All cut to darkness.
The lights in the room went dark. All the equipment went silent. Naught but the sound of breathing could be heard, at least as far as Ritter could hear. Olivia could hear the beyond, quiet yet vast like a storm beyond the window. He looked puzzled, though his face was hidden in darkness effectively.
"Hm. Strange."
He produced a flash light from his desk, a tool who's initial purpose was to help him view changes in the pupil, and used it to examine his computer. It seemed the equipment was damaged in the surge, the damage to the information indeterminate. Luckily he always actively backed up information to his lap top. The surge hadn't effected it since it wasn't hooked to the facility's power grid during the shortage.
Bah, I foresaw something like this being inevitable. I may not be able to communicate with the world outside but I should be able to sit out this breach of security. The old doctor thought as he sat back down in his chair. He lacked the ability to open the door given he only had one of the keys and no means of calling the security station due to the surge. With the possibility of mutants with technology oriented abilities he was stern in ensuring the door was primarily sealed mechanically, leaving minimal circuitry involved should there be an attempt to hack security by mutants or otherwise.
Olivia simply sat, laying limp in her chair. The pain had subsided but the exhaustion from her body's response to the situation held tight. Before she couldn't notice but now she could tell how her body hurt from just how tense it had been. She didn't have much of a thought, her head was just swimming in the aftermath of the pain. The darkness was quite soothing, no harsh lights save the small beam from the flash light. The flash light's light was insignificant as a detraction though. The calm dark held much relief for her. No freedom, especially from the pain.
Just relief.
