Matt

a character in “The Outside”, as played by Auricambrflaym

Description

~Name: Matt Ambersbane
~Age:18/19 (ish)
~Gender:Male
~Mutation:Elemental (fire and shadow)
~Weaknesses:Water and Light, lack of air
~Description: Hair: Matt has shaggy jet black hair that is tinged red when in bright light (Which he avoids at pretty much all costs)
Eyes: Deepset, dark amber. Stands around 5'10", and weighs around 170 lb. Extremely lean build, meant more for speed than strength. Usually wears black and red clothing, in keeping with his abilities...
~Personality:(add if they are mentally broken or not. If they are, how why and what will set them off to be mad depressed ect.) matt is a very thoughtful, cunning person. In the lab, he came across as cruel, bloodthirsty and insane, but that's only half-true to his nature. In actuality, although being somewhat cruel natured, that is only to those hwho hurt him and/or those he cares about. he thinks out every possibility before acting, his mind going at hundreds of miles an hour when in battle. Otherwise, he's a kind, protective guy that would rather see everyone happy than in cages. Although not considered broken, he will go off on anyone that even attempts to hurt (physically, emotionally, or otherwise) His little "sister", Ash. He tends to keep to himself, hiding his problems behind either a bright, brotherly smile or a sinister, bloodthirsty glare.
~Fears:(you have been living you life scared, this should be as detailed as the personality and description) Matt only really has two fears: Death and Loss. He wouldn't be able to stand losing a friend, and would give his life for them. This doesn't mean he would be happily doing so; with all of the death he has caused during the Games, he is afraid that the souls of those he's killed will drag him down into what the Outsiders call "Hell." Basically, he just doesn't want to kill anyone, lose them, or be killed himself. *He often has nightmares about some of his more traumatizing killings.....*
~History:(any majior events that have happened in the lab or if you were taken into the lab instead of being born there) Matt and his born-mutant mother were taken when he was about five. It was there he had been changed, and put against his own mother in the Games. Being the last two, it was him or her; she chose herself, and allowed her fear-crazed son rip her apart with his new, still painful to use gifts. When he was around twelve, he rescued a little girl, Ash, from a guard's beating. She called him "Big Brother," not knowing his real name for years. She too, went against him in the Games. When he dealt a "final blow," She exploded into a cloud of her namesake, pronounced dead. For years after, matt was considered by all the others insane, as he talked to Ash(who remained unseen) constantly, as though she were sitting beside him.

So begins...

She chuckled at the banging that was coming from inside the room, she knew the girl was broken now, probably for good, but she had seen some resilient ones and knew sometimes they could be healed, it was just a matter of breaking them far enough to make it irreparable. She listened to Camleion as she walked, that would have been a great idea, letting the girl know she was tricked, and in the end tell her that the one she cared for was truly dead, that would have done it. She smiled a little, ā€Yes, that would have been perfect. You can still do so if you wish, but give the little kitten time to heal, build her strength and hope that heā€™s alive, then tell her heā€™s dead.ā€

When she got to the Healersā€™ quarters she grabbed the closest one by the shoulder and turned the woman towards Camelion. ā€Patch him up, and let him rest. Get another to go to the mutant in one of the torture rooms, make sure she stays alive.ā€ The woman nodded quickly, quickly going to another who ran off to Dusk and she led Camelion to one of the cots to bandage his side.

Amp

They finally got to wherever they headed as the vehicle stopped and they started getting out, not that he had much strength to get anywhere on his own. Luckily Matt picked him up, and carried him insideā€¦it wasnā€™t a Lab, not a testing room as there were more doors, and there werenā€™t as many white walls. He didnā€™t know what to call the place, it wasnā€™t scary looking and nothing, rather no one had come to hurt him yet, that is the two adults hadnā€™t turned around and strapped him to a table. He was so confused, and tired that he just let Matt take him, there wasnā€™t much he could if he didnā€™t want to go.

Blast

He was suspicious from the start, being who he was he wasnā€™t going to let his guard down, no matter how much he wanted to sleep, maybe eat. The building they were going in wasnā€™t a Lab, just a building. But he wasnā€™t going to go off of looks alone, they could have made it look different, to make sure he didnā€™t think they were going into a Lab. He was mentally scouting around, listening for the other minds that were out there, seeing if any were in pain, being tortured. But what he found was a little strange, they were all very calm, compared to what all he had heard before, there were no animalistic growls and shrieks, no cowering and muttering frightened people. They were close to how the guards and whitecoats were like, yetā€¦less blood thirsty. But he wasnā€™t going to let his guard down, just in case.

She walked down the hallway to the guardā€™s training room; she knew she was going to find Peter there. She waltzed in, and noticed there wasnā€™t anyone on the weights, the treadmills, or any of the other equipment in the room. There was some cheering and bets being made near the fighting ring and she walked over. Eriyk was in the middle of a fight with Gabriel. She watched for a second, glancing around and noticed that Camelion had made his way over as well. Seems everyone likes a good fightā€¦ She thought to herself. She spotted Peter out of the crowd and put a hand on his shoulder. ā€I have a new task for you. You will be going to the Institution, make sure that they think you work there. I want you to bring back a spider mutant, named Kumo. Now go.ā€ The man gave her a stare through his mask, she could tell that he hated being told what to do but there was a slight relief in his eyes, probably from being taken off the task to find his son. It didnā€™t matter to her, as he eventually went off; she just hoped he didnā€™t screw it up.

scientist

The mutant struggled against him, obviously not liking the light at all as her pupils didnā€™t retract at the light. Vision probably only meant for the dark, and the molars were mostly gone. All of the lose one he pulled out, prodding at the gums to see what kind of teeth were underneath. After a few minutes he left her mouth alone, putting a set of headphones on her head. He went over to a machine that they were connected to and turned a knob. He started at a low frequency and turned the volume up high, waiting for some type of reaction to it as he slowly turned the dial, increasing the frequency to note how far the range of hearing went.

Amp

He was slightly confused as they continued through the strange building. There were some white rooms but it didnā€™t look like the doors would lock shut, there were cracks around the entire doors anyway, easily broken down and escapable. When they got to the next room, it wasnā€™t just a room, there were rooms off of it and everything looked so strange, there werenā€™t scientistā€™s tools, no bright lights, no tables that were used to strap you down onto. This place was so confusing, yet he felt that he could relax, not worry, it was strange to him and he retreated into the back of their mind in order to think about this, though his thoughts were simple, he wanted to try and make sense of it.

Blast

He could feel that Amp was perplexed by this place, the strange colors the strange objects in the room that only he could see that could still be used to hurt them. Then Amp went to the back of their mind leaving him to be in control while Matt dropped them off in a room. He winced as his arm was jostled, he figured it was broken, not like it hadnā€™t been broken before but this time it felt different, like it wasnā€™t quite in the right spot, plus a healer hadnā€™t come to check on him so he figured they did something to make sure it fixed itself in the right spot. There was a scream from another room and he felt Amp cower in the back of their mind, while he mentally rolled his eyes and walked to go see what was wrong, holding his arm close.

Blast

He looked inside the room and at first was confused by all of it. The room wasnā€™t like something he had seen before, it had things inside that he had no name for, there was water coming from the ceiling and he involuntarily shuddered at the thought of some of the tests that contained water. He glanced to the other side of the room and saw Matt and Ash; Ash was coiled up and shaking, Matt trying to calm her down. He figured that since Ash was the way she was she was trying not to get wet. But Matt started cleaning her off slowly and he blinked, he didnā€™t remember the last time him and Amp had been cleaned off. It happened occasionally, the guards would spray them with water or there would be a test where you were submerged in it. He glanced at the two adults, they had clean clothes, he looked down at his own, they were tattered, dirty, and more than one spot had blood.

Amp

He didnā€™t like the idea of getting into the water, it could be burning, as he could tell from the steam, they could get trapped and the whole room fill up with water, there were endless possibilities. ā€Donā€™t do itā€¦.water not goodā€¦ā€ He didnā€™t want to take control from Blast, mainly because he knew he would just end up more tired than he was now. ā€Donā€™t hear well in waterā€¦.too loudā€¦..ears full too quietā€¦.ā€

Blast

He waited until Ash and the others left the room before stepping towards the stream of water. He heard Amp complaining in the back of his head. ā€I knowā€¦too strange donā€™t trust itā€¦ā€ He reached out carefully, putting hand underneath the stream like Ash had done. He blinked, it was warm but it didnā€™t burn, it pelted his hand almost soothingly. He could feel Amp relax, ā€Maybeā€¦.is goodā€¦?ā€ Blast frowned a little, Amp was a little too trusting. That was the way they got you, pretending to be something good, then turned around and hurt you. ā€I donā€™t know Ampā€¦.donā€™t trust so easily, dimwitā€¦ā€

He liked the warm water; he didnā€™t care if Blast was untrusting of it, which is probably why he got them in more pain than Blast did when he was in control. He was also curious about the smells that were coming from outside the door, he didnā€™t know what it was but it was nice, and he wanted to go over and see what it was. ā€Go see what it isā€¦.? Pleaseā€¦.?ā€ He still didnā€™t have the strength to even attempt to take control.

Blast

He frowned a little at Ampā€™s comment. ā€Noā€¦.not yetā€¦.ā€ He whispered, not even realizing he was speaking out loud. He was looking around the room, looking for anything that wasnā€™t in plain sight, listening for any type of machines that would trap him somewhere. He heard the footsteps and spun around quickly at the older boy. ā€Amp, you okay?ā€ He frowned a little, why did everyone assume Amp was always in control. He wasnā€™t just a voice Amp heard all the time. ā€Ampā€™s fineā€¦Iā€™m justā€¦.checking thingsā€¦ā€ He went back to glancing around the room, still listening for things he couldnā€™t quite hear.

Blast

Blast could tell Ampā€™s attention was elsewhere, focusing on the nice smell and new sounds about the different rooms nearby. While he looked down at the clothes, they seemed fine enough, better than the tattered, shredded clothing he had on. He slowly pulled off the blood spattered shirt off of his small frame with one hand, jarring his other arm a little a he let out a hiss of pain, momentarily forgetting that it was still hurt. ā€Why does she care about us allā€¦? She does know that not everyone gets saved right? We all end up dead in that building...ā€ He reached out to the water again, still not completely trusting the area and putting his head under the stream. Amp was right; it got loud as the water rushed passed his ears. The warm water felt nice and he felt himself relaxing. He glanced at one of the cloths nearby and took it, wiping his face, and areas that had become grey from dirt. He flicked his head back and shook his head to fling water off his hair and glanced back down at the clothes. ā€Why should we trust this Healer-man?ā€ He started pulling on the slightly baggy clothing using one arm then opened the door, hair still dripping and his arm held close. ā€We donā€™t know anything about him. The woman. Or what they plan on doing with us. I doubt it will be anything good when they find out what we can do.ā€ His voice was clipped; the closest thing to anger that he would get to, more frightened annoyance if one could hear as well as he could.

Blast

He rolled his eyes at Mattā€™s comment and just let him rant. True the guy did get them out, and had brought them here, where he couldnā€™t find anything such as trap anywhere, and let them clean and wear clean clothes. He just didnā€™t see why they should be so trusting. He hated they way people were so deceiving sometimes.

The room was dark, so someone must have remembered to hit a switch somewhere so it was possible to rest somewhat, not that it mattered as most could sleep with the light on by now. There were footsteps, almost in time with his heartbeat as they came closer, and closer. There was the ching of keys and the creak of the door. Not another test, not another test. He looked out from under his dark and matted hair at the man that had came in, barely enough strength to do that, let alone struggled against anything that was going to be done to him. But the man came closer; there wasnā€™t a beating, no harsh words, instead ones that were like silk, making promises and deals. The reward of food that was more than the stale piece he got a few hours previously, and water, that tasted like the fresh he had heard outside the walls a few times. He followed willingly, the promise of more food, good water, a bath, and good clothes drawing him to trust the man. Then a sharp hand had him by the hair, another keeping his arms in place, more men came, a muzzle put over his mouth and a metal table came into view. He looked for the man, desperate for help, and his head pounded when he saw the man giving the orders.

Amp

He felt Blast fall back into his own part of the mind that they shared and so he was pushed to the front. He didnā€™t know what to do, the place was strange though he had been paying attention and knew the Blast had found nothing wrong. He walked slowly, wincing and rubbing his arm and winced more. He didnā€™t think it was in the right spot as it didnā€™t feel the same as the other. He made it to the front room where he saw Ash sitting with something in her lap, the Healer-man and woman in another room doing something at a counter. He just watched, water dripping down his face and he went to sit down in the room where Ash was, not wanting to be alone. He sat on the floor, holding his arm close, seeing flashes of a memory that Blast was reliving and his whole body trembled.

Ash

Ash smiled as Blast wolfed down the soup she had set in front of him. He was still mad, still suspicious, but he had trusted her enough to eat. She knew how much bone-setting hurt. He thought she and the healer-man had caused him pain, which was sort of true; they had needed to put his arm right, and there was no painless way to do it without knocking him unconscious, which would have made him more distrusting. She grabbed the blanket she had nearly pulled from the couch with her, slowly moving closer and offering it to him. "Guys?" She asked, talking to both of them at once,"Guys it's okay now, he won't mess with your arm any more...." Biting her lip in hesitation, she moved to sit at his side, draping the blanket over his shoulders. She whistled softly, like she had in the Lab, so that only he would understand.

I'm scared guys.... Not of here, or this place.... but of what is still out there.... I'm worried about our friends.....We need to save them.... but I'm scared of doing that too. Scared we might get caught instead of helping to get them out.....I haven't been able to find anyone... I know Matt's looking, but he's exhausted and injured worse than us.....She coiled up tight, arms around her knees, white-knuckled fingers gripping her ankles.

Dusk
Image

Dusk shook unconsciously as the woman's screamed came to her through the thing walls. She shuddered slightly, fighting against hysteria at the thought of her living here. There was nothing she could do. She was officially caged, and helpless...just like the rest of them. She let out a shuddering breath before curling tighter into the corner, trying to block out the woman's cries of her name that continued to barge their way into her sensitive ears.
Her mind was also battered from trying to block out the pain around her. Her solid shield continuously smashed into by the pain of the hundreds around her. While her shield stayed in place, the unrelenting collisions were causing a mind numbing headache, that was bordering on a migraine.
She curled tighter, forcing her eyes shut blocking out the only thing she could currently- the light. Suddenly a rattling sound mixed with the woman's cries and her eyes, unbidden, flew open.
The bars of her prison shook harshly, and dark shadows with jagged and abrupt movements spiralled in front of her. Matt controlled shadows...automatically a mixture of joy and guilt ran through her.
"Dusk...Where are the others? Not forgotten is Dusk, will find a way out...."
Dusk let out a sob at the soft voices, her guilt once again overwhelming her. The feeling of the shadows gently washing past her cheek was a strange mixture of comforting and chilling.
"Not forgotten. Help find, so can escape.... Where are the others?...... Must hurry, not much energy left......."
The tears were already running in small streams down her face, but in a sense of duty she managed to choke out an answer.
"I don't know where they are keeping Faith and Nudgeā€¦.Amp- Amp's being tortured" she managed to gasp out "Don't bother getting me...they know what you can do, it's all my fault, I told them...I am sorry...so sorry"
She forced her eyes back shut, her head leaning against the cold, unforgiving walls.

Dusk
Image

The shadows around her adjusted, and she could see a hollow version of Matt's face came into view. She recoiled slightly remembering the creature in the forest using Matt's face to do his damage.
"Amp and blast not here....."
The figure smiled. The suspicion melted. The figure in the forest could not hold warmth in it's eyes- wait! She had seen Amp/Blast here, in the lab.
"They are with me Dusk. Do not be sorry for what couldn't really be avoided, okay? I don't have much time, I'm pretty spent right now, so listen carefully. Amp is alive, and safe. I need you to find Kyra, Nudge and Faith if you can...He's not being tortured, though we had also been caught. There's another place after our kind....we're safe now, just hang on for a while longer alright?"
"But I saw himā€¦" her voice trailed off "They had him, I remember. Carmine promised she'd have him beaten-" she choked slightly "...straight after I had been tortur-"
Her eyes immediately slammed shut, trying to re-collect her thoughts. Her mind instantly blocked off the thoughts of what Carmine had done...if she recalled it her mind would snap, it was too close to doing so already. It took a few seconds for her mind to truly lock the memories away for a while. Each painful memory temporarily kept at bay. Her face contorted slightly as each thought was flashed before her unconscious mind, her conscious side being shielded from the memories. Finally her eyes flew open.
"Another place" her voice came out as a whisper, her previous sentence forgotten. "I can't find the others, I can't get out"
Her mind carefully shied away from mentioning who the others were. Due to her enhanced emotional gifts, her mind had managed to find a temporary solution to the painful visions she'd left behind- slamming them into her sub-conscious. It had temporarily kept them at bay, though certain trigger points were bound to break open the hastily stashed memories.
"Matt?" she gently reached out to touch 'his' face. "Don't take too long. Please. I don't know how longā€¦"
Her voice trailed off uncertainly, her face contorted in confusion as though she'd forgotten what she was going to say. Her eyes suddenly changed, confusion transforming into fear. She could feel something was wrong within her mind, though she was unable to recall what. This terrified her more then she could say, the deep emotion was etched into her eyes.

"Don't let them break me"

Pizza Guy

The Pizza Guy shook his head as he kick-knocked on the door. He was wearing midnight black sunglasses with a blue baseball cap that hid most of his shaggy black hair. In his hand were were two extra-large pizzas, and in the other, a large soda. He kicked the door again, impatient with the people who lived there. Growling out a curse, he leveled the soda on the top of the pizzas and put his hand on the knob, then twisted. He heard a loud snap as the door's lock broke. He pushed the door opened and walked in. "Hello! Anybody here! The pizza's here!"

The pizza guy walked around the apartment, looking into the rooms. He stopped when he came to one where he saw his target. ((MATT))

"Hello?! Wake up! You inferior beings that stole my best friend." He muttered the last bit under his breathe as he made his way to the bed. "Wake you you lose." He slapped Matt in the face. He slapped Matt in the face again, this time putting more power into the slap. "Hey! Wake up! A friend needs you! Don't make me regret this."

((Yes, I will take that risk, although, Kishan has inhuman strength too...))

Kishan
Kishan would have growled and snapped at the human boy, but he couldn't hurt his target. Restraining his animal side was easier said then done, but he got it under control. Huh? Looks we both got wounded... He realized as the scent of blood and... Burnt flesh? drifted into his nose. "I-know-your-friend!" He half choked, half coughed out the words as he struggled to get a grip on Matt's hands. Normally this wouldn't have happened. Normally, he wouldn't be here, he wouldn't even be struggling to escape a human's grip, he wouldn't even be hurting. Had this been normal circumstances, he would have been at home, torturing some poor helpless soul that done him wrong in the past, not fighting with a human.

Kishan's sunglasses fell off, revealing bloodshot eyes filled with anger, and a tinsy bit of pain. In truth, he was hurting, alot. His insides were boiling and the need to shift, to rid himself of this pain, was clawing at him. "Your friends! I can help you get your friends out of the lab!" He transmitted the thought into Matt's head, his arms falling limp to his sides, tired of wasting the last of his reserves when he'd need the energy later on.

The Games

The winged girl ran as fast as she could from the huge tiger. She wasnā€™t very fast and knew she wasnā€™t going to get far on just her feet. Her wings flapped, lifting her a few feet in the air when she felt the paws come down on her back. It felt like boulders were being smashed down on top of her bringing her down to the ground, claws finding holds in her flesh and tearing. She screamed, the pain pulling the sound from her lungs as she writhed under the massive feline. Struggling seemed to make it worse as each movement caused the claws to scratch more, teeth dig in harder. Blood pooling around her all she could do was whimper weakly as her life drained out of her softly like the black feathers floating back to the ground.

scientist

The bite at the guard awarded Caylx with a hefty slap to the face, knocking her head back and splitting her cheek. The scientist sighed, watching the guard; he obviously wanted to teach the mutant a lesson more than that. She scientist waved his hand at him, ā€Go wrap that up, make sure you arenā€™t poisoned.ā€ The guard seemed furious and stalked out of the room, holding his wrist tightly to make sure he didnā€™t bleed too much. The scientist shook his head, ā€Being a bad girl today are we? You might have to be punished later for you actions.ā€ He went back to the cages, sticking his hand down into one of the metal cells and pulling out something small that would fit in his fist.

Amp

He finally got to sleep, or close to it as he could feel himself dozing off and sort of getting rest, more than he had in months, maybe years. He could tell that Blast was exhausted as he fell asleep, a sleep much deeper than usual because there was nothing coming from him as the way of mumbles or dreams, just a black tiredness from the back of their mind. Amp could only doze, years of being on edge strips you of the ability to fully be able to sleep. He could pick up sounds, more importantly, footsteps, then a bang and yelling. His eyes shot open, someone was in the room, at the moment it was dark, and he could just make out shapes grappling against the wall. He didnā€™t know what to do, he could tell the by the voice that one of them was Matt. He stood, the blanket still wrapped around his shoulders as he watched, he didnā€™t know what he could do, and he would swear that he saw something moving across the floor.

Kishan
Kishan looked at Amp, his eyes taking on a cat-like look. He had seen Amp before but that didn't really help him hide the suprise look he got on his face when he really saw Amp. The human looked weak, gaunt and almost fragile. Kishan quickly masked his face hiding the suprise and the familiar light he got in his eyes. "Smooth, real smooth Ambersbane." He couldn't help the wolfish grin on his face, showing his sharp canines.

Kishan took a closer inspection of Amp when he picked the Extra-large pizzas he'd been carrying. He dismissed the weak human after he caught the smell of pizza. He had killed a girl on the way here, but the girl was small and had barely even satiated his hunger. So, he had 'bought' two extra-large pizzas, his way of saying he had actually stolen them. Opening one box he was about to eat when he froze. I better not hear of this later on, he thought bitterly as he practically threw the other box of pizza onto the bed. "Here, eat it." Kishan walked out of the room, wanting to eat his food alone, and in silence so he could think without being interrupted and to be alone.

Kyra
Kyra lapped at the bitemarks that still bled. The girl beneath her feet was long dead and she was taking her time so she could track down the others that went into hiding. Letting out a growl of approval as she stared down at her handiwork she licked her chops before turning and walking in the direction she had last seen the others.

He took a step back as the new person looked at him and growled, quickly he could pick it up and it sounded almost feline. He didnā€™t like this person though; he came in loud, wearing strange clothes and carrying something in his hand. He glanced at Matt as he said this new personā€™s name was Kishan, then the boy opened one of the boxes and the smell hit him. It made his mouth water like the soup did, but this smell was different. His thin hands clenched at the blanket he had around his shoulders, the small movement keeping him from moving towards the smell and Kishan. He still didnā€™t trust him, he seemed mean and like he didnā€™t want to help them. He abruptly left the room, leaving one of the boxes. He looked to Matt then at the box. He didnā€™t know what was in it, seeing as food wasnā€™t always the best thing to eat when someone mean came in, it had poisons or sedatives, nice smells to bring you in so you eat all of whatever they put in it.

He watched Matt take a piece of something out of the box and bite it. It smelled delicious, making his mouth water and stomach ache. Nothing seemed to be happening to Matt as he chewed, he didnā€™t collapse out cold, start shaking or screaming in pain. Guess it was safe to eat? He took a few steps over, the blanket slipping from his thin shoulders as he went but not really noticing. He looked in the box, glancing up at the taller boy then slowly taking one of the pieces. It flopped in his hand, the smells intoxicating; he took a small bite out of it and blinked. It was hot, but not burning, and chewy. It was great, he hadnā€™t tasted anything like it before and soon the piece was gone and he reached for another.

He watched Ash, not trusting the tiger one bit, granted being him he wouldnā€™t readily trust anything that was larger than him, had claws and teeth that could kill him in a few moves. But he couldnā€™t stop watching, he wanted to make sure that the tiger stayed where he was, and wasnā€™t about to hurt any of them. At the moment he didnā€™t know what to do with himself, he couldnā€™t fall back to sleep, seeing as habit would keep him up now until he crashed, he had eaten food, even though it was only a few bites, it was all his stomach could take of the strange food. He glanced at Matt who was eating then Ash who was petting the tiger, then let his ears wonder, hearing the man who brought them here in another room and the lady in another. Seeing and hearing nothing else he went back to his corner, grabbing the blanket and pulling it close, the only comforting thing he had at the moment.

He just watched what was going on around him, the tiger leaving made him feel better, there wasnā€™t too much immediate danger. His shoulders relaxed slightly when suddenly there was a fire in the other room, the roar of the flames, the crakes of the red hot tendrils. It was loud in his ears, and since he had long ago figured out that others couldnā€™t hear as well as he did, he figured the others saw the light and smelt the smoke first, not the roaring noise it made in his ears. His eyes were caught on the glowing mass from the far room until it died down and the footsteps of someone coming made his attention move to the man rushing over here. He seemed okay with Mattā€™s response to the fire and took Ash to another room. He stayed where he was, watching, listening, his opinion of the man was slowly improving, and sow being that of a snail caught in a spiders web, seeing as he didnā€™t trust many people that easily. Though the man seemed nice enough, he even wanted to help with his arm, he knew that now. Maybe he would let him wrap it up, the pain was better after it was set in place, but he kept jarring it when he movedā€¦.

Kyra

A rumble started in Kyra's chest as the door groan open, reveaing gaurds with a few scientists behind them. Her wide, unblinking green eyes stared them down as a needle was shot into her abdomen. A whoosh escaped her lungs and her eyelids began to feel heavy, so she closed her eyes and dreamt of a world without a vast emptiness.

Hours, seconds, years, whatever the blackness was, it felt like it held her for a very, very long time. That is until she heard the vague words of a man singing. The timbre of his voice sent goosebumps down her arms, but then the feeling of being prodded by a metal needlel brought her out of her sleep. She opened her eyes and blinked when the bright lights began to blind her. She instictively tried to sit upwards but cool metal cuffs kept her from moving. They metal pinchers were wrapped around her at several points, the points being her wrists, ankles, her waist, and her neck. Suprise at not being able to break them easily made her cry out. "Little Child, be not afraid,
The rain pounds harsh against the glass, Like an unwanted stranger, There is no danger, I am hear tonight..." The voice of her father penetrated her fear, and made her stiffen before trying to glance around.

"You know, I had a daughter once. Two daugters to be exact. One was strong, and the other was weak. Sadly, the strong one died and I was left with the weak one to train. Sad ending though." Her father came into veiw and tapped her on the nose, making her flinch. "But maybe I can deal with it, and made the weak, strong. You probably won't survive the treatment, but it's worth a shot." He pulled back, out of her line of sight.

Kyra heard a whirring sound, and then, the bright light disappeared to reveal an odd metal device with more than five large needles. Tubes filled with some silver liquid connected to the needles, and they began to slowly lower themselves onto her. There were four needles heading for her face, two going for her thighs, three lined up straightly for her stomach, two at the heel of her feet, and two on each of her sides. Fear of the needles, and anger at herself for being weak, made her tremble. The needles finally raced across the short distance and peirced her flesh.

A scream ran through the room. Agony was written in her eyes as she struggled to get away from the burning pain spreading through her body. The needles felt like cold, yet burning hot fire pokers were digging into her flesh. The needles began to release the silver liquid and only then did she stop screaming. Her eyes rolled into her skull, and she began to shake like crazy. Half hearted moans came from her mouth as something began to happen... Her heart stopped beating.

Kyra felt as if she was still there, inside her body. She could hear the sucking sounds of the silver liquid beginning to run out, the whirring of the machine pulling the needles back, withdrawing them from her. She could hear the footsteps of the scientists, but it were as if she couldn't respond, or even do anything. It was like she was detached from her body.

The monitor that Kyra hadn't noticed before began to beep. Slowly at first, then began to beep faster and faster until, Kyra lurched upwards with a huge gasp that barely filled her lungs. She fell limply back onto the table, and began to cough out blood. Her eyes barely opened and closed as she tried to spit out the crimson liquid. "So, she survives."

Kyra's head fell to the side, as the gaurds came in and until her to dump into a movable cage. After doing so, they moved her back to her cell and threw her in.

Kyra moaned softly, struggling to grasp the concept of what had happened. She had died, and come back, but there was something... different about herself. There was still the living beating heart of a human, but where the beating heart of the tiger? Tears began to flow freely down her cheeks and onto the metal floor. She lifted her fist, then let it fall to the floor, beating on the floor with a vengence as she tried shift. To morph into the the four legged tiger with fiery golden eyes. "No, no, no!" She began to sob as she the feeling of nothing came over her. She couldn't feel the powers of the tiger, she couldn't feel the strong emotions she usually got before the change, she had no other self. A dark, vast oblivion began to embrace her as she realized that there was no more Kyra. There was no tiger. They took her and tore her in half. They hunted and shot down the untamable tiger, leaving only the helpless human behind.

Kyra became hollow, and curled into a ball. Without knowing it, she sent out a thought to Matt, Ash, Kishan, Dusk and Aramay."They took her away. I've failed you, all of you. I'm sorry, I can no longer protect you guys. I'm sorry." It was filled with hopelessness, failure, sadness and so much loneliness.
