I wield the "Noblemen's Shield"
Personality: Submissive- Realistic
Mamoru Tanihara is a calm and laid-back individual. He likes to do things at his own pace. He is very tactical and likes to examine a situation before he acts or speaks on it. He is trained in the field of medicine and can perform general medical procedures for others. He likes to help others if at all possible and carries a big brother like persona, often offering wise advice to others that he comes across. Others often feel comfortable confiding in him even though he seems distant in demeanor.
Mamoru Tanihara was born and raised in Tokyo Japan, to Fujiko and Isshu Tanihara. He grew up in this wealthy family and was brought up in a very sheltered manner. He attended private schools for gifted students, but disliked many of the students there because of their elitist attitudes toward others. He grew tired of everyone assuming that they should do things for him because he was wealthy and believed to be unfit to do certain things for him. He became an overachiever to show others that he could indeed do anything he put his mind to. Because he locks himself into his tasks and hobbies, he often puts off interacting with others.
Mamoru studied medicine at Tokyo University. He graduated early and traveled to Australia for a little while. It was there that his mutant powers manifested as he shielded a cashier with his body during a robbery. His force field protected him and the cashier. He has since spent more time developing his abilities on his own.
He then moved to the United States just to experience a change of pace in life. He found work as a nurse at a hospital and began using his powers to aid in healing patients. The patients were grateful to him but the other doctors were upset with his “immoral” practices and he was ousted from his job at the hospital.
He encountered trouble when his former job sent his name to the house of mutant registration. He was hunted down by sentinels and barely made his escape from them. He was contacted via Cerebro by Charles Xavier and was invited to work at the school as the school physician. He has been a part of the mansion staff for a year. He decided to continue working at the Xavier Institute even after the passing of Pro. Charles Xavier.
