Bond Mason

Is that what you think, then?

0 · 1,145 views · located in The Nightwing

a character in “The Nightwing's Voyage”, as played by EKRonnie

Description

Bond has height, square jaw and broad shoulders, top with perfectly frazzled dark brown hair and a knowing smirk, he draws eyes wherever he goes. He has great posture and wears dark colors, but while working refuses to wear a shirt, which displays his fit body. He doesnt flaunt however.

Personality

Born to a good human family, Bond grew up with morals and wrestling brothers which has made him able to be devotingly loyal, but only to certain people. Due to troubles in his past, he knows trust must be earned. He judges people, out loud occasionally, and makes it known stupidity will not be tolerated within his range of senses. Being an engineer, he sees functionality within every aspect of life. He is also quite flirty, if the situation permits it, outcome somehow amusing to him.

Equipment

Bond carries a screwdriver with him at all times, including a small blue light.

History

Bond lived normally enough with a loving family on a space station near the Central Planets. It wasnt until his uncle ripped off the family business did Bond realize the cruelty of the universe. He took more time alone and eventually ran with a crowd of mischievous slackers, thieving and wreaking havoc for a few years. After one night when their deeds ended in the death of a sweet older lady, Bond left the station and his family behind in shame.

He then enrolled in the Intergalactic Defense Academy, likening to the workings of different ships. He was top of his class and found work on a simple DragonFly ship for a few years. When he heard Regina was hiring a crew, he jumped at the chance, remembering her from school, one year behind him. She was a good captain, at least he speculated as much from what he remembered, and he met with her, wondering if she would remember him.

So begins...

Saein wanted to say something about that “nice view” being a person with points of view of her own, and perhaps also to brag a little about having arranged to have that view when she woke up, but Bond was still talking when the captain announced they would take off soon.

"To the bridge?" Bond asked.

“Naturally.”

Saein laughed with Bond about Minn being so dedicated to kitchen work she would miss take-off for it. It was cute. “Bond is right, it’s better to see it while sitting in a chair than it is to fall over trying to clean dishes during take-off.”

On the bridge, Saein chose a seat next to the one Bond had put Minn in. Talking to everyone and nobody in particular, she commented “You know, when you’re used to moving spots meaning emotion, it’s difficult not to become religious at launch time. It’s like jumping into someone’s arms or something. Good thing She seems to like me.” It sounded like she was half serious, half making a joke. A moment later the engines produced a noise that sounded like music to her (heavy metal of course). “Nice work, Bond.” In the minimal crews back when she worked for RMEE, the mechanic and the engineer were the same person, so she knew exactly what a well-tuned engine should sound like, and she could tell Bond had improved it from well-tuned to perfect.

Next to her, Minn was scared and Bond wasn’t helping though he was trying to. Saein smiled at Minn. “After a few times, you’ll love this.” After a bit of searching through her pockets, Saein found a small black stick shaped object that she stuck between her lips. She didn’t light it or switch it on or anything like that, one simply breathed in through it. “I’d share, but it probably won’t help your nerves and I’d want to ask the doc if you’re allergic first” Saein told Minn. She had heard bad things about other species having such allergies, now wasn’t a good time to repeat them. Death probably already was on Minn’s mind anyway. Saein relaxed in her chair and enjoyed the view. She felt bad for humans not being able to drink their tea during take-off.

After a minute her fingers found a loose screw on her chair, which she immediately fastened. “Hey Minn, you know what? After a few times you’ll love take-off, but after a few hundred times a screw in a chair becomes more interesting.” She laughed at her obsessive urge to fix things. “Relax, hon. You trust Eddie, right? I trust Eddie.”

Reggie watched how Minn reacted to the take off. It wasn't for everybody, and the first one was always the worst. After a while, she would get used to it. If she didn't run off when they docked at their first stop. Which would no doubt take Saein away as well, Reggie recalled back to when the mechanic had said all she wanted was a good chef.

Sighing and shaking her head, Reggie let the slowing pressure wash over her, the feeling so comfortable and normal. She pushed off her chair, walking towards the cockpit. "Dlew, make a change in the planned route. We're stopping at the IDA first. Coordinates should be in the system already."

She spun and took a look at the crew members on the bridge with her. "MAK, what is Minn's location?"

"Just outside the bridge." MAK responded. "Dr. Lassion is with her."

"Good, maybe Cassandra can calm her down." Reggie said tapping her finger on her chin. She was tired, her knee was throbbing. She had been moving too much, too much action. It was time to take a rest.

"Colin, you're in charge. I'm retiring to my quarters for a while." Reggie explained looking to Colin. "Please, don't break my ship."

She smiled to Bond and Saein, waved goodbye to Eddie and Dlew and made her way to her quarters. Her room was on it's own floor, just above the bridge. It was large and spacious, although Reggie never knew what to fill it with. The room was a dark blue color, that immediately calmed the captain down. Her bed sat in the middle of the room on it's own platform. Reggie flopped onto it, immediately removing her tight pants.

Her knee was yellow and discolored, the replacement piece has shifted and knocked out of place. Usually, it left Reggie unable to even walk, but with the amount adrenaline that had been coursing through her most of yesterday and today, it was understandable why she would force her way through the pain.

Reggie contemplated heading down to the infirmary and having the good doctor fix her knee, but she decided against it. There was a good chance she wouldn't even make it that far before collapsing.

Grabbing her pants from the floor, she bunched it up and stuck a thick piece in her mouth, immediately clenching down on it as hard as she could. Placing her fingers in the appropriate locations, she applied pressure to the edges and pushed the cap back into place. Of course it never just snapped back into place. Often times it would get stuck, the metal piece not meant to be moved.

And the pain. The pain was greater than anything Reggie had ever felt. The pain of slipping the metal piece back into place was far greater than when Reggie originally got the injury. She screamed into the cloth as she forced herself to push the piece back into place.

Finally, she felt the cap shift and the pain cease. The captain collapsed, her jaw slacking and the pants falling into her lap. She took in deep breaths and fell back into her sheets.

"MAK!" She called. "I need a drink."

Minn

Minn, fearful of a repeat of before, was reluctant to approach Saein, guilt coursing through her faster than the blood in her arteries and veins. But the pink haired mechanic assured her it was okay, and cautiously she stepped forward. She was terrified when she lifted her hand and froze as their skin touched, but Saein broke out a smile. "Hey, that's neat..."

Eyes widening, Minn attempted to make sense of it all, but failed, not knowing precisely what caused the collapse before. But Saein was obviously all right and Minn's pink lips grinned broadly, her excitement wounding her tiny frame with bottled energy and she hurriedly hugged Saein on the stretcher, happy tears coming to her eyes. Saein, out of all the crew so far, was her favorite and she desperately wanted a friend. Nothing could happen to her.

"Are you really okay?" she asked, taking Saein's hand in both of her own as she used to do with the other girls at her last job. When a night wasnt going well, they held each others hands for strength. Suddenly a deep longing to find her 'sisters' erupted with Minn's chest, but her focus was Saein. She had to be sure she was truly okay.

Bond

Standing in the halls of the academy, Bond smiled at the uniformed portraits lightly, remembering faces, parties, girls...He did note that the headmaster had kept his word upon Bond's departure; his photo was nowhere to be found. It made him laugh a little, his name on the metal framed list beside the photos, but his face never to be acknowledged. The headmaster's logic was that Bond had lacked proper social skills because he relied on his appearance. It was true. The handful of girls in his class had each told him he was handsome, even sexy (while drunk of course) so it easily went to Bond's head back then.

"Wouldn't have it any other way," he had told the headmaster those years ago. "I'll be on my way, I suppose."

"You are a strange fellow, Bond," the headmaster replied. "One of the best our school has seen...yet you get yourself expelled three weeks before graduation?"

Bond smiled and shrugged, keeping his military stance perfect somehow in the process. By the looks on the headmaster's expression, he truly didn't want to see the boy go.

"I have a job lined up already," he assured the older man. "I'm all set. Don't worry about me."

"Worry? Who said I was worried?" the headmaster snapped, never one to reveal his true emotion. He had caved though moments later, giving Bond a hug and an encouraging pat on the back. "Perhaps we'll see you again someday."

"Perhaps," Bond had allowed.

And here he stood, no picture and on a crew with graduates from the same academy. Strange indeed, yet bond was glad as he turned and smiled to his surroundings. He had missed the place.

Alexander

Alex was hardly paying attention to the conversations going on behind him. He was too busy checking Saein's status on one of the monitors. The beds inside the infirmary were designed to check pulse, blood flow, sudden changes in temperature. They were completely state of the art. No puncturing needles, or tubes as long as a his forearm. He couldn't help but ponder how Regina managed to pay for all this.

She had inherited the ship, but how did she pay to get all of the equipment that was on board? Funding from the Council was almost impossible to get, even if they wanted to give you any.

He turned when he heard his name called. Saein was asking if there was anything wrong. He shook his head. "Everything looks fine, I think you just overestimated how your body would react to touching Minn. From your file, it seems you do that a lot." He smiled at her, to convey that he was simply joking. "I'm going to give you a little something for your headache, but I would like you to stay here for a few hours. Just so I can check everything, before sending you off again."

"You should be back to your engines and tools before we take off again." He explained. "I would just rather be safe than sorry. And everyone is welcome to stay. I'm sure you lot would be far more entertaining for Saein than me." He smiled again, giving a little chuckle.

He stepped over to Saein and carefully prepared a needle for the painkiller. He sterilized the needle and filled it with the clear liquid and carefully rubbed Saein's arm with a sterilizing wipe. He made careful sure to touch her gently, not wanting her to go into another shock. Finally, he inserted the needle and deposited it's contents into her blood stream.

"Should be kicking in shortly. Once it has, we'll go through a few more tests to make sure everything is perfectly alright." He smiled at her and threw away the needle.

Regina

Colin was being extremely quiet which concerned Reggie. He was usually a lot more talkative, at least when it was just them. Maybe the sudden nostalgia was having an affect on him. Being back at the Academy had a different effect on everyone. She just hoped he would snap out of it.

When the finally made it to the Headmaster's office, Reggie was surprised to find Bond already there. "Fancy seeing you here." She said to him. He smiled at her, laughing lightly.

"Headmaster Thomas." Reggie greeted sternly, already locking into an attentive position.

"Regina Oris. Amazing to see you wondering through my halls once again." He stepped around his desk and shook her hand. It was different from the usual interaction between Headmaster and Student. Then again, Reggie wasn't a student anymore. "How's that leg doing for you? I heard it got beat up pretty bad."

"Oh, it's holding up just fine. Could be better." She smiled. "So, I hear you have a few upcoming graduates looking for field time."

"That I do. Some field time will let these kids graduate sooner and begin fighting the good fight." The Headmaster said walking back behind the desk. "What? Do you positions available?"

Reggie smiled and immediately conveyed the mission. She didn't go into too many details not wanting to mention that she literally had no idea what would be awaiting them on this undiscovered planet. She explained things but kept most details fairly vague.

"Interesting." The Headmaster said sitting down into his chair. "I will speak with the graduates, see who is interested. The ones that wish to attend will be on your ship in two hours time. I'll send word if no one is interested."

She gave him a knowing smile. "Although, I'm sure there will at least be a handful." He added. Reggie knew what it was like to be a graduate. Any field mission, no matter how dangerous, meant early graduation and actual field time. Not many graduates got an opportunity like this; especially since most field missions cost money. And a lot of it. Reggie was offering a free shot at graduation.

And, although the risk of death was high, most graduates would give that away just to say they had some sort of field time. Most recent graduates were thrust onto a station until a war broke out or a mission came up. Some would die long before they would ever get a shot at being on an actual ship. At least if they died on the Nightwing, they could die a true soldier. Although, Reggie would do her best to make sure all came back alive.

"Thank you Headmaster," Reggie said saluting the man. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have an android to operate on."

Minn

Eyes wide, Minn tried to come up with words in reaction to the teeth she saw from Saein. Just full of surprises she was, but Eddie responded first thankfully. Minn leaned away from the pink haired girl a little, not touching her any longer and staring probably too much. But Saein changed the subject briskly and Minn calmed slightly, thinking about the question.

"I don't," she admitted truthfully. "Never was allowed to learn. Though it would have come in handy back..." She cut off, not wanting to divulge too much about her past. "But I'll learn," she promised with a small smile. "As best as I can at least. Could probably have our weapon's gal get something small for me. Right?"

She tried to keep her tone lighthearted, but she still refused to touch Saein now.

Bond

Making his way back to the ship, Bond came across another crew member. The weapons engineer if he was correct in his memories. He approached with a friendly smile and wave. "Did you go here?" he asked her, trying to remember her name. "Arc right?"

He stood with her, knowing he would like to get to know the person responsible for their weapons, even if he wasn't going to be the one out in the field unless needed.

Motioning to the student portraits, he added, "I don't see your face...but you don't see mine either. Though I doubt yours was removed. They need all the pretty lady pictures they can get. For funding and such. Diversity, woo."

"Did you go here? Arc right?" Arc looked up to see one of her crew mates had approached while she was daydreaming. She smiled lightly up at hi. "Yeah, Arc. And you're... Bond. The Engineer?" Arcs said, somehow managing to pull off a statement and a question simultaneously in the one. "Hopefully it will be nice to meet you," she continued lightly.

"I don't see your face...but you don't see mine either. Though I doubt yours was removed. They need all the pretty lady pictures they can get. For funding and such. Diversity, woo." He continued, Arc just shook her head lightly, had he actually referred to her as pretty. "Diversity rocks your socks." She countered lightly laughing slightly before turning back to him and continuing. "But no, I didn't actually go here. I wanted to, some misguided childhood dream of mine I guess. i was actually accepted to attend here a little while ago, but I know of... Changed my mind I suppose." Arc stopped talking when she realized she had accidentally kind of kept talking. "What was it like? going here I mean," Arc continued after a moment trying to shift the conversation topic away from her.

After a moment though her eyes sprung back up to face his, "Wait why was your picture removed?" She asked curiously when she finally registered everything her had said earlier.

Minn

She understood that perhaps Saein had just had an overreaction, but Minn still felt uncomfortable. After the droid rushed out, she watched the door, again remembering the dishes that had to be done. Eddie was speaking about weapons, but she heard barely anything. In a daze, she stood up and nodded to each of them in turn. "I have to do dishes..." was her only explanation for leaving the infirmary.

A soft, coiling dark feeling was erupting inside of her, one she cared little for and had her eyes brimming with sudden tears. She didn't understand at first, but couldn't keep walking. Leaning against a wall just down the corridor, she tried to stand straight, but failed and collapsed to her knees. Chest heaving, she cried, hands covering her mouth.

Affections may be innocent on the outside, but Minn knew the deeper, carnal origin of attraction. A painful desire within each being born of the biological need to reproduce, but twisted with the selfishness of consciousness. She had experienced horrors because of such. Glancing down herself, she knew her clothing helped little. So, with renewed panic, she rushed around the halls of the ship, finding cloth and sooty materials. Shaking, she tugged off her clothes and wrapped the itchy sheet around her, tying it tight with ropes. She wiped grease and soot along her skin, feeling better by the second. If she wasn't pretty, then no one would be attracted to her or think her cute. And no one would touch her.

She backed into a wall, tears forming again at the realization of what she was doing. But she couldn't do it anymore. Not again. She had escaped that life. No more hot fingers pressing into her bones, no more harsh laughter, no more bloated, disgusting pigs trying to claim her again and again.

Curling into the corner, she sniffled and laid down, a tiny bundle of nightmarish memories. Saein had looked at her in a similar way...Eddie had...She almost saw it in the doctor's eyes. It was never unnoticed by her, the threat.

Fingers curled in her long locks, she closed her eyes and shivered slightly on the cold tile. She had to calm down. She knew that. Freaking out led to nowhere. But that would take awhile. For now, she just simply had to remain in one place. For as long as it took.

Bond

Bond laughed. "My picture was removed because I was a teenage idiot. Like most. It didn't matter though. The headmaster still allowed me to graduate so my credentials were intact. But no one will ever see my face. Only a name."

It suited him fine, his role within the engine room anyway. Surely no one would need to see his face. But he smiled to Arc toothily, continuing. "It was fun here. Difficult at times. Hellish. But fun. In its torturous way."

"Think we should head back yet?" he asked then, glancing around as if some sort of sign would indicate they were needed on the ship. "I'd love to see where you work on board." He offered an arm to her in an overly dramatic gentlemanly way. It was meant to be funny, and he hoped she took it as such.

"My picture was removed because I was a teenage idiot. Like most. It didn't matter though. The headmaster still allowed me to graduate so my credentials were intact. But no one will ever see my face. Only a name." Arc laughed lightly with Bond and his words, of course she was pretty much the devil's advocate when it came to idiot teenage years. Awhile after her father had died, there was a time when she went of with a girl for two months for cheap rent rates. There was also another time that was similar to that, except it was a guy and free rent. Thinking back on some of the stuff she had done while living without a permanent residence Arc was suer her father was turning over in his grave. "Sounds like you had your worth of fun from this place. And don't worry I'm hardly the one to judge on wild teenage years." Arc replied dreamily her head still thinking over the events of the past.

"Think we should head back yet? I'd love to see where you work on board." Arc frowned slightly as Bond looked around before it hit her. She had totally forgotten that the Nightwing would probably be leaving soon, without them if they weren't on board. Before Arc could respond though he offered her his arm in a dramatically over the top kind of mock gentlemanly way and she couldn't help but laugh. "As long as your intention are honorable kind sir." She replied mock curtseying before she took his offered arm and led them both back to the ship. "So how did you end up on the Nightwing?" Arc asked casually to Bond as the made their way back to the ship.

Bond

"Just sorta happened," he responded, leading them back to the Nightwing. He noticed a line of bodies heading to the kitchen and he curiously pondered following them. Continuing to speak to Arc he said, "I knew Reg from school. I'm an engineer. Stuff happens...do you know who all these folks are?"

Not only were humans amongst them, but aliens too. When had the Academy started that? He could tell from their attire they were most likely recruits, freshly graduated. Bond smiled, thoughts swirling in his mind about pranks and the like.

"I know we were going to see your setup but...any interest in messing with the newbies?" He grinned sideways down to her.

Arc thought for a moment about Bond's proposal, well she pretended to think about. She wasn't exactly in the habit of thinking out the effects of her actions, just another thing that she never quite grew out of. She grinned brightly up at Bond. "I wasn't in any particular rush to get back to my work space. But of course that depends on what you are proposing." She said smiling cheekily and wiggling her eyebrows like an idiot for emphasis. There was no way she would be against the idea of messing with this seemingly never ending line of recruits. Besides there was no way it wasn't going to be fun. though she did have to wonder what exactly Bond had planned. Arc was never one that was good with creating plans.

#, as written by Centi85
Dedrik followed the crowd as the were lead away. The ship was gorgeous on the inside, and though normally he didn't care about aesthetics, he didn't mind. The fact that the interior was so well designed as far as he could tell was simply another luxury that'd make the job a little more pleasurable.

He continued on, being trained from such a young age and having had the proper way to carry yourself no matter what you're doing engrained him in, he held the his powerstaff diagonally across his chest, one hand clasped around the shaft just at his waist, the other near his shoulder. His boots tapped rhythmically off the floor, mixed into the other recruit's steps. Being also highly attuned to the things around him, Dedrik also noted several people joining into their line who weren't recruits, most likely being already part of the established crew he concluded. He payed no further attention the humans.

They arrived in the kitchen moments later, the large number of recruits having to take a moment to arrange themselves in the space. Dedrik's golden eyes flicked back and forth, taking in every detail of his surroundings. His gaze fell on those already present and wasn't too surprised to find they were also of varying races. Dedrik dug into his memory, searching out the correct names as he looked to them. There was a pink girl, totally pink, he took a moment before the term Shariva appeared in his brain before looking to the other woman, a Firni. His head tilted just slightly as he looked her over, using the tell-tale freckles upon her face to find the proper name for her species. There was an android, the tattoo upon his wrist giving it away as clear as the others, and what appeared to be another human male. It seemed all were enjoying some dessert known as cookies. Dedrik had never had the luxury of eating these, himself preferring a tough meat over anything sweet and he looked over slightly as the Captain appeared.

Dedrik remained silent as he waited for something further to happen. He had no quarrel with standing at attention all day and night, but did detest frivolous things such as this. All he needed was an order and he'd be satisfied. No matter what it was, it would be done.

Bond

Grinning from ear to ear, Bond easily pocketed his screwdriver and turned a bit to conceal what he showed Arc. Four tiny pellets lay in his palm, oval shaped, all brown in color and unmarked. They sort of looked like pills, but they were anything but.

"I call these, my BB's," he introduced in a soft voice. Picking one up, he showed her the size and simplicity up close. "What does BB stand for you ask? Beauty Bombs."

They followed the recruits into the kitchen, Bond noting just how many people were now packed within the space. Could his window of opportunity be any more perfect? Still grinning like a child, he handed Arc two of the brow tablets gently, closing her fingers around them and leaning toward her with a whisper. "On my signal...throw...then run back to the door. Okay? Your face does not need anymore beauty. Trust me." With a wink and an encouraging pat to the arm, he crossed the kitchen to where the Captain stood.

"Evening, Reggie," he greeted, making sure the recruits heard him use her nickname. He made sure Colin heard too. "How's it goin? All grand in Captain's land?"

He turned to Eddie and Saein then, chuckling a little and snatching a cookie from the plate before nibbling on the edge. "Quite the crowd in here, huh?"

Then he faced Minn, feeling only slightly bad for what he was about to do. The girl showed such pride in her cooking and her assigned kitchen area. But he couldn't give this up. How did the old ones used to say it? The phrase was ridiculed in modern texts, Americans of earth being quite pompous and obnoxious. Bond found the phrase amusing though and it fit perfectly, well, semi-perfectly here.

If he didn't take this opportunity, then the terrorists win.

He caught Arc's eye from across the room as he backed away to the opposite door. All he gave was a nod, a quick gesture, a twitch of the neck. She understood. Simultaneously they tossed their tablets into the center of the room, both scurrying to their respective doors to take appropriate cover. Bond laughed loudly, hoping Arc found safety.

The tablets tumbled through the air, two hitting the floor, one on the counter and one on the shoulder ofone of the recruits. Upon impact, the BB's went off.

The popping was sharp and quick, painful too for anyone near, though no one took notice of the noise or pain. The bombs exploded, as bombs do, in a fit of colorful dust, purple particles shooting into the air with green and blues, the dust becoming a fog and then smoke, encompassing them all in clouds of beautful colors and fits of coughs.

Bond couldn't stop laughing. He hadn't used a BB as a prank for years, since his expulsion really. He had used them on missions to distract enemies, but this...this was perfect.

He could not wait to see everyone's reactions.

"Quite the crowd in here, huh?"

There was something about the way Bond had spoke that sentence that just set off alarms in Eddie's head. They said, "Watch out, something's about to happen!" but he couldn't exactly predict what. It wasn't like he even knew Bond, but the facial expression he had could be described as 'Mischievious'. Bond retreated to a door and gave a nod to Arc. Eddie simply sighed and turned to Minn, to ignore the childish actions that were being displayed by Bond. Of course, that also ended up preventing Ackers to see exactly what they did. Maybe he could give Bond the benefit of the doubt, had he claimed he didn't know that Eddie was in a military, but it was a foolish move to begin with, and Eddie's reaction, his slip-up in composure would surely prove that he was a capable soldier, regardless of how he acted when in a casual situation.

Thankfully, there was a distinct difference in something dropping, and something exploding, as the second the loud noise shot through the air, Eddie's hand dropped down to his side as he twisted his body and drew his sidearm, firing multiple times at the BB in an almost routine fashion. Maybe the Captain would realize this habit, having the same military training as he himself had. Jumpin' Jax, the nickname given to an explosive that doubled as both a flash bang and a claymore were what this move was made for. Usually thrown into a crowded space-just like this one-, it would stun people before popping up in the air and releasing a hail of bullets in a 360 degree radius, very effective except that it stunned people BEFORE it detonated, which is why Eddie was able to shoot it so quickly. That was the plan: Destroy it before it kills you.

When Eddie's eyes shifted from combat mode, as in they didn't give off an intimidating feeling that seemed unusual of the pilot, he was pissed nonetheless. He could've possibly shot someone due to that prank, and after all, friendly fire isn't. He waved his arm in front of his face, trying to shoo the colored smoke away before coughing out a response. "Who-*COUGH*-Who the hell did that?!" he yelled.

Dlew looked around warily at all the people filling the room. Obviously these were new recruits as each were in uniform, and because collecting them was the only reason the ship was here in the first place. He hoped though that they would be nice to him, or at least show any sort of kindness instead of the usual cold shoulder he received. The android waited patiently, watching as nothing really happened for the first few moments. He noted Bond and Arc enter behind the crowd, as well as the doctor but didn’t pay any more attention otherwise.

Suddenly an explosion occurred in the room that set everyone into a shock. A huge cloud of colorful smoke filled the room, following a pop and Dlew just caught side of Bond ducking out one door. Dlew was on the floor with the sudden excitement, his only thoughts being that of the ship under attack as he heard several shots get fired off.

When the smoke finally cleared Dlew remained in his position on the floor, shaking slightly. It took a moment for him to realize everything had settled and slowly he uncurled himself and rose to his feet. Looking around he also then realized that it was nothing more than a prank. Dlew shakily took his seat, his mind still racing as to who had just done this. It seemed Eddie was wondering the same thing as he called out most likely everyone’s thoughts. The android switched topics now, deciding it better to think about finishing the picture of Saein and Eddie while the image was still fresh. Perhaps he’d do that.

Dedrik had watched with mild interest as one of the supposed crew members spoke to another, a girl. Both were human and his eyes were locked on them, watching sideways as he handed her something before making his way to a second door. Dedrik was trained to find any sort of suspicious actions like this and take it seriously. His hand tightened on the shaft of his staff as the man spoke nonchalantly to the Captain, addressing her informally in the process. He was either joking, or showing serious disrespect, and no doubt whatever he was planning would only further hurt his current position. Dedrik was ready to move at a moments notice.

Suddenly the man threw something. A loud pop was audible as one of the odd projectiles bounced off a shoulder of a recruit. Dedrik didn't catch where the other impacted. A thick cloud of colorful smoke, more than he'd expected, poured from the tiny pellets and quickly overtook the room, the expanse of it encompassing nearly everything and everyone inside. Dedrik under normal circumstances would've taken this act lightly, sensing that the gas meant no harm and it was most likely a prank against new recruits, but then shots rang out.

Immediately the Vasparti was moving, shoving his way past the other recruits as a few instinctively dove to the ground. He pinpointed the source of the shots, a man seeming to be shooting wildly through the smoke, most likely unsure of what he was even doing. Dedrik's golden eyes shone through the thick gas, attuned to seeing in tough conditions. The man had ignited his staff, the metal pole crackling and sparking with energy as it took on a blue glow, every second bringing him that much closer to the man. Something stopped him though, Dedrik saw it in his eyes, a transition from battle mode to a confused, more irritated state. He expected nothing less, but his own training had kicked in and he felt as if he knew the feeling of the man before him, acting simply out of reflex. Dedrik subdued himself and allowed his staff to cease its collection of power, stepping backwards into the line of cadets again as the man spoke.

"Who--Who the hell did that?!"

The firer's words were interupted by a cough as he waved an arm in front of him, the action a vain attempt to clear the smoke from his face. Dedrik glanced around now, seeking out the door through which he'd seen the prankster disappear through. He felt no need to speak as of now, but if it so happened that this little outburst was more than a joke in any means, he'd be sure to inform the appropriate person.

“Genetic alteration? That’s way more complicated. I mean stem cells. Of course you can only have girls that way which is why...”

She was interrupted by Bond talking to them after having greeted the captain in an insolent way. “Quite the crowd in here, huh?”

Saein nodded. There was quite a crowd, and an unusual one too. There even was an Exburnan, there was something special about those. What was it again? She couldn’t remember. Oh, that was it. She wondered what would happen when that guy would read Minn’s memories, and if she should do something about it. Saein didn’t get a chance to think about that, she was taken out of her thoughts by the small explosions. Eddie immediately started shooting at something, which only added to her surprise. What had just happened?

“Who-*COUGH*-Who the hell did that?!” Eddie yelled. Someone near or behind the door was laughing. They had been pranked.

“*COUGH*-Someone-*COUGH*-stupid enough-*COUGH*COUGH*-to come back-*COUGH*-to watch” she replied. Angry, she got up and made her way through the coughing crowd. Once she had found the laughing person, she switched on her gun behind her back, and set it to “flash”. This setting was meant to blind opponents, and should generally not be used in front of innocent bystanders. It also was the only setting meant to be used with eyes firmly closed. Her left hand opened the empty tin of candy in her pocket, took out the bottom half and aimed that at the laugher - she could now see it was Bond. Pointing her gun into the tin, she shouted “BOND! SAY CHEESE!”

She did not pull the trigger. That would be foolish. With all that smoke reflecting the flash, the tin would do nothing to protect the eyes of the crowd, and risking damage to the eyes of the engineer was a bad idea too. All she needed was him covering his eyes for a moment, or him running away.

An unexpected last cough made Saein twitch. Fortunately the tin didn’t act like a mirror like she would have expected, but absorbed most of the light. No harm done, but it did throw her off her plan to kick him in the groin while he was covering his eyes. This was Bond, who she liked, not some fresh recruit who thought he was funny. Well, he did think he was funny, but that was besides the point.

Pretending she had meant to do exactly what happened, Saein told Bond “Thought you might like some coloured spots to go with your smoke. You are going to clean up the mess once you can see it again, right?” She switched off the gun before anymore accidents could happen, and put it away. “Well, that wasn’t very smart of you, was it?”

Bond

He chuckled, shaking his head. "Actually...I thought it was brilliant," he commented, straightening up and flashing a grin in Saein's general direction. He couldn't quite see straight yet. "I'll clean it, don't worry. But it was totally funny. I mean...c'mon. Look at them."

With the dust clearing, he gestured to the recruits and the crew mates, some pissed, others simply confused, or Minn cowering by the cupboards. Another twinge of guilt sprang in his chest, but he shook it off easily, grinning to the pink haired mechanic. "You cannot tell me that this was dumb. It was perfect! No one expected it, now they're all zombiefied and confused." He couldn't stop laughing from everyone's dazed expressions.

Bond

Saein was angry, but it only amused Bond more as she stomped away. Like she cared what Reggie thought. She probably thought it was just as hilarious. Maybe he was being a bit unreasonable, but he sure didn't feel like it.

He saw Arc on the other side, waving and wondering what she thought of the stunt.

Minn

Once the dust settled, Minn slowly stood up, grip on her wooden spoon still tight between her two hands, but out of anger now. Just the sight of the purple dusted, now ruined, cookies made her tiny frame shiver with frustration. She glared to all the faces around her, just needing to be alone and clean this mess. Prank? Yeah, nice. She shook her head, squeaking a little to release some tension.

Roughly tossing the wooden spoon in the sink, she snatched a dust covered rag and doused it with water before turning back to the island and scrubbing the dust particles away. "It's not funny," she breathed, hearing laughter somewhere. "Ruined...I don't have money to replace these ingredients...wasteful...I can't..." Words no longer could form on her tight lips, so she focused on cleansing her work area, the dust from her own body and hair making the job difficult as she kept sprinkling more down where she already wiped. But she simply redid those areas. She didn't care. When she was this angry, she needed a release.

God, who knew not having sex for so long could build up so much tension in you?

Realizing this was probably the cause for her irrational frustration, she sighed and closed her eyes, gripping the edge of the counter. She just needed to breathe. She had promised to leave that life behind, she had promised her 'sisters'. She didn't need it anymore, the soft caresses, firm kisses and hungry devotion...the heat...the spikes of internal drum beats...careful climbing...

"Ergh!" she squeaked and continued cleaning. No. No sex.

Eddie stood still once the culprit had been revealed. He didn't move, nor did he say anything else, and instead looked at Bond with a deadly glare after he had noticed the cookies were no longer edible due to the bomb. They weren't even cookies for everyone, they were Minn's and she didn't even get to eat them. This.... it really pissed Eddie off, really. Maybe he was being just a bit irrational, and maybe others would see this as a bit overkill as a response, but he did it anyways. As Saein stormed away from him, Eddie stormed up to him and placed the barrel of his gun to Bond's neck. There was a slight pause as his finger tightened around the trigger, eventually pulling it all the way back but instead of the man's brains being splattered all over the ceiling, there was a click. Mentally, Eddie sighed because he was 90% sure by just the weight alone that it was empty, but he was completely and absolutely sure. That......would've been pretty bad if he was off, but that just made his glare all the more believable when he falsely threatened the man's life.

Sighing noticably, he spoke up. "You know.... I'm all for pranks and shit, but not only did I almost just shoot someone, you ruined some good cookies," Eddie was still irritated, this much could be gathered from his tone, but he wasn't as pissed as before, seeing nobody harmed helped him calm down almost completely. "Do it again and you'll be limping for a while," the oddest tinge of regret shot through him as he realized that a certain Captain was already doing that. He hoped she wouldn't take offense.

Ackers then turned to find Minn in a rather upset disposition. It wasn't hard to notice, and she appeared to be mumbling to herself. Was she really that mad due to the prank? Ah, it did ruin her cookies..... he would be mad too, after spending so much time and not even getting to really have any. Eddie walked up to her holstering his weapon, but as he did so, he noticed somehting. THERE WAS A COOKIE IN HIS POCKET! Oh, now he remembered! There was a reason why he was told he was good with his hands.....non-sexually....though there was this one time in training.........

Eddie retrieved the unspoiled cookie and offered it to Minn, believing that she was upset due to not being able to have any. He smiled rather warmly as well, hoping this would cheer her up. "Minn, would you like this? Also, I hope my trigger-happiness didn't frighten you too much, and if it did I am sorry,"
