Description

Image

Name: Helena Neverwinter, though was referred to as 'Red' by the majority of her overseers for most of her imprisonment, making it something she has adopted as a moniker to distinguish herself from the 'original' Helena.

Age: 18

Relationship: Theoretically single, though she's not about to let Garrett know that she's not the girl he loves.

Abilities:

Berserkrgang
Like Helena and Kora she possesses the berserkrgang ability, and is able to use it in order to boost her fighting capability considerably. It is also thought to be the source of her impressive pain tolerance.

Perception Shift

She is a psychic like Lena, but appears to have a far greater command of it. She is able to manipulate the spiritworld to her own needs, and apparently even break the barrier between two worlds with it...but such feats must have some sort of cost?

Training: Unlike her counterpart, Red received no formal training, having been taken far too young for it. As a result while she has the same impressive strength as her counterpart, she lacks technique and refinement, relying on pure ferocity instead.

Personality:

Red is an individual shaped by years of isolation on the part of the Exsanguis...and the result is not too good.

She is principally focused on survival, but mostly her own survival, at the expense of anything and anyone else.

She possesses all of Helena's flaws, but to a far greater degree. She is highly selfish, resentful, and extremely jealous of others, particularly the other Delelgate kids...especially Helena. She loathes Helena for having the life she didn't, and feels that she deserves that life instead. That being said, she has a similar distaste for the other younger Delegates, thinking them spoiled, selfish, and weak.

Unlike Helena however, she is extremely crafty, sometimes devious in achieving what she wants. She can act and she can lie, but she is not a gifted manipulator. She lacks the social skill to be able to play people, and hasn't the capacity to look too far ahead. She can only maintain a web of lies for so long before it begins to implode on itself.

Beyond that, the hybrid has some clear psychiatric problems that she does her best to conceal for the most part. She suffers from vivid and often extremely violent hallucinations and has difficulty distinguishing fantasy from reality. She considers a lot of what she comes across in fiction to be true in some fashion and activately uses her flights of fancy as a means of avoiding problems and responsibility to a far greater degree than Helena did. She revels in childish things as some sort of attempt to retrieve the childhood she lot, but the result is often far more frightening than endearing. She is also prone to very violent mood swings, turning from extremely happy to enraged to depressive within moments, and her anger almost always results in some form of physical attack. She seems to see violence as a trivial matter, both towards others and towards herself, tending to have little concern for her own welfare as much as that of others.

The one soft spot Red seems to have is towards Helena's family members. She has fond memories of them in her own reality and a huge amount of affection towards them as she has gone so long without any family. She is unlikely to hurt any of the family and takes their thoughts and feelings more seriously than those of others.

She is, beneath these things, terribly afraid. She has a massive degree of fear and insecurity relating to her own life, and sees her actions as a last ditch effort at preserving herself from total annhilation. Red is terrified of going back to her own reality, the fear of it haunts her more than most things, and she would die....or kill in order to preserve her place. Something else seems to frighten her too. Something else she will not speak of.

Flaws:

- Red is terrified of being confined. After years of imprisonment she is fearful of anything that hints towards it. Locked doors, small spaces, and any variety of substances that might effect her performance are generally seen by Red as a personal attack and liable to cause her to lose her composure.

-She appears to be almost impervious to pain. This can serve as an advantage in some cases, but also a disadvantage in others, in that she cannot generally gauge the level of and injury she has sustained, and along with her tendency towards harming herself she is quite prone to causing herself problems.

-Red has had no training. As a result she is missing on a large number of things that most Delegates would see as common knowledge. She understands firearms, but only on a basic level, and has no idea of many of the systems Delegates use.

-She is unreasonably attached to the coyote toy. She thinks of it as her best friend and can be easily blackmailed into doing things by the threat of harm to the toy.

Political standing and likeability: N/A

History: This Helena Neverwinter was born into the same, bloody circumstances as her counterpart, cut from her mother by a vampire in a basement somewhere, and was rescued in the same violent, fiery fashion. It was after than that their lives began to diverge.

Midnight was killed and the organization was thrown into turmoil on that day, her own birth date marking the first battle of the war, the death of the head of the Northern Delegates, and the death of the unborn Selene and Jace.

From there, during Helena's first few years of life she was moved from pillar to post as the organization began to crumble under the weight of the conflict and more lives were claimed by the escalating violence. Initially she was too young to perceive or understand the gravity of the situation, and her parents did her best to protect her and her brother from it...but at age five she grew to fully understand it when she watched her mother killed.

Helena was taken and detained by the Exsanguis for use as a bargaining tool to keep the Neverwinters on side, but when Thea Neverwinter turned the family against the clan, that purpose fell through.

They were going to dispose of the girl when the Exsanguis realized that she had psychic abilities. They saw her as a means of increasing their capability to spy on others and see what their enemies were doing, and began trying to get her to tell them what she saw. When she was uncooperative they got a lot more insistent and forceful in their methods.

It was some years down the line that Helena, by then nicknamed 'Miss Red' completely snapped as a result.

The Exsanguis remained confident that they would still be able to tease answers out of her in the future, and so kept her around even after it was clear she'd suffered a breakdown, but they began to realize she was becoming progressively more difficult to control. Eventually, after repeated murders and mutilations of overseers and guards she was referred over to Nia Arian's facility as a means of containment...and from there she began to plot her escape...into a different timeline.

So begins...
