"She's beautiful when she's flying through the sky, and terrifying when she's swinging at ya." He smiles softly, like a young man in love.

"Sounds like somethin' that takes an awful lot o' bits." Rei pointed out knowing first hand how expensive it could be to run one's own ship. "And somethin' that's got your full attention. Now what was this cackle you wanted to have about?"

Ean Falcor scratches at his head as he continues walking along the road. "Ah, there's not much to it really. As I said, I'm making my way off world here in a while, going to be heading off looking for work. Been sitting too long. The Aschen been generous enough to give us full repairs without charge, so I'd like to think our first stop will be a nice one for a short rest in a dry bed."

"Well that's what every Tom, Dick, and Harry wants after a fat lady's job isn't it?" Rei commented. She suspected he was propositioning something, but given the surveilance state nature of Langara and Caprica City, things had to be worded just right. "About this ship... you got yourself a crew?" She asked off-hand.

"Aye, And a good one. Most of them are a bit tussled up after our last job, and some of 'em won't be needing their paychecks. A damn shame too, My best pilot's gone"

"He had some light fingers he did, and didn't seem to matter how tight the space, he could always fit through. Yeah, he was a damn good pilot."

Rei's interest was piqued with this, "What's the mark like? Any bits or bytes missing?" She questioned. Any captain in need of a pilot and this desperate was almost a golden ticket off Langara, and legally too. Going through customs and immigration on the way in had been easy, going out was the hard bit she hadn't yet figured out. But here was Captain Falcor and a very probable way to get to elsewhere.

Rubs at the back of his neck and seems to ponder how to phrase this. "Well, thing is the poor bastard had family ya know, but they don't know he's gone. I wanna get them sorted out so they don't have to worry about it. Course that's a full trip out to Ruula, and folks from there real suspicious, so it's hard to get in to see them. Break in the news, ya know?"

Ean Falcor jerks his chin at you. "How are you with people? You get along well, people welcome you like a native eh?"

Rei shrugged non-chalantly, "I manage, last ship had a bug for a navi. Got along fine with them." She wouldn't call herself a people person, but also wouldn't not call herself one either. You didn't get buy in the business without some amount of charisma, and when that failed being a damned good shot. "Can't say I've been out that way. Might be worth the stasis even."

At the mention of Stasis Ean only smirked. "Hah, No need for the ice box darlin. A bit of ingenuity goes a long way, my ship's got a fancy doodah I came up with myself. Wraps the whole thing up nice and snug in a sort of shield made from a gravitational field. Once the whole ships encased, she can be accelerated well beyond the speed of light, exponentially. This allows us to travel between two points in space, regardless of distance, in a matter of hours.

Ean Falcor shrugs after his explanation. "course, it has a few draw backs. can't go somewhere if somethings in the way, and gravitational fields can throw us off course, but on the plus side, we can't be prevented from getting somewhere by anything annoying, ya know."

Thinking for a moment, Rei could swear that she almost had a rough idea of how what he described worked, but as soon as the idea appeared it was gone. Vanishing back into the aether of scrambled thoughts and inability to remember what she had had for breakfast, muchless dinner. It seemed like things lately were a perfect storm of weird and unexplained situations, first the running fight out on the rim, then Sky's Edge and now Langara. The sooner she could geta way from Aschen territory the better in her opinion.

"Sounds interesting, I admit..." Rei hesitated. A job was a job, and this one wouldn't require the risk of reefer sickness. Rei just wasn't sure she was willing to tolerate another day of anemic sunshine in exchange for the dark brillance of space if this one fell through. She couldn't say that she'd ever been with a crew other than the small one her ship had used, a navigator and first mate, and a few occasional hangers on. Ghost Dance had or maybe still was largely automated. "I'd be gudgeon to say otherwise.." She added crossing her arms and thinking. It would be an unfamiliar ship, but she could generally pilot anything she'd been put in the seat of.

Sighing, she shook the doubts aside and made her choice. "Look at me here without a ship and you without a pilot. It's a right sweet deal Captian."

"Aye that it is." He responds with a tip of his hat, "And a well timed one at that. So what say you to us skipping over to the port and slipping the moorings?"

He says this with a smirk while taking his care to meander back to Victory square, looking ahead to make sure the coast is clear. Unfortunately the only way back to port is down and out, but if they keep to themselves, the two of them should be fine. Or at least that's Ean's thinking.

"Now a couple things to bear in mind, she's not a frigate, our girl. She's hefty, made for carrying cargo and crew, and has the guns to keep both safe. I'm assuming you've flown such large craft before?"

"You would assume correctly, Captain." Rei confirmed. The smaller ships were fast, but held little room for anything except a small crew compliment if you were even that lucky. The larger ships were much more suited to certain endeavors than other smaller ships. For the most part she had always struck out on her own, preferring to keep to herself, but after the last incident she was beginning to think that running with a larger crew was safer. Especially given that there actually could be something to the theory of safety in numbers.

"My last ship, before it was damaged out in the Rim and then taken around Sky's Edge was roughly 4km along its hull from bow to stern. Dark drives, inertial suppression, and an alpha level sim A.I." She added regretfully. The ship had truly been one of the last of it's kind, and knowing her rotten luck wasn't likely to be seen ever again.

Ean chuckles at her description of her ship. "Well, damn, here I am all proud of my ship, and you were flying something quite a bit bigger than my bird. The Cobalt Glaive's only somewhere around three hundred meters. She's well built though, tough enough to tackle anything she needs to, and equipped for it besides."

He shrugs then. "Well, you'll see her soon enough. C'mon this way, I know a shortcut" He says, nodding at an alley and slipping into it.

(Finish to this post will be at the space port)
