The Nochi Mansion

Introduction

Let’s face it; we all fail sometimes.

Okay, admittedly some of us fail more than others. So what? Failing gives people opportunities to improve themselves, leading them on the path to be a better person in life. But sometimes, even after you have failed many, many times, you can’t find the ‘right path’. You can’t pick yourself up again, and you can’t even scrape up enough inner strength fail again. You simply cannot do it anymore.

It’s when a person completely and utterly fails, when they no longer have either the strength nor the inclination get up and loose their way all over again. Whether it’s taken this person years of abuse and ridicule, or one single, crushing, defeat to get to this truly pitiful stage, it’s all the same.

They will come for you.

|| Introduction

’Crave’- a very popular local cafe, famous both for it’s coffee, cakes, and refined, yet welcoming atmosphere. But what truly makes this establishment successful is all of the ‘odd jobs’ that go on behind the scenes. And, of course, the staff.
Image
Getting to the subject of the ‘odd jobs’ later, we’ll get started on the subject of Crave’s very special staff. The first unusual thing about Crave would be how very close all of the help seem to be. You see, not only do they all live together in a residential floor above the shop, but never is a employee seen by themselves, never spending time with anyone outside of Crave.

Nobody in town recognizes them; it seems like they had all just appeared one day, out of the blue.

Now, cutting down to the chase, the employees of Crave are all the aforementioned failures. All of them have mistakes; horrible, horrible mistakes. They have been dealt the hard hand in life, and well, they have problems. Of the mental variety. None of them could be called ‘normal’; all of them are very strange, very unique people. The Head of Crave knows this, and purposely snatched them from the deepest pits of despair. He knows what kind of strength can come from the broken ones.

And, well, he needs strong people to work for him... and survive.

You see, the ‘odd jobs’ that are up for commission vary drastically. Some could be as simple as helping an old lady do her grocery shopping, while others may be something as illegal as breaking and entering. A current popular request is assassination (don’t worry, Crave has many connections, and they're very good at 'cleaning things up' if need be). Oh, and of course we can’t neglect the shop.

The Head of Crave knows one thing about his hand selected staff; they will do anything not to fail again. Of course, having such horrible luck as they do, every commission is bound to come across some sort of... difficulties.

Basically, you will play one of these unfortunates who have been ‘rescued’ by the Head of Crave. Yes, there are a couple of other roles, but I’ll go into more detail about that later. Anyways, this roleplay is about the failures trying to ‘find the right path’, because until then, they are basically bonded servants to the Head of Crave. What makes this roleplay exciting is the commissions, the characters, and their interactions with each other.

|| Just To Clear Things Up....
I’ll be answering questions here, and I’ll be posting various bits and pieces of information here.

Current Events:
!Always Accepting Characters!
): No Commissions Up Yet :(

||It’s currently fall, the weather is chilly, but dry so far.||

-Yes, all of the Crave employees live together in the same building. Everyone get’s their own rooms... but there are no locks.

-Nobody has seen the Head, but his orders are given in his stead by the manager (played by me).

-There are supernatural creatures, but I’d like to keep the staff relatively human. We can have one member of the staff be a half-human, half-????, but they will have to keep it a secret from their fellow employees.

-The setting is in an alternate modern day reality, where there are supernatural beings (who, by the way, frequent Crave) but the public is generally unaware of them. Also, this is a society where it is socially and legally acceptable to have bonded servants/slaves, if that tells you anything.

-This will be a comedic, supernatural, roleplay with darker under tones.

|| Roles

The roles are divided into three types; senior staff, junior staff, and others. All of the staff are humans made strong by their hardships, and all of them have their own specialized skills. There are level up opportunities, not through a point system, but if your character takes another step towards the ‘right path’.

Senior Staff
Generally a higher level, these guys have been working at Crave for quite some time now. Though not necessarily older than the incoming employees, they may or may not be intrigued by the ‘new blood’. They have more experience with the Crave systems. If you end up roleplaying one of these, you won’t have to deal with all of the confusion a junior staff-member will, but you will get bullying privileges. Also, they will know how to deal with the P.A.C., and will know about the existance of supernatural creatures.

Junior Staff:
These are the newbs, they have the needed skills, but their failures are far too overwhelming for them to preform their jobs effectively. The roleplay starts with their first day of working at Crave. This is the ‘default’ role, I kinda expect there to be more of these people, as there are more opportunities for getting to know other characters (senior staff already know each other), and more character development. Plus, while the seniors will be a tad more eccentric, the juniors will hopefully be more unusual personality-wise. They are screwed if they are attacked by the P.A.C., and may or may not know about the existance of supernatural creatures.

Other Roles:
Basically, if you just kinda come across this roleplay, and don’t have time to stay long-term, you can join as a commissioner. The other roles can be really fun to play, and even if you play one of the staff, you can take a break sometimes and play one of these guys. In reality, this is where a roleplayer could potentially find the most creative freedom. The sky’s the limit, but please PM me if you get too crazy. Also, no playing any commissioners until we get settled into the roleplay. The only ‘specified’ role is here....

The Particularly Annoying Customer: OPEN
If you are one of those comical, but dedicated RPers, then this may be the role for you. The P.A.C. is a very, very strange person who seems to always be around Crave. He is a regular, and the senior staff will be familiar with him, and will know how to fend him off. The juniors, on the other hand, are on their own. This guys sometimes seems to know a little too much about the ‘odd jobs’ for comfort, but never seems to do anything too extreme, so the staff can’t take action.

CHARACTER SKELLY

(INSERT FULL NAME HERE)
’ (NAME MEANING HERE)’

[img] (INSERT ANIME PIC HERE) [img]

Role:
(Senior, junior, other, P.A.C.)
Age:
(16-21, also include how long you’ve been working for Crave if senior)
Gender:
(I know how dumb this question is, but it’s needed)
Body Type:
(Basically a paragraph about your charrie’s body type. Please match the chosen specialized skill. An artist won’t be ripped, and a fighting guy won’t be skinny)

Physical Description:
(I know that sometimes pictures fit your character perfectly, but this is where you also put what kind of clothes they like, hair textures, and other things a picture can’t tell you)

Personality:
(Remember that the characters are all supposed to be interesting and unique, and hopefully clash with the personalities of the other characters. Juniors will typically be a bit more raw and negative (at least on the outside). At least three paragraphs)
Failure(s):
(Could be anything. Might have something to do with their specialty, probably has something to do with their problem, gimme at least a paragraph)
Problems(s):
(What is the big thing that’s keeping your character from taking the right path in life? Was it something in their past, just their personalities, or do they have an actual mental disease. Give as much detail as needed)

Specialty:
(Try your hardest to keep your specialty different from everyone else’s. This is what I look at when I’m assigning teams for commissions. Try to keep it to a skill, like ‘thieving’, or ‘culinary arts’)
Tools:
(what do you use to help you with your specialty? juniors will have normal, human tools, while the seniors will have a single one-fits-all magical item for their specialty. Remember that the amount of power your item has corresponds to the amount of year you’ve been at Crave)

Other:
(here, please put how you want your character to be seen by others. If you have a nice character, with a mean shell, but you don’t want anyone to see through the shell, put that here. Don’t be shy, and you can go ahead and put whatever else you like here as well.)

|| Rules

1. First and foremost, while I’m not some kind of grammar nazi, I would like readable, plot-moving posts. The posting limit is only 100 words, but I’d really like it if we could hit higher as much as we can!

2. I really, really, want this roleplay to survive. In order to do this, we need lots of OOC communication, so please stay active there (to me, this is more important than staying active IC).

3. IC posting, you only need to post as much as the situation calls for. If your just kinda sitting alone, I don’t really expect you to be posting a ton. On the other hand, if you accepted a commission OOC, I hope you’ll be online for the next few days....

4. As GM, I take certain liberties to keep the game going. This includes ghost-playing inactive characters (also, this way I can cover for you if real-life happens and you can’t log on), and booting players if need be.

5. Please follow the normal rules of RP (no making your character’s super powerful, no smut, you know...) Yes, this is a ‘mature’ RP, and while we are definitely here to have fun, please act mature.
