Caine
Finally! He had been watching with annoyed amusement as they poked and prodded at an unmoving Matthew, then moved on to check the other van. They didn't see that the girl's arm was missing, which he found quite hilarious. But he kept his face a passive mask until they all returned to those damned loud squad cars and allowed them to pass. He slammed an open hand against the side of the van as he climbed in, and shut the door. He glanced back at the other van; Jarek and Camelion would be watching the young mutants very closely, he imagined. Without any other interference they made their way back into the hidden roads that led to the Institution. It amused him that even the people that came to investigate found nothing out of the ordinary. Of course, he did run a mental facility, but that was all above ground. The moment one pushed the down button on the elevator, or took the stairs hidden in one of the rooms, one was inevitably on their way down into the true facility. It made him wonder what Camelion had in store for his catch.

Camelion
The moment they were moving, Camelion reverted to his normal form, watching Jarek. "He doesn't like or trust any of us, I hope you know that," He sighed gruffly,"It's all about advancing with him. Better mutants, better equipment, better weaopns. Nothing more." He turned to the hopeless face of the Ashen girl, and laughed, his face gleefully bloodthirsty. Definately not the face of a completely sane man. He already knew much of what he would do to this one. There were lots of questions, some of which he knew with utter certainty she couldn't answer. A million ways to hurt a female, even one who couldn't bleed. Ambersbane was another matter; as much as Camelion wanted to destroy him, his "shadow-half" did not know the things the fire half did. It meant that Ambersbane would have to remain on the inside while the interrogation insued. He wasn't sure what would set him off, but whatever those things were, he had to make sure the bastard never got free. He shuddered slightly at the thought of him escaping, those superheated hands around his throat. "How do you plan to take care of those two?" He asked, pointing with his chin to the two unconscious boys in the corner.

Daren
Daren watched the street for anything unusual, anything that would lead him to those kids. it was a good fifteen minutes before two hulking black vans sped past. Them. He turned and followed, always keeping about three cars behind. It wasn't hard to follow these monstrous vehicles, even at night. The hard part was when they reached the end of the city areas, went onto roads most did not. He'd have to get out and move on foot from there.......

Daren
Daren groaned slightly, a good two hours or so into the drive. They were well out of the city, and the vans were turning onto a rough road, nothing more really than a glorified dirt pathway. I'm on foot from here... He growled to himself, parking his truck and stepping out into the trees. He had forgotten how "tall" his truck was; his foot nearly twisted from under him, and he bit back a cry of pain as his bum ankle complained. How the hell was he going to get the entire group of kids back out when he himself was injured? Alright, get in, find out where they're hiding the kids while bypassing the entire security system, get them out while still bypassing said system, and hightail it out of there with the kids in tow. All with a bad ankle and glass shards digging into my shoulder blades. No problem! He thought, only half sarcastically. He had gotten into secured buildings before, as a small time theif of food and the occasional present for a pretty girl, and had had glass inbedded in his flesh in the process dozens of times. Yeah, ten years ago, that little voice reminded him grumpily. Security had been amped up since the last time he had stolen anything, and never before had he helped people break out of anywhere! You idiot, you're going to get yourself killed! Why couldn't you have just left it, like most of the others? He could almost hear his sister scolding him, and his lips twitched into the faintest of smiles. Because I never was the kind of person to leave someone behind. You know that, Johnnie, you helped raise me to be that way. I have to help these kids. Who else would be crazy enough to do it? Johanna O'Conner had been an extreme tomboy, but had a heart that was too large to fit just herself and her family. She had wanted to change the world for the better... He winced as the memory dug its claws into him; she had been working a medical degree when she had been murdered.... Quickly he wiped away the few hidden tears, and steeled himself; now was no time to mourn over something five years gone. Now was a chance to help people, as his sister would have. He knew he was right, he knew that these kids weren't some creatures meant for testing. They were still people..... Dammit, Daren, at least call someone! He vaguely remembered seeing a slip of paper, one that he had helped Maya pick up after he had nearly knocked her over. He remembered a series of numbers, followed by a signature. She wasn't a nurse or an EMT, so she likely had her own office. Was that the number? Without giving himself time to doubt, he quickly dialed the numbers, closing his eyes and typing slowly so that he was sure he had them right. Then he let it ring.

Camelion
Camelion laughed, stretching and jumping out of the van with an oddly renewed glee about him. He was, after several years of weak substitutes, finally going to do what he did best; torture and break a female using all she cared about. Starting with the Fireboy. He let Caine bark out the orders, not really caring. They were always the same; unload the vans, heal the drivers and anyone else that might have been injured, send someone to clean up any mess that had been left at the gathering site. He shut off the electricity to the girl's cage, and grabbed her by the hair. One of the others grabbed a now strugglig and cursing Matthew and dragged him from the van, following Camelion down into the Lower Basements. He was hoping Jarek would follow and watch his methods, but it honestly didn't matter to him; he too had a few creatures to deal with. The girl whimpered and thrashed in his grip, and he pretended to trip over her, kicking her in the side. An odd fluff-sound of a thud responded, like kicking an open bag of sand. He would have to find a way to fix that; he couldn't have her falling apart physically when he needed her to be capable of speech... With a grim thoughtful look on his fac, he headed down the dozens of stairs to his "workshop." Many staff members refused to come down here; a good half of them had gone through his games. What would he use on these two? He frowned slightly, tossing the girl to the side where she lay still, pretending to be a ragdoll. He took the thrashing firemutant across the room to a complicated looking set of bindings. Wrists were chained to the wall, a bar locking his thumbs so that he couldn't manuver them; his ankles were strapped in a similar manner. Two crossing bars went from wrist to elbow, and from ankle to knee, then straps locked those into place at shoulder and hip. A curved bar forced the head into a forward postition; there was no way Matthew could avoid watching his sister's slow torture. Even if he attempted to close his eyes, that would be impossible. A visor (spelling?) that Camelion had created himself made it extremely uncomfortable to even attempt to shut one's eylids... He stood back and admired his work; Matthew glared at him, amber eyes blazing with a helpless fury. He knew very well that he was trapped. He turned slightly toward the guard at the door. "Bring me two jumper cables and one of the scientists working on developing elemantal mutants," he commanded with a cruel smile, a grin that explained exactly what would happen if his demands were not met. The man went pale, and took off to follow orders.

*Amp/Blast*

When the van stopped, they didn’t know where they were. They mainly expected to be back at the Lab, but this place looked a little different than the Lab had. Granted they had never seen the outside, but it couldn’t be the same because just by looking at it, it wouldn’t have the same layout as the Lab. They were hauled out of the van and dragged inside, the doors slamming shut behind them. Amp was panicking, he didn’t know where they were going, or who the person was, or what was going to happen to them. He saw Ash and Matt being dragged off in a different direction with Evil Eyes and knew that couldn’t be good. Blast on the other hand was more curious than frightened at the moment. He could tell that this place was not the Lab, but what was it then?

Blast didn’t get to figure out where exactly they were when they were tossed into a room. It was bare and all it had was the white walls and bright lights in the ceiling. The door shut with a clang and the dead bolt slid into place with a thud. Now there was absolutely nothing. Amp immediately calmed down as they were finally alone and it was clear that they weren’t going to be hurt at the present moment. Blast was slightly bummed that he didn’t get to figure out what the building was, but was still curious.

-Blast-

He was getting frustrated; he didn’t like being in the back when things were going t get bad. And he could tell things were going to get bad because one, the white coat was dragging them off, two, the first always leads to something bad, enough said. He wanted to get in front, protect Amp, that was is job, why he was here, make sure Amp didn’t get too hurt, if he did…there was no telling what a boy with no life left in him would do. But once Blast saw Ash, and Matt in the room, he knew he couldn’t come out, his methods would kill them both along with whoever the torturer was. He would have screamed, shouted, made the man’s ears bleed and make him drop dead with a sound blade, but he didn’t want the others getting hurt either.

He felt pain on the back of his head, Amp was feeling the brunt of it but Blast had a faint feeling of whatever was being done to him. He was going to focus on that when he heard a whistle. Someone knew how to send messages through it, or at least he could hear their intentions behind it. He let his mental eye look around and trained his ear on Ash; she had asked him something, something about the outside, if there was anything there. There hadn’t been time to listen that far, only to keep themselves mostly whole, their arm was still throbbing painfully from the beating they had gotten. He sent a mental whistle back to her, slightly melancholy in sound, cut short at a slight high note. No time to listen, pain.

-Amp-

You would think he would be used to things like this by now. Being beaten on, being dragged out of a room, to be thrown in another and then more pain. It took him a few seconds to notice that Ash and matt were in the room. Why was he there then? If they were already being punished, what did he do this time; he was already punished by the guards, now there was something else? He was confused and scared and the pain in his arm intensified when he felt a hand grab his throat and slam him into the wall.

He head rung, and his throat burned, his hands instinctually went up to the one at his throat and tried clawing at the fingers cutting off his air. ”What is your name, boy?” He paused slightly, the voice was nice, contrary to the actions, and sounded sincere. He gasped for breath, pulling in some air through his constricted wind pipe. ”Amp….”

Maya

Though she was trying to hide it, Maya was in a state of shock. She could actually feel the pain here, in the screams, and the brief glimpses that she got of the people in the cells. Many of them were young, very young. Like those kids. Were they really here? Part of her hoped not. The other part of her hoped that they were, so that they weren't here for nothing. So that she and Daren could help.
"Daren? Ní maith liom é seo ar chor ar bith... (I don't like this at all...)", she whispered to him, leaning forward a little, so that there was less chance of anyone else hearing her.

Camelion
Camelion growled at Ash, with another knife in his free hand. Then he listened to Amp speak. Something aobut him felt....different. Older, if only by a little. An explosion, he knew that. Ashlyn had told him that much. "Yes, but what happened that got that explosion formed? Two of yout friends are dead for not answering, I suggest you avoid their fate and tell me," He sneered just a little. Someone was watching, from out of his range of sight. Well then he would just give them something to see! He lifted the knife to Amp's side, just enough for him to feel the cold, sharp edge. He could hear Matthew's struggles get slower, weaker. He was breaking; not enough to get answers yet, but he was breaking. He smirked a little, wondering how long it would be until the others shattered.

Maya

Maya stood behind Daren, not watching what was going on in the room. She didn't need to. The screams and sounds of people being hurt was enough for her.
How can anyone do this? Especially to a kid?, she thought sadly, slumping down against the wall, ending up in a curled position with her knees against her chest, her arms wrapped around her knees. This was just far too much for her to cope with. She just couldn't deal with it. How could any sane government condone this? Or did the not know what was going on? They must do, and that made things worse.
Despite herself, she felt tears running down her face, and her breathing got shallow, from trying to control her sobs. It wasn't really working.

((Sorry this is short, couldn't think of what to write for Maya))

Daren
He twitched slightly as he heard Maya start crying. She couldn't stand hearing those kids;it had been difficult enough to see the aftermath, but to hear it as such events unfolded was just too much. But if she keeps crying, we'll get caught! Have to get her to stop, we both need to go in there if we're going to do anything but be captured and charged for breaking and entering, possibly even attempted theft, He thought grimly, turning to Maya, and paled ever so slightly. Another worker here was headed down the hallway. Without any time to think, he pulled Maya close to him and kissed her, turning so that his back was all the worker would see. The moment he was gone( laughing and muttering to himself that the younger ones always found the weirdest places for "that kind of thing"), he let go, bright red and looked away. "I am sorry, Miss Maya....I.....there was no time for anything else I had no time to think......" He trailed off, waiting for thae well-deserved slap to come....

Matt
Matt snarled, thrashing with what little room he had in the restraints and cussing in every tongue he knew. But it was hopeless; he couldn't get free.He was too cold to use fire, and the area around him was too bright for shadows to be any help. The brightness burned even his back, covering him in blisters that were slowly getting worse with his struggling. I have to get Ash and the others out.... Two dead already, we can't lose anymore. None of us want to go back. They'll kill us all once we were in their hands again. They'd force us all into a Games arena with no way out..... He stopped, that dark thought paralyzing him. He couldn't kill them, not after they had become his friends, allies...... The way he was thinking, he would be the first to die.....

He could feel the heat of two new people; the look on Ash's face said she felt it too. But neither of them could tell if the new bodies were friend, or foe.....He just watched as Amp was slowly tortured, being offered promises of safety if he answered.

Maya

"Shh...shh...come on, now. Ash...I'm gonna get you out, okay? Just hang on, I'm just gonna loosen this...", Maya kept talking, partly to keep Ash calm, but also to keep herself focused. If she lost that focus for even a few seconds, she'd most likely break down again.
The straps holding Ash down were too strong to break, but then Maya remembered the knife in her pocket. That could work...

"I just need to cut this, okay? I'm not gonna hurt you.", she reassured Ash before cutting the restraints. The knifes in Ash's hands were going to be a problem though. Maya would need to work quickly,to stop them bleeding, once she removed the blades.

Ripping strips from the hem of the lab coat, she quickly pulled the knives out and wrapped the fabric around the cuts.

"That should do for now...Come on then.", she murmured, gently pulling Ash up, though making sure that the girl was supported, in case she couldn't stand on her own.

Maya

"I know we don't have a lot of time, Daren...here...this might help.", she said, tossing the knife over to Daren, so he could cut away Matt's retraints. Even if the sight of a blade might actually make the boy worse.
Turning to Ash, she smiled kindly, "It's alright, Amp and your brother are here as well. We'll get them out too, just hang on, Ash.", she said to her, trying to keep her words simple so that, whatever mental state Ash was in, hopefully she would at least get the gist of what she was saying. Maya's accent probably didn't help matters, but oh well. It wasn't like the redhead could do anything about that.
Noticing that Ash was havimg trouble, Maya decided it would be best for all concerned if she just carried the girl. Which she did, and Ash was surprisingly light, which made things easier, since Maya wasn't exactly the strongest person in the world, physically speaking. She was way too short and skinny for that to be a possiblity.

Maya

Maya looked down to Ash, who was tugging on her coat, "Yes, Ash...We'll get out, I promise.", she whispered to her, patting her hair for a few seconds, then turning to the man/thing that had come in.

"You know perfectly well where we're going...", she started, gently putting Ash down and lifting the poker from the floor, "...And you should know where this poker's goin' too, unless you let us pass. Then again, you'd probably enjoy it..."

Yeah, there was no way she'd actually be able to overpower the male, but her pride and dedication to these kids wouldn't let her go down without giving it a damn good try. Another Irish trait she had: once she had an idea in her head, nothing was talking her out of it. Plus she kinda wanted to piss this guy off, especially if it would buy the others a bit of time.

Maya

"Fine, but you're not driving! Not with that ankle", Maya warned Daren then turned when she heard a noise behind her, sighing in relief when she saw it was Matt. That was good, at least Ash would be better if her brother was here.
Finding their route out of the place, they made their way back to where Daren had said his van was, loading the kids inside. There was a slight problem though, even though Maya had said she would drive, she had never actually driven a van before. Ah well, it couldn't be that hard, could it?

He grumbled as he came upon the building Carmine told him to infiltrate. Seemed rather extravagant for his taste, but he had heard that the Institution kept up appearances. Either way he knew he would have to go in, glancing around he figured that his normal attire lab coat would do the trick as he waltzed up to the building and headed inside. The metal mask he kept over his face didn’t seem to attract much attention and if it did, his stern look and growl kept the people away. Now he just had to find this spider mutant Carmine wanted, Kumo, if he remembered correctly.

He walked through the halls; he could tell there were cameras like they had at the Lab. He didn’t know if the man in charge would be watching him or not, so he figured he could get himself integrated into the system here, maybe the eyes would leave him so he could find Kumo. He wandered around for a while, so he could learn the building and not get lost within its depths.

He paused when a voice came over the intercom and ordered him to get to work. Personally he hated being bossed around, it was bad enough he had to take orders from a woman at the Lab now he had to take orders from an unseen someone here at the Institution. But he couldn’t complain, he couldn’t let this person know that he wasn’t really supposed to be here. So with a mental shrug he headed down the hall and got to work, one of the others giving him a clipboard with a “Patient’s” file on it and told him what should be done next. He nodded and got to work.

The man walked down the hallway, a clipboard in hand, getting to work like the voice over the speaker told him to do. He hadn’t heard anything from any of the speakers he passed so he figured his actions were right, it was pretty simple really, the place worked the same way the Lab did, though the subjects were different. He glanced down at the file he had, the subject was a death row inmate, said to have been dead years ago. It seemed pretty safe to do it that way, taking the willing mentally broken, death row murderers and the sort, and the results were great considering how much they could actually think and function for themselves. But he liked the Lab also, they took children, little ones, even newborns or artificially created children to see the effects on developing bodies, which many were quite satisfactory. He headed to the cell containing this specific subject, the file saying it was to be taken to another creature that they named Kumo.

He heard the hissing like voice, the fangs and the red eyes, and the movements of something else that was along the floor. With a quick inspection, he saw spider webs strewn about the room, confirming his suspicion that this creature was a spider mutant. He wasn’t sure if the boss of this place was listening or not, so he had better be careful with his words. ”There’s a…job offer for you. It would get you out of this single room if you wish. And…Camelion I think his name was, seemed to think you would like it. Think it over then let me know.” He hoped the mutant understood, as he closed the door, and he definitely hoped he would come, or he was going to get hell from Carmine when he got back.

He paused, glancing at the small spiders that were blocking his way out of the room. When he turned he was met with the spindle like hand and arm, grabbing him and lifting him up. He nodded to the creature, slightly amazed at his state of consciousness, being able to determine his own actions and wants and needs. ”Yes I can guarantee it to you. You won’t have to stay locked in a room, day-seeing as much as you want.”

The man nodded, ”Give me some time, I can promise you I will be able to get you out and to my place. You will have plenty to day-seeing, as much as you want as long as you follow the rules and do what the Lady says.” He watched the creature before him, the spider mutant that Camelion had requested. This creature didn’t scare him, seeing as spiders and other critters didn’t bother him in the slightest. The only thing that phased him slightly, was the fact that he didn’t know what kind of venom this creature was supplied with, and if he would want to use it on him before he had the chance to see the outside of this room.

Kumo

Kumo growled softly; he didn't much like the idea of taking orders, but if it got him better conditions than this dungeon he would accept it. He set the man down, but didn't release him just yet; a handful of his offspring scurried up the man's pantleg to hide themselves in various pockets and crevices. "Go on with your job, and when you find a way, come back. If any of them are dead I will make you wish you had such a quick ending...." the low growl was punctuated with a few drops of venom falling to the stone floor as he let the man go, pushing him away.

He sighed, almost rolling his eyes at the mutant, but at the moment he knew that that action would end up making him this creature’s next meal. He nodded his consent that none of the little crawling creatures, which had now found places to stay among his clothes, would not be harmed and left. Now the only thing left to do is to find a way to get him out of there. Most sensible thing he could think of was cutting the power, the cameras would shut off, alarms wouldn’t sound and maybe just a few mutants would escape. He could get Kumo out quickly, and be off in no time in the vehicle, with no cameras to spot them, and it would be awhile before anyone noticed he was missing. No he just needed to find the power supply room…

Guards

They smirked at the girl, looking innocent and scared. Not that it would have mattered to them if she was or not. ”Come on girlie. No one breaks the rules without punishment.” Two of them grabbed her arms, dragging her along down the hall. The mutants that could see out of their cells cringing back, some even looking sorry for the girl they carried along. After a few turns and up a flight of stairs they brought her to a large white room, almost too white, the only thing breaking the blinding color were spots of shiny silver, metal instruments and racks surrounded the room. They drug her to the back wall where a series of chains where strung about. They quickly tied her up, her back placed firmly to the wall and the metal links of the chains biting into her skin, keeping her in place as they left laughing.
