Kato walked over to help Victoria but felt himself stop. Kato didn't know why but he could no longer walk so he made a chair and took a seat. He was still busy figuring out what to make of this new guy. Kato pulled off a piece of meat and threw it to Abu to eat. It was getting later in the day as they sat there and Kato was beginning to think it was time to eat and move. He looked over to Victoria and then to Tara and said "I think it's time we eat and move, we're burning daylight and we only have so many in a day."

"kato right about everything, espically about getting a move on" She would glare at kitsoa bringing her hair to one side and over her shoulder she gave him another glance and sighed "how long have you been following me" Victoria had changed in the time theyd talk she was much more quiet and her attitude seem to die off "Why do I bother with you sometimes kit'" she turned back to snowfall a worry looked crossed her face But quickly switched to anger when she turned to face Kitsao {You are not going to} her tail thrashed a bit carefull not to hit anyone

As Kato was finishing his sentence Abu had walked up and and got in an aggressive stance ready to pounce if the opportunity arose. He was very serious in all his remarks and was ready to put this fire bender in his place. He saw the look on Tara and Victoria's faces and it seemed as though they were shocked at how protective he was.

"You heard the lady, time to go. If she decides to return you can meet her at the border but as of now Victoria is staying with us." Kato began to calm Abu so that Kitsao wouldn't be attacked when he walked away. Kato felt he had finally done something right in his life as he sat there stroking Abu's head, he had never stood up for anyone before and now he was even risking his welfare for another, this was a large step in the right direction.

Tara was suprised at Kato's protectiveness. They had just only met and already he was standing up for Victoria. It was sweet and all, but in the end it would be a huge problem. Tara knew that eventually they'd need to go seperate ways; she had her own agenda to attend to. If they were already becoming good friends it would create problems. Tara thought back to the day she left the caravan she and her mom had been travelling with. She'd only been eleven years old and they'd been travelling for months. She had befriended a girl named Hana that was with them as well. They day they left the caravan Tara's eyes had been hot with tears. She'd had to say good-bye to so many in her lifetime that since then she'd avoided friendship. For pete's sake, she'd thought Victoria had been bonkers when they first met and that Kato was a big-mouthed jerk. Could this group really be getting closer? Only time would tell, but as of right then she needed to follow Kato's lead. She walked up to stand next to Kato, hoping that her presence seemed threatening.

Kato was now back on his feet waiting for Kitsoa to leave. He began looking around for the direction he thought to be the most advantageous for them to avoid being followed. As Kato watched Kitsoa leave he knew that that wouldn't be their last encounter. It had also become apparent that the food he had cooked was about to be eaten while on the move. It had become time to leave this waterfall not by choice but because of the danger that was bound to follow now that they had someone following them.
Kato looked to Tara now to see if he could figure out what she was thinking. All he could see is, what appeared to be a scared individual but, he knew not to judge her. "Tara," Kato began in a low whisper, "get Victoria and start moving east. I'm going to follow him about a mile with Abu and make sure he doesn't follow. I will catch up when I'm done. Don't tell Victoria just lie and tell her I going to get some berries or something. I'll catch up in about an hour." She turned to look him in the eyes. She was not going to risk saying good-bye this early. She told herself she would never get close to people again, but it was too late. She'd found people to care about, and care for them she would. She wasn't going to let him risk his life, not for her, and not for someone fully capable of handling herself.

I was asleep, curled up on the ground. I had been following the small group of benders for a while, but was terrified to step out and confront them. What if they thought I was a threat and attacked me? Even my 5 years of secret training wouldn't be enough to help me with all of them. Besides, why would they accept a small, starving Earthbender who probably wouldn't do much more than eat their food and keep them company. But then again, if I found a teacher along the way... maybe I could be helpful. Who knows. Well, I didn't. So, I dragged my small frame up off the ground, brushed off the dirt from my tunic, slung my pouch over my shoulder, and peeked out from behind the bushes I was hiding in.

Kato was ready to go, realizing that Tara Was right. He looked into the woods and figured he would go look for berries or some small game animal so they had food. "Tara...Vicotria ," Kato said so all could hear,"I'm going to look for some food so we have some when we travel. Can you two breakdown the campsite while I look. And you'll be safe with Snowfall here watching over you two." Kato was heading off to look for berries when he thought he saw something but Abu didn't react so he thought nothing of it as he began to pick berries and some edible leaves. As he got further into the woods Kato noticed foot prints. "Hey Abu, did you know that the fire bender had been following us this closely?" He paused for and answer but then remembered he can't understand animals.

Tara was relieved. Kato would be sticking around and she had made some new friends. Tara began to pack her few possessions and breakdown camp as Kato had asked, it was then that she realized just how little they had. If they were going to make it they would need some money. The only question was how? They couldn't stay in a place and get a job. Tara began to puzzle over this as she refilled her water bottle.

Kato returned and saw that Tara had broke down camp and was quite surprised. While he was out looking for food Kato found meat berries and nuts and was sure they had enough to live for a week. "Hey Tara I have some food that'll last us a week, how much did we have left?" Kato suddenly realized that Victoria had disappeared. "Tara! Where is Victoria!?" Kato was puzzled how Victoria had disappeared yet Snowfall hadn't.

Tara looked around and realized that Victoria wasn't anywhere to be seen. "Crap. I have no idea. VICTORIA!" she called. When no response came she sat down and closed her eyes. Slowly she began to focus all of her energy onto listening to the water around her. If Victoria so much as stepped in a puddle Tara would know. Kato may have yelled at her, but Tara couldn't do anything anymore. She could only hear the water, and breathe. There was so much movement of water. Rain was coming, that much she could tell. There were steps moving, but so little water was displaced that it couldn't have been Victoria. Where could she have gone? wondered Tara.

"Tara, we need to split up and look around, I'll take Abu and and go back up the road you move further up the road and see if you see her." Kato looked at her and waited for a response for minute but couldn't tell if Tara had heard him or not. "Tara? Tara!" She still didn't respond to his yelling. Kato figured he would just rely on her either hearing him or her staying where she was till he returned. "Come on Abu lets go, and they took off back the way they had come from.
