Teppie

"How interesting."

0 · 253 views · located in year 2015

a character in “The New Camp Keystone”, as played by ABC

Description

Name: Asks to be called "Teppie", claiming that her real name is not pronounceable using any human, nor most inhuman, syllables.

Age: Her exact age is unknown even to her, "lost to the mists of time" as she puts it. She appears to be around sixteen though, and her maturity level is more suited to that age anyway.

What are you: Technically more of an "it" than a "she", Teppie is an extradimensional being existing simultaneously in this and at least one other plane of reality. Beyond that, the specifics are unclear, and Teppie herself is not especially helpful in this regard, attempting to clarify only when it strikes her fancy, and, deliberately or not, being confusing and highly abstract in any explanations. She once implied that she may be a being from the Cthulhu mythos, or rather, that one of them is her, but it still hasn't even been determined whether or not this was a deliberate implication on her part, much less if it was actually true. Also, due to her rather inconsistent use of pronouns, specifically "I" and "we", it is currently unknown whether or not she is the only one of... whatever it is that she is.

Human Appearance: Image

Eye Color: Brown

Hair Color: Blonde

Height: 5'3

Weight: 115 lbs.

Personality: Contrary to popular notions about beings like herself, Teppie holds no ill will for humans, or anyone for that matter. The majority of the things she does are for her own amusement, as one might expect. Unfortunately, her understanding of basic morality is incomplete, and there are a good many things that she avoids doing not because of any issue that she herself takes with it, but instead to avoid angering the others, although that reasoning might well be thrown out the window if she decides that it might be funny to see them angry. That said however, Teppie does show an impressive amount of restraint, all things considered, and she does have a certain degree of respect for others and their wishes. As one might expect of a being such as she, she rather objective and fairly unemotional, viewing most things with a detached amusement. This almost always leads to her forgetting that she herself is also involved, rather than just being an observer. Her logic often tends leave something to be desired, and her thought processes are generally incompatible with those of humans.

Power(s): While being confined to a human form has strictly limited her abilities, Teppie still has a few interesting tricks she can do, primarily things related to ignoring some of the rules that reality normally imposes upon those within its influence. Firstly, Teppie has a habit of floating around as thought she were in space. This is not true flight, as she lacks the ability to change speed or direction without something to push off of, but rather just a blatant disregard for gravity. Secondly, she seems to posses an ability most aptly described as off-screen teleportation. Much like a villain in some horror film, she seems to have no difficulty getting wherever it is she's going without any noise, and far more quickly than she should have been able, with the condition that both she and her destination are not currently being directly observed. Finally, while technically more of a consequence of her existence up to this point than a power, Teppie has a bizarre insight into most topics.

Cabin #: 3

Likes/Interests/hobbies: Fiction, or rather, as she described it "The device created by humans to transcend their everyday existence, and slip free of their universe's jealous grip." As you might have gathered, she strongly values creativity and imagination. Teppie is also a fan of people or things that she finds interesting or amusing in general.

Dislikes: Teppie currently lacks the emotional involvement required to establish a strong dislike of anything. She does seem to find the effects of the wristband keeping her, or at least keeping the part of her that is here, in human form to be mildly annoying though.

Crush:

Enemies:

History/Bio: Teppie has been poking around in this dimension for quite a while now, and will be the first to admit that she wasn't entirely subtle about it either, She has, in her own words "meddled a bit" in things that she probably should have stayed out of, and has left something of an impression with those who remained sane after these encounters, inspiring more than a few stories of beings in the sky, or rising from the depths of the ocean, in shapes that didn't fit the descriptions of other mythological beings. She never really meant any harm though, seeking only to alleviate her boredom. Eventually however, the entertainment value grew thin, until finally, she stumbled upon Camp Keystone. Despite the fact that her status as "mythical creature" was debatable at best, she was allowed into the camp. Here she hopes to find reprieve from the rut she's found herself in. And maybe learn how to get along better with people, if there's time.

"Teppie", as she'd decided to call herself for her stay at the camp, hung from a tree not far from the area in which the new campers seemed to be arriving. Well, technically it would be more accurate to say that she was floating near the tree, and just holding onto one of its branches so that she wouldn't drift away if the wind decided to pick up. Either way, the general effect was the same, and she was provided with an excellent position from which to watch as people showed up.

Teppie herself had only arrived a few hours ago, showing up in one of her usual guises, a pharaoh in a bright robe, requesting the opportunity to stay at the camp and participate in the activities and events that took place. After that had been approved, she had been given the wristband that currently resided on her left arm, the one currently keeping her in this form. Exactly why it was this form that she had adopted was beyond her understanding, since she had never used it before, but it didn't really concern her. What was a bit irritating was the fact that being a human prevented her from using a great deal of her former strength, and tied her into a physical form, she supposed that it was the price one pays for a change of pace.

The Ice Elf that had arrived first had made her briefly debate whether or not to pop over there with some good-natured pun about him looking a little blue, but she had eventually decided to wait and watch until more people arrived, or possibly just until someone made notice of her, before she would head over. Besides, he'd probably heard such jokes before, and Teppie preferred to be original. After that, it didn't take long for the two to be joined by other counselors and campers, and one of the latter seemed to be accompanied by a pixie-like entity. Yes, the multidimensional being mused to herself, this was going to be interesting indeed.

Teppie had been growing increasingly bored with the situation at hand, primarily because she was too far away to hear any of what was being said. She was fairly certain that what was happening was actually very interesting, particularly based on the expressions and actions that the people bellow seemed to display, but she was still mostly out of earshot, and only able to catch some of the louder stuff. It occurred to the being that it was yet another limitation of the form that she now took, as a result of the bracelet's power, but she'd still play along nonetheless.

This train of thought let Teppie to realize that, while she had come to this camp to participate, she'd been doing little more than observing, much as she had been for the past... how long? Well, that was rather open to interpretation, and really not the point anyway. What was important was that she get out there and start interacting with these people, creatures, whatever they were to be classified as.With her path set, Teppie was about to pop down and say hello, (using the Jersey Devil as cover to appear behind, since she was unable to appear within anyone's line of sight, and he was big enough that it would probably work,) when the draconic director's voice became easy to distinguish. Based on the letter, or perhaps it was a note, in his hand, and another thing or two, he seemed rather upset.

"Cabin three. These are your campers, Johnothan's are on the back, he's in cabin two. I need to have a word in private with Bridgette. And for Christ's sake, Leeds! Shrink. Now."

And with that, he was off to the office with Bridgette. As much as Teppie thought it might be fun to try and eavesdrop, she didn't seem much point in it. Instead, remembering from this morning where she had been assigned, she decided to appear inside Cabin 3. It had been a while since she'd last interacted with another thinking creature, sans her request for entry into the camp earlier, and so she chose to start off small, but on the right note, with the whichever of her cabin-mates happened to show up first. From her perspective, the best way to accomplish this was to startle the living daylights out of them. This goal in mind, the extraplanar entity floated a few inches off the ceiling, just inside the door, waiting to swing down face to face with the first person to walk in.

Nathaniel heaved a sigh and picked up his bags. If they weren't going to do anything, he might as well put all of his things away. He wondered what exactly Gabriel had packed for him - human clothing was still a little strange to him. Also quite puzzling was the bracelet and its powers. How exactly did they manage to keep his wings completely down? His feet were beginning to throb a little, tender from infrequent use. Nathaniel picked up the pace and began a steady jog up to Cabin Three, hardly feeling the rocks and sticks beneath his feet. Drawing closer to the cabin, he slowed down and looked back to make sure that he hadn't dropped anything. He opened the enormous door and peered inside. Not only was the cabin magnificent on the outside, it was extremely well furnished to boot. He stepped inside awkwardly, and looked around. He decided to take a little tour of the cabin, when he saw a short blonde girl in the room with him. Surprised, Nathaniel stumbled back a little. "Wha- when did you get here?

Well, that hadn't been the response that Teppie had been expecting. The surprise had been anticipated yes, but the fact that he chose to question the time of her arrival, while ignoring the fact that she was currently suspended upside-down in the air in front of him, was not. In answer, she musingly raised (or was it lowered?) a hand to her chin, almost seeming to be stroking an imaginary beard in thought. After a moment of this, the being replied with "Could you be a bit more specific? There are several applicable answers to that question as it currently stands."

Just then, a thought seemed to occur to her, and she extended a hand to the brown-haired boy in front of her. "Ah, but where are my manners? My name is Nya- Teppie. My name is Teppie. I am delighted to make your acquaintance." The interdimensional being recovered from her little verbal stumble quickly. Still, she really needed to get used to participating in conversations, or that was quite likely to happen again.

Teppie frowned as she made her way to the bonfire. That had not been as entertaining as she had hoped. Even so, she would remain optimistic, or as close to it as a being such as her could get. The bonfire might be interesting, what with that mysterious figure watching, something was bound to be up. Mind you, she couldn't actually see him in the traditional sense, her current form saw to that, but she could perceive him. Unfortunately, it would seem that he could see her, either that or someone else could, as she wasn't currently able to teleport. But, in her experience, people watching ominously from a distance usually meant that things of interest were about to occur.

As such, the extradimensional being decided that she wouldn't spoil his, and possibly her, fun by pointing him out to anyone else, or asking if it was common around these parts for people to just stand at the edge of cliffs, letting their cloaks billow about. That would be amusing though.

Instead she approached the group of campers, fellow campers, she corrected herself, lazily swinging her feet out from under her and allowing herself to drift the remaining several feet, before bringing herself to a, relative, stop with the assistance of a nearby boy's shoulder. "Much obliged." she thanked him as she began to float idly through the crowd. The lad in question seemed less than amused, but neither commented nor pursued.

And there was blue-boy, which was apparently the name that Teppie would associate with him until she knew his actual name. Possibly afterward too, assuming she didn't come up with something better first. Speaking of which, she couldn't head over there just yet. Not only because she wasn't currently drifting in that direction, and like heck she was going to exert the effort required to change direction again, or, god forbid, actually walk over, without a good reason, but also because she still hadn't thought of any original, preferably non-offensive jokes about his pigmentation.

Interrupting this train of thought, came the sudden intensification of a feeling that had been bothering her since she put on the bracelets: containment. Something was trying to contain her. Not her specifically, more likely than not, but a group that happened to contain her. This was annoying, to say the least. Whatever entertainment would be offered this night had better be worth it.

Fabian and Jordan

Fabian and Jordan had been standing around the group of campers and staff members. Jordan got her wristband and she looked like a regular, green eyed, blond haired sixteen year old girl. Jordan the walked over to her cabin to unpack and get to know the grounds until she had to leave for the bonfire that night. As she walked into the cabin, she made her way into her room, threw her bag and back pack on the bed and flopped down on the floor. She sighed and closed her eyes and proceeded to meditate for a few minutes while she had the silence.

Fabian watched Jordan get her wrist band, put it on and transform into he human self, Fabian smiled and watched her walk off to her own cabin. He sighed, got his wrist band and shifted into his, light skinned, blond hair with some brown highlights and green eyed human form. He looked around at the other campers and walked off to his own cabin as well. He walked through the door and walked into his room, he threw what some belongings of his on the bed and walked out of the cabin. He walked over to the beach and sat down near the boat house and starred at the water.

Jordan finished her mediatating and walked out of her cabin, she caught the smell of the other wolf and traced it to the boat house. She stopped and saw him sitting on a rock, looking at the water. As she studied him over some more, she ever so slightly recognized him, she smiled and softly walked up behind him. She took a deep breath and said, '' Uh, hi. You mind if I sit here with you?'' Fabian turned around and looked at Jordan, he smiled and said, '' Sure, make yourself comfortable.'' He looked back at the water and went back to his thoughts. Jordan sat down and looked around. She didn't see many campers yet, maybe they were all looking at their cabins as well. Not like she really cared, being alone was her thing, as long as there was another wolf here, she would be fine.

Jordan and Fabian had been sitting with each other for a while when they saw the sun setting, Jordan looked at Fabian and said, ''Well, we better get to that bonfire or we could get in trouble for skipping out. Wanna join me?'' Fabian looked at her and said softly, '' Sure, I'll go with you.'' He stood up and they walked together. Jordan and Fabian stayed quiet and just walked with each other until they reached the bonfire. There was already almost all of the other campers, and the staff members. Jordan and Fabian looked around and saw some others that they hadn't seen before. Jordan sighed and walked away From Fabian, she walked over to a tree and climbed up it and looked down at the others, she liked being up high, it made her feel safe so she could see everyone and not be suprissed by anything.

Fabian looked back in hoping to see Jordan, but she was gone. He traced her scent and saw her up in a tree, he smiled and just left her alone. He walked over to some of the other campers that were going to be in his cabin and said, '' So, I'm guessing we'll be cabin mates. My name's Fabian, and you guys are?'' He said as he dug hi hands into his hoodie's pockets and looks around, trying to avoid direct eye contact.
