Introduction
1721, Vatican City, Rome.
Plot
Ever had a dream so elaborate, so amazing, you wished it was real?
Leo D'Arcangelo did.
As a high class thief and "classically" trained assassin, Leo lived a life few dreamt of.
He killed, he lusted, he won, he became.
Years of practice, refinement, and money hardened him.
He soon grew bored and looked for something new.
This "something new" came to him in the form of a weary noblemen, who was in need of a personal assassin.
While deals such as this rarely surface, Leo's made headlines. The target, a wealthy merchant who happened to be under the queen's personal care, was poisoned with an untraceable liquid that was, of course, never traced. Nor was it ever linked to the nobleman or Leo.
Like all noblemen, Marvin, the one who hired Leo, had an overly sized mouth. He was soon blabbing about the wonderful skills of his own personal "garbage boy".
The other noblemen, being greedy and childish, wanted their own "Leo's".
Leo's solution? Form a guild. A group of highly skilled, vigilant assassins to do the noblemen's bidding.
[i]Where YOU come in:
Now, Leo has already gathered four other assassins, but they've encountered some problems. Competing hitmen, assassins, and bounty hunters are always looking for ways to take them down.
They must find safe, clean, usable places to sleep every month or two because they must move, and they have to keep a low profile, their faces never remembered, their deeds always forgotten.
Every assassin within the guild had their own area of expertise, making them useful... Everywhere.
Leo is the only one who can "play" all the parts: actor, thief, killer, negotiator.
He's what most would label as... "The Master Mind, The Man-With-The-Plan." Around the group, he's just known as "The Leader"
Every assassin [you will have to post applications for them and such] will have their own pasts which can interfere... Long lost lover? Yeah, you can have one. Think ancient times.
The roleplay will follow them through their jobs, personal relationships, problems, failures, etc.
I will need:
At least four assassins, if not more.
A very wealthy, influential, scandalous nobleman or woman.
Someone to play the clients... This can be more than one or just one person. [You'll receive the name and problem of the client via P.M. and then you will just write it out. If no one does this, I will!]
Extras: Old friends who are not Assassins, [i]BE CREATIVE[/b]
I'll be posting Leo and Isabella's [Isabella being Leo's long-time friend and recent partner.] later. :) If you have any questions, just ask!

Pop! The floorboards were acting up; they hated it when Leo paced. In fact, his whole apartment seemed to dislike it when he took on a nervous demeanor. Agitated as he was, his mind was speeding around like an alter boy after mass. Surrounded by religion, Leo was constantly bombarded with the thoughts of Hell. If it existed, he stood at it's gates. Where the hell was Isabella? She had promised to be here by noon. The sun was far past noon.
Isabella had no concept of time, at least, that's how Leo saw it--or, at least, how he made sense of her horrible punctuality. Correction, her lack of punctuality. Tell her meet you at noon, she comes at dusk, meet her at midnight; Oh, did you say midnight? I thought you said midday! She would wriggle her way out of anything. Her crafty nature and over-all appeal were all in her favor--she was great at what she did. If they need an actress, she was their girl... If they need a thief... Well, she wasn't so great. She drifted in an out of the house, never really committing; she wasn't even a member of the guild. Women....
Leo closed his eyes and cracked his knuckles, resting his hands on the antique couch that took up most of the room within the make-shift meeting room; his now-empty living room. He could live on the bare essentials, but Isabella had insisted that he put in some sort of furniture. Heaven forbid he have a bare spot within the room. Damn women. He stared at the door and wished, hoped, waited, for anyone, anything, to ease his weary nerves.

Alan walked into the creaking house to see Leo pacing and the floor creaking in time with the steps, "Hmm" Alan murmured as he thought If Leo was pacing he was annoyed or stressed, Mind you he did have things to worry about The number of clients seemed to have decreased lately as well as Leo had his girlfriend to look after, The girl had so sense of time and everyone knew that that stressed Leo . Alan walked over to Leo "Hey Leo" he said before putting his hand on the mans shoulder, Once he had done this in the other order and nearly lost his head for his troubles and Alan was making sure that he wouldn't make that mistake again.

He was a tall, finely dressed man, and in his hands was a long wooden instrument. He plucked the gut stretched out across the wood tenderly, smiling. "Now, you all wanted a story, so a story I shall tell." The man grinned a faded smile, his teeth the color of stained wood.
His fingers flew across the strings, causing a single note to ring out and reverberate down the warm street. The man smiled against, raising an eyebrow at the crowd, sizing them up. A group of ruffians....hm, I guess, the usual one...
He strummed the strings again and his silver tongue kicked into action.
"Eons ago, before your father's time. Before your father's father's time. Before even the time of the Church and popes. Before the time of Jesus Christ. Before the time of the great kings and ancient wars. Before the time of Northerner invasions, before even, the legends of heroes. This time, was a time of peace and prosperity. There were but two groups of people. Those that lived in villages, and those that lived outside the villages. The people were gay and made merry. The harvest was good and there was many a feast in great banquet halls. Much music was had and the wine flowed as free as the rivers.
"There was peace. But peace is a fickle thing, and is gone as quickly as the wind. And there came a time of great strife. Those inside the villages had discovered a great dungeon, when mining for metals in the hill lands.
"Inside this dungeon lived a great beast....who was awoken by the axes and picks of the village-dwellers, and was angered by their intrusion...."
Yes, this was the clutch. The monster. The thing the people wanted and craved for. The man's melodic voice echoed down the street, telling a tale of bravery and strength...a peasant's tale. His fingers occasionally plucked the strings, and his wooden smile was never far from his face. This man was a stranger in the outside world. Always shut up in great estates or monasteries. But, he was awake. Free at last. And soon the world would know his name. For he was the future hero-to-be. The role-model of the universe. This was the great, the magnificent, the not-quite-legendary Templar Jeacque Raynes-Iron.

He began pacing again, letting Alan's hand fall off of him. "What... She's not... She's not like us..." He stopped at a wall and placed his head on it. "If she doesn't come back, I'm killing the Duchess, her brother, her dog, her dog's brother, and every damn servant in that damned house." His lack of sleep and unusual amount of alcohol within the last week was causing his judgment to slur slightly; he was becoming more an more irrational.
He stepped back and looked at Alan, saddened, "Gaaaaaaaaaah." His weary eyes seemed to be only offset by his tone; stressed and alert.

Of course, it wasn't so much of a problem if you happened to be one of these shady characters.
So thought an amused Maria Gallo as she stole down the deserted street. Her pace was sauntering and easy, the pace of someone who had nothing to fear. And she didn't. Even if one of the dangerous, often drunk men that clogged the streets at that hour was stupid enough to try something on her, Maria's single dagger, held snugly at her thigh, assured that she would never be without the means to defend herself. So it was with confidence that she walked, her hips swinging smartly and her lips pulled into a permanent smirk of self satisfaction.
Only when she reached her destination - the living quarters of one Leo D'Arcangelo - did Maria stop. She tossed back her hood with the drama only someone who had been pined and ogled over for her entire life could have, her dark tresses rippling down her back. She appraised the apartment critically. You'd think that someone who had Rome's most infamous group of assassins at his command would live somewhere less...average. But then, she was part of that group, so she wasn't exactly in the position to judge.
She shrugged, and rapped on the door. Under normal circumstances, Maria would've simply invited herself in. But about halfway to the apartment she had made an impulse decision to give manners a try.

He was becoming paranoid.
Pacing resumed, Leo's eyes searched the floor for a clue to where Isabella was; more specifically, if she was alright. But, alas, it seemed the floor yielded nothing as he paced from one wall to the next, never looking up. He muttered quietly to himself his fingers curling in and out.

Alan watched as Leo paced up and down making the floor squeak in protest which made it hard to think, After several minutes Alan jumped up a hopeful expression trapped on his face as he looked over to Leo "I suggest we go search the Duchesses house and find her, After what should three professional killers fear at such a place I alone have taken my targets out from under the noses of the nobles in the middle of such houses at least twenty times".

Alan thought for a moment and changed how he was walking making himself look more important and dangerous, Alan smiled at Leo "My name is Rilo 'D' Gertus and I am the royal guard charged with protection of the Princess Varia Lionfinich, Alan was glad he was dressed in what he was dressed in, It was a simple dark suit which a lot of nobles and royals a like would wear along with the cloak her wore to hold his "tools".

He quickly vanished down the street and started heading towards the richer side of town, near the massive cathedral. He was running low on funds, and the rich where always generous to a bard. He grinned to himself and rubbed his face, streaking a fine white powder along his jaw, unnoticed.
He turned down another street and raised his eyebrow at a shady group bearing down on him. They were muttering to themselves and looked like nobles trying to pretend.
Templar reached into a pouch and withdrew a long, thin metallic tube. It was lined with holes and he raised one to his mouth. He started to blow into it, and a soft melody erupted from the tube. It was a twisty melody that spoke of mystery and hidden glories, deep within it's tones. He stopped, removing the tube from his lips and addressed the group of three. "Good evening gentlemen and lady; care to listen to a tune from me? A pretty coin will pry a story that will be sure to warm your soul. And perhaps....keep the brigands off your backs."

He straightened his back and blinked, waiting for an answer. As far as grifters went, Leo was one of the best. Not to say the others were bad, he'd just been doing it for much longer. When he was training, he learned to read people, and he learned to lie--better than anyone. When he got into character, he was no longer himself. He walked different, he talked different, he even adapted odd mannerisms that made his character... His.
As a Ucoslavian dignitary, he had to speak as if he had only recently "mastered" English. His walk had to be almost a strut; his posture, dominant and cat-like. He always had to be on guard, mostly from mental attacks. As a diplomat, people attacked him with words rather than hand-to-hand combat or daggers. He was Marvich L'Nic.

Alan walked slowly up out of the shadows to put himself between Leo and the bard as would his job be if he was who he now said he was, Alan's gaze flickered over the bard weighting him up as a knight or other person trusted enough to guard a princess would, Alan gave a small cough as Leo finished his speech "Bard I suggest you move" he said with a voice designed to not carry his accent but allowing the posh manner of a noble to fill his voice instead.

"Of course, who am I to ask who's business is what? I am just a simple bard, no one of importance. My job is to entertain, tell stories to the masses and appease the drunken hordes that pervade the streets of our fine city." He waved his hand about the street for effect. "Of course..." His grinned sharpened, eying the group with a cat-like malice. "I could always just leave, and go entertain others...I'm sure someone wants to hear my stories."

And as for Psycoman... that's true enough about the different cells and whatnot. I think it may only be the LaVeyan Satanists here in San Francisco. Cause you know... Us liberals're damn crazy... Hahaha.
