On a trip to an old haunted mansion, a group of teens find a strange portal in the basement of the house. The portal leads to another world in a different dimension. The world is full of crystal forests and scary being. They will find intelligent beings there, but not all are friendly. There is a city for humans who have gone through the portals all around the world but cant get back. After a week in the otherworld humans cannot leave it anymore. Those who actually wish to stay are turned into a humanoid creature that inhabites the otherworld. The people imprisoned in the otherworld live in the Crystal City and dont change. They dont age much either. The Otherworld grants immortality and everyone stops aging at the age of 25. The only safe place for visitors is the Crystal City.
Humans have limited but some magical power in the Otherworld. When untransformed humans die, they resurrect at a life crystal in the city.

Intelligent races: The intelligent races of the Otherworld were formerly human but decided to change and integrate into the new world.

Elves: Elves are human friendly beings with a slender build and pointy ears.

Angels: Angels are called so because of their white wings. They only look beautiful and human at daylight. But when night falls they turn into grotesque winged beasts which attack humans outside of the Crystal City.

Machines: The machines were also formerly human but they have many forms. They have a main human form but also other mechanical forms. When in mechanical forms they make a slight humming sound because of their crystal powered engines. They eat crystals.

Nymphes: The nymphes are beautiful creatures which turn out to be morelike succubi. They lure humans with their beauty and singing only to drink their blood. They avoid killing the humans.

Dwarves: Female dwarves are rare. The dwarves are allied with the humans. They are good craftsmen and are the architects of the Crystal City. Their size often is between 3 and 5 feet in height. Compared to fairy tales they arent as heavy weight as stories tell. They are more like short humans.

Gnomes: Gnomes are ugly beings who dont exceed 2 feet in height. They are often thieves living in underground burrows. In a fight they wouldnt stand a chance against humans.

Trolls: Trolls are not the best looking creatures but friendlier than a neko can get. They are often around 8 feet tall and coexist with humans in the crystal city and surrounding settlements.

Nekos: Nekos are a common sight in the Otherworld. Especially in the Crystal City. When it comes to danger, they are cowardly creatures who would rather hide than fight. They look like humans with cat ears and a tail. They often wear collars with pendants or bells.

The twisted: The twisted are freaks of nature and are often either hideous beasts or floating three dimensional objects. They are very hostile among humans and it is dangerous if a floating crystal cube traps you because they often shrink rapidly in order to crush and consume you.
