Description

Image
~Name: Carmine Quenell

~Age: She may be one of the few people who grew up in the lab to know her exact age. 27

~Gender: Female though her actions would make sense for a man.

~Skills:From growing up in the Lab her skills aren’t those of normal women her age. She learned quickly to not feel remorse, pity or sympathy. Through this she learned to better her torture techniques, ignoring the screams, the moans, the pleas for help, all she focused on getting was the information or getting out her anger. She is quite inventive of her techniques, and so she has had her own weapons and toys made just for her. One of which is her glove. A specially made devise made of many different blades, each one stitched on precisely. On the inside it is silky smooth metal, cool to the touch and fitted perfect to her hand. While the outside is quiet different than that, each blade faces out, making the glove a slicing pro. The slightest touch with cause a thin line of blood to appear on the skin and if used just right, the glove can cause you pain for days on end before you finally die of blood loss a week or two after Carmine has started with you. (I will add more as her other toys are revealed)

Another skill is her weapons skills. She is adept at throwing knives; she has found many ways to hide her knives and is able to reach them quickly. She will not easily miss a target with her knives unless she is unable to see the target or is greatly disabled.

Image
~Description: Carmine is like any other woman; she has all the right curves in all the right places. She gets a lot of attention from the guards, they think because of her good looks she is willing but they are wrong when they end up the ones down in the torture chambers. She is like a poisonous flower, she has all the good looks and enticing moves but when you approach, she will not hesitate to cut you down without remorse. She takes great offence to men coming at her uninvited, she does not let anyone dominate except for her, that is her job and that is where she is going to stay if she has anything to do with it.

Because she rarely leaves the Lab her features are close to the mutants despite her position as the Lab’s director. She has light colored skin from not being outdoors often. She spends most of her time inside her study/office, in the experiment rooms or down in the torture chambers. Once in awhile she will go outside, this will usually be her taking matters into her own hands and going after whatever it was that the others could not obtain. Rarely will she go outside for her own desires like tanning or watching a sunset. If she did go outside more often her skin would be more tanned than the pale dark skin she has.

She has a small frame that makes her look frail. Despite her small stature of five feet nine inches, she is a lot stronger than her body makes her look. She could very easily outrun the fastest guard and takedown the strongest guard within a few minutes. This is from the few modifications she had done to herself. Of course the serums and potions were tested on others first and perfected before she had them made for herself. Because of these modifications, she still has her small body, and at the same time has great strength, and healing.

Her face is stunning; many of the new guards and naive slightly older boys they bring in for experiments will stop and stare. With her high cheek bones and perfectly curved eyebrows, her eyes have a perfect frame to them. Her eyes look like onyx stones, dark black pools that usually feel as if they are staring into your soul. This is generally a literal statement, while torturing someone she will manage to get the information you keep closet to you, bring to light your most kept secrets. You won’t generally see a kind light in them, she has rarely shown anyone kindness and so her eyes will most likely flash shades of red when she gets REALLY angry.

Her hair frames her face nicely like black silk. She keeps her hair straight and long, it flows down her back to her bare waist. She has long bangs that will hang in her face once in awhile and covers one eye, when she is angry, or having fun she will push her bangs out of her face. While she is torturing someone she will generally pull her hair into a ponytail to keep it out of the way. Because it is so long she can’t always keep her hair from brushing over all the blood that comes from her tortures, from this the ends of her hair are permanently died a deep crimson red. If she were too cut her hair the ends would end up red in just a few days, and it seems as if her hair absorbs the blood color and reaches farther up her hair.

Her smile is ruthless as well; any type of smile from her usually contains no form of sincerity or mercy. Her smiles will come in response to someone being in pain by her hand, or her orders being carried out the way she intended them to be carried out. These are the only things that will make her in anyway happy. Someone being in pain will bring her the most glee and will be one of the times she will actually laugh. This laugh is not sweet or kind; it’s hard and will cause a shudder to go through someone who hears it.

Her clothes are quite promiscuous. Her tops are generally small and leave her unmarked torso bare. She has a few bracelets that she keeps on her arms, but otherwise they are bare also. She will most often wear small shorts or a short skirt to go with her small tops. If she ever feels the need to dress up, she will most likely wear a shortcut dress that hugs her frame and reaches down to the floor, a large slit up one side will expose her bare leg. Despite wear a small amount of clothes, she finds ways to hide her weapons within them. The weapons she keeps on her at all times are her knives, she can find any place to hide one and has had some great training on how to use them to the best of her ability.

Image
~Personality: Carmine has a few different sides to her. The one that people see and get the wrath from is her normal everyday attitude. She is easily provoked and irritated by simple things that wouldn’t normally set someone off. Little things like someone not coming to her right away will get her angry, or someone not doing as they were told. Most of her irritations come from people not moving fast enough, not doing what she tells them to do, or things not coming out the way she wants them to be. When she is made, you can tell just by the sound of her voice. She will yell, scream and her voice carries through the hall to alert anyone else that she is angry.

She has very few outlets for this anger and the most efficient technique that she has found is the use of torture. She will take her anger out on the mutants, beating them and even doing experiments on them herself without the use of a sedative or pain killer. Her anger fuels her torture techniques and possesses. She can very easily ignore people’s screams, moans, groans, and pleas for help. All she cares about is hearing the screams and getting the information she requested.

This is the only time you will see her twisted type of humour and adrenaline happiness. Causing pain to others will put a smile on her face and is the one thing that will calm her down for a few days if she gets really into it. Hearing that someone is screaming will send a glee through her that she doesn’t normally get anywhere else. Most are scared of her sense of humour because she will laugh at people’s pain. She finds the most entertainment out of the tortures that happen, and her second most favourite is watching the Games that she has the scientists put on regularly.

Rarely will she show anyone any type of sympathy or kindness. There is one exception to her cruel attitude, Eriyk. Carmine and Eriyk grew up together in the Lab and so she has a small soft spot for her favourite and head guard. He is the only one that is able to talk to her without the fear of being the target of her wrath and also knows her almost as well as she does. He finds her the best people she can torture, the right people to work right under her and everyone else he will instruct and carry out discipline unless Carmine is in a bad mood.

~Fears: Being raised in the Lab, her father being the old director, and seeing all the things going on since she was little, she has no fears to speak of. If she were forced to say that she had one, she would say it would be someone else taking over the Lab but she knows that her position is secure and there is no threat of the job as Director being taken.

Image
~History:Carmine’s father was the Director of the Lab; the position was passed down from father to son since the organization was created. Each director had the same type of personality, angry, mean and liked using people with and without their knowledge. Carmine was the last child born to one of her father’s toys. He was getting old and he had not had a son in many years. The last one he had he gave to the Lab for experiments along with all the others that had been born. He didn’t want to die without a child being the next Director and so he kept Carmine. She grew up in the white halls of the Lab, hearing the screams, and even being witness to some of the tortures since she was old enough to walk on her own. Since she was able to get around on her own, her father let her fend for herself so she would become tough and uncaring. She quickly learned the ways to get what she wanted and who would give her the things she wanted. One of them was Eriyk, she would spend a lot of time with him when he wasn’t training with his father or out on some type of mission that her father had ordered. She preformed her first torture when she was ten. She had her father behind her but she worked alone, and after two days, she had more information out of the traitor than her father had expected. Not long after that her father started teaching her about running the Lab, choosing the experiments, making sure things happened on time, ect, ect. While her father was getting older he still held great control over the Lab and still didn’t notice her as often. During this time she did have a few experiments preformed on herself. Of course none were done without them being tested on others first and being perfected. The first was used to improve her physical abilities, to make her stronger, faster, all without changing her nicely formed body shape. The second was to enhance and speed her healing process. She can now heal any type of injury without the need of medical help. Small cuts almost instantly disappear, large injuries like gunshots and broken bones fix themselves in about an hour. The longest it has taken her to heal was a few hours with a head injury, great blood loss and her side ripped open deep enough to see the white of her ribs. Her father became sickly and the workers were starting to organize themselves into small groups, feuding with each other about what to do. This was her time to take over, it took several months before everyone started to fear, respect, and accept her position. One of the main events that got people listening to her was when she put herself in the Games; it was her against a fire mutant, a tiger mutant, and an eagle mutant. When she won she gained the respect of many of the scientists and their workers. But the guards were still unwilling to accept her rule. The deciding factor with them was her against their commander, who at the time was still Eriyk’s father. These matches were much the same as the Games; it was a fight to the death for role of the leader. This was the first and last time she hesitated on anything, she didn’t want to kill the one she called uncle or her best friend’s father. But she knew that if she did this, she would have all the guards working under her and Eriyk wouldn’t have to fight to be the next commander, he would get the role automatically by birthright. She went through with it and won the intense fight that lasted for almost a week with very little breaks and time for nourishment in between. With that, she became the official Director of the Lab and her childhood friend became her commander of the guards.

"Thank you. . . ." The masked individual said with a foreboding edge in his voice, giving the guard a snarly glance before entering Carmine's office. His annoyance didn't show on his face, but was very clearly in his voice. The man did not enjoy being held up for any reason, be it legitimate or no. He marched into the spacious office and stared up at the woman standing above him. The woman's presence reeked of power and an imperial air, oh how Peter hated how it filled the room in an all-too oppressive manner, but he also admired it. Few people could run things as Carmine, the iron grip and unwavering mercilessness that she harbored were an inspiration as much as they were a kick in the pants to Peter. The masked man's blue eyes locked onto Carmine and his fists clenched in fury as she spoke.
"What did you want?"
That voice, so calm and in-control and so condescending. His already inflamed spirits grew only more angry. She didn't even recognize him; one of the senior members of the Lab and a fairly well-renowned one and she didn't even remember or even remotely respect him. Not that she would. Peter thought in the confines of his headgear. She's like damn royalty! He gathered himself in spite of this and sighed. His voice was dry and breathy, like he had been breathing exclusively through his mouth for the past month.
"Really, you don't recognize me?" He reached up and tugged the mask to the left, revealing only the good half of his face, only one angry blue eye. "You don't recognize the man who was one of the managers of your recently-eradicated northern Lab?" He paused, hoping it would all sink in. "I'm Peter Tykwer, Carmine," Peter resisted the urge to suffix that phrase with 'your majesty'. "Albeit, with some new. . . additions we'll call them."
"I've come bearing some. . . Substantial news." He muttered. "You do recall the destruction of the Northern Lab, correct?" His sentences were interjected with pauses so that Carmine could acknowledge him. He would at least have that. "Do you also recall that nearly all data pertaining to that facility is gone?" He scowled behind his mask. "The mutant responsible for destroying the lab, Michael Tykwer, is running loose. Worse still, he has the entirety of the northern lab data in his head. I had thought him dead in the rubble of the facility, but he apparently made it out intact," he growled. The thought of that child running loose, tarnishing his good name enraged him even more than working with Carmine did.
"His tracking device just re-activated a short time ago. It's sending out pings from the local hospital." He leaned forwards with a quiet edge in his raspy voice.
"Need I tell you what will happen if he's discovered by anyone?"

She couldn’t quiet place at the moment where she knew that man from. Albeit he had a metal mask covering face, but the blue eyes had a fire in them that she should have remembered. Then it hit her, right as he moved the mask to the side, revealing only half of his face, but enough so she could know his identity.
"Really, you don't recognize me? You don't recognize the man who was one of the managers of your recently-eradicated northern Lab? I'm Peter Tykwer, Carmine, albeit, with some new. . . additions we'll call them. "
Peter Tykwer. Yes, she remembered the name, she placed him there as one of the scientists in charge. He was angered easily, hated being in positions of submission, where he had to look up at others instead of giving the orders. She nodded once, showing that she knew who he was now. The additions as he called them probably had to do with the mask that now covered his face.
"I've come bearing some. . . Substantial news. You do recall the destruction of the Northern Lab, correct?" This brought out another short nod. The recent destruction of the place was giving her more headaches than she would ever care for in a month and have gotten in just a few days.
"Do you also recall that nearly all data pertaining to that facility is gone? The mutant responsible for destroying the lab, Michael Tykwer, is running loose. Worse still, he has the entirety of the northern lab data in his head. I had thought him dead in the rubble of the facility, but he apparently made it out intact." All that information...intact? She knew she had lost a lot, that facility seemed to continually send in their reports late, lose files, giving her more headaches than necessary.
"His tracking device just re-activated a short time ago. It's sending out pings from the local hospital. Need I tell you what will happen if he's discovered by anyone?” She shook her head. This was better than what she was expecting. Finally some more good news about the Lab, and with all the data, she could figure out if that cat-girl was telling the truth or not.
”This excellent, and disappointing at the same time. Disappointing because he got the data in the first place, and should be punished accordingly. But excellent because now I will be able to check files and reports that seemed to be misplaced at that unorganized place.” Then the name dawned on her, Michael Tykwer. So the mutant was the man’s son. She remembered placing him specifically to keep an eye on him, to keep Peter in his place, so he knew who stayed in charge. No point changing that now.
”Find men to go and collect him. I want that data.”

Michael------

Michael feared his detection was in full, the human might have spotted him. Judging by the silhouette's size and shape against the curtain, Michael thought the figure to be male and to be of a younger persuasion than most of the other humans walking about the hospital.
Avoid detection! Remain conscious, blood loss critical. Avoid detection! Discovery imminent!"
Blood was pooling out from under the bed he was hiding under and it was growing ever larger. His arm just wouldn't stop bleeding! His left eye flickered and began to shut. The right bionic one still remained wide open and locked on the man, boy, adolescent, whoever had seen him and was approaching the curtain.

Peter------

Peter frowned behind his mask at the woman's response. It gave him joy she was not aggravated. . . But it was for that same exact reason that he was enraged. He had almost wanted her to get upset so his own anger would have some justification, but it was probably better he didn't have the chance to become extraordinarily angry. He'd have his day soon enough, but first was Michael.
"Carmine, i am not sure you understand the gravity of this situation. Michael might seem frail but he could be the most destructive and dangerous mutant we have created. I'm going to need top operatives. Might i suggest your own personal attache?"
A knock came from the door and he turned his head narrowing his eyes at the, currently shut, aperture. "We will speak later director." He said the last word with some hostility. He didn't want her position, even if he was skilled in eight different professions he was still unqualified, no, he just wanted her to feel inferior to him.
The man turned and opened the door, giving the man there a vehement glance. Peter hated being interrupted. He strode down the hallway at the brisk pace that was normal for him, holding his head high despite how bitter he was at the moment. He had to find Eriyk, he really wouldn't trust anyone else with the task of taking down Michael non lethally. Of course, he still didn't trust Eriyk, he was far too devoted to Carmine for Peter to like him. Peter respected him certainly, Peter gave everyone a certain measure of admiration if they were good at some profession or task and he was pleased with how Eriyk's personality displayed such indomitability but Peter despised how that indomitability couldn't be turned towards his own agenda. Nonetheless, there was a task to be done and Eriyk seemed the best choice for it so he strode off looking for the soldier.

She watched Peter, he didn’t seem satisfied with her answer, and she knew he wouldn’t be. She was furious that he had let someone get away, but she knew how to control her emotions and liked the effect it had on the man. She could see in his eyes that he was getting furious himself, that he wanted a rise out of her. But she wouldn’t let him have it, she would make sure that all of the information was secure first, that she could get what she wanted out of the mutant before she let rage take over and she let it out on someone. She raised one of her eyebrows at his last response that they would talk later. He was giving her an order? The hostility there showed that and she wasn’t sure whether to be slightly impressed with his tone at her, or really annoyed that he would actually do it.

But there was a knock at the door, and Peter pushed the man in. Another person for her to see, it was definitely one of those long days. She looked over the man in front of her. He seemed older, maybe a few years older than herself, blonde hair, cigarette in his hand. He seemed like someone she would hire to work here, she knew their staff was not the best at the moment, she needed knew workers, people who knew how take things seriously around here. She crossed her arms across her chest and tapped her foot, letting her black red tipped hair brush against her bareback and torso. ”Who are you? What do you need?” She always got right to the point, no reason to beat around the bush.

Scientist

The man laughed, letting it ring in the air while he turned back to his instruments. ”What AM I going to do with you? I’m not sure, but there are a few things that I have in mind.” He picked up an eye glass and went over to the boy in front of him, looking at him closely. Looking over his eyes, mouth, poking at his arms and legs, deciding what would be best for results.

Carmine frowned; she immediately didn’t like this person that had barged into her office. It might have been the fact that he came strolling in like he was the one in charge, or that he started accusing her as someone incompetent for her job. At least, that is the way she took it, she knew that if there were issues it would all fall on her, and then her wrath would be lashed out on the others. But she hated, absolutely hated, when someone came and started pointing out the flaws in her system, or that something was happening right the way it was supposed to do.

”There was an issue with that facility. The person in charge should have been removed sooner. I was not the one to mess up.” This man was getting on her nerves. She was partially glad that she was still behind her desk; her hands had clenched into fists and dropped down by her side. Her right hand had slid into the small compartment towards the top of the desk, one nail going along the edges of sharp metal. Her hand slowly slid into the familiar feel of specifically woven metal that felt almost like silk.

This guy was irritating her to no end. She knew what he said was true, she knew that the blame would be on her, and she knew that the people she supplied successful mutants to would wonder about the shortage. She knew that all, but his last comment pushed her over the edge, her temper was never that controlled to begin with and was easily brought out. ”Everyone knows there are issues being in this kind of business! Keeping our funds in anonymous accounts with numbers that bring attention to governments in several countries!” This man had gotten under her skin; she felt he needed to pay.

Her hand slid out of the compartment, glove firmly in place as she swung herself over the desk in front of her and strode up to the man. Her vision was tinged red, gloved hand in a tight fist, and she brought it down in a hard slap across the man’s face. ”No one mad would be able to keep this business going for so long undetected!!” She hated him for his last comment, her father was not mad, no one could run the guards, the scientists, and the random hired hand if they were mad. You had to be cunning, smart, and manipulative. The only ones she allowed inside the building that were mad, were the scientists, it was only way to get new ideas that their clients wanted. ”A madman, would have brought the place down on himself, not built it up!”

Scientist

He laughed, full heartedly that had an off sound to it, making him sound like he wasn’t completely of sound mind. ”Shots? Potions?” He laughed some more and went to the counter top that spread along two sides of the room. ”Of course not. Then we wouldn’t know how much you could take. Or how much use you will be.” He turned back around, a small contraption in his hand made of metal. He strode over to the boy on the table and placed the headgear-like contraption on, and fixated small metal prongs that kept the eyes open. His own eyes had a mad glee behind them, as he put the contraption on and went back to the other counter. ”The only shots you get will be painful, and if you’re lucky, the pain will drive you unconscious, but unlikely that will happen.” He picked up a syringe, the needle was thin and long, and was filled with a syrupy red liquid.

She expected the man to be slapped down the moment she swiped at him; instead he shifted back and avoided her strike. In a few swift moves she was up against the wall, her gloved hand pinned above her and the other by her side. She was a bit surprised at how quickly he moved, obviously skilled in combat, but she still didn’t like him. She was about to slap him when he put a cigarette in her mouth and held a flame up to it for her. She let it light and took one drag on it, and expelled the smoke when he let her down; she took the cigarette from her mouth and put it out on her hand. She barely felt the pain, merely because she was half focused on the man’s words, he wanted all the files of the mutants, and he was called Gabriel.

She still didn’t like him, but she slightly respected him, slightly. She tossed the cigarette in the trash, not even caring about her hand, it would heal fast and the small scar there would just add to the few that she had all over, not that she cared about hose either, or kept them very long, she would get the scars removed or softened out when she felt like it. She grumbled to herself as she started getting files together, putting all the data from her computer on a flash drive. She noticed that Peter had come back, either he was going to tell her that he had gotten the team that he needed or was going to ask another that was going to get her more frustrated than this days was getting her. Gabriel asked for the personnel files. She didn’t mind giving those; she knew there were rats somewhere, each facility had a few, but you couldn’t always keep everyone out.

She got all the files together on the flash drive and strode over to the two men there at her office door. She put the flash drive in Gabriel’s pants pocket. ”Training area? You go there; you can plan on being beaten down by Eriyk in a match. It’s a few floors down.” She glanced at Peter, he looked like he had been walking for awhile, and by the gleam in his eyes, was frustrated, meaning he didn’t accomplish what he had set out to do. She frowned a little. ”Did you get that team together? The experiment that got away under your watch needs to be brought back.”

She watched Gabriel go down the hall. Dinner? She didn’t think she would have the time if her days continued like this one. She had met with so many people today, had a pile of paperwork on her desk that she would have to have Eriyk help her with later and she had to go make sure that the mutants were still in their place. She ran a hand through her hair, letting the dark locks swing across her back as she turned back towards Peter. Then he explained what he was doing, he was searching for Eriyk and couldn’t seem to find him. She sighed a little, there went her help for the paperwork, and fool in front of her probably didn’t think to look for Eriyk in the training room, it was where he spent a lot of his time anyway. ”Fallow Gabriel to the training room, then get moving before someone else gets that information.”

She turned the man and pushed him on his way, and he seemed willing enough as he fallowed Gabriel and started asking him questions. This day was going to be a long one and she was already getting more frustrated than she was before. There was another man that came up. By the looks of him she could tell he was another that could be easily frustrated and pushed over the edge, he seemed feral to an extent, animal like. Then she placed him, Kishan, one of the controlled tiger mutants. Their keeper must have sent him for something, which her thoughts were correct as he mentioned a Black Lightening Project. She nodded towards her office, letting him fallow her back inside. ”I’m assuming you are here to report, correct? Go ahead and speak, I have things I need to do.” She turned, pinning her dark gaze on Kishan, hoping he would speak quickly so she could get something truly productive done.

She watched Kishan and Kyra, neither of them looked too happy about the situation. Kishan especially, he looked like the project seemed to bother him too much, which she found slightly understandable, as the project could harm and/or kill him if it was successful. Kyra on the other hand seemed aloof, more like she didn’t care what was going on and didn’t care either way for what was going on. The two looked at each other and she started to tap her foot, getting a bit annoyed that she hadn’t been told yet what the report was. Then she heard the girl’s voice in her head. It’s complete. The anti-mutant force field is working. They’ve tested it on some rejected mutants and the outcomes were all the same. Dead bodies or nothing left but ashes.

She smiled and nodded her approval. ”Excellent, our clients will be glad to hear that the project is done. Tell your master that I need to see it for myself then I will start sending the fields to the clients.” She put a hand on each of their shoulders and led them over to the door, in a few swift steps getting them there, not caring if they tripped over their feet or tried to resist her. ”If that is all that you came to tell me then you are free to go now.”

She was about to close the door on them when one of the guards came running up to her. It was a loyal one, as the others knew that she wouldn’t hesitate to strike them down if they showed the least bit of fear. They were guards after all, they were supposed to be tough and fearless. ”Carmine, there is someone yelling outside for you. Do we let him in or not?” She frowned, tilting her head a little, letting a few of her slightly dark red bangs sweep across her eyes. ”Him? Yes let him in, keep a close watch and bring him in.” The guard quickly nodded and rushed off to get the man outside.

Eriyk

He was in the weight room, staying off in his corner. Lift, clank, lower, clank, lift, clank. He lay there, staring at the ceiling. Pushing the weight bar up and down, holding easily over a hundred pounds on each side. He didn’t bother to count the weights anymore; he just filled it until he couldn’t lift the bar then stopped, and tried until he could. The room was filled with other guards, all of those that were off duty or those who lived in the building like he did. They were trying to outdo one another, lifting more than the others, getting into the ring and knocking their opponent around a few times. He found all of their games somewhat childish. Granted that was because all of them knew he would knock them unconscious in any kind of match, he was light on his feet, had a strong punch and never held back.

He set the bar down and wiped his forehead with a towel as he saw two men walk into the training room. One had a mask on, which he found odd but then again not too many things here would surprise him. He had seen a mutant that had controlled electronic systems, ones that had controlled the natural elements themselves. A man in a mask was the least of his worries. The other was a tall man like himself; he had white hair and a cigarette in his mouth. He didn’t know what the two wanted but they headed right for him.

Scientist

He looked down at his clipboard; there were some new mutants that had been caught from the outside. He read what little had been written down about them, one was a girl with wings, blade could protrude from her arms and she had a strong connection with shadows. The next was a boy, his physical abilities were low just by the looks of him but they found he had strong mental capabilities that would have to be further tested. The next was another girl, she seemed healthier than the others, already a sign that she was only recently changed; she had quick movements, bright green eyes and claws that slid out from her fingers.

The scientist figured she was some type of feline mutants, he didn’t need to know the exact type of feline but he did need to find out all the effects of her being change at her age, and what all she could do. By the looks of the others, they had files somewhere that could be read first. But the cat-girl had to be tested, all her physical abilities, strength, and weaknesses found and recorded. All the positive and negative effects of the serum that was used and what else could be done with her.

He nodded and made his way to the cell that was written down that contained them. He looked inside, slightly wondering why the three had been placed in a single cell. Usually the mutants wouldn’t be allowed to be near one another unless it was in the arena. He smiled a little at the thought. That was always a good way to test a mutant to find out their true limits. He found the cat-girl, coiled to one side of the cell and went over to her, grabbing her wrist and dragging her out, making sure to lock the door behind him. ”Don’t make trouble for me or I can make the next experience one of the worst you will ever have.” he kept a firm grip on the girl’s arm, mentally checking to make sure he had a sedative ready in his pocket just in case she decided to try and avoid the next tests he would have for her.

Kyra
Kyra sent the rest of the message into Carmine's head as they just walked out of the door. "The... Project, also has some flaws. It needs alot of energy to ru-" Her message was cut off short when she felt a tearing inside her head. She could feel the floor fall out from under her, and her vision went white hot. It felt like someone was squishing her out of her own body, and she was leaving it, no matter how hard she clawed or held onto it. Then... She wasn't in her body anymore.

Kyra was in someone else's mind. Camelion's mind. The cold one. It hurt to be in his head, but it also felt familiar. Then, she saw Carmine and forgot about the pain coming from the Cold one's mind. Carmine looked different through Camelion's mind. She could also feel how he felt about Carmine. It... Seemed almost impossible for him to like someone. So, she burst out sending a laugh through his head.

Kishan
Kyra was falling. One minute she was just... Doing great, and then she was falling. It took him a few more seconds for him to react, but he caught her before she fell. "Kyra." Her name slipped off his tongue like a chant as he tried to get her to wake up or something. He shook her, thinking her limp body was going to tense back in a few seconds and she'd punch him for holding her... Too close. She was too close, mostly because his tiger genes were kicking in, making him think the close she is, than the safer she'd be. "Kyra! What the hell happened?! Kyra?" He shook her again, but more harshly.

She may not have looked it but she was paying attention to what Kyra was telling her. Her feet just kept marching towards the door, wanting to be rid of them as soon as she could, she wasn’t in particularly good mood and was most likely going to end up breaking at some point and will have to take her anger out on someone. She paused slightly as Kyra’s message was cut short, Carmine understood what she was going to say, but it was strange enough for someone to cut short their sentence with her, it rarely happened anymore. Then the girl collapsed.

She crossed her arms, letting Kishan deal with it, instead of doing anything herself. She wasn’t feeling helpful and wasn’t going to lend any type of helping hand to the pair. She rolled her dark eyes as Kishan starting yelling at Kyra, basically begging her to wake up. She wasn’t going to deal with this anymore and snapped her fingers at the guard next to her office door. ”Take these two to the Healer’s Quarters. Find out what happened with the girl and send them on their way.” The guard nodded once, and took a hold of Kishan’s arm, leading him down the hall.

She ran a hand through her hair, noting the dark light outside the window in her office, one of the very few in the building. She wondered briefly if she had eaten today, most likely not, she would go get something soon, maybe have someone make a round to the mutants. That was basically when they got fed, when she remembered she hadn’t and the mutants crossed her mind at the same time. Then she turned her dark gaze to the man that was being brought to her.

Not much stood out about him to her, he seemed pretty ordinary except for his eyed colored eyes that she found notable. "My name is Cameron Leyon; you might know me under the mutant-file Camelion. I have come to you for.... help, and for a job." She frowned a little, thinking about the files she had obtained, it took her a few minutes but yes, she knew which one he was. Able to change into any other person at will. He was most likely very useful in interrogations and for spying. She nodded, ”I know who you are, and where you came from. Why would you come to me for a place, when you already have one?”

He nodded at the mutant’s attitude towards the little excursion. There wasn’t much problems with this one, which he was glad for, it always took more time if he had to sedate the creature then wait for them to wake up at whatever their destination happened to be. He kept walking down the seemingly endless hallways, down a few flights of stairs and finally through two large double doors. Inside, the cavernous room looked much like a gym; at least it was big enough to be one. There was a single wall in front of the pair; it ran from one side of the room to the other which was almost the entire side length of the building, and almost touched the ceiling that was two stories above them.

There was a small door inside the wall which was only a few feet from them and the scientist pushed Dusk towards it. Inside was a small pure white room, maybe three feet each way and seven feet tall. ”Get through as fast as you can.” That’s all the instruction he would give her as he put his hand to the side of the small doorway and a white wall slid shut, enclosing her in the small space. He took his clipboard and pen and left the gym room and made his way to the observation deck, so he could peer down at the maze that made up the expanse of the large room. He pushed a small red button that was among many others on a control board and a wall slid open next to Dusk, allowing her access to the labyrinth.

~Carmine~

She frowned slightly at Camelion, putting one delicate looking hand on her hip which cocked to the side. His explanations weren’t exactly the ones she was expecting for his reasons for being here. She could practically smell how weak he was, and could plainly see that he was ready to collapse on his feet. ”You say that dear old Caine found you to be no longer useful. What makes you think if you can no longer work there that I would allow you in here to work?” She let her red-tinged bangs fall over one eyes, making her onyx black eyes even more menacing through the red veil.

Camelion
The murderous shifter laughed outright at the woman's question. "The simple fact, my lady, that I know exactly how to break two of the three that escaped, and the two that helped them are more than well-fit to be candidates for experiments. Besides," He stepped forward, eyes glinting thirstily, "I want to do everything within my wide range of capabilities to see to it the bastard falls." His gaze returned hers, not a hint of fear behind them. Only the lust for blood and a sweet, cold revenge that would have made any sane person (that knew nothing of the Lab, Institution, or everything about his past life) recoil from him in horror. "I also have quite a bit of information regarding useful Institution mutants. In exchange for the information itself, I would like you to take care of a little problem of mine. You see...." He twitched slightly, tilting his head, so that a thin scar became visible, "Caine doesn't really like even his "brainy" mutants to have full control of themselves. Even now, I am fighting a unwanted wish to return for them to disect me alive and conscious, or however else they might wish to slowly kill me. I want to be rid of the little device behind this scar. Then I would be capable of giving you the information coherently." His smile went from bloodthirsty and furious, to almost seductive as he stepped back, his offer complete. Let's see how that old man reacts to losing a valuable tool, and gaining a horrid enemy...... The very thought made him smile a little wider, licking the left corner of his lips.

He watched through the one way bullet proof glass windows in the observation deck. He could see the entire maze from start to finish. He glance at his watch every once in a while, noting the time. He wrote on his clip board when she started marking the halls to help her remember where she had been, then the time when she stopped what she was doing and just sat. He tilted his head a little at the time, usually the newer mutants rebelled quicker, but it may also have been because of her weakened state that she was a bit more willing than most. He made a few side notes while he first pushed a white button than an orange button with the other hand.

He didn’t bother looking down into the gym, it would take a few minutes for the walls to rearrange. This gave him a few minutes to finish his side notes while the walls around Dusk closed in, making a small room like the one she started in. He glanced up as the last few walls fell into place, all the markings the cat mutant had made were now in random places, some even in the path that lead to the exit. He looked at his cheat sheet and nodded, this path would take a bit longer to complete than the original he had her started in.

He looked up and was about to push the green button to have her begin again when he noticed that another had entered the gym. He pushed a button, allowing the mutant into the little room that dusk had originally started out in and waited until the female was inside. He pushed the green button, letting the door slide open so both mutants had access to the labyrinth before them. He smiled wondering what would happen when the two met, which he could guarantee would happen as the ground under their feet started to heat up, forcing them to move somewhere else.

~Carmine~

She still eyed Camelion, she could tell just by his expression that he enjoyed seeing another’s pain like herself and would very well give her the information like he said he would. She nodded, her long hair brushing against her bare torso. ”Very well, I can have it removed but we don’t use sedatives here, only for putting out the more dangerous mutants when necessary. You get through that without harming any of my Healers then I’ll consider letting you work here.” She waved him off, allowing another guard to lead him off to get that chip removed. It made her think that some of the Institution’s technologies may be useful to her, as she hadn’t thought of a controlling chip in the brain before.

Eriyk

He watched the match, noting how this man moved. He was light on his feet, quick in his movements and used precise attacks to make maximum damage with the least amount of force. He noted the others reactions, cheering widely when their comrade finally got a hit in, but he could tell that the man allowed it to happen, feigning his loss of balance and then coming back with a fatal blow. He had seen movements like that before, only a few of the best guards could fight like that, and he could beat them all.

The man jumped down from the ring and walked over to him. “So Eriyk, enjoy the show? Now that the warm up is out of the way
why don’t you get up here and show me what the real boss of these morons can do?” He smiled, one side of his mouth rising to make the expression and took the towel off from around his neck. ”I won’t be so easy, he was only here a few weeks. I’ve spent my life in this building.”

He grabbed the top rope that ran around the ring and flung his large frame over the top and bounced on his feet lightly. He didn’t bother getting any gloves or protective gear, he would have the fool on the ground soon anyway. He was large, big enough to tell her lifted a large amount of weights, and it looked like he would be slow on his feet, he didn’t move to fast, hoping this man would think that like so many others have before. A large man didn’t move quickly like a small thinner an would.

She paused slightly as Camelion took her hand, and placed a kiss near her wrist. Strange thing to do. The action cut through her previous train of thought and left her a bit stunned. It took her all of two seconds for her to realize she was standing there like an idiotic damsel and turned abruptly, going back into her office. Right before she shut the door she heard a smack, a thud and Camelion’s voice. She smirked as she shut the door. Likes to bring pain does he? The thought of allowing him to remain began to sound more appealing, she did need a few interrogators, and she could compare the story she got from the kitten earlier with the information he would tell her after. She nodded; she would do that, after she got some food. She left her office, and headed down to the cafeteria.

Healers

The older woman looked up as a guard came in with someone, he was obviously wounded as he was limping and holding his side. He also looked quite irritated, she didn’t see that look often in the wounded unless it was a guard, but this one wasn’t wearing the uniform. She didn’t ask questions about it as she motioned with a wave of her hand to the nearest cot in the room and jotted something down on a paper. She then went over to the man. ”What happened now? What all needs to be fixed?”

She was just coming back from the cafeteria, liking her lips. She finally had some food in her stomach after a long day of nothing but talking with people. She probably hadn’t eaten yesterday either, seemed so anyway. Any guard she passed stepped out of her way, letting her get through the hallways without any interruption. She had ordered one of the guards to go around and give the mutants some food before they shut the lights out in the rooms. Any scraps left over from the cafeteria would be thrown in the cell and then a few minutes later the lights would be put out. She knew that other facilities probably fed them better but here she got the better results, even though the care for them was lacking. But it had to be done, keeping them weak is what kept them compliant.

She ran a hand through her hair, turning down a hallway and letting the soft locks of black and red brush against her back. She paused slightly as she felt a presence behind her. She turned, her bangs sliding over one eye as she did so, and focused her gaze on Camelion. She was a bit surprised that he was back so soon, he had stitches on the side of his head and his torso and shoulder were bandaged. ”Back so soon? Thought you might have wanted a rest before coming to tell me the secrets you keep.” She stepped towards him slowly, brushing those stubborn bangs behind her ear.

Scientist

He was jotting things down on two clipboards, now that there were two mutants inside the maze. There were others in the room, keeping track of things, and telling him the main points that needed to be written down. One was listening through some headphones at the conversation going on; apparently neither of them had any strong predator instincts, they were introducing themselves and planned on working together. He laughed, and looked up as the man observing their actions motioned for him to go over. The feline had scratched into the wall a message to them, he smiled, and not many of the mutants knew how to read let alone write so it was almost hilarious at seeing the message carved into the wall. When I get out. You are dead.

He shook his head with a smirk. ”The little kitten thinks she can attack us once she’s out.” A few others laughed along with him and he went back to the control panel pushing a red button. ”I doubt either of them will have enough strength to walk let alone attack after this.” He watched, arms crossed as he knew that, for one, the ground underneath their feet was heating up, and second, he had just allowed the pillars of fire to start working. He saw one shoot up from the ground a few corridors from the pair then disappear, another shot up in another part of the labyrinth. He nodded, the jets would be random, and there was no sign of where or when it would strike, not even a vent it the ground indicated where it could be.

A smile tugged at the corner of her lip at his response, he was strong enough to last without sedatives and pain killers, and continued to work despite obviously needing a rest. She nodded and led him back to her office, she needed a rest soon anyway, how long had she been awake, two days, three? She actually didn’t remember, but it didn’t matter, she would sleep after he told her what he knew. ”Anything and everything you know. Start with those that escaped from the Institution, how many, their abilities, ect.”

She opened the door to her office, letting him close it behind her. She then walked over the side wall that had her fireplace; she tossed a log inside the hearth and placed her hand on one of the stones, pressing on it. The wall next to her slid away to a small room, inside was a small library with a large couch. She waved him in behind her and she stood in front of the two-way fireplace.

She listened to all he had to tell her, and honestly she didn’t think it would take so long. She expected him to be blunt and tell him simple things like anyone else would, but he explained and rambled some, it might have been that he was swaying on his feet and looked as if he needed sleep. She just listened, as he didn’t give much time for her comment all too much, and seemed to be rambling a bit about his past life, about the murders he had committed before being caught. He caught himself and returned to the subject, but in the back of her mind she didn’t know if she wanted him to go back, she was enjoying the descriptions of the things he had done.

But he continued, and finally came his demand. As she knew there would be one, nothing came without a price. But he caught her off guard once again. ”Just another mutant? That’s all you ask for?” She stood from her place on the couch and walked in front of the book shelves. She nodded to him. ”It can be arranged, someone will head out to collect the mutant soon. It seems you need rest though.” She motioned to the deep red colored piece of furniture. ”You can sleep there, unless you’d rather a cell.” She chuckled and walked out, going over to her desk to check his information with the information she got earlier from the feline they had brought in.

Robert Wagner

Robert Wagner arrived at the front door of the administrative building and entered as though he were in charge – an action which did well to reflect his feelings. He referred to this building as the ‘administrative’ one, since the director’s office was here, as well as his own. He rarely came into the office, though, since most of his work was done from home. Tracking down potential mutants was a difficult task, but once he found them, he never concerned himself with their futures. He had no need to be inside this building.

The grand irony of his entrance was that he was actually on his way to see the director. In his many years working here, he’d only ever interacted with her on a couple occasions. His department had traditionally been left to do their work without much micro-management. Besides, he had far more experience here than her anyways. Carmine was still a young girl. Surely Robert was at least twice her age. As he turned down the hallway to her office, he recalled her running around as a child. Such a beautiful girl.

She’s probably a bitch, he knew. Birthright aside, nobody holds her position – at her age – unless they are exceptionally bitchy.

It didn’t matter, as long as she was willing to work with him. He arrived at the door to her office and knocked gently. He heard conversation inside. “Carmine, it’s Robert Wagner from Tracking. I’m sure you’re busy but we need to talk.”

With that, he pushed the door open and entered, not caring to wait for her permission. He saw her inside, dressed in almost nothing, as per usual, talking to a black-haired man about her age. He cast the man a sideways glance as acknowledgement of his interruption. Then he turned back to Carmine. “Hello, director,” he said. “I need to know what the current situation is with the escaped mutants. I’ve got a plan underway to capture any of the remaining ones. It’s not our habit to work together, but this matter concerns us both and I need your help.”
