Eddie Ackers

"Is it really that hard to understand? I mean, Imagine a turd spinning around in a toilet; THAT'S what we're going to look like if I make even one mistake."

a character in “The Nightwing's Voyage”, as played by FamishedPants

Description

Image

Eddie can usually be seen wearing a black jacket with a black undershirt beneath it and jeans for his lower half. All of which appear to be just his size. It is rare to see him wear anything else unless he is forced to, so people who know him usually don't expect much else.

The man's hair used to be dirty blonde, but has darkened to a brown, possibly from being dyed. He is gifted with sky blue eyes and a good complexion. He looks bigger than one would expect a pilot to be, with some definition in his arms and a six-pack hiding underneath his shirt. However, to say he is 'ripped' would be a lie, and you wouldn't know he's anything but 'big-boned' unless he's wearing a tight shirt or lacking one at all. He stands at a height of about 5'11" and weighs around 175 lbs due to muscle weight, giving him an intimidating appearance only to weaker people.

Personality

Sarcastic, loyal and kind are what most would use to describe Eddie. While in organized militaries, some dislike his sarcasm, they can't deny his piloting prowress. He occasionally lets you know that he is in fact one of the best pilots in possibly the universe...and at a younger age too. He's never one to be serious unless the situation demands it, such as the ship he's piloting being shot at or something of that importance, and can usually be expected to joke.

As a favor for most of the people he's talked to with neigh piloting slang experience, he dulls down his speech. What was once a elaborate speech on how the engines have lost their ability to draw in light and use it to propel them forward, is now "Our engines are disabled." So in other words, he speaks English.

Although he is usually seen cracking a joke and overall just being funny, he is known to be concerned and caring. Whether it is because some alien kid just lost their family due to friendly fire or because of a species treatment of its own due to something small like being born (think of Shariva's attitude towards females, which is one of his softer spots)

He dislikes racism, cowardice and threats towards those he deems as friends or crewmembers and won't hesitate to back them up, even if they don't have the best of dispositions towards each other. This holds especially true to female crew members or ones who don't seem to be able to defend themselves. Eddie can be known to act chilvarous and does NOT allow harmful and aggressive actions towards his crew, females and especially his female crewmembers go without punishment. Also happens to be on of the few times you can see him in an angry demeanor.

If you want to get on his good side, you can either accept his sense of humor and try to get him to laugh genuinely, make good food for him (IDA didn't have the best rations...), or you can TRY to beat him in a game. He is a gamer when he isn't piloting a ship or working out. Overall, just be nice and funny and he won't have the slightest problem with you.

Eddie suffers from an INTENSE dislike, no... hate for Artificial Intelligence. Ever since he lost his friends due to one, he's dispised them greatly, and gets aggressive nearly instantly with them. Needless to say, Eddie doesn't harbor any good feelings towards androids or other robotic 'nuisances' either. He could care less about them.

Finally, Eddie has been seen with symptoms of both PTSD and depression most likely due to his past losses. He often has nightmares about the time his ship was attacked and he had lost his friends and this leads him to feel very down and unhappy. He tries to make sure not to bother others with it, though it does get to the point where putting on a fake smile becomes impossible and therefore he cannot hide it.

Sidenote: Eddie, because of human evolution, can become very aroused, strawberries seemingly a trigger to a gun you don't want to pull.

Equipment

The Modicar "Adaptive Warfare Pistol" or AWB is Eddie's sidearm of choice. It is basically a small railgun that can in fact be adjusted to shoot anything metallic, given it is small enough. It has its own ammo, which is more effective than picking something up and using it, but he can use coins and other smaller items with deadly stopping power.

History

At the ripe, young age of sixteen, Eddie applied for the New Gaiyain Pilot's Corp and passed with flying colors. After that, well... He took up a job offered in the Intergalactic Defense Academy where he learned his share of combat skills and further improved his reputation as a pilot. When he was 24, he saved not only himself, but his ship and crew when they took disabling fire to their ship. The captain at the time had been knocked unconcious during the first attack and the person to take up his position were killed.

It was only a little while later that they were attacked by a rogue A.I that had commandeered assualt-class mechs and automated ships. The attack was very severe and Eddie not only lost every single one of his best friends, he lost his captain, with whom he shared a great friendship with. But that wasn't all. Because of that attack, Eddie dispises any form of Robotic Intelligence and is aggressive to the point of acting much out of character when faced with much exposure to them. On top of that, he suffers from nightmares that make him relive those last moments with his deceased friends and crewmates, to the point where he gets very, very depressed or even frightened for a bit.

So begins...

Eddie glanced over to the android, who seemed to be near death. He felt kinda bad but... he was going to dine first. He called it and he'd make sure of it. Smiling as he turned to Minn, he spoke. "So you two girls are actually roomies no-" a familiar and dirty thought crossed his mind when he spoke and a blush overtook his face for a second. He shook the thought out of his head. "...you guys are becoming roomies? That was really nice of you, Saein," he praised.

"I'm afraid I'll be sleeping alone... wouldn't want to accidently kick the doctor in my sleep or anything if he's going to be working on lives," he laughed. "As a gentleman, I must tell you that you are free to use my room if you girls have an argument or something like that. I hope not, seeing as we're confined in the ship with you, but it does happen sometimes, and I'd much rather sleep in the barracks than listen to two ladies fight," he explained.

"But! That we can worry about later! Right now..." he mouth started watering. "My nose is in heaven.... this waiting is killing me....."

Regina

Shortly after she had stood, Reggie had backed up only to hit something hard and fall to the floor. She looked up to see Cassandra staring down at her. The Xylamar was smiling down at the captain, and with a laugh helped her up.

"So sorry, Regina. I'm getting too interested in my job."

Feeling her knee pop beneath her as she was raised to her feet, Reggie held back a grimace and smiled at her. "Oh, it's alright. Glad to see everyone is enjoying themselves. Some a little more than others."

She eyed certain members of her crew with a knowing smile. She had no problem with relationships forming under her command, it was when their work lacked because of it that made Reggie frustrated. As long as they kept performing as they have been, she would have no problem.

Brushing some dust off her black pants, Reggie counted heads. A habit she had come into doing when she was leading a large group. In her position, she found it best to constantly keep track of everyone, especially when she was putting their lives on the line.

They were working for her, without any real knowledge of what their voyage was leading them to; the least she could do was keep them alive. They were still missing a few people. Colin, Bond, Cassiopeia, and Inqueta.

"Where could they be."

Alexander

Alex tapped his foot nervously, glancing from left to right, observing the members of the crew. Except the chef, he had observed her enough. He listened to everyone, wanting to chime in with a funny quip or a witty remark, but he couldn't bring himself to do so. He was a nervous wreck trying to decide if they would find him funny or not.

He was told he was quite funny, but it was never really intentional. The words always stumbled out of his mouth when he was nervous, trying to ease himself into uncomfortable situations. It was only when he was really comfortable with people that he could be his sophisticated, suave self. He didn't really think of himself as suave, but he was told by friends that he was.

The food was starting to smell even more delicious, and Alex was ecstatic to eat. He noticed Regina counting heads, probably looking for the rest of her crew. Alex had briefly seen the others when Regina had flown them up to the ship, but he had yet to speak to most of them. He was eager to meet them, but couldn't help but feel his nervous twitch come back.

Dlew had heard something about room mates and wondered if he would get a room or would he sleep on a floor some where like the previous ship he was on. Thinking about sleep was making Dlew get even more tired and Was starting to nod off trying to fight the battle between hunger and conchiness. Dlew was just slipping and started to hang his head down until he droped his head on the table with a loud BANG! and fell asleep then about 20 - 30 minutes he woke back up.

Dlew then woke up screeming and panting then looked around the room to notice every one looking at him with compleate curiosity and then Dlew stood up and moved to a corner of the room and started drawing away from every one. He was not looking at anyone just sitting in the corner drawing.

"Remember to do everything the doctor says because I can tell you that having health complications while stuck on a ship will not be fun" Eddie warned her.

Saein agreed, but jokingly pointed out “It’s even worse to disobey the cook, dieing of hunger is one of the worst ways to go. Of course nobody is going to be mean to Minn, this kitchen smells like we could start a new religion.” Thinking about her own joke, she added “Actually, we’re all trusting each other with our lives in some way or another.”

Because of the sound of everyone talking to each other, she didn’t quite catch what Eddie whispered to Minn, something about the doctor. A glance at Alex told her it was probably about him looking at Minn and blushing. Right there was someone else whose job she wouldn’t have wanted back in her wild days. But perhaps he had different ethics, and as long as he didn’t try to apply those to her or someone else who wasn’t interested, that was fine.

Thinking about the doctor reminded her of something. She had to make sure he got her complete files. RMEE, the company she had worked for for the longest time, took great care to keep medical information from going anywhere automatically. The rest of the world didn’t need to know the management told employees to ignore health and safety laws when their own judgment told them to. Saein remembered a few situations in which she or someone else could have died if she had strictly obeyed the law. An outsider might say the risks that led to those situations should never have been taken, but she disagreed. Maybe the few friends who had left RMEE in boxes would agree now, except they couldn’t.

Minn brought Saein’s thoughts back to something much happier: "Sure," she said with a sweet smile. "I'll room with you. Never had my own room before anyway. Would probably get lonely." Saein’s heart jumped. “Great!” she exclaimed.

Eddie blushed while talking about the two women sharing a room. Saein had a good idea what he might be thinking about, but before she thought of a way to tease him with that, he praised her for sharing her room. She chuckled and told him “It’s not as selfless as you might think.”

He joked about kicking the doctor in his sleep. “Funny you should mention that, I have thought about what might happen if I got kicked in my sleep. I’ve dreamed my pillow was a person and didn’t wake up freaking out because of it, so I think I can be touched when I’m not awake.”

Eddie offered the use of his room if there would ever be an argument. “That’s very kind of you, but if anything happens I’ll let Minn and you have rooms. It doesn’t matter if it’s because of me being wrong about what I just told you, or because of me being wrong because Minn says so” she joked.

Dlew interrupted all conversations at once by falling over. Saein hoped he wasn’t broken, just in need of food, and that that food would be ready when he recovered. Although she wasn’t starving like Dlew, she could hardly wait to eat. If the food tasted as good as it smelled (and she had no doubt it would), she would also have a lot of fun praising Minn. She felt so very happy about how everything was turning out, about all the people around her, and about the food (soon!), however being a bit worried about Dlew she wasn’t sure her big smile was appropriate.

Minn

A few minutes later, the food was ready.

Eddie was first to be served as promised, then Minn dished out more plates and bowls, finding glasses and twelve different kinds of canned juices for beverages. She wondered if anyone would want alcohol, but inwardly despised the idea since they were trying to run a ship and all. So she didn't suggest it. Once everyone had a plate, even those who were not present yet, she stood with her hands behind her back and nose tingling with excitement as she smiled to Eddie.

"Well?" she asked.

Bond

The room was satisfactory, a bit big, but hardly anything to complain about. Roaming the corridors, he knew he had been called to the kitchen, but shrugged it off. He was sure the pink haired girl's cooking was great, but he wasn't hungry. In fact, he found himself back at the engine after a few rounds through random hallways and rooms. The whirring was music and he sat down, smiling to the cylinder with adoration.

"If only we all could run so efficiently," he sighed, tapping at his chest and then his forehead once. It had been a salute on one of his last ships, a symbol that he had been among friends and those he trusted. Most were dead now.

He tinkered with his screwdriver in hand, muttering about parts and gears, simply living in a separate world in his mind.

“It’s even worse to disobey the cook, dieing of hunger is one of the worst ways to go. Of course nobody is going to be mean to Minn, this kitchen smells like we could start a new religion.”

Eddie nodded seriously and then, with a smile, spoke. "You're right there." he said. "On both occasions too," he went to say something but Saein cut him off before he could do so.

"Actually, we're all trusting each other with our lives in some way or another,"

He smiled at the statement before sitting back in his chair and speaking. "Yeah... Well, you shouldn't have to worry about me. I promised not to get us all killed," he said. "I would be kinda sad if I killed everyone on this ship... especially if it was something dumb like running into a star or something," he said. He let out a small laugh.

“Funny you should mention that, I have thought about what might happen if I got kicked in my sleep. I’ve dreamed my pillow was a person and didn’t wake up freaking out because of it, so I think I can be touched when I’m not awake.”

Eddie went to open his mouth to speak, but ended up being unable to do so. The statement more or less caught him offguard. Eventually, he pushed the confusion out of the way of his mouth and mustered a few words. "That's.... interesting to know...." he said unsurely. "I wasn't aware that you wanted to be touched in your sleep...."

He listened to Saein decline his offer for his room had they ever been in an argument. While right now he didn't say anything, he would heavily insist on one of them stealing his room until they cooled down if nothing but to help it blow over and not be a big problem. So, he simply shrugged until he heard some commotion from their android buddy, who seemed to be nearing Death's door by the second. Almost made it look like the robot was as eager as he was for the food. He wasn't.

When Minn got up and delivered his plate to him, his eyes nearly teared up at the beautiful meal before him. He almost cried at the sight, but wasted no time picking up his utensils and digging into the food with a passion. He was overjoyed that the meal turned out to taste even better than it had smelled, and his face reflected this as his impaled pieces of the feast on the fork and promptly guided it to his mouth before chewing and grinding it with his teeth. He finished the food in his mouth before answering Minn, who was obviously eager to see his opinion on her food.

He smiled. "I was wrong when I said your food would be good....." he began. "...It isn't good.... it's great....."

Minn

"Really!" she cried happily and hurriedly hugged Eddie tightly, relieved and more relaxed now. His words were like liquid butter flowing over her and smoothing the tenseness in her body. She spun about and waved for everyone to start eating. "Where are the others? They need to taste too!"

She plopped down across from Saein, smiling broadly. "What do you think?"

Bond

Finally he found the kitchen. He decided he didn't want to get on Reggie's bad side, so he loped over to her with a small smile. "So, our cook having fun?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at the energetic pink alien. He laughed a little as she began nearly dancing. "She must really like her food."

Noticing the other plates set aside, he grabbed one and stuck a piece of pork with his fork before gobbling it down in only a few bites. It was heavenly and he grinned to Reggie, mouth a bit full still. "Good call, Reg. Nice chef."

"I wasn't aware that you wanted to be touched in your sleep...." Her subtlety was lost on Eddie. After finishing her giggle fit, she tried to get the message across in a more direct way. “I was trying to remind you that skin contact while I’m awake is a problem. Your face a few moments ago made me figure you were distracted by thoughts of me and Minn doing things involving lots of... staying awake.”

When there finally was a plate full of food in front of Saein, Minn sat down opposite to her and asked her for her opinion. Saein took a few bites. Her face already gave a clear answer to the question, but of course this opinion deserved to be put into words. “I see that instead of simply making a few different things to match the tastes of different species, you’ve made things that all could like. That’s a bit risky, but you managed to make the best food I have ever put in my mouth. You really are a goddess of cooking.”

While eating, Saein looked at Minn every once in a while. Her expression reminded of the one that had been on Alex’ face earlier, though it wasn’t exactly the same. She didn’t notice Bond and Colin arriving, all of her mind was occupied with admiring the food and the person who made it.

After the meal, the captain explained their route and the purpose of the mission, so those who considered it too risky could back out. As soon as Reggie had finished speaking, Saein made sure to be the first to voice her approval. “I’m in.”

“I was trying to remind you that skin contact while I’m awake is a problem. Your face a few moments ago made me figure you were distracted by thoughts of me and Minn doing things involving lots of... staying awake.”

"What?!" he strongly denied the possibility of him doing such a thing. His blush betrayed the fact that she caught him. "...uu..." he quieted down and started looking towards Reggie as she spoke about what the mission was and what their possible course was. He liked the idea of finding Earth, as it was possibly the lost human homeworld. He'd only heard of it a couple times in stories and definetly not much detail about it was in those stories that were passed down over the generations. He raised his hand and spoke. "I guess only someone with my piloting skill will get us through this voyage in one piece, so I'll tag along," he agreed.

His fork hovered over his food, which he had most definetly taken seconds of. Looking over to the chef of said deliciousness, he smiled and was about to say something when Bond had taken the chance. He listened intently as the two spoke, Bond eventually asking the question Eddie was about to. After they answered, he smiled yet again. "Couldn't do this without such a great cook," Eddie commented, his fork digging into the food. "Maybe 'great' isn't a great enough word for it... more like 'excellent' or 'lifesaving'," he laughed at that joke, seeing as she pretty much just did save an android with her cooking.

Eddie had gotten into his designated position: The cockpit. The feel of the seat brought with it a nostalgic feeling that the pilot dearly missed. He had been out of commission for a few months now, and he was aching to get this thing into the air so they could start their magical adventure through space, minus unicorns unfortunately as they would just be a nuisance.

"Eddie, lets get this show on the road."

Eddie smirked as he began readying the ship for the beginning of the voyage. By the time the five minute deadline was reached, the ship was roaring to life with excitement, or maybe that was just Eddie. In either case, the ship began facing its course before the engines did their work and accelerated the ship through space but not time.

Eddie loved the feeling of the pull on him as they accelerated. It always brought a mini-rush to him. Sadly, the rush didn't last too long and after a minute or two, it had fully disappeared.

They had now officially began their search for Earth, the supposed human homeworld.

Bond

Bond noted the land cruiser suggested, but shrugged and answered her second questions. "I was thinking to the kitchen, more food, nice view," he added with a smirk and a wink, referring to Minn but he suddenly realized that Saein might not catch this and turned forward again. "Really good food," he went on to say, but was interrupted by the Captain announcing their official take-off. Bond grinned.

"To the bridge?" he asked Saein.

They took off quickly, the ship vast and the path to the bridge a bit odd, but they cut through the kitchen to shorten the distance and Bond rushed over to Minn and tugged her away from the sink of dirty dishes.

"Wha...what are you...?"

He laughed and pulled her along. "Your first take-off and you're not even going to see it? I don't think so, come on now."

So with Bond in the lead, he led the two pink haired ladies to Reggie and grinned happily as Eddie readied himself to perform his magic. Bond assured the engine was in tip top ship shape and he dropped into a seat beside Reggie, grinning toothily to the female captain. "Excited yet?" he asked rhetorically. It was quite obvious she was just by looking at her fidgety movements and unable-to-be-contained smile. Bond ushered Saein and Minn to sit as well and buckle in. The initial take-off could be bumpy no matter how perfect his engines were running.

And the roar of life burst through all of them like a rumbling roar of a monstrous creature, but Bond was hardly afraid. Eddie was having the time of his life, Reggie was elated, Saein was used to this by now but wore and smile and Minn...was terrified. Her delicate hands gripped the cloth of her pants above her knees as she stared out the front windows into the vastness of blackness and stars zooming closer and past the ship. Bond chuckled a bit and placed a hand on her shoulder, which made her jump into a straighter position.

"You're fine, Pinkie," he assured.

Dlew looked at the four people who ran into the Bridge and then looked at the captain who looked about ready to explode with anticipation. Dlew reported to the captain "Our current course has been plotted."

Dlew then sat back an waited for the ship to take off and when it did Dlew felt amazed at how the stars were zooming past the ship. Dlew forgot how amazing it was to watch the stars and apperantly so did the others.

When the ship calmed down and they could walk around the ship again Dlew just decided to stay at his post and draw the stars and how they looked from were he was.

Saein wanted to say something about that “nice view” being a person with points of view of her own, and perhaps also to brag a little about having arranged to have that view when she woke up, but Bond was still talking when the captain announced they would take off soon.

"To the bridge?" Bond asked.

“Naturally.”

Saein laughed with Bond about Minn being so dedicated to kitchen work she would miss take-off for it. It was cute. “Bond is right, it’s better to see it while sitting in a chair than it is to fall over trying to clean dishes during take-off.”

On the bridge, Saein chose a seat next to the one Bond had put Minn in. Talking to everyone and nobody in particular, she commented “You know, when you’re used to moving spots meaning emotion, it’s difficult not to become religious at launch time. It’s like jumping into someone’s arms or something. Good thing She seems to like me.” It sounded like she was half serious, half making a joke. A moment later the engines produced a noise that sounded like music to her (heavy metal of course). “Nice work, Bond.” In the minimal crews back when she worked for RMEE, the mechanic and the engineer were the same person, so she knew exactly what a well-tuned engine should sound like, and she could tell Bond had improved it from well-tuned to perfect.

Next to her, Minn was scared and Bond wasn’t helping though he was trying to. Saein smiled at Minn. “After a few times, you’ll love this.” After a bit of searching through her pockets, Saein found a small black stick shaped object that she stuck between her lips. She didn’t light it or switch it on or anything like that, one simply breathed in through it. “I’d share, but it probably won’t help your nerves and I’d want to ask the doc if you’re allergic first” Saein told Minn. She had heard bad things about other species having such allergies, now wasn’t a good time to repeat them. Death probably already was on Minn’s mind anyway. Saein relaxed in her chair and enjoyed the view. She felt bad for humans not being able to drink their tea during take-off.

After a minute her fingers found a loose screw on her chair, which she immediately fastened. “Hey Minn, you know what? After a few times you’ll love take-off, but after a few hundred times a screw in a chair becomes more interesting.” She laughed at her obsessive urge to fix things. “Relax, hon. You trust Eddie, right? I trust Eddie.”

Reggie watched how Minn reacted to the take off. It wasn't for everybody, and the first one was always the worst. After a while, she would get used to it. If she didn't run off when they docked at their first stop. Which would no doubt take Saein away as well, Reggie recalled back to when the mechanic had said all she wanted was a good chef.

Sighing and shaking her head, Reggie let the slowing pressure wash over her, the feeling so comfortable and normal. She pushed off her chair, walking towards the cockpit. "Dlew, make a change in the planned route. We're stopping at the IDA first. Coordinates should be in the system already."

She spun and took a look at the crew members on the bridge with her. "MAK, what is Minn's location?"

"Just outside the bridge." MAK responded. "Dr. Lassion is with her."

"Good, maybe Cassandra can calm her down." Reggie said tapping her finger on her chin. She was tired, her knee was throbbing. She had been moving too much, too much action. It was time to take a rest.

"Colin, you're in charge. I'm retiring to my quarters for a while." Reggie explained looking to Colin. "Please, don't break my ship."

She smiled to Bond and Saein, waved goodbye to Eddie and Dlew and made her way to her quarters. Her room was on it's own floor, just above the bridge. It was large and spacious, although Reggie never knew what to fill it with. The room was a dark blue color, that immediately calmed the captain down. Her bed sat in the middle of the room on it's own platform. Reggie flopped onto it, immediately removing her tight pants.

Her knee was yellow and discolored, the replacement piece has shifted and knocked out of place. Usually, it left Reggie unable to even walk, but with the amount adrenaline that had been coursing through her most of yesterday and today, it was understandable why she would force her way through the pain.

Reggie contemplated heading down to the infirmary and having the good doctor fix her knee, but she decided against it. There was a good chance she wouldn't even make it that far before collapsing.

Grabbing her pants from the floor, she bunched it up and stuck a thick piece in her mouth, immediately clenching down on it as hard as she could. Placing her fingers in the appropriate locations, she applied pressure to the edges and pushed the cap back into place. Of course it never just snapped back into place. Often times it would get stuck, the metal piece not meant to be moved.

And the pain. The pain was greater than anything Reggie had ever felt. The pain of slipping the metal piece back into place was far greater than when Reggie originally got the injury. She screamed into the cloth as she forced herself to push the piece back into place.

Finally, she felt the cap shift and the pain cease. The captain collapsed, her jaw slacking and the pants falling into her lap. She took in deep breaths and fell back into her sheets.

"MAK!" She called. "I need a drink."

Unlike a few of the others, Eddie decided against departing and looking upon the academy. It brough... unpreferable memories back just being here, and if he had seen a familiar face.... it was better if he didn't. So, he left the comfy seat in the cockpit to walk around for no real reason in general besides just walking. However, it wasn't too much longer after he had started when an annoying loud beeping decided to destroy his eardrums.

He cupped his hands over his ears and waited for the siren to eventually die out, his heart was beating just a bit faster due to the surprise ear rape, and he was a bit worried. Judging by the fact they were docked at the IDA, he was completely and without a doubt sure they weren't just attacked, so... was someone hurt? He frowned, stopping his walk for a minute to remember where the infirmiry was.

A bit longer than it should have taken him later..... he arrived to the scene. Saein was on a stretcher, Minn looking happy and worried at a same time. Eddie couldn't exactly place what happened with just a simple scan of his eyes, so he'd no doubtedly have to sate his want for knowledge on this situation by asking. He took a bigger breath in before exhaling and making his presence known. He didn't want to interrupt for the sole reason that he might seem a bit too worried for someone he just met, but it was in his nature and he couldn't help it.

"Did we have a party while I was piloting the ship? Damn, I miss all the fun ones...." there was a slight uneasiness in his tone that showed the joke didn't roll off his tongue as easy as they usually did. Figuring that the one hurt in all of this was Saein (yeah, he's a genius), he looked at her and spoke again. "What happened? Are you alright?....If it's okay to ask...."

Minn

Minn was ready to question the doctor if Saein was truly okay and why she could touch her fine, almost fine, now, but then Saein asked if she was okay. It was incredulous! "Of course I'm okay!" she exclaimed, worry creasing her face in all sorts of places. "You were the one who collapsed because of me! I'm completely fine." Part of her wanted to hug Saein again, but she held back, wringing her fingers together. She didn't have her wooden spoon to play with. Bond had dragged her from the kitchen too quickly.

Eddie made his presence known with a loud exhale and he stepped inside, cracking a semi-joke and asking if Saein was okay. Minn smiled to him. She liked him as well, and hoped they could be good friends. His jokes were enjoyable, but he also had a deeper side to him that Minn couldn't fully see and was curious to find. Over their trip together, she would be happy if he proved to want to be friends as well.

Then her thoughts zipped back to the kitchen and all the dishes that had yet to be taken care of. Anxiety had her face heat up, but no color change could be seen, the thrill of being the color she was. No one could truly see her emotions based on blushes. But one look back to Saein told her she had to stay with her, make absolutely sure she would be okay. So she remained beside Saein, smiling kindly and sending only positive energy out to the room.

Thank goodness thought Dlew as he watched Saein wake up finally, he looked at the scene with a blank stare, watching Minn lean over her, hugging her again and holding her hand when Eddie came in, somewhat baffled by the events he seemed to have missed. Dlew, satisfied everything was okay finally decided to continue to the bridge, and said a few goodbyes to everyone in his usual dull tone.

He made his way to the bridge successfully, and took his place in one of the chairs before opening up the charts, and beginning to tap the screen, inputting coordinates for their next course and destination. When he finally finished, as usual he produced his little note book and pen, and flipped through the pages, opening up to where he had left off on the sketch of the academy. A few thoughts ran through his mind as he drew finished up the picture, the most prominent being a curiosity of who is to come aboard the ship.

Suddenly his thoughts were interrupted as his pen failed him, refusing to continue any longer as it ran out on ink.

“MAK,” said Dlew, “where can I get another pen?”

“Most likely in one of the offices,” responded MAK.

Dlew contemplated this and finally decided to talk another walk in an effort to find a new pen. After a few moments of walking, he came across Cassandra’s office. He doubted she’d mind if he intruded to snatch a pen, so he entered. Looking around he found the room covered in books strewn across the floor, along with the desk drawers still open. Dlew ignored the mess and made his way to the desk, then found himself looking through some of the books atop it. After a few moments of reading and finding nothing of interest, so he returned to his search, locating a pen quickly and taking it before returning to the bridge.

Saein gave Minn her hand again. It wasn’t a spoon, but she figured it would do. “I don’t mean are you okay now. I mean will you be okay next time we launch.” She glanced at Minn’s hand squeezing hers and smiled. “With me holding your hand and distracting you of course.”

Eddie joined them, jokingly asking if there had been a party, then seriously and a bit hesitatingly asking what had happened.

Saein now treated Minn’s hand like a spoon. She didn’t like to admit she had done something stupid, and on behalf of Minn she would rather pretend nobody had been scared. On the other hand, Eddie would hear about it one way or another, and he was someone she could explain things to in clear technical terms, as if it was a mathematical formula. To begin, she continued the joke. “It sure was one hell of a party. Bond brought the music, I danced with Minn and it took my breath away and knocked me out. But seriously...” She took a deep breath. “Minn didn’t feel well, so silly me gave her a hug. I thought the difference with a handshake would be proportional to the surface area, I didn’t think of the intensity of the emotion my subconscious was expecting to share being a factor. And Minn was... pretty upset. So I froze, stopped breathing and passed out. Oops! But hey, look what I can do now!” Grinning, she hugged Minn and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Maybe that kiss wasn’t such a good idea in front of Eddie. Too late. Her thoughts drifted to to the same idea she might have reminded Eddie of, her kissing Minn with a different kind of love. It wasn’t something she could do yet, and she certainly didn’t want to right now (not with that headache), but she could feel her face get warm. Quick! Think of something to distract everyone! She held her hand up to Eddie “it doesn’t feel normal yet, but, high five?”. It didn’t make any sense to high five Eddie at this moment apart from it being something she suddenly didn’t mind anymore, she hoped it wasn’t a too obvious distraction.

Saein sighed. “Doctor, it’s awfully nice of you to let everyone visit me first, but if there’s anything you need to check before giving me something against my headache, could you please do that now?”

Minn

The kiss Saein planted on her cheek was a friendly one and Minn smiled in reply, receiving many such affections before with her 'sister' before. She did wonder where Eddie's mind was off to though, remembering his discomfort from the last time something between herself and Saein was brought up. But Minn only smiled and listened as the other pink-haired girl asked the doctor for medication.

"Should we leave you alone?" Minn asked, hardly thinking about answering Saein's question about her own mental state about the take-offs. "I don't want to make you uncomfortable." To make her intentions clear, she let go of Saein's hand, feet directed to the door, but she lagged, wanting to know exactly what Saein wanted.

Eddie sighed after Saien gave her explaination on the situation... the true one, at least. He looked over her, and then Minn and then back again. "So you overdosed on feels?" he asked simply, keeping the question simple. However... he turned to Minn and frowned. Something was wrong with Minn? What happened, he wondered as he looked at her for a minute. Before he could open his mouth to speak, Saein placed hers on Minn's cheek and the thoughts from before might've started back up. The way Eddie's cheeks turned red a bit made this obvious.

Needless to say, Eddie was in his own sort of daze as the doctor informed them of Saein's condition. She's to stay in here for a few hours which might not be too fun and Eddie'd stay just... maybe she'd just prefer to be with Minn. Girl time or the sor-- and the thoughts resurfaced. Damn he was too vulnerable to those kinds of thoughts! Some how, he was doubting his own standing as a professional, especially when Minn began asking about their sleeping arrangements.

Ackers began grinding his teeth, actually pissed at himself that he could be so immature. He was also still blushing, but that's besides the point. He looked down upon Saein and offered a smile that might've looked weird with his blush. "If you two are discussing important matters, than I can leave," he told them both as he fought the urge to punch himself. Just something about these two set him off.
