Setting

Welcome to Wing City Hospitals!
Our aim is to provide a tailored and comprehensive medical care of an award winning standard free of charge to everyone within the Multiverse. In partnership with The O'Connar Fund For Emergency Care, it is our promise is to offer fast, high quality treatment to anyone in need of it.

We are a large city hospital, with over 1000 beds occupied at any given time, and our staff is trained in all the eccentricities of Wing City's population. Need a wizard to fix your ailments, rather than a surgeon? The hospital can provide. Need a doctor who can deal with your powers exploding left right and centre while they fix your gaping wounds? No problem. Our staff are all highly trained to deal with the problems faced by genuine Wing City residents. No power is too powerful for us to deal with, and no race is too obscure; we offer a wide range of powered doctors, and our xenobiology department works day and night to meet your non-human needs.

Our staff is well versed in the more dangerous side of life in Wing City, despite the hospital and grounds being declared a demilitarised zone. We warn those who would cause this organisation harm that our staff are all highly trained, and acts of wanton violence against staff, patients or trust property will be dealt with severely.

You have now arrived in the hospital itself; please feel free to check in at the front desk, where you will be pointed in the right direction. Otherwise, look around and see if you can spot the department you need.

Feel free to use NPC Staff:
Nurses: Julia Farthing, Charge Nurse John Brown, Sister Isa Ling.
Pharmacists: Rob Miko and Jenny Sing.
Physio and Occupational therapists: Tora Laue, Jesetta Carmichal, Toby Forello.
Mental Health Professionals: Maximums Senningate, Rebecca White.
Health Care Assistants and Orderlies: Tim Roe, Harriet Roaring, Kelly South, Anita Talanta.
Porters: Nick West, Arron Viking, Kieran Lon.
Cleaning Staff: Charlotte Howley, Jin Ton, Surry Billingate.
Catering Staff: Phil Crowler, Jess Wright, Tommy Gazette.
Security: Mic Field, Tobias Boxing, Larry King, Sarha Farmer.
Emergency Medical Staff: Mecca, Truman Roth, Lilly Hakkat.
Transport Drivers: Freddie Borrow, Harmon Jett, Amy Usell.

An ultra-modern building for the most part, WCH also caters to beings from alternate timelines and continuities of altered or regressed medical technology. They guarantee that there is a ward to suit all patients, no matter where they are from or how dangerous their powers might be. Feel free to write your interaction into the correct ward setting for your character, if such a ward isn't already available.

NPC staff are versatile and there to help; they will step in for any needs that your partner players cannot fulfill. They will also intervene if things become out of hand, dangerous to staff, patients or property, or someone becomes violent.

The building is owned and run by Mr Horatio Castle, who is constantly looking to improve services and make WCH a better, safer place to be treated.

The volunteer smiled a rather genuine, pretty sort of smile. "Down the hall, the first set of elevators on your right. Go to the third floor, make a left, then your first immediate right after the nurse's station. There'll be a call button you can press. Give them the patient's name and state your relationship and they should buzz you right in."

Jaida stared for a moment.

"Are we in a hospital or a military base?" she asked Vince in a low tone.

Vince shrugged. "I'm usually one of those people that put people in the hospital. Never usually one to visit." he whispered to Jaida, nodding to the volunteer and thanking her before walking off to where she had told them the room was stationed. He pushed his hands in his pockets.

"It was the right, yeah?" he asked her as they came to the next turn. He would take it whether it was right or not and look for a button.

"That one?"

He followed closely behind the hospital staff, as they wheeled Sana out of the room on her bed. Upon entering the resting room, Hatchet noted how bland it was. The two nurses were on both sides of the bed. They carefully assisted Sana with lying down in the resting bed. The tediously anxious nurse blanketed Sana up to her chest, while the calm and collected nurse stood in the doorway to keep Hatchet as bay from the room; no peeks were sneaked. The nurse in the room galnced the over the room to make sure everything was in order; TV remote -check-, food tray -check-, IV -check-. She looked to Sana with a short, sweet smile. "Just press that button on this remote here..." She pointed to the assistance remote used for buzzing in a nurse whenever the patient needed something. ".. and we'll come right in. Don't be shy." She winked, and exitted the room passed the other nurse, giving her colleague a nod of approval to allow Hatchet in.

He nodded his head politely to both the nurses as they left. "I'll make sure to tell you if she needs anything." He waved at them with a smile; he lied too much for his own good. He trotted into the room, 'skipping to his loo' as he made his way to Sana's bedside. A clear sigh escaped his lungs, and he took a seat in the chair next to her bed. He scooted it over, the wooden feet susequently screeching, as they scootched across the floor. "Oh, Sana."
He made another attempt to slip his palm over her hand. "If only you were in better condition.. this scenario could turn into something much more sticky." A vile grin stretched over his face.

"Looks good to me." Jaida reached out, jabbing the button before he had a chance to. The doors slid open, receiving the passengers before swallowing them up and carrying them to the third floor.

After being dumped in the lobby of another nurse's station, Jaida lead the way back to the ICU, eventually leaning on the buzzer that would allow them passage.

Jaida hesitated before walking in. She had a very distinct, bad feeling about the place.

When she pushed the button, Vince spoke into it. "Ah...ah, hello. We're here to see a patient? Room 302? This is her sister and cousin. We would like to visit her." he said, speaking as if he wasn't sure. Speaking like this was an awkward visit. There was worry in his voice. He sounded like a fairly normal guy.

Heh. It almost made him laugh.

Meanwhile, Sana put her hand to her head, trying to sit up in the bed, groaning. She hated this. She hated the hospital. It looked like the fabrication center. She hated that she was shot. She hated, most of all, that she didn't even know why.

And she hated Hatchet a bit, too. When he reached for her hand, she snatched it away, but hissed as a fresh wave of pain came from her stitched wound. It took them forever to take out that bullet, and it felt as if they'd just made the wound bigger.

"Don't get any ideas."

Hatchet flicked his hand up, and laid it on the edge of the bed. He released another disappointed sigh, and shook his head. But, he was a persistent fellow. Sana knew that. "Oh, come on, Sana. " He innocently protested. "Think about why I'm here, right now." He tilted his head and arched a brow. He lifted his hand from the bed and snapped it up to point a finger directly at Sana. "I'm guarding my interests. I wouldn't do anything to compromise your safety... Well.." He chuckled slightly, and lowered his voice. "Your safety from everyone else. That comes with the territory." He smiled, gritting his teeth. He glanced over her figure. A lustful predator, he was. Poor girl. He suspected she could handle whatever he threw at her, though.

Jaida shot him a glance out of the corner of her eye, just as the nurse buzzed them through. When they entered the place though, she felt distinctly uncomfortable. It was just something about the atmosphere that she didnt' like. All around her were people who should have been dead, but weren't because of the advances of technology.

It was ... strange, to say the least, as though her whole being felt as though the situations were unnatural. Biting her lip, she looked toward him before heading towards the room Sana was in.

The woman nearly went in a fury, but not only had she been shot, bled an awful amount, and tried to move out of the bed during her surgery, but she had been drugged up enough that an elephant would topple over from the dosage. Or so it felt.

She sat back into the bed, hoping her body, mutated from the Arena Corps months ago, could heal her fast enough to get out of here quickly. She healed much faster than a normal human, but it wasn't on the spot, nor would she be moving very easily in the next few days. He head lay down in the bed, face white.

"Yeah, well, we'll see about that, Hatchet."

"You don't look particularly cheery," said Vince to Jaida, running his fingers through his hair, somehow without disturbing the bangs that hid his half missing, half screwed-up eye. "Anything you might want to be telling me? Perhaps it's something about being in a hospital?"

"I've never liked them much." Jaida admitted quietly. "Plus, I'm a necromancer. These souls aren't being held to the body by normal means..." She looked ahead to Sana.

"With her exception, these people really should be dead."

It was strange saying it. She didn't wish them dead, of course, she simply recognized a falsified situation when she saw one.

Vince's shoulders went up as he shrugged. "Not that I would call magic any more natural than technology. But if we can prevent someone from dying just one more day, why not do it?" he said, walking up to Sana's door.

"Well, here it is. Room 302." He reached out, opening the door. He paused, looking at the scene. Sana. With a guest. "Ah..."

Jaida paused, glancing over Vince's shoulder. "Wasn't expecting a third party?" she asked, leaning closer so she could peer through the window. Sure enough, there was Sana, white faced with a tense expression. She looked like she was in a lot of pain.

"Should we go in?"

Vince nodded. There really wasn't any need not to. He moved aside to allow Jaida in, his eyes on Hatchet the whole time. Who the hell was this? He did not know that Sana had any...er...anyone outside of the agency that she knew this well.

Or perhaps...it was an accomplice of the man that shot her. Vince's hand eased into his pocket, fingers reaching around the mech eye. Nanites floated to the tops of his skin, not apparent just yet, but ready for anything.

"Excuse us..."

His head turned sharply to the door, as colorful eyes dashed about, glancing over the two new figures. Just when he was beginning to enjoy his alone time with Sana. Hatchet huffed. He huffed and puffed, until he could stand it no more. He popped up out of the chair, and stood still, silently staring for just a brief moment. "Do you know these people, Sana?" he asked, his bright eyes still bored into the pupils of the visitors'; however, he presumed they were a threat. Steady, and ready was his hand.

"We're family," Jaida began, clearing her throat. "Heard about what happened and decided to come in to visit."

She didn't really like the looks of this guy. Then again, there probably weren't that many who did.

Vince nodded, one hand still in his pocket as they stepped in. This guy looked pretty...weird...with everything, but he tried not to judge on that, and instead focused on his demeanor, which also made Vince uneasy. He kept close to Jaida.

"Who are you?" he asked the man, tilting his head to the side.

---

Sana had to grin when she saw the two familiar faces enter, relieving her of the awkwardness with a one-on-one talk with Hatchet while she was so heavily injured. She clenched at the sheets. "Oh, Vince, Jaida. I'm...so glad to see you..."

Her voice was weak, but relieved.

His head, and eyeballs directed and dashed at each person; Jaida, Vince, and then Sana. He furrowed his brow at the last one, before looking back to the casually dressed boy.

Hatchet sighed; it was out of disappointment, more than relief. Today was not the day to be a knight in shining armor, or rather decieving oppurtunist. He lifted an ivory hand to his black tie, the colors contrasted quite noticeably, and straightened it. He was determined to look as bestly proper as he could for Sana's friends. First impressions were everything. He smiled, his scar revealing itself to be rather conspicuous. He nodded to Jaida and Vince, and stepped over to the edge of Sana's bed to extend his hand, for a handshake to the both of them.

Jaida didn't extend a hand for Hatchet, she merely delivered a small smile and inclined her chin to her chest. "Nice to meet you Hatchet," she said before glancing to her pocket. With a glance to Vince, she withdrew her cell phone, excused herself, and stepped out of the ICU.

"Hello?"

THe number wasn't one she recognized.

Vince stretched out a slow hand to grasp Hatchet's, wary as he kept his other hand in his pocket, fingers wrapped around the mech eye. Not that it was hard to direct the nanites without it. He just did not want them to become confused and attack Jaida, or worse since she was injured, Sana.

He watched Jaida walk out, wary at first, before he turned back to Hatchet. "Yes. Nice to meet you as well. As Sana said, I'm Vince."
