~Age: He was taken to the Lab at five years old. He had no way to keep time, but if he did he would be about 17.
~Gender: Male
~Mutation:
Sound- Amp was originally born with a small ability to control the sounds around him, and turn his voice into an almost tangible object. Throughout his time at The Lab, and all their torturous tests, he was improved his abilities greatly. He is able to turn mere sound into an unseen tangible object, or weapon of his choosing. He can manipulate the sound to do his bidding, be it unlocking a door, building a shield around himself, or making a weapon to kill someone.
Hearing- While at The Lab the scientists preformed multiple tests and experiments. His range of hearing is better than most animals, he can hear everything that is going on in a building; from footsteps to voices to the tiniest echoes, and he can hear them all. With concentration he can extend his hearing abilities to hear farther than just inside the building. He can hear across long distances. Due to a recent experiment, one containing a metal chair and lots of electricity, his mind was pushed farther and his hearing even more greatly improved. He is now able to hear inside the minds of the people around him, and talk back with them if he so wishes to do so.
~Weaknesses:
Ampās main weakness his that he is scared. He had been in The Lab for most of his life and itās all he remembers, he is naturally scared and timid. He wonāt readily use his abilities because he has been beaten so many times for using sound when the scientists or guards didnāt want him to.
His other weakness is Blast. It may not seem like it but Blast is a weakness to Amp and vice versa. Blast is more hard headed and gets himself into trouble a lot. He is the alter ego of Amp and rushes into things too fast for his own good. All together, having a split personality in general is a weakness to both personalities.
While using his sound both Blast and Amp get tired easily. This is also due to the fact that they have been held in captivity for most of their lives. It takes a lot of concentration to get sound to do what they want it to and they donāt always get it right. Trying to control something that is always moving on its own, is really hard in their current state and it will take time for them to be able to extend their power.
~Description:
He has a mess of unruly shaggy hair at the top of his head. Most of the dark black locks hang down in front of his eyes. He hasnāt cared much to attempt to tame the hair, there was need for it and so he never cared. It will stand in odd directions or plaster itself to his face. Despite never once putting a brush through it, his hair looks nice the way it is. Some people need their hair put up a certain way in order for it to look like they donāt have a rats nest on their head. Amp on the other hand, looks as if his hair is perfectly messy to the point to where it looks nice. It may be messy but it fits him and he isnāt likely to change it now.
His eyes are a bright, almost electric blue. Depending on whether Blast or Amp is in control, his eyes will be a different shade of blue. When Amp is controlling the actions, his eyes are almost a light pale blue. This is from his nicer and more timid personality. His eyes arenāt threatening, they are more open and let people knew of his emotions. His eyes range in the pale blues, from a bright sky blue while heās happy to a light grey blue while he is sad. People say that the eyes are the window to the soul, this is true for Amp, his eyes show his emotions and so, part of his soul. On the other hand, when Blast is the one in charge, his eyes are a deep blue like depths of the ocean on a clear day. His eyes are more guarded and reserved. His eyes donāt have much of a range in colors but at most, his eyes will turn darker to almost black while he is angry. His isnāt one to have much happiness as neither Amp nor Blast has had any kind of happiness in their lives. If he was to get some sort of glee, it would be from one of the guards or scientists finally getting what they deserve, in this case his eyes would be an almost clear ocean blue instead of the deep dark blue.
He is build is small, at the moment anyway. Due his time in captivity, from all the beatings, tests, experiments, and malnourishment, he is almost a living skeleton, as most of the other experiments are. He isnāt very strong because he was never given much chance to improve his strength. At most he can flee for his life, but in his current state, he has almost no muscle and would not be much use in a fight. Most of his energy to get through the tests the scientists put him through, came from adrenaline and the will to stay alive. Even though that will was almost nearly broken several times during his imprisonment. Because it did break once, Blast is more able to carry on than Amp is. Blast seems to find energy from nowhere and seems to have more physical strength than Amp does. They have yet to figure out that sound is a type of energy and that they can access it.
He has many scars that crisscross around his body, each of them having their own type of cut. There are the scares from straight knives cutting across his skin. There are the jagged scars from all the torturous instruments from the cells down below used to cause just pain without much damage. There are also the various scars from his multiple times for being in The Games. Ranging from claws to teeth to spikes and weapons, each opponent was different and each one left its mark on him before they were killed by another or by his own hands. Each one he killed he remembers, itās hard to forget their faces when you know who each scar came from. From being inside and rarely seeing the sun, his skin is a lot paler than it should be. This helps with the scars somewhat, the pale helps to hide the small ones that trace across his body. But the large and deep set scars are hard to hide and are only faded by his fair complexion.
Over everything he normally wears baggy clothes that hang off of his small frame. The large plain T-shirts drape over his torso and help to not make him look as skinny as he, in reality, truly is. To match the baggy shirt, he normally has on baggy jeans that he has to pull up every once in awhile to keep them from falling off of his nonexistent hips. In the Lab there was no reason to wear shoes since they were always inside and the floors were tiled and cleaned regularly; at least in the hallways they were. The only other article of clothing that he obtained was a white bandana that he has wrapped around his head. Amp will usually wear it low and over his ears to block some of the sounds from hearting his ears, letting his unruly hair hang in his eyes. Blast will usually push it higher up on his forehead, to hold back his hair and so he can see more clearly the things around him.
~Personality:
Because of the issue with two personalities, Amp and Blast are two different people though they are in the same body, have the same abilities and now know everything the other knows. Sometimes it is hard for them to get along because of their contrasting view points and constantly different ideas on how to approach a problem. When this happens, which it does, they will argue with each other and sometimes fight for control. When this happens, it looks as if they might be mad in the insane and crazy sense. They will fight for control and therefore both be speaking through the body, either at the same time or arguing where it looks as if he is yelling at the wall, and having a conversation with himself. But when the issues arenāt too bad, they will talk with each other inside their minds.
Amp is basically the more timid and scared half of his personality. He was the first and original person to be brought into the Lab. He had long since forgotten his real name and was dubbed, Amp by the guards because at most, he could amplify the sounds around him. He wonāt rush into anything that is put up in front of him. He will wait, watch, and learn in order to find the best way to get around the problem and hopefully avoid it all together. He is also the more isolated of the two. It takes time to get Amp to trust you and he will rarely speak openly to others he doesnātā know or finds as a threat. Based on his size and fighting abilities, he finds many people a threat.
Blast is almost the exact opposite of Amp. He was created to be that way. After some very brutal beatings and having his will to live broken, Amp was ready to die right then and there. Fortunately, he fell unconscious but his alter ego popped up. His eyes grew dark and his whole body seemed to change. He looked meaner and tougher, and he got mad. Which Amp had never done before, anger was beaten out of him, so Blast was created to be his anger for him. Blast knew what he was there for and tried protecting Amp as much as he could, while Amp thought he was only blacking out and having time lapses. Unfortunately, Blast goes towards things head on and tends to get himself into trouble a lot with his snide comments and constant teasing of those who would beat him up. He is mean to those he doesnāt like and will do what he can to make sure that others donāt like them as well.
Besides having their personalities on exact opposites, they do share a few common, ideals. They will both help to protect those they have befriended and they wonāt normally leave anyone behind. Although their reasons on such actions are different and the outcome may seem as if one cares and the other does not, itās just that their perception of what is more important at the moment is different. They will also help others in any way they can. But deciding who to help and how much care to give them is another matter for them to squabble about.
Amp is the kind of person that would go back help a person almost no matter the consequences or the circumstances. He doesnāt like people being left behind for any reason or being hurt for no reason. He will do what he can to make sure the person gets safe and out of harmās way. This doesnāt necessarily mean that he will trust the person, he wonāt, at least not until it has been proven to him that this person is trustworthy. But he will make sure that no person is harmed too badly if he can help it.
Blast on the other hand has some standards that dictate whether or not he will go help someone. He will judge whether the person is worth helping, he thinks about what the person could have done to get in their situation and if the whole thing was avoidable. Like if someone is trapped in a burning building, he would think if the person was able to get out before the flames reached them, or if it was nearly impossible for them to do so. He wants to make sure that people take responsibility for their actions. This makes him seem a little cruel at times but in reality he just thinks that the person could have prevented their situation and therefore he doesnāt need to help them.
~Fears:
Having been in The Lab for most of his life, Amp has many fears and phobias. He is constantly scared that someone will come and beat on him. From his size, almost everyone is larger than he is, he will flinch away from people coming towards him, and if they make any movement that he sees could contain any form of hate or malice, and he will cower and try getting away. It has become almost instinct to protect himself from any possible threat towards him.
Trypanophobia, or the fear of needles. Many of the mutants and subjects from the Lab have this fear. Itās from the many times they have been shot at with tranquilizers and needles jammed into their arms for the experiments and testing. At the site of needles he will either, freeze and stand stock still if he is Amp, or if he is Blast, he will immediately try and get himself out of the room or far away as he can. If faced with the situation that the needle is near them and the intent if for them to get a shot, no matter the kind, they will both try as much as they can to both get the person with the needle away and find a way to shatter the needle.
Agoraphobia, the fear of open spaces. From being raised inside a six foot by six foot room his whole life, Amp and Blast both find the outside world very strange. There is so much to look at and so many new things that they donāt know what it is. At least in the Lab they knew what things were and what to expect. On the outside, they are lost and there is just so much to take in that being in a huge open space is almost as bad as being in a small room.
Even though they have a fear of the large open spaces they donāt like being in too small spaces either. This is from being in the bottom cells in the basements of the Lab for the subjects that āmiss behaved.ā Claustrophobia stems from this, being the fear of small spaces. They donāt like the small places because they donāt want to be reminded of what went on in the cells.
Merinthophobia or the fear known as the fear of being restrained. This arose from the scientists many tests and experiments. They were strapped, cuffed, and shackled to whatever the scientists or guards decided to use; a wall, a chair, the table, sometimes even the floor. They would be forced to be still and go through whatever tortures an experiments the scientists and concocted for them that day. If they see restraints the memories will come to the front of their mind and force them to start shaking almost uncontrollably. Amp would mostly have control in these times, he will do what he can to stay away from any type of restraints, and there are too many bad memories that go with them. Neither he nor Blast can stand the site of them for too long without their mind shutting down or falling unconscious.
Another fear they have is white coat hypertension. This is basically the fear of white coats, this is because all the scientists wear one and being around them for so much of your life, the white coat to most mutants is the symbol of a scientist and many will flee from a person wearing one. This will set off all the others fears since this is the main fear were the others can be brought up to. This main fear will bring back the memories involving all the other fears and this can seriously break a person mentally. Amp and Blast, if either were to see a white coat they would most likely either kill the person or run straight for the nearest exit. If they were forced to be in the presence of a person in a white coat, even if it was to help them, it would get them lost in memories and would be hard to get their minds back to the reality in front of them.
He has a small case of Necrophobia arose from all those he has killed in The Games. Most have become numb to the task of killing a living being, but that would happen to anyone if they were regularly forced to do so in order to save their own life and to the entertainment of others. Even though they feel no compassion to the act of killing, they do feel remorse for it and are constantly reminded of what they have done and are fearful of the dead. Seeing someone die is fine with them, many have died in front of their faces and the only part they fear is seeing the dead and having the faces stuck in their mind every day after.
Amp and Blast also have terrible night terrors. Several mutants, who have not been able to disassociate themselves from the situation around them, have terrible constant nightmares while they sleep. There are the terrible ones that include all the various tortures and some of the more gruesome killings and activities in The Games. With the bad nightmares he will wake up screaming bloody murder and his whole body shaking. On those nights he wonāt let a single person touch him and will most likely create a large barrier around himself with the scream. The normal nightmares of a few experiments and beatings will just cause him a restless sleep and he will most likely wake up looking more tired than he was before.
~History:
Amp was not born in the Lab. He was born in the outside with normal parents. He had shown at an early age that he had a gift for sound. His new born baby screams would shatter glass and break the windows in the house. As he got older, his abilities became harder to handle, he would cause people to get hurt. Some people say that simple words can be daggers to a personās heart. Amp had been able to physically turn his spoken words into daggers and weapons. He was taken from his home at the age of five and was taken to the Lab to be studied and experimented on. While at the Lab, the days seemed to either blur together or last for years on end. Only a few major things had happened to him while he was at the Lab. One was after a few tests that improved his hearing, unfortunately after a few more, his hearing was improved too much and he almost went mad with the simple sounds of someone talking to him gently. The major event of his life was when Blast came about, it was a brutal beating and he had fallen unconscious, so he thought. Blast had actually taken over and stood up for Amp, he became his unseen protector. But because of his more forthright attitude, he was taken more often to the cells for āmiss behaving.ā The next event was a recent experiment done on Blast. He was cuffed to a metal chair, in a sound proof room. The electric cords connected were turned on and the dial was put on high. This shattered the mental block that was between Amp and Blast, and also allowed them to focus their energy and use it to listen to others peopleās thoughts.
