. Forces Vankoryth filed in and out of the vestibule, setting up everything and decorating.

In the entry hall, a large sign pointed in to Alfarsi Gallery, the main ballroom. It was where the music and dancing were, the main festivities, the alcohol. Out here, a table was being set up on a far wall. This would be where the grand buffet existed. A soldier roped off a staircase leading up to the clock tower. It wasn't guarded, however.

The Ball of Chaos was going to be a smashing success! Lights were being strung, green tinted decor placed everywhere. Balloons and streamers clung to the ceiling, green and black to depict chaos.

Timo had spent the night in Verinotte Hollow as per request, and she'd been awakened by a host of gay vampires (no literally, they were quite fabulous) and sent through the wash and treatment to get her red-carpet ready. And only once did she entertain the fantasy of snatching up one of them- and to that they replied. “Oh honey, you could, but you'd ruin your figure for your dress.”

And that was argument enough.
She wished she could keep her squadron of gaypires, but alas, it was not meant to be. “Best dressed or dead!” they cried after her as she entered the limo for the short ride from the outskirts of town to the manor.

She stepped out, and it was apparent that her theme for the day was 'I'm THE fuckin' vamp-killer and you best pay attention to me.' She was dressed in an ombre lavender to black gown, with ample puff and her makeup was severe yet sexy; scarlet lip, and strong liner; in contrast, her hair was pulled up in a relatively simple updo. All the va-voom came from her body.
She wasn't used to the camera flashes as she stepped out in her black peep-toe heels and she blinked a few times before regaining her composure and making her way into the hall itself, looking for a familiar face.

It still felt so weird not having somebody's arm to hold onto, but she could deal with it. She'd make her own fun when the festivities wound down. Push her boundaries a little- make some rude fellow /disappear'.
She spotted Daemala first and beelined towards her, the fabric of the gown swishing flawlessly behind her. “Ah, what do you think, sweet? Too much? I thought about going with a black gown but that's so expected...”

It was obvious, the cameras loved Timo. The photographers couldn't get enough, following Timo as excessively as they had followed Daemala earlier, upon her arrival.

Daemala had her fun with the cameras, and waited now in the main vestibule/atrium of Verinotte Hall. She had arrived in a hover limo, stretch of course, alone. As she poked a deep amethyst satin stiletto out of the car, the flashbulbs went wild. Ascending, Daemala let her long, puffy, shiny, deep amethyst gown cascade towards the floor. As the curtain closed over her feet, she posed, extending an arm skyward and jutting out hip. After sashe-ing up the carpet, she posed amply as one of the first guests besides Zosimos before waving to the crowd and withdrawing inside.

There she was, idling with a glass of deep red wine in hand when Timo approached. Daemala turned, face falling into an open mouthed smile at the sight of Timo's gown. It was fabulous, there was no other word for it. High fashion, flowing, she ate it greedily with her eyes.

"Too much?" A hand flew to her forehead in mock horror, before falling palm out towards Timo.
"Darling, it was as if the dress was sewn for you! And observe, we even mildly match," Like a shark, Daemala circled Timo, careful to hold the wine away from the gown. "I must know the designer," Her eyes twinkled, "Would you care for something to drink?"

“I'll take a glass of champagne if you have it,” Timo purred. The circling set a little something on edge inside of her, but she reponded in kind with an aura spike, the room growing colder for just a moment. If Daemala had vampire arm-candy nearby, they would certainly feel it it. Timo liked but also despised being toyed with, even if it was innocent. “(The Terran equivalent of) Givenchy,” she answered.

“I must not have gotten the memo to be fashionably late,” she mused to herself as a waiter came with a plate of champagne flutes, of which she took one. “Mmmm, while there's time, why not give me a tour, m'dear? I've never stepped foot in the manor....just the tavern. Obviously it's a fool's game for a dhampir to take residence in a vampire-town.”

Dakida walked into the hall wearing...of all things....a Tuxedo for once. His hair pulled back into a a low, yet short pony tail. He didn't have his flasks on him either. His red eyes looking around at the others. The tux was...well...reverse colored than the typical tux, white with black instead of black with white.

Timo watched the newcomers over her champagne flute, noting the unease of Ronnie in general. She was relieved to know that she wasn't the only non-vamp at this shindig so far. Now she at least looked less like the fox in the henhouse. She was sure people were lingering, curious to see when and if she screwed up.

Ronnie looked around for other people and spotted someone looking at him. Walking over to her and giving a gentle smile."Hello, I'm Ronnie." He said simply."Its a pleasure to meet you." He was trying to get away from saying the thy's and thou's that he was used to. Trying to adopt into the new world a little bit. Making polite intro conversation.

Dakida on the other hand walked over to the one serving drinks and raised an eyebrow."May I get a glass of champagne please?" Trying to be on his best, non-crazy behavior here. He didn't wanna be here to cause problems. Hell....maybe he'd even dance with someone, this is a ball after all, there needs to be dancing!

Daemala snapped, a waiter in formal attire materializing from the shadows with a tray of classy champagne flutes. She plucked one off, raised it a bit, then took a sip. The aura had been felt and noted, and Daemala didn't mind a bit. The woman had her boundaries set, something to respect.

"Of course, love," Daemala held out an elbow for Timo to take, casually waving at Dakida as she strolled across the main entry of Verinotte Hall. The waiter had moved on to Dakida, offering him some spirits. "Here in Verinotte Hall is where most societal functions take place." She sidled towards the door, which was propped open for the evening. The lights of flashbulbs outside flickered the entryway. Many people were still arriving, coming up the red carpet and the grand marble stairs of Verinotte Hall. Some were hanging by the fountain, Daemala observed from here.

"The Square is the heart, much as my Tavern is the lifeblood," She grinned at the pun.

Brennan was lost, not in the sense that he was unaware of his location but he wasn't quite sure why he found himself inside said location. The indulgences outside should have been warning enough, yet still he had entered the hall. Perhaps, he mused, one could only stave off the basic longings for companionship and merriment for so long before they found themselves out of water and all but drowning amongst a sea of strangers.

However, it would be rude, even by his less than stellar standards, to vacate the area so hastily. With that in mind, Brennan tugged at the collar on his barely formal shirt and began to make his way towards the promised open bar. If he were going to tolerate the presence of a plethora of phantasms and their ilk, it would be with a glass in hand.

Susan Quilleria flapped her way in the dark, well and truly lost. "Oh god, I can't even see the city! Where am I?! God i should have started heading home earlier, now I'm out in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of night. I'll probably get attacked by slimes or ghouls or vampires or bears or tigers!" Shudders at the thought of thousands upon thousands of nightmarish creatures tearing her apart piece. She shakes the images from her head, and in doing so spots a faint light coming from below. "Oh thank god! People!" She says, diving towards the light at high speed.
She's about fifty feet from it when she realizes the big black spot in front of her is actually a solid, and by the time she finishes that thought, she crashes horns first into it, breaking through the roof of the hall and crashing into the floor in a daze.
