Biography: Finch is from a world known as Gale, similar to this one save for its technological advancements. These are limited, however, to advancements in the field of flight and aeronautics, such as early planes, airships, etc. His father was part of the crew of one of these airships, and would often regale him with stories of far-off lands. Even at a young age, Finch knew he wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps and see the world. Just after his tenth birthday, his father left on a voyage with his crew and never returned. It was eventually assumed that their ship had been destroyed in some way or another and the crew had been killed, but Finch continued to hold onto the small hope that his dad was still alive somewhere. At age fifteen he got a job as as assistant mechanic and found work on an airship similar to the one his father worked on. Despite his skills, he was often looked down upon because of his age, leading him to do anything and everything to prove his worth.
