Dedrik's filling in for the Captain didn't last long. The first line of recruits seemed a bit on edge, confused or nervous and the man did his best to lessen any tension. When a new presence made itself known on the man's shoulder, he turned just slightly, only to find that it was the Captain.

"Thank you Dedrik." She said. "I will take it from here."

Straightening slightly and giving a brisk salute, the Vasparti nodded. "Aye Captain," he said simply before retreating off to the side. From here Dedrik took silent stock of everyone present, memorizing faces, noting how people held themselves or acted near others; not a detail was missed in the man's analysis. The only thing that bothered him was the way the Captain had so readily accepted the rag-tag group before her, as well as the hasty departure from the station. Making a mental note to gather more information later, he then returned his attention to those trying for their interview. The Fotiss' show was embarrassing to say the least, and the other woman's ended in a less than appeasing display, some sort of reunion with her apparent sister, Saein.

The man was trained for a more professional demeanor in public, and to keep emotions and personal relationships out of his work for the best mission results. That and of course to not take drugs, a piece of the conversation between the two women and the Captain that he'd just caught. Though, considering the current situation, he supposed the precursor wasn't so terrible.

The Captain however, it seemed, was becoming overwhelmed. Dedrik knew it, and he was sure that she was well aware too that there was just too much to do. He nodded silent approval when she finally decided to hand over the reigns to Bond, the engineer.

When the small... child, approached the Captain though, is when Dedrik stepped forward to offer assistance. He knew that Regina had locked him up purposely, and actually found it surprising when he escaped. The duration of which it took him to complete the task wasn't too bad either, but now wasn't the time for admiration over minor details, especially considering the circumstances in which the boy was detained in the first place.

"Captain," he began, "Is there any way I could help in the current situation? Perhaps keeping this miscreant from further trouble?" Nodding to the boy, he was simply doing what he was trained for: to try to fix the most immediate hindrance. Because he knew it wasn't attending to new recruits now, Dedrik found the title belonging to the one person stopping the Captain from proceeding with piloting her ship. Waiting for a response, he'd accept any other duty given to him too, of course.

Ann thanked the captain. She would talk with Regina again later, sometime when the whole ship wasn’t in a hurry. She’d like to know what information she should be researching first, and it seemed the captain didn’t know how to manage her workaholic sister yet.

She had some difficulty finding the hole in the wall. Saein wasn’t helping, and Ip didn’t understand what she was looking for. When she had finally found it, a thought stopped her. “Who is MAK?” she asked.

“I’m MAK, I’m the ship AI. Welcome aboard!” said a voice that seemed to be coming from the ceiling.

Good. AIs couldn’t use drugs. “Thank you, MAK. If I throw something in this hole, will it immediately be gone forever?”

“I can make it so.”

“Then make it so.” The small box disappeared into the hole. A hatch closed in front of it, and the drugs disintegrated into subatomic particles. Interestingly, and unknown to any scientist at this time, the process caused the same box to appear in an alternate universe, where it crashed into a skippyball-sized planet and wiped out all of the microscopic dinosaur-like creatures on it.

Ann didn’t join the group on their walk with the captain to the bridge. Saein could tell her anything she needed to know now, and there was no time to lose. Any time lost now meant much more time lost later. She pushed Saein into a bathroom. “Get it out.”

Saein refused. “Someone has been hacking us. I shouldn’t waste time on sleeping while I have to track down a saboteur.”

“There was a boy with technology all over him,” Ann recalled, “it seems the captain locked him up and he managed to get out by himself. Then she hired him along with the rest. Could that be your hacker?”

Her sister was surprised. “A hacker boy? But then what is this?” She brought back the unknown scent from memory, and shared it through the skin link.

“That’s... hm... I’m pretty sure that’s a tripod synth. As far as I know, those things don’t hack. Wait, are you saying there’s one on the ship?”

“Maybe. I don’t know.” Saein sighed. “Alright then.” She stuck her finger in her throat, and... nothing happened. “Stupid drug” she grumbled.

Ann imagined the two most nauseating things she knew, maggots and eye surgery, and combined them into an image of a maggot being removed from inside an eye. She passed the image and feeling on to Saein before she lost her own lunch. That worked. “Okay, now drink.” She felt uncomfortable telling her older sister what to do, things normally worked the other way around between them, but it was necessary.

“That shit burns even worse on the way out” Saein complained.

“That’s how you know how good it is for you. Now, do it again.” She made Saein sick another time, told her to drink again, and repeated the process.

“You’re killing me.”

“No, Saein. You’re killing yourself.” She lovingly stroked Saein’s back. “I think that was enough.”

“Where did you even get that stuff?” Ann asked while Saein cleaned up. She had been told about Shifters, and recognizing the effect of the drug was pretty easy, but she had never encountered it before.

“I stole it from Uney when I quit.” A small smile appeared on Saein’s face, she wished she could have seen that bastard when he found his drugs were gone.

“So... let me get this straight. The guy who wouldn’t learn that women aren’t interested was using a drug that has a side effect of preventing learning.”

Saein stopped. “I hadn’t looked at it that way. I guess I’m an ass for not helping him.”

“You did right by stealing it. Anyway, it figures that you’d acquire an illegal drug on a state owned ship.”

Saein snickered at that last bit. “I love you, ’Rein”

Ann messed Saein’s hair. “And I love you. So, now what? I’d tell you to go get some sleep, but I know you won’t be able to. Anything I can help you with?”

“I doubt you would be much help filling bullet holes.”

“I would have to agree.” Ann gave her sister a last hug. “I’ll join our captain on the bridge, then. ’Til soon! ... MAK, guide me to the bridge, please.”

“’Til soon!” Saein replied. For a moment she wondered why she didn’t get a kiss, the reason was easy to guess. She’d go back to her room and brush her teeth before getting back to work.

The captain had directed the prospective hirelings to introduce one another but just as the first one began to speak her voice echoed through the hanger.
"Congratulations! You're all hired!" Regina Interrupted, "Sorry for the informality, but we're in a bit of a hurry and I'm going to need as much help as I can get"
Well that was simple enough he thought as she went off and ordered for the ship to leave dock. Having been a little surprised at the ease with which he had acquired a new job he'd zoned out of the introductions, having just caught the name of the one currently speaking; Dia Fora he believed is what they’d said.
"Okay, everyone, walk and talk please. We are heading to the bridge!"
As the captain hurried off and shouted for the new recruits to follow Valerio had shrugged and thumbs hooked into the front pockets of his jeans wandered with the group, taking in the details of the ship as he did so. The small lass from the pub was busy chittering at the captain again but oddly enough her voice wasn’t as unbearable as it had been earlier. A fact for which Valerio was immensely grateful.
The party continued till they reached an elevator where they met another member of the c- their crew now he supposed, who the captain introduced them too.
"Everyone this is Bond! He's our engineer!" she called out as they got into the elevator for the bridge. As the elevator rose he turned towards the Engineer, and held out his hand to the man, intending to give him a strong warm handshake ”Evenin’ Bond, pleasure to meet ya, the names Valerio Vimes. Mighty fine ship you have here.”

Bond

So he was in charge of the recruits. Well, that beat fixing bullet holes.

Standing taller, he scanned the group, accepting a warm hand from Valerio Vines. Bond chuckled, "Not my ship Valerio," he answered, eyes trailing over to Regina where a shorter guy was speaking with her, Dedrik for some reason stepping in. He didn't worry too much about it though. He had recruits to impress.

Slipping his yellow handled screwdriver from his back pocket, he flipped it once in the air with a grin. "Welcome to the Nightwing. I've been on this crew since our grand voyage began...yesterday." He coughed. "But! I know a thing or two about her already and the food...is sublime. In fact, we should head to the kitchen now. Much better to answer questions around a table of food."

Turning his back, he led the group down the hall a ways, hoping Regina wouldn't mind the relocation. His smile faltered as no one could see. Just hours ago, his crew mates were shot down. What better chance did these recruits have? Or any of them? He had to speak with Regina for specifics on what was actually going on, but not before she got some rest. That girl needed to slow down. She was the Captain after all. She could divvy all the work to others and crash on her own mattress.

Reaching the kitchen, scents of previous meals wafted through the air, but the light was off. Flipping a switch, he squinted in confusion, Minn nowhere to be found.

"Sit tight here, get acquainted, I'll find our lovely cook."

Ducking out of the kitchen, he tried to remember if Minn was rooming with Saein or not...and where Saein said her room was.

Eventually he found Eddie in the hall, blood dripping from his nose and a pale anxiety taking over his face. "You okay?" Bond asked, not liking the sight of blood on this ship anymore. Not that he liked it ever before. Bond's eyes flicked to the door the pilot stood outside of and squinted, realizing this was the room he was looking for. "Minn inside?" he asked, hand on the door handle before receiving an answer.

Pushing the door open, he paused, seeing Minn half wrapped in a sheet, leaning over a small pile of garments and clothes. Her pink back was exposed to him and she turned slightly, eyebrows pulled together in panic. "What are you doing?!" she cried, pulling the sheet higher, all the way up to her chin and slipping to fall backwards onto the low mattress. The sheet fluttered, a momentary view given to Bond, but he only smiled, shaking his head with laughter. Now he understood Eddie's plight.

Facing the pilot, he clapped him on the shoulder. "Don't worry about it," he said and stepped inside the bedroom. "Minn, we have new recruits that need food. Get dressed."

She sat up roughly, puffing out to blow some of her pink strands of hair out of her face. "Get out!"

Bond laughed again, but complied. "Hurry up!"

He closed the door and stood beside Eddie in the hallway. Crossing his arms, and leaning on the wall, he sighed and closed his eyes. "Good choice, Ed." Lifting on eyelid, he grinned toothily.

Moments later, Minn ripped open the door in a flustered manner as she pushed her semi-wet strands of hair back and tugged the waistband of her previous black low rise pants up over the top of red underwear. Bond's eyebrow rose as she passed them, her back shown. His eyes switched to Eddie, eyebrows raised suggestively.

When Ann arrived on the bridge, the rest of the group wasn’t there. Someone... the captain sat in the pilot seat, she probably shouldn’t bother her there, not now the Council Guards might be here any minute. She left the bridge, and asked “MAK, where is everyone now?”

“Engineer Mason took the other new recruits to the kitchen.”

“MAK, please show me to the kitchen. Or give me a tour of the whole ship, I don’t care.”

“Is there any place you would like to see first?”

Ann mentally facepalmed. Of course the AI had no sense of humor.

“How about the kitchen?” the AI suggested.

Or perhaps it did have one after all. “You know, MAK, I was in doubt there for a second, but I think I’m going to enjoy working with you. Yes, to the kitchen, please.”

Saein

Saein felt the beginnings of a headache. She was also shivering, and feeling distracted by a nothing to her left. Why had she and Ann both thought things would be as simple as spitting out the pill and going back to work? Well, she was not going to have any fainting or drug related incidents today, like she had yesterday. She was too awesome for those.

Minn was no longer in the room, and, presumably, dressed. Minn’s clothes were nowhere to be seen, which confirmed the expected. Saein wondered why she was wondering about Minn’s state of dress at all. She stuck her toothbrush in her mouth, she’d make her teeth the brightest shining ones in the universe, and the whole crew would worship her and be at her feet for those shiny... fresh...

What the hell?

“Hello, Uney” she said to the mirror.

If she was going to be like this, it would be better to avoid interacting with others. Minn had left the bed a mess, so Saein made it. Not good enough. It had to look better than in the most expensive hotel she had ever visited. She made the bed again. And again. That was more like it. She perfected the rest of the room, too. When everything finally was clean and aligned perfectly, she had no idea what to do next, so she lay down on the bed. Had the ceiling always been this dark in color?

She could risk it. Leave the room and hope she could manage not to be an Uney to anyone. Actually, she had to leave the room. What if Minn returned? Being liked by Minn was top priority.

Saein stood in front of the door, hesitating. “I can do this” she said to herself. “I’m aware of the difference between my reality and actual reality. Self awareness is awesome. And now I’m going to fix some bullet holes. I’ll fix them good. Nobody is going to see there ever were any holes. Yesss. Bullet holes.”

"Welcome to the Nightwing. I've been on this crew since our grand voyage began...yesterday." Bond coughed. "But! I know a thing or two about her already and the food...is sublime. In fact, we should head to the kitchen now. Much better to answer questions around a table of food."

Pausing in her steps, she couldn't help but stare at Bond. The Mechanic already making his way down the hall to the café. The group obediently followed along. Yesterday?, Mercia thought. Jogging to catch up with the crowd, the brunette never stopped thinking. Did he just say, yesterday? Yesterday, this voyage started. They had already gotten attacked. Had men and women killed, and now they were being chased. By who? Who would do such a thing like start a war with Star Fleet? Are they stupid or something? What did this ship do to upset someone to that length? Or were they just at the wrong place, at the wrong time? Putting her hand to her head in frustration when they stopped in the kitchen, all the brunette wanted to do now is sleep. Her face was contorted in a sort of angry confusion that made her radiate a very unfriendly vibe. Her whole body tense.

"This is just one giant cluster fuck of confusion." Mercia muttered to herself, staring at the door the engineer had exited through. Maybe she should just sit and wait.

With a now growing headache, the blue eyed woman plopped down in a seat. It's sleek design holding not an ounce of warmth. Mercia didn't care at this point in time. She wanted, needed answers. How was she to help at all if she knew nothing? Not a single thing had been explained to her and it made her want to pull her hair out. Grumbling something along the lines of 'Damn ship...', she plunked her head against the cool surface of the table.

Tom didn't manage to hear any response from Val, as the entire crew began walking towards the bridge. Everyone was talking. Then, just as he thought he was beginning to know his way around, they all changed direction and headed for the kitchen. The engineer was obviously thinking with his stomach. When they got there, Tom found himself a seat in a corner of the dining area and rested his head in his hands. He was all for getting to know the rest of the crew, but right now, he just wasn't up to the task. Obviously, he'd be polite and talk if someone started a conversation with him, he told himself.

He could smell food, but after searching the room for the source, he found none, and Minn was nowhere to be seen. That only served to make him more hungry, so he crossed his arms on the table, rested his head on his arms, and closed his eyes.

Bond gave Eddie absolutely no time to respond. He both greeted Eddie and asked a question within the short span of a few seconds and Eddie failed to tell him that Minn was not dressed in her room. Instead of having a similar reaction to Eddie's own, Bond seemed to not give two fucks about whether or not he was invading on Min's privacy and almost seemed as if he preferred it. That showed Eddie some real character.

Eddie heard why he need Minn - because she was needed to feed the newest recruits who had yet to taste a meal made by her - but he saw no reason for Bond's rudeness. Given what little time Eddie had talked to him, he would probably guess that Bond didn't care much for other people's own space and stuff like that, which Eddie would not share. Eddie liked privacy and he respected it. He, sighing, shook his head at Bond. "It's not what you think..." he explained, Minn passing by them as they did. She was obviously not in the best of mood by having not one but two people walk in on her nudity. He would have to admit that he was surprised he nor Bond didn't get slapped with a furious hand, more so Bond than himself, but he wasn't complaining. Slaps hurt.

As Bond passed him a glance, Eddie turned and looked towards Minn. "I guess lets go then?" he suggested, wiping the blood from his nose with his arm. Eddie just realized he was rocking his six pack and nothing else. So that's why it was so cold. Either way, he needn't worry just yet because when he fell back to his room next, he would take a much-needed shower. For now though, food sounded good... and a rest. "Yes?" he asked having not received an answer to his question before, but they probably thought it rhetorical. "Lets hurry, I need to sit down..."

Eddie decided to take the front of group and led them to Minn's station.

Regina

Reggie was in the process of moving towards the bridge, but was cut off by the blonde with the costume hat. She introduced her giant robot friend, and asked if there was an empty wing she could use. "Yeah..." Reggie said still staring at the giant robot. "Yeah." She said again, shaking out of her stupor. "There's an empty area where some rooms were, but were gutted out. MAK, can you show her the way."

Reggie didn't have time to continue any conversations, she quickly pressed a button in the elevator. She watched Bond take a hold of the new recruits, using his usual charms to get them away from the captain and heading towards the kitchen. The captain sighed as the doors slid closed. MAK immediately shot the elevator up to the bridge, no stops on the way, and the doors slid open.

"MAK, how close are they?"

"There is a ship, gaining speed, and nearing the ship. Impact is inevitable."

"How long?"

"Two minutes."

"Damn."

Reggie wrapped her hair back up in a ponytail, quickly throwing off her coat and any extra equipment she had on her. Her holster and belt were thrown to the side, and she easily slid out of her boots. Her skin was already covered in a thin layer of sweat, as she slid into the cockpit. She took control of the ship from MAK, and quickly asked him to inform the crew to strap into the emergency seating in the halls.

She wasn't going to risk them getting injured as she tried to avoid a giant ship heading straight for them.

"Captain, 30 seconds to impact."

"Thank you MAK! I can count!"

Reggie grabbed a hold of the handles and pushed them away from her, pushing the ship into a steep nosedive. The ship shook, and the sirens went off. The Nightwing was never properly intended for such fast and drastic movements, but they were running out of options. The captain guided the ship further down, accelerating faster and faster. When she saw the Intergalactic Guard ship pass overhead, she leveled the ship. Unfortunately, it wasn't over.

"Captain, there is another ship accelerating quickly towards our location. Four minutes to impact."

Reggie growled and flicked a switch. "Four minutes is all I need."

Narration

The two Intergalactic Guard ships were en route. They were giving strict orders. Stop the Nightwing. Whatever they had to do, but stop it's voyage. The men on board, barely questioned why. They had their orders, and it was their job to do them. Questioning wasn't apart of their job.

The first ship missed, the Nightwing diving quickly out of the way. When it was leveled out, the second ship moved in. No regrets. Stop the Nightwing. It was closing in. Impact in a mere minute. There was noway for the ship to escape. Closer and closer, they were practically on top of each other. But, suddenly, the Nightwing had shot forward putting a hefty distance between the two ships.

It spun, turning to face the second ship, and an onslaught of missiles shot forward and struck the second Guard ship. The shocking discovery that the once passenger ship had weapons turrets on it, gave the first ship a minute of pause. The second ship failed and dove down towards the Othra Station. The Nightwing didn't have time to turn to take out the first ship, and not enough missiles.

The first ship accelerated, moving quickly towards the Nightwing. The pilot moved to launch missiles, his hand at the read. As he got closer and closer, he pressed the button. The missiles shot quickly through the air, but missed the Nightwing as it shot forward. The only way for the ship to make it, was to outrun the Guard ship, and the missiles.

Turbulence shook the Nightwing, all of the crew members hanging on for dear life as the ship shot forward faster then it ever had. Red lights flickered, sirens blared, MAK's voice continued to ring out warning the crew of the danger.

The ship moved faster and faster, finally hitting a checkpoint and shooting faster into the next galaxy, then quickly to the next checkpoint and onto the next galaxy. The Nightwing hopped one more galaxy before finally making a stop at a nearby planet, their fuel tank practically dry. But the ship wasn't necessarily safe, the Guard could easily find the registered ship anytime they docked at a station.

Thankfully, this planet didn't have a proper station, to behind on the times. They were hidden for now, but they couldn't stay forever.

Alexander

The doctor strapped himself into a small folding seat that was attached to the wall in the infirmary. The few crew members that were inside, still getting their bodies check on, ran outside to the hallway and strapped themselves in. Alex closed his eyes tight to get the red blinking light out of his vision, but to no avail. The entire ship shook, shaking the doctor down to his core.

He pressed his right hand to the wall next to him, as he cried out. He was not prepared for this. This was not what he had signed up for! Suddenly, his body lurched back, as the ship shot through a checkpoint. The pressure was intense. Usually, passing through checkpoints was smoother, but Alex assumed they were running from something. And the captain probably wasn't worrying about proper procedures.

Alex's body lurched back several times, before the ship finally came to a stop. The doctor fell forward, pulling at his seat belt, and his released the few contents of his stomach. MAK's voice rang overhead informing everyone that the ship had docked at the planet Inasri in the system Wells. They had jumped three systems, the Othra station far behind them.

"Everyone is to meet in the hangar, by the land cruiser. The captain will be down shortly to get everyone transported from the ship down to the planet."

Alex sighed as he pushed himself to his feet. Just like Regina to land us on a planet with no proper transport system.

Regina

After finally docking the ship on the rundown docks of Inasri, Reggie removed herself from the cockpit. Her legs felt like jelly, but she pushed herself forward. She slipped her boots back on, and quickly grabbed all her stuff from her captain's chair.

Her entire body was covered in sweat, her tank-top soaked through. Her long hair stuck easily to her neck, even when in a ponytail. She gathered it on top of her head and used another bad to keep it in place. Cool air reached her neck, and Reggie sighed. She blinked several times, her adrenaline wearing off. She could feel exhaustion take over her body, and she was desperately in need of sleep.

She couldn't remember the last time she had sleep. She probably hadn't slept since they started this stinking voyage, and that probably wasn't helping her properly captain her crew. She just had to get them down to the planet. The people running the Inn knew Reggie, and she knew they would allow her and her crew to stay. Possibly free of charge.

"MAK, make sure the kid finds me. I'm going to need to his expertise." Reggie stated stepping into the elevator.

"Captain, I must inform you that Austin is not a kid, he is..."

"I don't care MAK, tell me later! Just relay the message!"

"Yes, captain."

Austin was quite pissed Regina had ignored him again. He gritted his teeth and grudgingly followed the rest of the group. Bond suggested the group go eat. He wasn't very interested in food at the moment. He needed less and less food as the years went on. He rarely ate anymore.

They didn't get much of a chance before the ship started shifting very far back and forth. Banking hard in all directions. Sirens were going off. Things were problematic. He held onto whatever he could. After sometime, the ship stopped. They made a number of jumps, and after he looked a little bit, it turned out they were on the planet Inasri. He wasn't sure what to do, but that was quickly answered for him. He received a message from MAK. "Hello Austin. Please report to The Captain. She wishes to see you immediately."

"Now she wants to talk to me..." He mumbled to himself. He pulled up a map of the ship. He got in an elevator and took it up. After some twists and turns, he arrived at another elevator. Just as Regina got to the floor she planned on. He stood in front of it, and looked up to her. "Your A.I said you wanted me. What's up?"

Tom was startled out of his reclusion by the klaxons and flashing lights, and stood up instinctively, just as the ship lurched downward. Stumbling into the table with a hefty crash, he couldn't help wondering whether this job was going to always be this painful. He picked himself up, and used the wall for support as he checked around to see if anyone else had fallen or got hurt.
"Is everyone alright?" he called, not really being able to see past the blinding red lights.
He saw the outline of a figure across the room, and stumbled towards them, only to be sent hurtling backwards by a sudden increase of speed. What the hell was going on?
MAK was insistently demanding that everyone used the emergency seating, but Tom had a better idea. He diverted some voltage from his main power cell into the suspension coils in his ankles, effectively turning them onto electromagnets and sticking him fast to the floor. He clomped out of the kitchen and up the hallway, hoping that he'd find someone to offer his services to, someone who could give him something useful to do. He thought about finding Reggie, but when he took in the movements of the ship, he realised she was probably piloting it.
At a loss, he stood for a moment and looked around at the chaos.

Minn

They both deserved her anger, Bond much more so than Eddie for sure. Minn knew it was harsh, but she wasn't her old self anymore. Nor did she work at that horrendous whore house.

She wasn't sure where her sudden confidence stemmed from, possibly from spending her limited time with Saein in a state of stress-free contentment or from realizing how easily they could die. Whatever the reason, she clung to it and didn't speak to either of them as they made their way to the kitchen.

"All right friends," Bond announced as he slipped through the kitchen door first. "Allow me to introduce..."

MAK's voice rang out a warning. A chilling and brief message preceding the next confidence-shattering moments.

Minn and Eddie hadn't made it to the door yet and when the ship jolted, they fell along with it. The nose dive resulted in a strange gravity shift, that Minn disliked and after collided with the side of the hallway in a diagonal fall, she loathed it. Her gut caught one of the emergency chairs, head colliding with a buckle and breaking skin along her hairline. Her screams barely met her own ears as her heart beat faster and faster.

She glimpsed Eddie in the ruckus, lights flickering from the drastic movements the ship was taking. Wanting to make sure he was okay too, she clung to the bottom of the emergency seat, searching in the blinking lights, but to no avail. "Eddie!" she called out, head pounding now and body shaking. She realized she was crying.

Eventually, the ship leveled and Minn clamored into the emergency seat and fumbled with the buckles as she full-on sobbed. Were they being attacked? Was this how she was going to die? Horrible images of explosions or blood filled her head and as she finally slid the buckle in place, the tears took over her sight and she covered her face with her pink hands, begging for it to stop.

Annarein

Sirens blared, and MAK told her to strap into an emergency seat. Well that was just great, she was going to need some time to figure out how to do that, and emergencies generally didn’t involve a lot of time. Ann sprinted back to the last doorway she had walked through, and locked her body in it, feet pressing against one side, back against the other. This was going to hurt.

Seconds later it began. Holding Ip in her arms, she was pulled in all possible directions by the weight of the big animal as the ship turned.

She wasn’t sure how long the battle and the flight after it lasted, time slows down when one is in pain and hanging on for life. When the ship finally stopped moving, she needed some help from Ip to get back on her feet. Her legs were exhausted, shaking, and almost stuck in the position she had been using them. Her back was one big bruise.

"Everyone is to meet in the hangar, by the land cruiser. The captain will be down shortly to get everyone transported from the ship down to the planet." MAK forwarded an order from the captain.

Ann limped back to the hangar, leaning half of her weight on her furnak. Saein was already there, she had rushed to Ann as soon as she saw her, and lifted her on her back. “Ouch! How did that happen?” the older sister asked when she felt the pain in the back of the younger one.

“Couldn’t make sense of the emergency seats. H-had to use a d-door.” Ann shivered.

“I get it. Ouch.”

It was a silent walk to the kitchen aside from the sound of footsteps against the floor, Eddie's own were irregular because of how he was walking. Walking was still a task for him and he carefully took each step to minimalize the stinging pain in his wound from moving around. He would cry or complain about it, but the pain was an annoying sensation he'd do much better without. Especially because he was try too keep himself looking good so that Minn wouldn't worry. Then again, she seemed angry.

Bond had found himself in front of Eddie just before they reached their destination for Edward had started tiring out a bit. Just from a walk alone, his body felt a bit taxed and that pissed him off, though nobody could tell it. It wasn't important enough for people to bother about, and they needed to get new members settled in so that they could get this voyage on the right path.

It was probably from just today's stress, maybe. But now that all that was over, Eddie wouldn't have to---

...
...
...

Eddie didn't get much time to respond to MAK's 'warning' and soon found him gripping onto the doorway for dear life after he of course slammed into it with his back, hurting him greatly. It wasn't enough to break his spine, but it hurt nonetheless. The sound of the sirens going off and screams had filled the air, as well as objects too. One such item in particular was a chair that found its way to Eddie's head and slammed into it. His head recoiled back, but the chair wasn't enough to break his grip or his neck and so fell down... or sideways (whichever you'd prefer) while Eddie cussed up a storm from the pain that was now pulsing on his head.

He could hear Minn calling his name and looked towards where he had thought he heard her yell, spotting her clung to an emergency chair - not the ones that liked to hit Eddie in the face. "Hey! Hold on!" he tried yelling back to her, but wasn't sure if she could hear him through the tempest of loud noises and cries of the other members. Another chair began sliding towards Eddie, ready to take his head off or at least try to... Eddie glared at hit, as if to stop it with his mind and, after a second, it did!......Well, the ship had returned to level and everything stopped being a threat.

Eddie had, once more, fallen to the floor with a thud and now, aside from his bullet wound, his head and back were in pain too. Most importantly though, was his pride. Why the hell wasn't he in the cockpit?! Maybe he could've lessened the ship's interior damage or the harm to the crew. The ship seemed stable and there was no call through the ship, so that meant.... something, right? Well, they weren't dead so Eddie'd have to take it as a sign that he wasn't needed... immediately.

He could hear Minn's sobbing but....

His back hurt too damn much right now to move.

Tom turned, hearing Eddie's cries of pain from the room he'd just left, and walked back to help. He found Eddie leaning against a doorframe with a broken chair nearby, and guessed what had happened.
He eased his arm underneath Eddie's back to support it as he helped him up.
"Hey, you're supposed to sit on it, not headbutt it," he quipped, before smiling and patting him on the shoulder, and moving to pick up Minn.
She looked like she'd almost got onto one of the emergency seats, but got pretty bashed about in the process. He decided it would be best to leave the situation to the experts.
"MAK, can you get Dr. Greenhaven to come and have a look at Minn and Eddie?"

"I will notify him of the situation."

"Ok. Oh, and could you show me back to the hangar? I got a bit lost on the way here."

"Certainly."

Following MAK's instructions, he got back to the hangar to meet the other crew members at the land cruiser.

Maria was snapped back into reality when she heard the warning. Maria stood up and randomly shouted "LAUNCH SUM INTERGALACTIC NUKES!" Maria took off her hat and stood her arm inside, and pulled out random explosives that couldn't have fit in there. Leave it to the Genkshi to screw around with space and physics.

"Miss Caroline-Marie, it's best if you strap yourself in." The computer suggested to her directly, a dock appearing at the wall near her. Maria glared at it for a second. "I have to hang myself on that?" Maria asked. "Yes" The computer responded. Maria only looked at it for a second more before she did, her half-drunk self having some trouble with it.

When she did, she felt the ship make a sharp jerk... And her hat flew off. "NOOOOOO!!!" Maria screamed overdramatically. As the ship bounced all over the place, her hat flew directly in front of her tauntingly, as Maria complained like a child; "My HAAAAAT!" Maria truly was a child at heart.

When the ship finally stopped, Maria unstrapped herself and instantly fell. Her vision was blurry, but she could grab the hat in front of her face. "Woo! We made it!" she shouted in a slurred tone, "Where are we?" But Maria's manly instincts could tell her exactly where they were.

Valerio had mulled over Bonds words as he followed the group though the ship, so he'd only been aboard her for a day and it already looked that the ship had been through one hell of a battle. Though that did bring up the question of what had happened to whoever had had the position before him, and that wasn't exactly something he wanted to focus on at this point, but it would be a question that he'd need to ask. However before he could continue their brief conversation he had already begun to lead them off in search of food and such, which while certainly an important detail it was somewhat secondary to the armoury and the weapon systems and crafting capabilities of the ship as far as Valerio was concerned but he followed anyways as it was something he'd need to know eventually.

As they reached the canteen he caught the mutterings of one of the other recruits as she sat down at one of the tables "This is just one giant cluster fuck of confusion." while Bond said something about trying to find their cook Valerio took a seat opposite the the recruit he'd overheard as they'd entered.

"That may be a tad bit of an understatement like" he said to her just as Bond returned with a confused looking gentleman holding a bloody nose and someone who was clearly the ships cook in tow.

"All right friends," Bond began as he entered. "Allow me to introduce..." his voice cut off by the sound of klaxons as the ships AI made an announcement over the internal communications, something about the crew needing to secure themselves into emergency seating.

As the room descended into black and red due to the flashing lights, Valerio moved away from the table and reached the nearby frame of the doorway into the canteen, using it to prop himself up as the ship began to lurch violently as if thrown about on a stormy tide. As he felt his grip begin to loosen on the door frame he decided that perhaps making his way for the safety seats may have been a slightly better idea, but too late for that. Clinging on for dear life he pulled himself around the door to wedge his shoulder into the frame to garner a better standpoint; he just hoped he could hang on till the ship could steady itself.

Valerio looked around to see what the rest of the new recruits and existing crewmen were doing to weather this bastarding situation and caught a glimpse of the guy with the bleeding nose flying towards a chair as his own world view span. The ship around him was hurtling for what seemed like an age before it suddenly stopped as quickly as it had begun with pain. Blearily he looked around to see that he had been thrown from the door frame and into a nearby booth. While no doctor, he could guess that nothing had been seriously damaged due to the fact that he wasn't bleeding and just ached, but he'd just have to see.

Dia awoke in a flailing panic as the ship jerked and sped up. He, still being in the hangar, after having sit down... instead of following the group, had fallen asleep on the floor. He found himself falling towards the wall nearest him at quite a quick pace. His feet were aligned to take the roughness of the impact and from there the ship turned roughly around which caused him to sail across the room. As he headed head first towards the hangar door, he pulled up his arms in preparation and his hands weaved into a cargo net attached to the ceiling. It spun him and his feet in a slight jerking motion. He held on for dear life as the ship whipped around violently for a short while. His grip loosened and his hands were sweating as the ship slowed back down to a steady pace. The ceiling once again felt as though it were above him and the floor below. He let go of the cargo net and landed gracefully on the floor.

"Gracious," He said aloud to himself as he straightened out his jacket, "How long was I out??"

He looked around, vaguely remembering this place. He remembered being in a bar and pretty much new exactly how he got here by putting two and two together.

"What new adventure does this forebode," He chuckled to himself.

He continued on down the hallway in search of sentience.

"Who's in charge around here?!" He boisterously called down the hall.

Minn

Tom had MAK fetch the doctor, but Minn's concerns were for Eddie. She limped to him, realizing her ankle wasn't in good shape, but tried to ignore it, as well as her shaking.

"A-Are you okay?" she inquired softly, kneeling down beside him. Her hands went straight to his hair to crush it aside, afraid to touch anything else in case she hurt him further. She herself ached all over from the sudden jerks and movements, but felt capable. Something warm slowly slithered down the left side of her face though. Touching her fingertips to her head wound, she found shining blood. Managing a sigh, she glanced into the kitchen, seeing the recruits in disarray as well, Bond among them.

Since the doctor was on the way, Minn said to Eddie, "Stay here. I'll be right back."

Standing and waltzing into the kitchen, she felt strange and tall. The head wound pulsed madly, but she focused on Bond right away, scrambled up with a few chairs and their broken legs. Moaning, she sat up and corrected his limbs to lay at his sides instead of at odd angles. When his eyes opened, he wasn't prepared.

Minn's foot caught his ribs, hard. "That's for peeping on me," she growled.

With that taken care of, Bond's surprised coughing breaths quite satisfactory, she faced the rest of the crew in the kitchen. Her hands found her hips. "I'll clean up in here. You all should be at your stations." Her voice was cold, and not to be questioned. Despite her lack of height, she stood taller than before, feeling lighter.

The letter R blinked in her mind again. R...R...T...R...

Her head whipped around to Bond, green eyes narrowing. R...R...T...T...T...

He was sitting up, shaking his head and trying to find his bearings. Before he could fully stand, he caught her stare. The two were silent a long moment, reading confusion on each other's faces.

R...R...T...T... Red fingers...no...Red gloves...

"Take them to their stations," Minn said quietly, unmoving. Her eyes brows rose, mind working quickly as images passed by her mind's eye.

R...Ryn.

T...Teem.

The red gloves reached forward as a voice quietly whispered its assurance. "You won't remember a thing."

"Out," Minn whispered, hands shakily going to her head. "Everyone just...leave..."

Her feet carried her to the sinks and she proceeded to clear off leftovers pans and dishes from before, shivering and pushing her hair back with annoyed whines. Although she had no conclusive evidence, she knew for certain now that she wasn't crazy. Ryn Teem had red fingers. And he had said she wouldn't remember.

Well, he lied.

Valerio decided to get up and see how everyone else was doing, figuring that going to check on their guide would be a good start as other than him the rest of their party were unknown to him; not to mention he was the only person he'd met who knew his way around this ship and if the ship had been fired upon it was likely to need its mechanic. As he clambered out from booth into which he landed he noticed that his footsteps seemed a tad uneven, almost sluggish on his right leg. Looking down he noticed that while there hadn't been any sign of injury before a faint trickle of blood was dripping around his boots.

"Well... that cannae be good like." he muttered half chuckling to himself as he pulled at the jeans, turning them to see any damage; and the fabric parted slightly at the back to show several jagged shard of twisted metal embedded into the muscle. "Should probably hurt more I think..." he mused before dragging his now ruined leg across the canteen to where the ships cook was well, Waltzing as far as he could tell, around the fallen bodies of her crew; clearly she was either a few rounds short of a clip or deeply disturbed by current events. Val voted for both. At least the robot seemed to be on top of things, having contacted the ships AI and requested medical aid.

As Valerio hobbled over he put his hand on the robots shoulder to steady himself, his reactions were becoming somewhat slower than they should be; so he chalked them down to loss of blood. Realising he should most likely do something about it he reached into his satchel and pulled out a few old unused bandages but before he could either apply them himself or ask the robot, who's name for the life of him he couldn't remember to help him he saw the cook violently kick Bond hard in the ribcage.

"That's for peeping on me" He heard her growl before she started acting very strangely indeed.

"Lass, I think that now may not be the damn time to get your own back on wounded crew during what is clearly a bloody awful situation" Val grumbled at her but in response she just glared at the new recruits and coldly told them to leave and get back to their stations, whether she had heard him was anyone's guess.

Saein and Ann stood waiting by the land speeder for a while, waiting for the rest of the crew. “Might as well fix another hole” Saein said. She pulled a crate for Ann to sit on near the closest hole, gently put her sister back on her own legs, and set to work. She talked while working. “I’ll show you how to use those emergency seats when we’re back from whatever the captain wants to do on this planet. Cause you really shouldn’t do that door thing again.”

“Why is it a bad idea?” Ann asked.

“Because when the hull is damaged, the doors will close quickly and with force, without caring whether there is someone in them.”

Ann swallowed, imagining how she might have been mashed by the door.

Saein proceeded to give a summary of events so far, with emphasis on her mistakes and accidents, like using Shifters, saying stupid things while tripping on painkillers, hugging someone, and getting hired in the first place. “So I’ve done plenty of stupid things too, recently” she concluded.

“You’re not stupid,” Ann replied, making her sister feel a bit better for a moment. “... it takes a genius to fuck up like that.”

Saein gasped. “You... you... you...” Her laughing ended her attempts to find a word to put after “you”.

Alexander

The ship finally settled back within itself, the flashing lights stopped, and MAK's constant warnings finally ceased. Alex let out a long breath, his heart still pounding from the adrenaline. He quickly unbuckled himself and left the infirmary to find the still wounded strapped in the chairs in the corridor. "Are you alright?" He asked helping the few crew members out of their seats.

"Just a little shaken," One remarked. "But I think we're all okay."

Alex shook his head with a sigh as he led them back into the infirmary. One of the men's stitches had come loose and would have to be redone. "Let's get you men patched up." He said to the last three. "Wherever we are, I'm sure you'd love to get off the ship and enjoy it."

The three men laughed, as they took their places on the beds in the sterile space. "Doctor!"

Alex sighed once again as he helped the crew member into a bed. "What is it MAK? I have men to attend to."

"That's just the thing, Dr. Greenhaven, there have been some injuries up by the kitchens."

Alex groaned rubbing his forehead, and then moving his hand up through his puffed hair. "Of course." He grumbled. He quickly set to work, setting up machines to fix up the three men automatically. Pressing a few buttons on a computer monitor, the machine immediately began working on fixing the men's wounds. "I'll be back." He said to them. "Hopefully, when you do, you're all not filled with holes."

Another round of chuckles.

Alex ran quickly down the corridor, and up the elevator to the kitchens. He could hear the grumbles and moans as everyone tried to collect themselves after the captain's erratic driving. He ran past Bond who was moaning on the ground, clutching his stomach. "There's no blood, you're fine." The doctor grumbled as he neared the one in obvious need of his attention.

"You damn fool," He said sliding to Eddie's side. "I just fixed you up! What the hell?" He wrapped his arms around Eddie's front, letting the back of the pilot's head rest against the doctor's chest. He quickly climbed to his feet, pulling the pilot with him. "I swear to all the things, if I patch you up and in the next two hours your back in my infirmary, I will kill you."

Alex dragged Eddie back towards the elevator, kicking Bond's foot as he went. "On your feet, I need your help."

Regina

Reggie had barely stepped foot off the elevator before she was greeted by the hacking child. "Your A.I. said you wanted me. What's up?"

"Ah, yes." She said moving past him. "It looks like I am in need of your skills." She ran a hand through her hair and turned back to the small boy. "The Nightwing is registered under the Intergalactic Council." She looked down at him. "I need you to change that."

She turned and continued walking, but gestured for him to follow. "We will need to still make port, but we can't do that unless we're a registered ship. So, the Nightwing can't exist. And neither can I. But the ship, and it's captain, must."

She stopped and leaned forward, so she was eye level with him. "Does that make sense?" She smiled down at him, hoping to convey that she want the Nightwing to be registered under a different name, and under a different captain. She nodded her head once and then stood straight.

"When you're ready, meet in the hangar. I will be taking us all down to the surface shortly."

She turned and continued on down the corridor. "Who's in charge around here?" Reggie stopped in her tracks, confused by the sudden voice in her ship. She rounded the corner, and rammed straight into another body.

"Ah," She stated seeing Dia a bit more sober than before. "Has someone finally sobered up?" She asked with a smile.

Bond

Minn's eyes conveyed nothing more than confusion. And then...solidity.

Swallowing, he watched her murmur and work, his brain zipping through a million thoughts. This was bad.

When the doctor arrived, he shook out of his thoughts and responded by standing, with a groan, and helping him get Eddie into the elevator. His eyes found Minn before they left the kitchen though, her back to him, but her mind racing no doubt. Shit...

His head pulsed with unknown pain. It wasn't like a headache, more like a crack had suddenly been revealed to him. All he knew was that he needed to be alone. Eyes unfocused as they rode the elevator back to the infirmary, Bond wondered and wondered, head pulsing and fingers itching to move. The yellow screwdriver was in his pocket. All he needed to do was...

Like being snapped in the face, he jolted a bit as the elevator came to a stop.

For a moment, he didn't move. Then a smile broke out on his face as he shook his head. "Minn's a crazy one," he chuckled, seemingly out of his daze. "Gunna have to teach her better fighting though. Barely bruised me."

His smile turned to the doctor and he winked. "Probably should give me a once over though."

Dia Walked down the hallway with a chipper mood about his step. He hoped he wasn't he against his own will, as if to assume he really had any kind of clear thought as to what his will was. He looked momentarily down at his Sfair's and rubbed them gently with his thumbs. It was exactly then that a lovely girl ran into him and he into her.

"Ah, has someone finally sobered up?"

"You look so familiar..." Dia muttered barely to himself.

He coughed slightly as he regained his thoughts.

"My name is Dia and you are very familiar to me! How might we be of each others acquaintance?" He said as he bowed attempting to kiss her hand.

Alexander

After carrying Eddie down to the infirmary, Alex placed the pilot onto one of the beds. The other three crew members had been properly patched up and went merrily on their way with no scars. Eddie's stitches had come open, of course.

The doctor rolled his eyes and immediately got the machine set up to fix him. They got to work easily, a small laser beam shooting out towards the open wound and healing and sealing the skin, leaving no trace of a scar.

"Let's get you looked at, yeah?" Alex asked looking over at Bond. After lifting his shirt, the doctor did make note that there wasn't even a bruise on his stomach from where Minn kicked. He looked to be fine.

"I'm sure you're alright." He mused. "I'm sure you've taken many kicks to the stomach." He chuckled.

Regina

Reggie smiled and gave a nervous chuckle as Dia's lips pressed to her hand. She felt a blush creep up across her cheeks, but she quickly shook it away removing her hand from his. She chuckled nervously again, but quickly settled back into her serious state.

"Well, Dia, you've been hired by me." She stated stepping past him, but making it obvious that she wanted him to follow. She stopped and turned quickly and added, "you're a stripper." in a serious tone.

After a brief second, she smiled and chuckled quietly before turning to walk again. "I'm the captain of this ship, and was in need of a few replacements in my original crew." She felt a pang in her chest when she mentioned her crew, her thoughts immediately racing to Colin.

She could still see him in her mind, as if she were looking right at him, pleading for her to open the door and let him in. To save him.

Reggie shook again, running a hand through her hair. "Although," She added turning to face him. "I feel like I've known you before." She squinted at him, as if hoping the blurred vision would help her recognize the familiar face. It didn't help.

Where have I seen him before? I know I have. Dammit all.

"Now that you're a bit sobered up," She began with a chuckle. "Why don't you tell me about yourself. You will be on my crew. I need to know a few things."
