The Multiverse

Setting

Wing City's business sector located in Eastern Wing City, despite suffering a terrorist attack the area is still business as usual.

Traffic is still a problem during business hours, but the paving of new lanes of traffic and the progress of construction on damaged buildings has made it much easier to travel through the area.

The area is still home to many businesses, banks, and various cafes and coffeehouses to serve the businessman on the go.

Past business hours the makeup of the business district becomes more shady, biker gangs of all kinds using the quiet area to ride around and sometimes harass people enjoying the late-night scene.

Reflek-She assessed again the many potential threats in the area, noting new ones not far away from their location. Fighting could easily spread, and if it did, her motives were in jeopardy. In an instant, though ready to fight the ascended beings, she expanded her form into a large mass of flesh that would leap into the air, coming down as though a blanket over Kinoko and Hana, who both were caught off guard, absorbed into the flesh mass.

"Come, my Acolytes, for we must return and plan. Staying in the area only means your deaths."

The flesh mass again floated into the air, formless, as it quivered. The staff on the nearby rooftop melted into a fleshy form and reconnected to the mass before the mass shrunk to nothing, disappearing entirely along with Kinoko and Hana.

Ayanna, Drek, and Ekfricai all stood stock still as Emily vanished without a trace. The Three of them looked among each other, and Ayanna gestured to Molnish, who released the magic and fell to his feet on the ground. As he did so the ascended Warriors reverted to their original forms. Ayanna stood with her sword over her shoulder looking after Emily and her two "acoyltes". Drek rubbed his shoulders and worked his neck, and Ekfricai stood with his hands on his hips. "Well... that was rather uneventful. I had thought we were about to engage in a most glorious battle." The monk said, with only the barest hint of disappointment in his tone.

At around that moment a pair of archers came sliding down the craters edge, and sprinted towards Ayanna. They spoke frantically in the language of their kind, so much so that Ayanna had to command them to stop and speak calmly. Not moments after she had finally gotten their report another pair of archers had come from another direction, and then another group from yet another direction. She received all their reports while Drek, Ekfricai, and Molnish waited patiently. After listening to them all, she shared the news with her team.
"Some sort of dark mage over towards the north, summoning creatures of shadow. Our forces are doing what they can but they're underequipped for that sort of situation. Molnish you'll have to take a team of sorcerers and deal with that. Ekfricai, significant resistance has been encountered over at Sol Avenue. The entire Battalion sent that way was decimated in an ambush, the enemy has airsupport. Some Fighters will be retasked, but for now take the warriors who have regenerated and clear that way. Drek, more forces have been detected in the sewer systems beneath the city. Start flushing it out, I want this area secured from above and below as well as on ground."
Each of the three affirmed their orders and headed out to fulfill them. Ayanna herself continued to gaze after Emily for awhile, but she was interupted by a smaller woman in an engineers outfit. A pair of heavy looking gauntlets made her hands look far larger than they were, and the woman was followed by several others similiar to her in uniform and style.
"Egryn Abr Fyrn, at your command, sir. We were sent ahead to prepare for the impact." The Womans voice was light and musical, like sounds played on a flute. "Tell us what you need and we'll get it ready.
Ayanna nodded to them. "Anti aircraft to start, then anti armor. I want to start fortifying this location as quickly as possible. But the Impact won't be happening here. This location is far to obvious and comprimised besides. The Impact coordinates have been changed to the Plaza, so as soon as you get done here you'll be getting on a Canoe and getting over there."
"In service to the Solskain" The smallish woman saluted Ayanna.
"In service to the lord" Ayanna saluted her back, sending the woman and her team on their way. Not too long after they were sent to do their task, the legion warriors in the crater began climbing out, and the Egrynar used their power to reforge the earth and undo the damage that it had taken, until the crater was no more. Once this was done, the Obelisk and Spires were moved closer together, and among them four structures began to take form, as the Egrynar created, forged, and molded the starsteel to produce Anti-Air Defenses for the location. They then set about repeating this process to create Anti-Amour defenses, designed to destroy all but the heaviest armored tanks.

As Ayanna watched this work continue, Molnish gathered together four other Sorcerers and took them North to combat the shadow beasts.

Ekfricai gathered those soldiers who had regenerated at the Obelisks, listened to quick reports from them about the enemy he would face, and proceeded to lead them back to Sol Avenue.

Drek gathered fourteen Oryan Abr Sundavar who had been deployed for this specific purpose, and took them into the sewers from local Manholes. They would then proceed to follow the route to Eastern Wing city, to pick up the Trail of the Invictus found therein.

--

The Echo of Peace continued to descend, coming ever closer to crashing in Wing City. As the Enemy ships entered it's airspace, the Pillars surrounding the Rook unlocked and unleashed a swarm of thousands upon thousands of drones, which would begin assaulting the enemy capital ships. Even more ships were launched from the Echo of Peace, Knights refitted for bombing runs on capital ships as well as Canoes for Troop transport and Wolf Axe fighters to take down the rest of the Invictus. The Canoes immediately began a rapid descent for the business district, to pick up and transport troops to various other areas of the city.

--

The four Warriors sent after Claire Wilder and her cameraman would at about that time come out upon the rooftop of the building. Upon spotting her they would immediatly begin an approach, forming in position to cut off her escape. "You shouldn't be up here, it's not safe! Now come with us!

It was at this time that Lucifer landed, setting down between Claire, her cameraman and the soldiers. "I will be taking these people to safety." he declared, staff at his side in a nonthreatening but still ready posture should he need to defend himself or Claire. Sure these soldiers had been evacuating civilians, but it was in the middle of their own invasion, he'd seen this before, and it had ended in internment camps, the machine had no reason to believe this would be any different.

"Please stay behind me Miss and Sir, I will get you both out of this." he said without turning to face them.

Claire was blinking ultimately confused as two imposing groups stood before them, Steven meanwhile was trembling as he stared at them both, "Claire if I die because you... there is something---" glaring she spoke up, "Hush, we'll be fine. We got a scoop here." immediately she turned to both, "I am Claire Wilder of Terracast and if either of you would have a comment to make please do so. What is the reason for all this? Can Wing City expect far worse or do you intend---" at this point, grabbed her and pulled her over to him, "Claire, NOT NOW... I WANT TO LIVE..." she seemed utterly nonplussed something seemed to stir in her before she immediately realize, "Steven we need to go." her camera man facepalmed and stared at her with frustration, "That is what... Forget it, follow the robot..." she nodded and approached the life form, "We appreciate your efforts, perhaps after all this you can give us an interview for efforts you played in helping the city." she asked.

"Activate gravity wells." Captain Mishima ordered, the Invictus fleet firing off what appeared to be bright burning orbs at the approaching ships. Before they could reach the ships they exploded, but the explosion was not fire or anything else. The explosions created artificial singularities, the strong pull of the gravity around them keeping the enemy ships from getting close lest they lose control of their flight.

"Captain, we got word from The Palace, change of plans. Our ground teams say it's too dangerous, we have to pull back." One of the bridge crew of Mishima's ship told him.

"What? Why? Fuck, okay. All ships in the fleet, pull out. We're going back to home." Captain Mishima said, reluctant to leave what was possibly the battle for the planet. Not that it would be the last. It was never the last.

The Invictus ships began to adjust their thrusts to send them back into the portals, the smaller fighter ships firing at the enemy ships to provide some sort of cover for the bigger ones. More life would be lost if those ships were shot down with so many Invictus personnel aboard.

On the ground, The Ripper prepared to dive into the fray. But like her comrades in the sky she was given orders to retreat, "Ripper, we're grabbing Sonia and pulling out. Head to the office." A voice said to The Ripper through her earpiece.

She let out a frustrated groan, but orders were orders. The armored woman hopped out of the crater and began a sprint towards an alleyway. She wasn't looking to stay exposed while she retreated. That's how you got shot in the back.

Flying past the retreating Invictus, Kinoko and Hana would look at each other. "Hey, Hana, check it out! Those ships are crazy!" Hana wore a serious look. "They're also running. If those guys get all big and scary again, we're toast!" Kinoko smiled, confident. "No, we won't be toast. Remember? There's someone in the area that will help us, or so Ms. Kattelya said. I bet its that robot from before. I hope it's okay. It was strong, and I definitely want to fight it someday." Hana sighed. "Always fighting, why can't we do something fun, like shopping?"

The pair sped up their approach as they weaved around retreating Invictus ships and personnel. "Hana, let's mix our attacks up okay? Ms. Kattelya chewed us out, and we can't forget that. We'll make her proud! I won't have less!" Hana giggled. "Sounds good to me! I'm ready to go!" It was around this time that Kinoko looked up, seeing the Echo of Peace. "The hell is that?" Hana, following Kinoko's gaze, also reacted. "That's a big ship, and it's coming to crash into the city! We'll need to watch ourselves while we fight!"

Kinoko gritted her teeth. "Hana, let's fly low to avoid the fire from the ships, we can possibly sight the soldiers, or that stupid commander girl. I'll be sure to take her head personally for harming you!" Hana smirked. "Roger roger!" The two would fly down beneath the ships before sighting the soldiers and making their landing. Both assumed an immediate ready stance as Kinoko's hair drifted up with power, changing to a golden color as she assumed her Super form once again. "Short time no see, but we couldn't stay away!"

The two of them had brand new armor that bore a logo upon the right chest similar to the one Emily had. It comprised of a black form fitting jumpsuit, a durable chest piece of a blood red color, and a single purple colored shoulder guard for the left shoulder that matched the purple of their Miso Force logo. The gloves and boots were a solid white, and though basic in appearance, seemed to be made of similar material to the armor. The Miso Force logo fully covered the black abdominal portion of the armor as well. They also seemed completely healed. Their red devices covering their left eye began reading information on everyone before them, a collectively challenging threat. Hana seemed ready. "We'll munch you up and stuff! Just you wait and see! And this time, I won't leave without a full bag of candy!"

Kinoko and Hana would focus themselves as debris began rising around them from the latent power. Kinoko grinned. "So, send your soldiers or yourselves first. Either is fine by us, since all of you will be taking a trip to the next dimension regardless!"

The Warriors readied themselves for defense, forming a battle line around the Egryan as they continued working on the structures they were building. Several Fyrnskain stepped forward, and Paladins flew about in the air. They stood staring at the two new comers as Ayanna stepped forward in front of her soldiers. "Return to your task, these two are mine." She said to her kin, the musical notes both foreign and unpronounceable by those not of her people.

She waited and watched as Kinoko and Hana powered themselves up, before planting her sword tip first into the ground. "I will make this warning only once. Leave now while you can. Far too much has come to be at stake, and I can no longer face you with anything less than everything I have. To do so would be disloyal to my Konugr, to my Solskain, and I will not be seen as a failure by them." She said, her face open and her eyes clear. "You have no loyalty to this place, and no reason to stand against us. But if you insist on doing so then you shall be swept away like brush in the maelstrom."

--

Meanwhile, as the Invictus fleets retreated, the Drones and fighters and bomber craft were recalled from fighting them, and began ascending back into higher orbit to reinforce the warrior presence there. The Echo of Peace continued to fall from the sky, and would impact in no less than thirty minutes.

--

DrekThaleen and the Oryans he took had finished rigging the Sewer system with traps and explosives in the area of the Business district, to dissuade sneak attacks, and begun traveling through the system towards the wing city police department, where their orders had sent them next.

--

The soldiers atop the building seemed unmoved by the machines actions, but they did not interfere. What mattered to them wasn't apprehending the civilians, only that they were moved out of the area. "If you are going to leave, then do so quickly, as there is not much time left until the Impact, and when it occurs it is unlikely that any civilians who remain in the area will survive."

Kinoko got very angry. "Listen to yourself, lady! You say we have no loyalty to this place? We live here! Like it or not, this planet is our home, and we don't appreciate filth like you coming in and trashing the place for your own ends!"

She spread her arms as a rush of power flowed away from her, followed by the same blistering speed from before. Utilizing her enhanced speed in her extremely rapid movement, she would appear to vanish, only to appear in front of Ayanna with a fist raised, aiming to deliver the hardest punch she could.

Hana also spread her arms as Kinoko did, her own rapid movement taking effect. Though not as fast or strong as Kinoko, she nonetheless would try to flank Ayanna and attack with punches from behind, using her stretching and bending limbs to try and anticipate where Ayanna would dodge to.

The two attacked in unison, and seemed to have not only improved their appearance, but also their coordination.

Ayanna only smiled at the two fighters as a pair of magic circles lit up, one directly in front of her, one a foot or more behind. The traps would have become active the moment the two fighters moved into them, catching Kinoko first as she was faster. Hana, being slower, would be caught by the one behind Ayanna. The traps would seal them both in an arcane force field that prevented them from moving much more than a centimeter in any direction.

Ayanna then stepped back and smirked at them, pulling her blade from the dirt to throw over her shoulder. "To be honest with you, I'm glad you came back. I wasn't happy with how you all took off without even letting me try my ascended form out on you, but at least this way, I get to have some fun while I wait for the impact."

Ayanna then struck her blade into the ground, another magic circle lighting up around her as she howled, though whether it was in rage or pain was unclear. Arcing energy slammed into her body as the enhancement magic took hold of her, making her faster, stronger, greater. With a thunderclap the spell was over, and Ayanna stood before Kinoko and Hana, who would have been freed from the magic trap by the shockwave the enhancement magic released.

Her skin, which had had a purplish tinge to it before, was now a deep and dark red. Sharp spines and spike protuded from various parts of her arms, shoulders, and legs. Two long curling spikes raised from her shoulder blades and curled up over her collar bone. Two pairs of horns curved out from her temples and cheekbones. Every sharp edge was tipped in a blue so dark as to be black, and her eyes shone like pale moons from her eyes. Her canine teeth had grown long and curved out of her mouth in such a way as to make it inconceivable of closing. Her fingers ended in long talons of the same dark blue that tipped the new spikes of her body.

She grasped her blade from it's mooring in the earth, and pulled it free with a crack. In that same motion she leapt forward with incredible speed to strike the pommel of her blade into Kinoko's forehead, and the palm of her hand into Hana's nose.

Regardless of her opponents reaction, she spoke to them and said "This should make things a bit more interesting for us both. Alone, this form would be more than suffecient to take one of you out. This way I can entertain you both together without anyone getting left out."

Kinoko spit at the floor and raised an arm to block the pommel, the force of the impact bounding outward with incredible intensity, enough to possibly knock over the soldiers in the area. Kinoko smugly smiled as she listened to Ayanna, still blocking the pommel with no visible sign of struggle. "This form can take one of us out alone? You have some good jokes for being a piece of invading scum!"

Hana was pushed back some by the palm to the nose, but after rubbing it off, she expelled steam from her body as she got angry. "No fair! Hana is gonna make you pay!" Hana raised her hands above her head and began charging a sphere of energy between them as she flew high into the sky above the city. "Kee hee hee! Kee hee hee hee! This time, the Missing Marble will be your end!"

Kinoko gritted her teeth before yelling a long and drawn out kiai as she attempted to overpower the woman's strength, a feat done by pulling Ayanna's pommel hand forward towards Kinoko herself, potentially pulling Ayanna into a spot where Kinoko could drive her knee hard and deep into the woman's stomach.

Kinoko's knee to the stomach got a solid gasp of air from Ayanna, but she then responded by kicking her legs out and spinning, bringing her sword around in a full slash towards the Saiyans head, in an attempt to cut her in two.

Ayanna's response to Hana, after her attack upon Kinoko, was to make a quick hand gesture before a massive bolt of red lightning exploded from her open hand towards the Majin, where it would attempt to wrap around her. if successful in this, Ayanna would use it to pull the Creature back towards her.

Lucifer nodded slowly as the warriors gave their warning before turning to Claire and her camera man. "Hold onto me, I will get you to safety, this building may not be standing much longer." he said, putting his weapon onto his back where it seemed to magnetize to him without any sort of visible coupling to hold it in place. He then reached out for Claire and Steven, waiting for them to grab hold so he could ferry them to a safer distance.

Claire immediately did so, being she was reckless. Steven on the otherhand seemed uneasy, before he immediately started quickly dismantling camera and stuffed it into his bag. It was fairly meticulous but fast. As he finished he said, "Okay, fine, at least now I know this camera won't be damaged." Claire gave him a withering look before replying, "The camera would have been fine, I made a mistake about coming up here, just be glad we are going to live..." her camera man merely said nothing.

As a brilliant and blinding light flashed from high above in Terra's orbit, a sense of peace and joy radiated over all in the area.

As that light touched the legion warrior forces, they would dissolve into flurries of soft white feathers that radiated a glowing light.

Ayanna, when she was touched by this light, changed back to her normal state and looked up into the sky, shading her eyes with a hand that gradually dissolved like all the rest. She would then turn to Kinoko and Hana with a smirk.

"Well damn, just when it was getting fun... Heh, well I hope I meet you two again someday, only next time." She said to them, turning to face them even as she faded away. "Let's make it real fun. Cya then"

And with that she, and all the forces of the invasion were gone, the feathers fading away as the light from above did.

Lucifer picked up both humans with mechanical ease and lifted off from the roof of the building. "Please direct me to a safe place to set you down." he said, continuously scanning the environment below all the same, looking for other survivors or a stable place to let them down.

As the invading forces began to fade away however his flight slowed, and for a few moments he observed the ground below before descending to an open street that wasn't too heavily damaged from the attack to let Claire and Steven down. "Will this be a good place?" he asked.

Kinoko knocked herself backwards with how quickly she ducked the swing of the sword, and had only just bounced off the ground with a backflip to right herself before Ayanna began vanishing. "What? Leaving already?" She could say no more as Ayanna and the soldiers all vanished.

Hana was thrown off balance from the wrapping energy, and was pulled back to Ayanna's position with her Missing Marble in tow. The orb exploded when it hit the ground as Ayanna disappeared, defacing the street, but otherwise doing little else for a lack of charge. Hana stood up after she was freed as Ayanna and the soldiers disappeared.

"Wha? What happened? I'm so confused!"

Kinoko smirked. "Something must've happened to their central command. They were so organized; I betcha when the organizer was disposed of, they all began falling into disarray."

Hana tilted her head as she stood up again. "Hmmm. That seems complicated. Whatever, I'm sure she'll be back."

Kinoko nodded and went over to Hana. "Well, let her come!" Kinoko struck a pose that was filled with style and strength, even if it looked a bit goofy. "Because!"

Hana smiled wide and also struck a silly pose. "We are!"

They both then struck another pose in coordination with each other. "The Miso Force!" Kinoko then gave Hana a high five. "Let's head back to Ms. Kattelya. She's supposedly assembling a new church building somewhere, but until that is done, we're at that weird Monastery. Perhaps she'll be ready to train us."

Hana nodded. "Let's go!" The two quickly flew off, leaving the tattered part of the city behind.

The dilapidated remnants of the old Legion tower brought memories that stretched far back to his days of enlisting pawns here in Wing City. His time spent there had been minimal as he scoured the upper floors for the vestiges of time thoroughly passed. Fragments of his history spent here. Items that may have been proven useful if resurrected in usage. Alas, folly on his part as he found little, to nothing, of use. Picked dry and clean with times passage. Whilst the Reverie Tower he now set up base in had protocols in place to prevent pilfering, this one did not, and such proved shameful for there could have been tools that offered fruition in his coming labors. Instead, he secured a few documents and such that detailed his final attempts despite facing surmounting, adverse, opposition and tucked them away in a manila envelope he'd plucked from the dust. Numbers had been crunched and a vast list of names that could have been assets to his cause, if even peons and pawns. The finality of it all eventually took shape as he'd closed the doors and made his way from the building. Legion Tower, and his movement, remained a failure here in Wing City.

But what could anyone truly expect? In those days his methods were amateur at best...

It hadn't taken him long to relocate himself to the sprawling metropolis and the towering monoliths that dotted the Business District. Testaments to the pseudo-immortality this city happened to maintain. There lay no surprise in the concept that several blocks over, countless city blocks could be leveled whilst here they would remain untouched, statuesque and defiant. Perhaps there existed a charm in such a revelation, but to Kazura that only spoke of the volatile, unsteady, nature of it all. Here there happened to stand countless threats and obstacles to prevent his progress. There? Not so much. Not from what he'd witnessed thusfar.

Surprisingly enough, the ensemble he wore in public allowed him passage without a second glance. The sharp, debonair, suit and tie he wore with complementing, thinly framed, glasses and a ponytail spicing up his figure and casting an entirely different glint on the otherwise devilish tyrant. The added relics he wore only accentuated his attire, furthering him from an appearance that would likely bring attention to himself. He waded through the droves of individuals with little resistance and friction, eyes set on the prize, or so he considered it. Within the documents he'd managed to grab, there appeared several different account numbers, all tied together in some fashion. His intentions were rather simple; remove the funds from each account and place them on a rather small trinket that lay in his inner breast pocket. Call it a temporary, mobile, storage bank of sorts. There would be little feasibility in trying to transfer them from one realm to the next. This had been the prime solution to an otherwise troubling conundrum.

As he rounded a nearby corner, eyes with inexhaustible flames within them fell upon a rather renown bank. One he would be sure not to have issues with. So far he'd managed to cross several city blocks, and then some, without being taken notice of as his well known, infamous, identity. That had been enough to satisfy him and put him at ease. Nothing would have soured him further than if he'd been picked out and a plethora of heroic forces bent on justice came to greet him. No. That would have likely damned the city itself. Instead, with a sigh of relief, if not a reluctant sigh, he carried on and found his way into the establishment. Whilst he had initially been greeted by agonizingly long lines, a teller managed to open up a window just upon arrival, giving him ample time to steal it from the multitude that began shifting from their already congested lines into his.

"Why, hello Sir! What services may I offer you today?" The man spoke with a chipper smile, a gleeful expression that Kazura almost immediately drew ire in seeing. Old habits did die hard, and this situation there lay no exception. Flashes of the mans head continuously hammered against the precious stone surface of that counter flickered in his head. Such a revelation had proven true. He found far too much merriment in taking the lives of others. "I'm here to withdraw all funds associated with these accounts here in this list. Not in currency, mind you, but instead transferred to this device here." Kazura explained, first pulling the paper document containing the list of accounts out of his folder and then handing over the storage device that would now hold the vast wealth he found himself about to deplete from this bank. He had been prim, and proper, and no instances of character lapsing presented itself. He'd spent long enough doing his best to imitate his other-realm counterpart and now appeared to be a critical first time experience. "I see, Sir. I may have to check into this with my supervisor as I've never, personally, completed a transaction of this sort before. It'll take but a few moments. I appreciate your patience."

Filthy, pitiful, feeble, worm. Whilst he, himself, understood nothing of the mechanics behind such an exchange, he hardly suspected it would be all that complicated. Greed. Establishments of this sort always took offense to losing a vast collection of funds. He could already hear the rejection of his offer ringing about in his head. And that, that would bode unwell. There would be no guarantees that Kazura would be capable of holding his temper. Nay, he could already feel the tension mounting in his body. The desire to throw a tantrum and lay waste to the building and any and all who crossed him.

And yet, he maintained his serenity.

Soon enough the manager, and teller, both returned with gadget in hand, as well as the list of accounts, before handing them both over. Initially dumbfounded, Kazura's brow lifted but before he could offer an utterance, the manager spoke out ahead of him. "Pardon the wait, Sir. Our young teller here has been here for just over a year and a half, and in all of that time he's never encountered such a peculiar request. Fear not, though, because I've managed to accomplish what you sought. I assume you'll be closing all of these accounts then? I simply need your permission and I'll do so as we stand here." He explained. The burning sanguine that coursed through Kazura's veins seemed to cool, now, and he offered a sharp smile. "Indeed. That was the intention from the start. Pardon the complex nature of it all. I'm sure you've all seen more absurd requests, though." He casually retorted. Tucking the storage device back into his breast pocket, and the account information back into his folder, he prepared himself for his departure. "Alright, Sir. It's been taken care of. All accounts have been closed and funds transferred. A shame to see your business with us to go, but feel free to return at any time." The man finished. With a swift nod, Kazura turned on heel and made his way for the exit.

While he had the list of accounts, he hadn't taken the time to scour over the figures, to really determine how much wealth had remained. Though it wouldn't break him if there remained little, he did keep hope for a monolithic gain. From here on, the liquidation of any existing properties and valuables could be done via a terminal and plugging this little storage trinket into it. The funds would then transfer to it, rather than any accounts he'd had.

And rather promptly that's what he'd done. There lay no difficulty in finding buyers that had an eye for Legion Tower. In little more than an hour and a half, he'd sold the vast majority of what he'd had. Of course, it had all been under an alias, but that mattered little as the buyers ate every ounce of it up. Once again, the trinket found its way into his breast pocket and his documents into their folder. That would then find place in his other breast pocket, folded to fit.

Now there lay only aimless wandering, in truth. There'd be little more to do at this point other than return from whence he'd come from. No interest could really be found in visiting Gambit's, for he'd surely be recognized by some patron with an ability to see beyond the scope of feasible reality. And what, praytell, else could be there to offer? Perhaps relics and objects of power here existed as well as there. But could he really be pained to go through such troubles? He stood, now, at a crossroad.

And yet, with all that may have proven appealing, he found little left in staying in this forsaken fractured reality. Instead, a swift glance about once more, he chose, instead, to return from whence he'd arrived from. A few fingers neatly pushed aside hanging bangs from view and then promptly pushed at the bridge of his glasses to secure them tightly before he casually strode forward, vanishing in the wake of power that his planeswalker anklets gave him. Back to where he'd come from.

Ean walked through the business district surveying the area with a worried eye. It looked mostly fine, but there was evidence like a bomb or several had gone off in the area. He turned to Akio and asked "Jaysus what happened here? It looks like it's been used as a warzone."

Captain Ean Falcor was there, of course, to find a patron to hire his ship and himself out to. He had been hoping to find a decent well meaning business or individual that would not mind having a cheaper alternative to corporate controlled goods transport, but to be frank any job that was being offered would do. He was not picky, and his people needed the money.

Akio lowered his head, closed his eyes, and stopped in his tracks. He took a deep breath and appeared to concentrate...almost in a similar motion like that to meditation. If Ean listened very closely, he would detect a sense of vague whispering surrounding the two of them, gentle as the slight breeze.

And then the Wanderer's eyes snapped open, "A battle. A destructive battle between many powerful races and warriors and legions alike. Some for the sake of pride, others for the sake of dominion. But as violent and explosive as this battle was, it accomplished nothing. The loss was great, but the impact was minimal. And as such, the battle is a loss for everybody."

He had kept his gaze to the floor...eyes focused on the charred pavement that resided there. Now, his gaze flicked up, catching Ean's staring back at him. His smile returned, as easy as ever.

"I have voices in my head," Akio responded nonchalantly, "Voices that tell me information I seek, information about the past, present, or the future. Unless of course it impacts me directly. Then I am blind."

Ean smirked and said "Oh neat, my new first mate is an on site almanac." He chuckled at that, and continued along the road.

"Now, what were looking for is small businesses, companies that are just starting out and such often need a way of hiring people for various tasks. Jewelers will pay good credits for direct access to gems and minerals, cutting out the middle man and allowing them to undercut their competitors in a way they hadn't been able to before. That is what we provide, a full on work force capable of performing many tasks usually handled by corporations that charge through the nose." Ean Explained all this to Akio as they continued down the district lanes. "Now if we can't find that, we might also find work as mercenaries, though I'd much prefer avoiding that. It's the captains job to keep his crew safe, and that's hard to do when the job entails putting their lives on the line. But even so, if it comes to it, it's important to make sure prospective employers understand our capabilities."

"In total, The Cobalt Glaive has run almost seven dozen operations of a military bent, and we've been successful at each and every one of them. It's always good to mention that we're especially skilled and protecting assets and evacuating refugees, cuz most military groups charge more for that, and we can charge far less, which alot of people jump at the chance for."

"Now if I were to have my way, we'd get chartered as a colonizing ship and take a bunch of hopeful new worlders to a not yet colonized planet and help them set up everything they need to live a new life. It's generally an easy job, pays well, and more often than not the new colonists are so happy with us, they'll send us away with gifts a plenty."

Akio's lip curled up in contemplative thought. "I see," he said as he viewed the marketplace around him. "This is a job based upon opportunity. Opportunity for these small businesses turn into opportunities for ourselves."

Akio knew about opportunity. He had grown up around a cavalcade of individuals taking their opportunity and propelling themselves to bigger and better things. His family was included in that cast. But an important lesson he picked up along the way was that one's opportunity was another's misfortune. And sometimes, that was a good thing. But sometimes...

Sometimes fate found a way to balance the spectrum once again. And that would lead to many disaster-filled moments in his life.

"But these opportunities we are taking are hurting the 'middle man', so to speak," Akio pondered, "I would imagine that would make a lot of enemies for you to deal with. You challenge a lot of power. So how is it that you are successful on every mission?"

"Ahh, Our success is thanks to the one fail proof trump card that humanity has always had. No other race can take it from us, and it is often forgotten by those who think that having everything will ensure their own victory." Ean winked at Akio, although he failed to answer the question itself.

He continued to walk along the district way, talking to people he passed by, being cordial and friendly as he sought out work for him and his crew.

Jinhai slowly spread across Terra as the Way gate in wing city grew larger and more populated. Their quiet presence rapidly became a feature of the presence of imperial guard as they followed in suit. Myrkul's Vein could move parts that belong to psi-seeds easily but disconnected matter still impractical in volume. Their business here related in locating material transport that wasn't owned by a potential threat to the Emperor of Mankind. Many corporations here seen by Jinhai as heretics that do not serve the Emperor.

Amidst dusty footfalls of two faceless men in matte leather robes their awareness spread across the quivering pull within the dark that meant the presence of Umbralkind. All other concerns diminished their bodies torqued to change direction dust that made them literally bent to a new direction. Awareness resonating with the wandering murk they hummed into the dark as they approached the two men.

They stopped a few meters away one commenting to the other his eyes on Akio, "No concern at this time, Jinhai. It does not appear to be Umbralkind."

The other didn't turn but stared at Aklo then to Ean, "Agreed, Jinhai, the task locating transport is foremost. Zhou is used on the Wayfringe. We cannot yet build another."

They hadn't yet been taught the virtue of subtlety instead talking to each other openly for the benefit of humankind.

"Funny how quickly they rebuild." the man in black said to himself as he walked down the road in the midst of all the other people around him. Dressed in his black military overcoat, he blended in quite well with the other winter-wrapped peoples of Wing City as they passed through the district. However each person he touched while passing would slowly begin to become corrupt, spreading out from the point of contact. A black blotch on their skin would slowly spread out across their bodies until reaching their necks, stopping just below the collar line so it would be unnoticeable.

He even did it to many of the Guardsman, though to a lesser extent so that the corruption could spread without detection by hostile magics or eyes. When he activated the spell, the people who he had corrupted would turn on each other, and begin to terrorize the city. Draco himself would be no exception; and would be attacked as well to spread the realism. He wanted to test the local resistance that he frequently encountered. See how willing they were to shoot and kill their own civilians.

Stopping at a small outdoor cafe, he ordered himself a simple glass of water, the waiters and hostess would be the first ones to attack when he activated the spell due to his proximity to them. But for now, all was calm. Life went on as planned, and he still looked like the average civilian in a black military overcoat with red trim.

Nothing to see here. Yet.
