Setting

If Terra is a multicultural melting pot of a planet, then Wing City is its rich, bubbling core. The seat of the Terran National Government and the de-facto Capital of the world, there is very little on Terra that is not represented in some way in this bustling city. As diverse in its architecture as it is in its people, the city gives across a patchwork feel – sleek and post-modern skyscrapers stand side by side with traditional centuries-old stonework – including the massive wall which encircles much of it. Despite this, Wing City is by and large a modern and thriving city, supporting a wide variety of facilities from state of the art hospitals and expansive public libraries to its very own spaceport. The city isn’t all high-rising neatness, however, with large stretches of it beyond the walls in need of serious renovation.

The City extends around a large green gardens area at its centre, at its most pristine within the haven of natural beauty that has survived decades of conflict. A single vast street stretches from the gardens at the centre all the way to the main entrance at its southernmost point, along which many of its most famous landmarks are located – including the notorious Gambit Building, the reputed centre of martial learning that is the Master’s Dojo, and the home of the Terran National Government.

The housing of the city progresses from its most expensive residences being located nearby to the gardens - with the awe-inspiring Sol Tower proudly reaching into the sky amongst them - to the cheaper and more tightly packed housing generally being found further east; amongst amenities such as the fire department, the post office and the police station. To the north of this area lies the business district, within which the headquarters of many of the city’s most prominent corporations can be found, along with the odd building of obscenely expensive studio apartments overlooking well-maintained streets and a sea of suits. It is in this northern portion of the city where the spaceport lies, a constant stream of both personal and trade ships generally seen ascending and descending from it.

In the southwest, the social hub of the city can be found just off of Main Street. Wing City Plaza boasts all sorts of entertainment, from restaurants to nightclubs – even an Arena a short way to the north. The Plaza is also home to public facilities such as the hospital and other administrative buildings.

Aside from Main Street, the city’s entrances can be found to the eastern side of the city where a massive gate is set into the wall, the road beyond leading through the slums and off to the coast, as well as the smaller western gate leading to a nearby lake. Finally, there is a long open highway leading out of the city to the southeast.

The culture of Wing City is, as one might expect from a city so diverse, almost impossible to comprehensively describe. There are communities for all races, all religions and all species; for the magically inclined and the space-travellers. Anyone can find their niche somewhere within the city’s walls, or even create their own. With a thriving economy, nightlife and nigh-on overflowing population, it’s no surprise that the benefits of such a busy city come hand in hand with danger. Crime is a serious concern within the city, and although the WCPD are one of the finest forces on the planet – equipped to deal with all manner of threat, both natural and supernatural – there remains a level of danger in walking the streets alone. Whether it be organized crime in the form of gangs and cults, the more chaotic lashing out of individuals or the hunger of vampire or demon and the like, citizens and visitors alike are advised to watch their backs.

So whether it’s to enjoy the sights, build a home and career or just to make trouble – welcome to Wing City.

A surprise waits around every corner.

Lines formed along the outskirts of the large building, the only building in sight for miles. It rose for a mile into a darkened sky, without window or door other than the ones located on the bottom floor. Some called it the ‘Dagger’, as its symbol implied, while others called it home. From its upper levels craft could be seen coming and going, though the hows and whys of their entrance or departure was unknown to all but the pilots and ones lucky enough to be on the upper floors.

The lines though, and the people within them, had all come on large cargo ships. Each one nervously looked up toward the clouds that towered above, always swirling, always hiding the sun that shown just beyond its reach. To many, that sun would mean death, for every man, woman, and child below the eternal clouds, were vampires.

The building they crowded around was known as the Vampire Registry Sanctum, or simply, the VRS. As a leading corporation in the Multiverse, catering mainly to the undead, or their victims, the company had grown to weild within its grasp a might power over those which sought to feed on blood. For years they simply guided the soulless, but as of late, more and more light had began to shine on their exploits, until the VRS had to as well come from the shadows.

In so doing, they have begun requiring every known vampire, turned and born, to register and become known to the Company. Any that did not after the allotted time, were to be hunted down and destroyed as unlawful practitioners of ancient crimes.

The next couple in line made their way into the building, tugging a small, pale boy in their wake. They made their way to the only object within the first floor of the Sanctuary, and smiled at the old woman sitting behind the large obsidian desk.

“Name?” The elder woman asked politely.

“Jenson Junas, wife Sarah Junas, and son Artaris Junas,” the man said, his accent thick and almost un-discernable. Still, the elderly lady smiled and wrote down the names into a large book. At once each of the vampires felt a burning sensation within their heads, a sensation that lasted until the ink began to dry on their names.

“Now then,” the lady said. “You may return home, or you may take resedince in the caves below, which are quite nice I must say. If you return home, you will find tickets waiting. The tickets shall be your limit of humans upon which you may hunt. Exceed those numbers, and you will be labeled hostile, and your entire family or coven destroyed. Remain here, and you will be furnished with synthetic blood, which holds all the nutrients and taste of human.” The woman smiled, her ruby-red lipstick showing bright against stark white teeth.

“We will return home, thank you,” the father replied.

“Very well, enjoy your trip! NEXT!”

As the couple made their way from the room, they couldn’t help but notice the only other person in the room; a man standing in a corner, almost drenched in shadows, wearing the suit that caused many of their kind to shiver and seek shelter. A Hunter, a Slayer.

The next person in the line quickly rushed forwards not wanting to be left out of the registration, she stood about 5ft 7in her figure somewhat athletic and her crimson red hair flowing down her shoulders, she wore a black coat which covered her red lace top and her blue carbonized jeans.

The elderly woman looked the girl up and down before asking the typical question: "Name?" her voice not as kind as the girl had hoped, "R..Rose Lusion.." she said timidly, Rose wasn't the bravest of people but she had to do this for her and her lover, "A..And Ruby Su..Summers." she added. The elderly woman wrote both names in the book and Rose breathed a sigh of relief as the burning sensation was felt in her head, the sensation lasting merely a few seconds as she sighed and allowed the elderly woman to continue.

"Now then," She said the line must have been repeated so many times Rose wouldn't have known how to count them, "You can return home, or you may take refuge in the caves below us, which are quite nice I must admit." her eyes showing truth in them as she spoke, "If you decide to return home there will be tickets waiting, those tickets will be the number of humans you are allowed to hunt." The elderly woman explained like it was an everyday thing, "If you exceed the number you and your lover will both be deemed hostile, both of you will be destroyed possibly your whole coven." Rose flinched as she explained the destruction of her and Ruby if they didn't comply with the rules, "However, if you stay in the caves you will be given Synthetic Human Blood, Containing all the necessary nutrients and taste of human." the woman's ruby-red lipstick made Rose think about her lover's ruby red hair.

"We'll seek refuge here thank you." Rose smiled politely

"Very well please take the stairs to your right." the elderly woman smiled.

Rose froze the moment she saw the Slayer, A Hunter. "Rose?" Ruby enquired as she stood at the door waiting for her love, "Oh S..Sorry Ruby!" she panicked running to Ruby fear deep in her eyes.

"Next!" The elderly woman shouted as Rose left with Ruby.

Vampires…. Trantor was ambivalent about this corp, the internally named, VRS group. A large cruiser had been floating, as representatives flew on a chopper, heading to the company. “Interesting…” the man said, his face looking at the cloud cover, as he asked her “Tell me, when was VRS a big power…” the man inquired the pilot, the rest of his team in states of sleep, from the long journey to the world.

“From a while back, when we were in the intervention period, sir,” the pilot, an android responded, “Our mission is to offer our services and weapons to the Hunters, as according to reports, they plan on eliminating excessive vampire based activity.”
“Ha,” the man said, his voice full of contempt “They really think they can do this, but this must be supported, they sent our cruiser out here…” He thought of the incident, his memories clear…

“Sir, we have borders… they hijacked the diplomatic vessel!” The cries of the intern were clear, “Why didn’t the cyborgs notice this!” the man shouted, as his console shorted out, and lights went into emergency mode, dimming the command area, “They infected them! Marines can’t handle this, we aren’t a warship, and the nearest ship is hours away…” The man pulled out a shotgun, saying, “Then we fight until they get here. Let’s move out!”

As he returned from the memory, the man shighed, looking for a pack of his stimulants. They were no where to be found. His stimulants were one of the few things that he could rely on, but they weren't in his jacket.. “Vampires…” he said, “Cursed dead….”

Estimated time of arrival is twenty minuets, sir,” the android said, “Anything else..” she said ,her sensors canning an increased tension. “Nothing else, just take us there,, these clouds are creeping me out…" The first chopper, and several other escorting craft flew in the air, the sound of the flying machine clear to anyone in a ship. If they looked closer, they would notice human sized flyers, flying alongside the chopper. The eternal pursuit of profit was never to be stopped, for that was the way of Trantor.

Jade slipped into the line as it progressed. His eyes were dark as he looked around at the others around him. His thirst was increasing steadily, but he was in control.

A few minutes past and he was next in line. He felt rather short in the line as he was only 5' (feet) tall. He heard the registrar call out,
"Next," and stepped forward replacing the person in front of him in line. He looked the registrar in the eyes as he told them his name, "Jade Montague. Son of Jax, my father, and Raven, my mother, both of the Montague family. I'm the last of the Montague family in existence. Is there anything else you need to know?" He noticed some characteristics about the registrar. She was an elderly woman.

The lady adds his name to the Book, then looks up, her kind face wrinkled with age and full of smiles.

"No, no dear, that is all. Now then,” the lady said. “You may return home, or you may take residence in the caves below, which are quite nice I must say. If you return home, you will find tickets waiting. The tickets shall be your limit of humans upon which you may hunt. Exceed those numbers, and you will be labeled hostile, and your destroyed. The choppers arrived, the first ones hovering in a holding pattern near the Company’s main building. A message was sent, the contents simple. “This is Trantor. We request an audience, about the registration. We wish to enchance your work, and increase your hunter’s productivity.” The message was clear, as the choppers flew, their fuel supplies full for now. Hopefully someone would get the message, and allow them a landing area for the diplomatic and economic forces would arrive.

“Sir…” the pilot of the chopper said to their leader, “WE have a message from a Vampire front…”

“Patch it through, I need to know who opposes this.” The Message was clear and frank. “Freaking vampires..” he said, “What next, comparing themselves to religious minorities, freaking lifesuckers… but must…” the man stopped, adjusting his hat, “Wake up, and get ready to land you bums..” he barked, “We are going to be landing soon, so get ready, and prepare for possible terroristic activity. Get your backups in now, before they jam us…” He would be ready, oh yes..”

Jade smiled kindly at the old lady revealing his glistening teeth, but not his fangs, as he said, "I'll return home. Thank you. I won't need your tickets though... I tend to not hunt nowadays, or feed for that matter. Again, thank you." He then turned and moved out of the line heading back home as he ignored the stares from some of the vampires that he knew were probably glaring at him for his fasting from blood. He felt rather awkward as he walked down the line past all of the vampires. Before he exited the building he did notice something out of his peripheral in the shadows that he thought was familiar in some way, but continued, not wanting to stick around and have to deal with the vampires that were here. He wondered about his thirst and thought to himself, 'If I ever get really out of control from thirst I can come here and accept their synthetic material. Hopefully it will satiate my thirst more than the sick animals would, and I won't have to worry about being in control of myself. I don't want to stay 'cause I have to watch over Himeko, but I can visit.'

A small black crow flew in the skies over heard, it's beady golden orange eyes watching as his fellow kin line up for this 'registration', this sickened him so. "Fools, they dare call them selves vampires!?" a voice echoed from inside the crows tiny head, it the darkened clouds that were bloating out the sun, and it's natural black color made it next to impossible to see. "Those pigs will surely suffer for this, forcing my kin to gather at there door step like mere cattle, I will make sure that there deaths will be slow and agonizing as possible..." it said, it's voice filled with a ancient, indescribable rage, its small beady eyes now locking onto the chopper, as a chuckle followed by a roar of insane laughter began to echo threw the skies above. "Ahahahahahaha, you filthy swine shall pay for you're treachery! Send you're hunters, send you're soldiers, send you're assassins, send you're god!!! I shall slaughter them like the worthless dogs they are and lay there corpses upon you're door step!!!" the voice yelled, it to be heard by all bellow. "Now we shall see who is hunting who?" it mused as it flew away from the area and disappearing from sight, it leaving those words for all those of his kin to follow, if any true vampire was present they would get the picture...

"I will go down in history..."

The whispering of the lone vampire, soaring through the sky above the clouds, with a dreamy smile upon his face, was lost on the wind roaring past his form as he flew. The vampire was blonde, his hair short and rugged, his eyes blue and his face clean shaven. Upon his thin form, he wore a black suit and a midnight blue cloak, that trailed out like a flag behind him as he soared.

"The mistress will be pleased, I will strike the opening blow. None can stop me now!"

The eyes of the vampire would appear, upon closer inspection, to be glazed over, as if he were staring into a reality no other could see. It was plain that he was not entirely sane, however, if not from his eyes, from the slightly crazed smile, or the occasional twitch of his eyelid, it would still be easy to tell. It would be easy to tell from the large bundle of explosives strapped to his body.

"I am the first. I am a martyr for all of my kind. I am a hero"

With these words, that faded away on the breeze as those before, he swooped downwards into a dive. Below, eyes already on the sky after the appearance of the crow would widen at the sight of the lone figure soaring downwards towards the VRS building. Fingers were pointed, gasps rippled through the crowd as the man flew directly toward the building, showing no signs of stopping.

"They will fall, I will defeat them, my strength is greater than theirs, I shall-"

The ravings of the insane man were cut off as he impacted with the side of the building, approximately half way up its height, and the explosives strapped to his body exploded. The initial shock-wave tore away a huge chunk of the building, rubble spiraling outwards and crashing to the ground below, crushing more than one member of the crowd. Then the fireball burst outwards, plumes of fire and smoke heating up the very air around the impact site and creating an impressive display of orange and yellow light, illuminating the crowd below. When the smoke cleared, the building still stood, but where the vampire terrorist had hit, there was a gaping hole almost half way through the building, and it was groaning ominously, the remaining structural supports crying out at the weight they now held after the side of the building was taken out.

Bricks, mortar and other debris still clattered down to the floor below as the structure groaned, though it showed no signs of toppling, it was severely damaged.

The first blow had been struck.

Koeheara walks up to the registry building and seeing it had been attacked, wondered if she was doing the right thing. She couldn't believe she allowed herself to be bullied into this, but she had given her word. She sighed as a lonely tear streamed down her cheek and made her way to the registrar. Looking at her, trying to hide the fact she was not doing this by choice. "My name is Koeheara. I don't know what other information you need, but I have no Sire. I was abandoned by the one who turned me." She waited for instructions from the registrar on exactly what to sign and if there was any other information needed. Again she sighed and another lonely tear escaped that she hoped the registrar did not see.

Savine's jacket fluttered around her ankles as she stepped through the darkness, pushing roughly past Koeheara, as the vampyr reached forwards and registered herself as who she is.

"Grow up, child. You havent signed your sould to the devil. Stop your crying." Those sinister words, aimed at Koeheara, hissed through Savines fangs. Her hair fell in a waterfall between her shoulder blades as the young but fierce being walked back out into the cool night, dissappearing into the trees and shadows of the day

"There there dear, no need to worry, that's all we need. Do you have a place to stay hon? If not, you are welcome to stay here, as others have. If you do, you are free to go and come as you please, we only ask that you not kill over the limit of lives needed to sustain yourself. We don't want a lawsuit on our hands, do we dearie? Now then, you just tell me what you'd like to do, and we can get you all fixed up. Oh, and don't mind the mess, there are some who are bent on destroying any hope of peace, I swear."

Koe looked at the elderly woman and smiled, relaxing a little. She thought perhaps this woman was different. She seemed much nicer than Ikor. Maybe she did not know what was really going on. She leaned in and whispered. "Yes, but do you know why I am even here? I gave my word and so I am here, but I did not choose this. I was bullied into it."

Fresh tears fell from her eyes as she trembled remembering the horrible battle and how her love almost died protecting her ideals. She sunk into a nearby chair and sobbed uncontrollably, holding her hands to her face and realizing how close she came to losing her love. She didn't even look up to gauge the woman's reaction to this. She was too overcome with what she looked at as a loss of her own free will. She was afraid of what would happen if she did not sign.

Ruby was scared for her love and decided to head back and make sure that everyone who decided to stay in the caves below knew the way, as the Vampire terrorist impacted against the building nothing but sheer anger was etched upon the redhead's face, "Fuckin' lunatic." she declared as she saw the rude girl barge past a younger one, Ruby suddenly blinked as she accidentally probed the younger girl's mind, 'Ikor?' she asked in her mind her eyes widening in confusion.

Ruby shook her head clearing her mind of thoughts, she walked to Koe and smiled, "Come on you don't want hunters to chase you down now do ya?" she asked as if it was an everyday subject, "Come on it's not the end of the world, so dry those tears." she smiled pleasantly.

The aftermath was pretty bad. Because these choppers weren’t armed, as per many neutrality agreements, there was no way to shoot down the vampire terrorists. The N-Jammers, meant against nuclear weapons, would do nothing against conventional explosives. To defend more civilians, the two choppers used their little shield energy to take the blast, which would destroy them wholesale. The remaining choppers landed, but in the ship, various fighter craft, armed with type IX “Planetbuster” type bombs would be launched, the Black Ops preparing for total destruction. Attacking Trantor Civilians would make these vampires suffer massive regret…

The marines and civilians walked out, as the two Motoko Type Androids set up a patrol, using their sensors to scan for more, secondary explosives. The next time, they would not be caught unguarded. Now of course, that explosion had enough power to actually reveal the sun, causing any vampires within the few hundred meters of the radius to have to run, or be exposed to its dangerous solar rays. Their terrorism would backfire, the explosives powerful enough to break a wall, powerful enough to break the cloud cover. Shields would help, but the choppers would have to wait, hoping that their little power could hold back the sun's power before it cooked the vampires unlucky enough to be caught in the aftermath.

"Sir.." the android asked Blake, the leader of this expedition, "Shall we head towards the VRS?" The man laughed, "Well, we can't do much until backup arrives, sure.." And with that, Blake and a small team headed towards the VRS, preparing to make full first contact.

A lone Sapphire cloak flutters in the distance high off one of the buildings. Its remains are tattered and worn down with tears and holes scattered across it though the hood seems to be in a better condition. The hood seems to be held up by a pair of shattered twin blades, whoes blades had been forced into the floor of the building by some supernatural being or someone with inhuman strength. The hood was resting on these two hilts, but there was something off about this article of clothing; the entire area where the hood was, was shadded by a black void that let no light of any kind into it. While the blades could be seen from the base of the cloak, as soon as it reach the hood it was almost as if the image had been erased.

Not far away, on another building a lone figure stood, his body stretching backwards over itself until his palms touched flat on the ground behind him and he began to bend upwards once more. He was wearing a pair of heavy, black boots and a pair of enchanted gloves, legendary in the fact they allowed the user to touch and hold silver without being harmed. His armor was a dark steel gray and deep cobalt blue. Across his back as an intricate and interlocking track system along with 4 pairs of twin blades, each pair different from the last. At either side of his waist was a heavy, crank opperated, black crossbow. Below that were the various clips designed for it and loaded with various kinds of bolts. His armor also was riddled with various daggers and blades of all shapes and sizes.

The figure gave a solitary sigh and moved to pick up his obsidian black cloack and draw it around himself. An inner fire burned within his eyes as he looked down on the VRS with disgust. A solitary gloved hand reaching back to draw his hood over his face, as it was wiped way with the black, monotonous void his hood were enchanted with. He stood on the edge of the building and waited.
