"Ʋи∂ɛяиɛαтн тнɛ Ѧαƨκ"

ImagePᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ: ♃ Independent ♃-Due to the fact that she had a lonely childhood, and continues to have a lonely adulthood(purely on her own) she had to learn how to survive on her own. Resulting in becoming independent. ♃ Determinded ♃- Not only will she do everything she possibly can to achieve her goals but once she sets her mind on a task, she will stop at nothing until it's completed. Even when she fails, she will try it again and again until she gets it right. Sometimes this can be her downfall, because she doesn't know when to quit. ♃ Calculating Scenarios♃- Jupiter not only thinks over every possible situation, she calculates the pros and cons to every different scenario. She tries not to involve her emotions in her facial expressions or her thought process, staying with a more logical way of thinking. ♃ Perceptive ♃- Jupiter always observes her surroundings, sailing at night especially. ♃ Quiet♃-Being picked on most her life for her beliefs, or her background caused her to start being a more quiet person. She learned not to talk about herself that much or to at least start keeping certain things to herself. It takes her a while to warm up to people and become a more talkative person. ♃ Skeptical ♃- Jupiter doesn't really trust what just anyone would say or who they are as a person. She always believes there is a secondary motivate.

Hɪsᴛᴏʀʏ: Jupiter was born in one of the cities above the water, a city that was destroyed shortly after she turned six years old. She then began her life on the sea. Her mother finding a quick job right away in a nearby city. Bringing up the past was always hard for Jupiter's mother, Juniper. That tragic day was hard to for Juniper to talk about because she lost her husband. Jupiter doesn't even know her father's name because she was so young when the tragedy occurred. Before she was twelve years old she knew how to properly sail, fish, stock fish in the her mother's shop, and take care of herself while her mother went on long fishing trips. While her mother was away on fishing trips Jupiter often adventured out, taking a ride with a local fisher man or following the local kids around.

One very special day, right before she was old enough to start fishing on her own, she had followed one of the local kids like always. Only this time they went all the way to the docks where Sea Folk were being dragged onto the decks in big metal cages. The adults on the docks poked the Sea Folk with spears and sticks, the kids threw rocks and yelled nasty words at them. Jupiter did not understand how humans could be so cruel, not understanding the situation she leaped out in front of the cage and stood in front standing her ground. From that day on she was made fun for standing up for them, causing the rest of her childhood to be lonely. It wasn't long that she was able go out on fishing trips by herself, and even got to go explore the open seas on her days off.

Wᴇᴀᴋɴᴇssᴇs: Swimming-She can swim, but not that well, this is one of her biggest weakness.
Aiming-She often misses her target, mostly small moving targets.
Social Anxiety- because she has different views than most humans, she is constantly being tormented and made fun of

Sᴛʀᴇɴɢᴛʜs: Strong Negotiator-Able to not only make herself a better deal in the market place, but in the open waters also.
Excellent Map Reader-Sailors intution
Fast Reflexes-Whether it's throwing a spear, or dodging a fist she can usually predict the next move.

Qᴜɪʀᴋs:Singing-she sings quietly to herself while she works or sails and she sings loudly when she is nervous or scared.
Conversation with inanimate objects- randomly talks to inanimate objects.
Night Owl- She prefers to sail at night when most of the time the water is calm and most humans are too afraid of what the night brings to go out.

Bᴇʟɪᴇꜰs: Jupiter strongly believes the Sea Folk are just misunderstood creatures. She believes that they didn't ask for life, it was just magically given to them. She believes it is wrong that humans have shunned Sea Folk and is determine to show the human race the good in them, even if it kills her. However it is becoming very hard for her to continuing doing this as most of them want to attack her on site. Sometimes her depression over wins her good intentions

The seas were everywhere, not a speck of land could be found. Here in the East Pacific was a large harbor city, the capital of the local ocean. Within were traders, merchants, fishermen, and people of many different histories and stories to tell. In one such part of the city was a merchants square, this is where Samael currently was to bring in his latest haul of fish to sell.

He spoke to him like he knew the man well, being surface dwellers they were used to this kind of commerce.

ImageImage "Jupiter! Jupiter! Wake up! There is work to be done!" The covers were pulled off of Jupiter in her slumber, startling her awake. She dreamed of a far away island where no one would tease her, where she could live happily. Blinking her eyes she groaned as a small light sensitivity headache started to form from behind her eyes. She had just gotten in from a fishing trip the night before, with little too no sleep she dragged herself off the bed. Her mother started yelling at Jupiter in a foreign language. Jupiter didn't bother to learn her mother's 'secret' language, the old woman was nuts.

"Ma! I get it! I'm a grown adult quit lecturing me!" Jupiter yelled back at her mother, who had another mouth full to say about that. Jupiter rubbed her temples before shooing her mother away so she could get ready for the day. "That woman is going to be the death of me." She said to herself as she started getting dressed in her usual jumpsuit, pulling her brown shoes up. She walked to the black stone bowl she had sitting on her desk, sitting beside it was a matching black stone vase with a spout on the top. She lifted it up by the oval shaped handle and tipped it over, watching the water pour out into the bowl. Jupiter then washed her face, and ran water through her hair to make it cleaner. Since this was the only form of bathing she would get for the next couple days.

Jupiter left the house in a hurry thanks to her mother, she dragged along a cart full of her catch from her ship to her mother's shop at the marketplace. She was greeted by several neighbors that knew her as only her mother's daughter. However the ones that knew that she stood up for the sea folk all those years ago still to this day gave her strange looks. However her mother had paid them very well to keep their mouths shut, Jupiter still had a feeling whispers about her always followed. Once she would get to her mother's stand, she would stock her baskets and repeat the whole process.

"Alright, Ma. That's the last load. You should be good for a couple days." Jupiter said as she wiped the sweat from her forehead before it got in her eye.

"Your not my only employee Jup, go enjoy the rest of your week." She said, handing her a pouch, heavy of coins. Jupiter smiled, proud of herself for a much larger profit. She hugged her mother goodbye and headed back for her boat, wanting to get out to sea before too many people came out to the docks.

Not too far from Jupiters boat was Samael's own fishing boat, appropriately made for someone like him. After he had finished business with the merchant he boarded it. A look of experience, of knowing exactly where he was going was present on his face.

Jupiter happily skipped to her boat, her backpack filled with the usual but also a large amount of food for the rest of the week. She hoped all this food would last her for entire trip, not wanting to come back to the market for a while. In this case she had planned to visit an island not too far from here. Most fishermen have cordoned the island due to empty traps and nets, currently the closest a boat could get to the island was 2 miles only from the south of the island. Every other direction was nothing but large mountain clifs, no possible way of getting onto the island from any other side, than the open beach to the south.

Much to Jupiter's knowledge-and because she is way to curious for her own good she knew that this island had two sandbars so far. She had not yet made it to the actual island yet. The first sand bar was covered in long sharp rocks, that made it impossible to swim through and made it hard to get a boat across without damaging it. The next 500 yards were these sharp rocks, however because Jupiter is a very small human she was able to find a path to swim through, from there she would paddle board the rest of the way.

As Jupiter turned up the dock she knew her boat was stationed at she saw a familiar boat a couple before hers or down the row from her, depending where one was standing on the docks. As Jupiter's eyes rose from the boat to the man on the boat she smiled to herself. How does a man that old look that good? Jupiter thought to herself as she ran into a tall wooden pole-she almost fell off the dock in the process-gracefully trying to recover.

This attracted Samael, curious of what that smacking sound was. He looked over to see Jupiter flat on the dock after apparently ran right into the pole. Surprisingly despite his stoic appearance he found this to be quite amusing and give a quick smirk. "Trying to be easier prey for the sharks?" He asked from across his boat in a sarcastic tone.

As Jupiter rubbed her forehead, mentally shaming herself. Jupiter stood up dusting herself off, just as Samuel spoke. She laughed out loud, it was a shaky laugh. "Ha, yes. I've given up on society and have decided to feed myself to the fishes!" She joked sarcastically back at Samuel, smiling. "No, I think my lack of sleep is catching up with me. I'll sleep when I'm dead." She shrugged, her arms going up then back down, her hands slapped against the sides of her legs.

He let out a hearty laugh at her joke, his smile quite prevelant. "Keep that up and the sea folk will see to that." He gave a single glance to the water, though he meant it as a joke he was quite aware of how dangerous the sea monsters and their kin are.

Wes pulled his steam powered boat into the dock city. He'd been away for a few months, but it had been a fruitful journey. He had managed to get his hands on several relics on this trip which he planned to trade, well at least a few of them, the others he still planned on studying.

After tying up his boat to the docks, Wes stepped off with a large canvas sack thrown over his back. He walked past Samael and Jupiter.

"Sam!" He greeted with his typical big smile. "Long time no see. How's business these days? Remind me to stop by your stand later, I got something you might be interested in. I'll also need to stock up on fish for my next trip." He said as he passed by and headed to the market square to do some trading of his own if he could find some one interested.

  1. FYI when I said he had a fruitful journey, I meant he was able to get a lot of relics, fruitful didn't mean literal fruit

Jupiter smiled at Samuel's joke about the sea folk hearing her. "I won't be surprised if they are watching our every movements." She replied with a genuine smile. She looked out at the sea and recalled a time she was first beaten up by the other kids her age because she was different. She shook the imagine of that horrible day out of her head as another gentleman came by and greeted Samuel. After he continued on with his way, her eyes fell back to Samuel. "It was nice chatting with you. Be safe out there." She told him before she skipped away, rushing to her boat which was still in vision and probably conservation from Samuel's boat.

Jupiter made her way inside her little house, putting the food she had just gotten away in their little cabinet space. She secured the cabinets with rope that was mounted in the hard wooden walls of her tiny house. She had her giant cloth door to her one room open, her small bed was folded away so the room didn't appear to look like a bedroom. This was one of her favorite boats, her mother always told her to have a back up, sadly Jupiter's back up didn't have a living courtiers for her, so she'd have to return to her mother's home everyday.

"Aye, a safe journey to you." He spoke those last words to her before she departed, getting his own boat ready to go. His boat was quite a relic for the time, a bit beaten up but looked seaworthy enough to last for months.

Wes quickly found his way to a small stand at the center of town with the other shopkeepers. Another young man about his same age was tending to the stand and greeted Wes with a big smile.

"Wes! Good to see ya, man. You tell the boss that you're back yet?" The guy asked.

"Hey Tony! No, not yet. I just pulled in. I was hoping to get back out as soon as possible, I got some good leads on the legendary beasts and some possible information from the old world. I'm just stopping here to do some trading and get enough food to make the journey."

"Better let him know you're here or he'll charge you double for rental space."

"On my way there now." Wes smiled as he found his way to a small little shanty where he just walked in. The door opened into an office where a short fat little man sat going over paperwork.

"Ah, hello Wes. Back from your last journey I see. Did you find anything good?"

"Yup, just here looking to rent a stand for about two weeks at the most. Gonna unload then get back out there."

"Well what have you got for me?"

Wes took the bag off his shoulder and rummaged through it before he pulled out a small, grey, rectangular, plastic device with a small square in the center made of a transparent plastic. He set the thing down on the desk.

"According to my source, this was a portable electronic video game device called a 'Game Boy'. A cartridge with a game would be inserted into the slot on the back and a video game would appear on the screen."

The fat man picked up the device and looked it over.

"Okay, this should cover a few weeks of rent. You can take stand 4-B."

"Thanks boss." He said before leaving the office and heading to his stand and spreading his treasure across it.

Jupiter was fast putting her items away, careful not to break anything she had just gotten. She double checked that everything was well tied down and pulled the massively thick door down, scrapping her elbow as it came down, slamming into place. She winced, rubbing her elbow as she made her way around the boat, getting ready to go back out to sea. Her journey was not far, an hour or two at longest away from where her mother lived. She was excited to go to the island that so many fishermen and adventurists had given up on.

The unnamed island had been on her mind for months, this trip was everything to her. Nobody had been able to get their boat within close enough range to this island and then been able to wiggle through the sharp rocks. Thankfully Jupiter was on the small side, she had gone as close as the second sand bar, but today she would be able to walk those beaches. Her curiosity often got the better of her, however today she was determined to figure out what exactly was living there, what resources-if any- could she salvage there? The different possibilities that came to mind were endless.

Vrillus saw a boat start to head off into a distance. A human, isolated from the others, that he could drag down into the depths. Perfect.
Vrillus quickly swam over and leaped onto the boat. "Soroth jok no!" he shouted in the sea monster language, brandishing his spear. Die human!
