Setting
Verinotte Square bustles primarily at night as the focal point of Verinotte Hollow, despite the fact that here it is perpetually either dusk or dark. A large fountain with dragons crawling all over it takes over most of the square. At any point in the day, citizens of Verinotte Hollow can be found flipping coins into the fountain, or resting on it. Every now and again, one might catch a Gae Ceann biker or a Forces Vankoryth patrol crossing the square.
Funded by the Dracul's and maintained by the Vankoryth Detente, Verinotte Hollow is a safe haven for vampires & other creatures of night who wish to exist civilized without Human pressures. Tauvyr Tavern is to the South. Verinotte Hall towers over the northwest part of the square, with wrap-around staircase leading up to it. The Mint and Sage, Verinotte Hollow's premiere bed and breakfast, is also accessible from here.
Off a ways to the north, but still in viewing distance, is a large shrine. It has one spire that seems to stretch forever into the dark clouds. There are also many jack-o-lanterns that line the paths, a whimsical carry-over from the favored holiday of the town. Winne Rineswurth hopped into a sleek vehicle and head towards Wing City, tapping furiously away on a small keyboard. News was breaking, and she was honored to be assigned. As much as Winne loved Terra it would be good to spend some time off-planet.

Unbeknownst to Ulrich Paternosta (at least, to Lewis's knowledge) Stockton had stood against the wall, following the vampire behind by about 8 yards. He's unsure if the vampire can detect him, due to the heavily magical nature of his obscurement from direct observation, making any aspect of him not invisible, but more like it fades into a severely limited recognition, embedded in the unconscious.
For a moment, he's tempted to drive a knife into the vampire's spine, but instead decides to increase his pace and appear directly next to his supernatural elder, saying nothing as he walks perfectly in step with the man.
He's a strange sight, especially in Verinotte Hollow, and it was to be wondered how he entered. His heavily armored body was a strange sight, the layered protective plates giving off next to nothing as far as noise.
He looks around him, mildly impressed with his surroundings, before staring back through his masked eyes at the vampire.
For a moment, he's tempted to drive a knife into the vampire's spine, but instead decides to increase his pace and appear directly next to his supernatural elder, saying nothing as he walks perfectly in step with the man.

"Yeh got nerve, kid," Ulrich turned his face to Stockton, his head at an unnatural angle from his body. His wide smile showed teeth that were sharper than they should have been. Ulrich flicked a glance up and down the armor of the self proclaimed (and hella judgmental) hunter.
Ulrich was old. He was beginning to think he was too old for this shit, but thus far nobody had stepped up to the plate with the right qualifications to manage shit. He wasn't sure there was anyone that could manage being under Daemala Tauvyr, especially now that she was apparently a Queen. Ulrich couldn't make that make sense.
Anyway, he had bigger problems than worrying about the ego trip of a self contained narcissist. Namely some guy that somehow circumvented all of Verinotte Hollow security to come here and lay down threats as if they were the law. Also there was that matter of Feastus- Ulrich suspected all of this was somehow connected. Shit always was.
"Yeh got nerve 'n spunk 'n all th'shit tha makes livin' worth livin'," Ulrich continued, dropping the smile, "Wha' yeh seem't'b'lackin' is focus."

"I ain't gon' kill yeh, n' don't recommend yeh try any'o'dat fancy shit on my ass eith'r. Ionno whaet brung yer ass here, but if yeh gotcha bone to pick witta Vankoryth Detente, well. We ain't the kind t'b'leavin' bones about fer the pickin'," Ulrich continued, then paused and looked hard at Stockton.
"Yeh ain't from Wing Cirty, are yeh?"

The expressionless mask stares back at Ulrich, a monotone, expressionless voice emitting from the armored figure. "It's rather simple. I make promises, I keep them. I administer tests. I am the Judge."
He reaches into a fold of his suit and pulls out a timer, choosing to ignore the question.
"Do you understand the principle of Darwin? For the continuation of your kind," he spits out the words with mild derision before continuing, "I've decided to play the part of nature. You have no predators, and the weak are allowed to persist, still too powerful to be called down on by mortals. I understand what my actions mean. I understand what actions they necessitate. You, well, that remains to be seen. Call on that 'ancient wisdom,' or whatever."
"You seem prepared, I'll cut down your time. You have six hours. Be ready."
He steps back a few strides before reaching into his vest, pulling out a small scroll, which he breaks the seal of. He looks down at it for a moment before glancing back up at Ulrich. "And I'm very focused."
He rips the scroll in half, and then suddenly disappears with a thud, the only thing left being boot prints and the scraps of
paper.

Ulrich threw up his arms in exasperation and growled, storming back off towards Tauvyr Tavern. It had been a while since someone with this type of gall had made their way into his life and onto his nerves. As of late, that was Daemala's job. Well, she was about to be informed of her demotion.
There was a soiree starting that he was expected to be present at and fully planned on interrupting. The Vankoryth Detente seemed to have a bit of a problem on their hands. It was only right their leader should know of it.
