Description

Equallis and Disballis
Image

God Name: Equallis and Disballis
Titles: The Twin Scales, The Divine Balancer
Creed: "Without evil, there is no good. Without light, darkness would not exist. There must be balance in all things.”
Gender: Male (Equallis) and Female (Disballis)
Alignment: True Neutral
Portfolios Governed: Balance and Duality

God appearance: Equallis and Disballis seems to be two separate creatures whose arms are forever interlocked and whose legs are grown together.

Equallis appears are a strange creature that seems to be made from living wood, with small branches growing leafs, flowers and even fruit. It is not unsual to see small birds land on these brances to take a bite from his fruits, or to see insects land to spread the pollen of his flowers. His face would be considered fearsome by most, with its large inhuman mouth and pupil less eyes. Despite its superficially fearsome appearance his face can only said to be both kind and caring and any who would take a look into his eyes would feel the peace that is hidden there.

Disballis is an odd creature that appears to be formed from dead wood, sewn together in an attempt to keep its body in one piece. If Disballis’ body ever bore fruit it has long since fallen off, leaving only dead branches in its wake. Disballis' body seems to actively repel both insects and animals, as they all seem to avoid going near her body. Disballis’ face is even more fearsome than that of Equallis, with many large, clearly sharp, teeth sprouting from her mouth and tiny glowing eyes. Yet, if someone took the time to gaze into those tiny orbs, they would only feel at peace.

Personality: At first glance Equallis and Disballis might appear as two separate gods who have taken to working together. Equallis is eternally positive, calm, forgiving, creative and a force of good. Disballis is eternally negative, energetic, unforgiving, destructive and a force of evil. As one might expect the two clash on almost everything, and they can often be found arguing with one another. Yet they are in fact opposing sides of the same god, whose dual nature is reflected in Equallis and Disballis.

If one were to look past the façade of duality and look at the true god underneath one would quickly see that Equallis and Disballis are in perfect balance. They make up for each other’s faults to create an entity that is neither good nor evil. As a pair, they are a truly neutral creature that is prone to contemplation and discussion. They are slow to judge and unwilling to do so without knowing all the facts. Although separately they are capable of expressing a wide range of emotions, in union they might appear emotionless, as all their emotions are in perfect balance, not one winning out over any of the others.

Their infighting is the gods own process of going through the facts and forming an opinion. Their dual nature of good and evil also makes their decisions as a pair completely impartial, with no favouritism shown to either side of the argument. Naturally, the result of their fighting always ends in consensus, something the god highly favours. And despite appearing as two separate beings, they are utterly incapable of acting, or even conversing with another being, independently.

Opinion of Mortals: Although Equallis and Disballis have great interest in mortals, they are not particularly fond of them. A mortals tendency to swing to one side or the other instead of remaining in balance, both interests and frightens them. They do care deeply for those who live their lives in balance. They also have a weak spot for all farmers, who must live in balance with both nature and animals in order to ply their trade.

Symbol: A scale in perfect balance with a stylized heart suspended from the left side and a skull suspended from the right side.
Equipment: Mirror of Duality, which, despite its unremarkable appearance, will reveal the opposing side of whoever looks at his or her reflection in the mirror. Good people will see their evil side and evil people will see their good side. The more on sways to one side of the spectrum, the clearer the reflection of their opposite number will be.
God's Domain: They prefer forests and swamps, but their domain would be anywhere where there is balance, especially during the Twilight hours, when the sun has not quite set or risen and the skies are in the perfect balance of day and night.

History: The Divine Spark that would become both Equallis and Disballis lay dormant for a long time, as the world remained in balance. It first stirred when other gods began to walk the earth, creating at their whim and creating fundamental changes in the balance of the world. Yet there was no need personify balance, instead it would passively work to maintain it. This changed when the cataclysm happened. The sudden destruction of so many mortals and gods shook the delicate balance of the world. In retaliation, the Divine Spark gave birth to Equallis and Disballis, to restore balance in a damaged world.

So begins...

A strange shiver ran over the spines of Equallis and Disballis, like lightning creeping up from its base up to their skulls and arriving there with loud thunder. Within that moment of thunder, they knew what their brother represented. War and Storms. But what he said next nearly wrecked their young hearts. Even a being of such majesty and stature could not breath the gift of life to their young creations. As soon as they came to terms with this sad news the god once more brought thunder to their hearts. He too was faced with a similar dilemma and had found a being capable of solving it.

Equallis and Disballis looked upon their brother, reverence in their eyes as he seemed even taller now than he did in the moment he appeared. Yet, if such a being of such grand stature and fearsome strength could not offer the gift they sought, what being possible could? A being even greater, surely. A being so huge it dwarfed the very earth, with strength to rival that of the warmth of the sun. Hesitation grew in their eyes. Were they ready to ask of such a creature a favour and even if they did, what could they possibly offer that would be of equal worth. A shudder crept over them as they pondered the conundrum.

Then as sudden as their reflection begun they turned once more to their brother. ”Kalimdor, we thank you for your kind offer and would gladly accept your assistance in our, admittedly, selfish endeavour. Yet we could not accept such kindness without offering something of equal worth in return, a balance of exchange must be maintained.” The pair said, reverence in their eyes as the unexpected of their brother washed over them and their imaginations ran wild at what this being known as Adarani might be.

Kalimdor nodded to his siblings after he strode forward to stand before them. As was the way of his kind for even the Gods had rules they followed, rules of their own making. It was the fate of their immortal race to follow the paths of their chosen portfolios. Kalimdor for example could never lay down his war hammer and seek a life in peace. He could never stray from the path of war, it was not in him. His mind could not fathom it nor would his heart ever desire such a thing. His siblings Equallis and Disballis were tied to the existence of duality in all things, for them one things cannot exist without it's opposite. To them it was as paramount as the howling wind and the thunder above for Kalimdor. Needing no payment from his brother and sister yet knowing he must receive something in return for his act he accepted their terms. Reaching out one armored hand to rest on his brother Equallis' shoulder he gave him a firm nod and a respectful smile to his sister.

"A gift for a gift then. I shall do this deed for you this day and in time I shall call upon you. When the golden horn of War sounds in the Hall of Valhalla, rally to me brother and sister and on that day you can repay your debt."

The words of the Thunder God were final in their absolution as the very winds themselves seemed to carry them and swirl around the three deities. The air soon became alive with lightning as Kalimdor's power swelled. His mighty hammer Ragnarok in his hand he raised the weapon up above his head as if to showcase it's power.

"For now we will talk no more of debts between kin and allow me to take us to our sister. Come, it is time to ride the lightning."

With that the sky growled with thunder and a massive bolt of lightning shot fourth from the sky. The power of the storm God consumed he and his kin and in an instant they no longer stood on the plains of his territory but instead were traveling at light speeds through middle realm. It was where three Goddesses were locked in bitter combat that the lightning would fall. Above the heads of Jute, Nylia and Adarani the skies darkened with storm clouds. Thunder rolled in honor of it's coming master. It was then that the massive bolt of lightning delivered it's goddly payload. The white hot energy struck the ground just feet from where Nylia and Jute sought each others deaths. The force of the strike shook the earth and scorched the ground and in an instant there stood three deities. The sibling masters of duality and balance, The Twin Scales now looked upon their sisters fight and before them was the one who had brought them here. The fearsome lord of War watched with displeasure playing across his strong features. Anger began to brew in his heart as he saw the demonic clawed form of his sister Jute lurch for the blood of Nylia all the while little Adarani fought in vain behind them, hurling a scythe at the she devil.

Kalimdor's fist tightened in anger as the clouds above blocked all light from the sun and put the displeasure of the storm god on full, terrifying display. Kalimdor Menethil took a single step forward, Ragnarok in hand he issued his warning to Jute. His words were echoed by the thunder above granting resonating, raw power to his voice.

"This madness ends here ..."

The twin deities nodded to their brother, accepting his offer as being of equal worth of what they had so selfishly demanded of him. And when the large armoured god put his hand on Equallis’ shoulder he squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, as if expecting it to hurt, while Disballis grinned at the War Father, adoration clear in her tiny eyes.

And then it happened, as if lighting itself enveloped them and carried them off into the sky and placed them somewhere else at lightning speeds. When Equallis opened his eyes once more the pair observed the scene around them. It wasn’t until they saw the thunder return in their brother’s lightning eyes that they fully comprehended exactly what was going on. Some form of battle then. With suprising grace they leapt away from their brother as his rage darkened the very skies above them and fearful for their young creations they hid them within their own bodies, before they turned to each other.

”So
are they dancing?” Said Equallis, his large eyes wide with fear and innocence filling his voice. ”’Course not you idiot, they’re tryin’ to kill each other.” Said Disballis, her grin wide and toothy, showing only malice and anger and no form of humour what so ever. ”Kalimdor seems rather angry, don’t you think?” Equallis observed, casting fearful eye at the stormy skies, so like the anger in their brother’s eyes. ”Look, just shup up and let me take the lead in this alright? No need for yer running commentary on any of this, we all got eyes y’know?” Disballis said, exasperated at her brother’s continued confusion. Equallis merely nodded in response, before the pair walked back towards the scene, standing some ways behind their new found brother, but clearly showing their support of the imposing War God.

Jute

She saw the elder goddess throw a weapon and stopped her deadly tail just in time for the sickle to fly past without harming her. She turned to glare at the new threat when lightning shot out of the sky. She jumped away to see a great hammer wielding god. He crackled with energy and Jute enjoyed seeing the malice in his gaze as he threatened her. Behind him was an interesting hodgepodge of dead and new wood. She heard it speak. So this is another god then. Interesting. So many of her brothers and sisters had come when she had intended to fight with Nylia on her own. At least alone she had a chance. But a fight of four on one would not go well in her favor, even in full capacity. She raised her hands in a gesture of surrender. "I know when I'm outnumbered. I retaliated to Nylia's anger and she obviously wants revenge. I didn't even have time to speak with you." She looked at the goddess of seduction and manipulation.

"Why exactly do you want revenge against me?"

Laska

"I am the goddess of Purity, of Innocence, and of Peace." Laska said in response to the other god. "I am happy to meet all of you. I have longed to meet all of you for so long. I-I just get so embarrassed whenever I try to speak with others." She blushed and turned her head so that they wouldn't see. Even while the cute smile played upon her face, malicious intent fumed within her. She hated all of them. She would see them burned and destroyed, but not yet. She needed time, needed to be clear of suspicions. She needed more allies and more power.

Crysalis

The sword had spent a while waiting for the malice to course its way into Hanriot. Why don't you want to kill anything? Isn't that what a weapon is made for?

The Serpent

The great snake nodded its head towards Othuma. "Yesss yesss, you underssstand. But not all deathsss need to be acidentsss. I mussst eat to survive and the bearsss provided nourishment for me asss well." It turned towards Sairis. "Isss thisss how you treat a fellow immortal? Did i threaten you?"

Acanthus

The god of magic turned towards the god of technology. "All of your mortals seem to be lifelike but also...synthetic. It is truly amazing how ingenuitive you are. After hearing the intricate nature of Artifice, I had an idea. Let us create mortals in our likenesses. Give me a machine, or many different machines, and I will give them magic unheard of in mortals. It would be a most amazing experiment, yes?" Acanthus grinned, and turned to the new god. He was so eager to create and he felt the rush of new power entering his veins. Something was changing him. He had begun to see the world in a new light and this change that was occuring in him also seemed to be changing the portfolios that he was connected with. The other gods had changed so quickly, had been given much power after the cataclysm. It would seem that he had not been skipped over, but instead was simply a late bloomer. The ever quickening time schedule had affected him greatly.

Jute

Nylia wasn't stupid. Jute knew that. The entire plan had been for this part of her to die so that the others could live. But she was having so much fun. As creatures jumped from the ground, Jute's snake tattoos grew and spread. The Undead were now fighting thousands of serpents. "The creatures in the Inferno are there for a reason darling. I punished them because they deserved it. But I won't deny that I enjoyed every second of it." She laughed as Nylia seemed to get even more angry and flew into the air. Her tail swatted down many of the flying undead even as she spoke to those gathered there.

"Just as you are enjoying this! And the Cataclysm? You mean the uprising of chaos beats? The dreaded creations of Trelas, corrupted and controlled by Kreios?" She grinned mischievously. Looking at the gods around her. "How could you know what caused it? Kreios had escaped you before, oh I know. I know because he took MY throne. So in revenge for you sending him to take over my home, I sent him to take over yours. You wanna argue with your own needs? Do it." She looked down at them, tensed for the flight of her life. "I won't attack you, because as far as I see it, we're even. But you listen to me sugar queen, you're the biggest hypocrite I know. Revenge can only be paid back with revenge. You cause your own cycle of chaos. Why don't you just give up the facade of being good. The Cataclysm would've happened anyways. If I hadn't released Kreios, you would've done something yourself that would have caused just as much problems. So give up, join me."

She turned to Adarani, "And you sweetness. What kind of love god just hurls a weapon at people hmm? What part of your all forgiving and loving soul made you want to cut my tail off? You're not so perfect either."

Then she faced the two new arrivals. "I'm not sure who you are. But what gives you the right to step in between two fighters? You got something against a little battle? Are you choosing sides?"

The Twin Scales stood dumbfounded as they watched the mighty demoness retract her tail to avoid the thrown sickle from the smaller creature. Even more surprising was when the creature, with all the power her visage seemed to suggest she had, surrendered. A sigh of relief escaped Equallis, this was good news indeed. There would be no need to fight this creature. It had seemed wrong of them to so actively work with the side that had the greater numbers and for a moment even considered assisting the strange demoness in her plight, to balance things out. But they owed Kalimdor a debt and assisting him was a great way to repay him.

Equallis looked at Disballis with great relief in his face, his sister on the other hand seemed thoroughly disappointed. But not having to fight seemed like the more favourable option, and it solved their crisis of conscience over which side to choose. Yet, once more violence erupted, as undead creatures rose from the ground to restrain the demoness. Confusion settled on Equallis and Disballis their faces. Not only was the fight not over, information of such magnitude that they could barely comprehendit was given and all of it was thrown around as if it was mere dirt, priceless and utterly uninteresting. What Cataclysm? What torture? What was the Inferno? And exactly what had the demoness done to do any of those things?

Luckily the demoness was curiously keen on answering some their questions, even without them asking any of them. So the Cataclysm involved Chaos-Beasts, something called a Kreios and something called a Trelas. Most curious indeed. Likely the two named being were somehow responsible for creating these “Chaos-Beasts” that seemed so dreaded. Then it hit them. That strange feeling that was niggling at the back of their minds, like a silent barely heard warning. That feeling that turned them away from exploring too far. The feeling they had when they considered going to the far reaches of this world, a feeling of utter unbalance, a state of constant flux to which their balance was anathema or vice versa. A feeling that could only be described as “chaos”.

It was when they arrived at this conclusion that the Demoness finished her taunting of the other two and turned her venomous tongue on Equallis, Disballis and Kalimdor. It was true what she said, they had no reason to interfere. And indeed, it seemed to have broken the balance of the fight of these gods. But if this creature was in any way related to the chaos that even now threatened to consume the very balance of this world, then such a small act of unbalance would be worth the far greater act of removing this vile creature and its threat to the greater balance of this realm.

And so they turned their heads to look upon the Demoness, anger flaring from both their eyes and a vicious snarl of the lips of Disballis, before they joined their voices together and spoke, their humble and emotionless voice strongly contradicting the anger and threat of violence evident in their faces. ”Although we will humbly admit to knowing little of this ‘Cataclysm’ or even these ‘chaos-beasts’ we do know that on the very edge of this world lives something that knows nothing of balance, for it could never achieve it. Knows nothing of duality, for it only desires to be the only thing left. If you are somehow responsible for these vile abominations to everything we stand for, then yes. We are choosing sides. We will choose whichever side opposes you. And will forever seek to end you and the vile spawn that you have let loose upon this world. Such is our vow.” They ended their threat, now staring at the creature, awaiting both its response and the response of his kin that had gathered here.

Kalimdor Menethil listened to the words of his brother and sister as they replied to the winged beast that was their kin. The War God was impressed by their vigor. It would have made him smile if it were not for the anger and disgust towards the offendor that had soured his mood. With the Twin Scales finished their words of warning the silence that followed signaled it was time for the Storm God to voice his thoughts on the matter. With lightning in his eyes and thunder in his voice the Lord of War made claer his intentions and judgement.

"Equallis and Disballis show a clarity of mind in their words you obviously do not possess she wolf for yours is the voice of madness. You speak of battle as if it is a game, something to make jest of. I am the God of War, master of it. It's power flows through me and mine flows through it. I know battle better than any and I assure you there is nothing to make light of when life and death are the wager. Then I am to hear that your hand played a part in the deaths of so many of our kin. That you sought out the chaos that would have consumed this realm and the next. Truly you are truly lost whithin your own madness. Tis for that reason that your show of surrendor falls on deaf ears this day, witch. For rabid dogs cannot surrendor. Beasts do not yeild... They get put down."

Kalimdor said darkly, his words dripping with distaste for the being before him. Ragnarok radiated raw power as it's master anger rumbled in the storm clouds above. He locked his cold glare with that of his winged kin as he awaited for what was to come next.

Adarani was speechless, at first. How could Jute talk about perfection if she was not herself perfect? More importantly, what could be done to ensure the embodiment of hate would not harm the remainder of her family and friends? She decided to answer Jute's question to start with.

"We all have our breaking points, Jute. I could not let you turn Nylia into a being ruled entirely by hate and malice. Part of Love is when to stand up for those you care about. I would have enclosed the wound on your tail, afterwords, if it were to have been cut by the sickle. I try to avoid killing if I can help it. Anything to avoid the need for death or prolonged suffering is what I seek after. Should neither be possible, I search for the lesser of two evils. That is how I live my life. Not only that, but I eventually own up to what I do wrong, even when I'm stubborn to do so."

Her eyes focused on Jute's as she spoke, calmly and without malice. "I cannot hope that you will have a change of heart; I remember the last time I made that mistake with an infernal being. It cost me Cragin's trust and any hope of being able to settle our differences peacefully. He died before we could forgive and forget. I am not about to make that same mistake with anyone else. So long as there is someone who spreads hate and agony to mortals, that is who I must stand up to."

----

Hanryyt found it more and more difficult to get out of the messy predicament without breaking more of the Code than he already did by lying to and manipulating his hostess, in the first place. "Nala..." He was now genuinely timid. "I-I do not think pre-marital sex is a good idea. I mean... w-what if you end up pregnant? It would be my fault if I go through with what you seem to be asking of me."

Jute

The goddess wrapped her wings about herself and fell backwards, deftly putting herself out of the way of both the upwards swung sword and the unseen knee. She flipped in the air, stabbed upwards at Nylia with her deadly tail, unfurled her wings and began flying in the opposite direction of where Nylia had been. She spoke even as she tried to run and fight. "Too bad, my main goal was to destroy the chaos beasts after I had finished with this uppity bitch." She said to the twin deities. "You all think you're so good, but you'll never change. Just beat up anyone who has different plans than you. Mortals are mortals, so what they die? Create more. This is survival of the fittest. If those other gods had been smarter or more powerful, the only thing that would've died would have been Kreios. But no, blame someone else for your own failures." She continued sprouting insults, pushing at all of their buttons, while at the same time trying to run for her life. "Look at me, I'm fighting for my life. You want to put me down like a dog, you think I'm crazy, but you hide the truth from yourselves. The only one with any sense is me. I fight for me. I don't fight for a cause, I don't even care if you die. All I care about is my own survival." It hadn't been her plan to go on for this long. Death was surely inevitable. But inevitable didn't have to mean just now.

Laska

She smiled sweetly at the servant god and nodded politely. "I'm glad to have found at least one friend. Though I wish I could find someone like me." She watched as he turned away to speak with Mathias. Then she turned towards the other female goddess. "That was pretty, what you did with the ashes. I'm sorry that your friend died." She looked up at Merida. "What will you do next?"

Laska felt the Serpent press upon her consciousness. There iss a god of meroriess. You musst forget and replace what you know. Laska agreed inwardly and she began to warp her own mind. She began to deceive herself. She was not Jute, nor ever had been. She was Laska, from her birth she had been good, pure, innocent. The serpent took the rest of her memories from her, yet remained in contact with her subconsciously.

Laska had done the near impossible, she had deceived herself and had become a different god. She knew nothing of the evil creature that she was.

Crysalis

The sword began wiping all of its memories of Jute, replacing them instead with Genocide.

The Serpent

"Fine then." The snake hissed at the shadow god. "Do not trusst me. I sstill wish you no harm. I wass interessted in the sstench of death. I came to ssee what had made the explossion." It looked at the bear. "What iss your name, and what iss your true form bear?"

Adarani watched in horror at the scene. What would become of Nylia? Did she fail to keep her safe? She could not tell, either way, so she remained calm in spite of Jute's insults. It was not easy to anger her. It would take a lot to provoke her, unless she felt there was a reason to be angry, which usually led to trouble, to begin with. At least there was no need to fight, for now. At least, she hoped so.

"What!?" Hanryyt trained nearly all his life in martial arts to defend from hostile mortals, but heavily venemous insects that are attracted to clothing? Not all the training in the world could prepare him for that. He held still while he listened to Nala's instructions. He had his doubts, but if what she said was true, he was not about to take any chances. He took off his clothes while she was not looking, then placed them neatly and securely in his backpack. Hopefully, the bugs would not tear through the leather and reach that monk outfit. He was going to need it in order to return home without a scolding from his sister, Ruthtaika, who just recently became Grand Abbot of Agriculture of the Sacriran Order. Their parents were still in the capital of the Valkyrie Republic as caretakers of the temple there.

Saulkavte awoke with a jump into a defensive stance before he noticed who it was. "What the...?" He next heard about the bugs and felt his shirt being pulled off, along with a few of his feathers. Dirty trick... The Exorcim nodded at what she said about undressing before nearly hurling at the thought of her suggesting there was anything intimate between him and Hanryyt. "Intimate?... With him? That is just disgusting... I think I'm gonna..." Saulkavte immediately remembered his clothes, taking them off as he got ready for bed. He literally sulked before yawning. Wait until we surprise you at New Sacrira...

Hanryyt waited for Nala to come back before moving a muscle. He felt more than a little awkward with his brown torso feathers showing. If any of his relatives saw him without any clothes on, they would give him heck about indecency. Nala's words were honest enough. He was given a choice on where he would sleep. Still, he was not about to be known for sleeping in the same bed with a man. Plus, this woman was special, someone who he felt he could spend his life with, if able to. But, alas, he knew the odds.

"I'll stay with you." His decision was made final when he got into bed, turning the opposite direction in case Nala got any funny ideas about going back on her word.

Nylia

Nylia grabbed the tail that was being directed towards her. Jute had finally crossed the line. Nylia didn't care at all if she was insulted, or if any God she knew was insulted. But to insult the mortals...that was what made her reach her limit. "Listen here," Nylia spoke. "Mortals...mortals are hold an essence of purity...an essence that none of us power driven Gods can ever find..." Nylia began "Though some may be corrupt and murderous many have love in their souls, more than Adarani, many are more civilized then Mathias himself, mortals are the key to humanity, not just rag-dolls for us to throw around, for without mortals what are we? What power do we hold? Without mortals you are nothing Jute. What are you going to rule, dominate, or torture. Mortals are more important, more divine, than any God that dares be born!" Nylia shouted "And for you to even think your above them...that they're simply replaceable, that's what will be turning you into a mere constellation!" Nylia roared, and with her free hand, she swung her sword down, with all of her power and all of the power from the Crystal Heart that she could muster aiming to destroy Jute, to finally kill her. If this killed her she would be thankful to the Crystal behind it's wildest dreams, and she would need the Crystal to destroy any other malicious God.

Nala

Nala smirked at Saulkavt's defensiveness about intimacy between Hanryyt and him being implied. "What a child," she thought to herself as she left.

When she returned to Hanryyt she was quite surprised. She wasn't expecting to see someone like him with such a good physical and masculine balance, and she had never seen a feathered torso before. She had only seen the bodies of Beta-Amares that strolled around nude, Hanryyt's was different and exotic...and it was kind of special because he kept himself concealed until now, and what she saw when she glanced downwards wasn't that bad either...it seemed like she got a bit more out of this trick of hers, but she made sure Hanryyt didn't know that she was enjoying what she was seeing. Wait...what was she talking about! She wasn't supposed to care about this guy personally or physically-she was straying too far off task-but Hanryyt was kind and caring, along with having a good body. Nala internally yelled at herself for having thoughts like that and focused back on her duty at hand. Nala glanced at him as he turned around in their bed, noting that he didn't look too bad from behind either as she undressed and got into the bed as well.

Now it was time to test him. She had to do this without putting him off as well...it was going to prove difficult. Nala then decided to roll over to Hanryyt, wrapping her arms around his chest, feeling the feathers on his torso as she pressed her breasts against his back and she wrapped her legs around his seemingly leather ones seductively rubbing their legs together to find out that they were actually feathers on his legs. "Thanks for trusting that I wouldn't try anything sexual," Nala whispered in his ear. If Hanryyt managed to get aroused but not do anything then he truly was a pure man worthy of her recognition...she couldn't even believe that she was thinking about him as...relationship material. Come to think of it Nala had never had sex...this actually started making her feel a bit nervous..."What if he did decide to take it to the next level?" She thought blushing a bit..."He wouldn't...would he?" she didn't know what she would do if he did...

Adarani shed a tear at what just happened. She knew there was no chance of Jute turning back from her goals. And yet, she wondered if death was her intention. After all, deception was one of her portfolios. Something just seemed out of place, yet she had no way of knowing what. Walking over beside Nylia, she colloected herself and stated calmly, "Enemy or no, the dead deserve respect. Shall I prepare an urn for the ashes?"

----

Hanryyt figured he should have seen Nala's advances coming. Still, he was a Monk, trained to resist sexual urges. He was not about to give in. His face blushed bood red at the thought of what was happening. She is not making it easy on me... The young man was not giving in, not at all. He was determined to resist, even if it meant going crazy. At last, the miracle happened, Hanryyt was becoming too exhausted to even think. By now, it did not matter what position she was in, so long as he could get some rest after a rough afternoon. His eyes drooped slowly, then shut gently, signalling he was finally asleep.

Nylia

"I'm...I'm not sure..." she told the Crystal Heart. Perhaps she would get to reviving Cragin. All she knew is that she was going to keep the Crystal around, to do the things that had to be done she needed it's power...

When Nylia flew down to observe Jute's ashes Adarani stood beside her, saying that they should respect Jute and asked if she should prepare an urn. "That thing deserves no respect from me," Nylia said as she kicked the pile of ashes that lay before them, if Adarani wanted to respect her she could, but Nylia wasn't going to, if Jute would be able to change her ways then Nylia would give her that chance, but the Goddess was dead now so there was no hope for her..."Thank you for your assistance," Nylia said to the two Gods and the two half Gods before her. "I'm sorry I couldn't make your acquaintance, but hopefully we'll meet again," Nylia stated

She then opened a portal to the Inferno and left. She said she was going to destroy the Crystal Heart when she was done...but now...now she wasn't sure...evil or not she needed it...but more importantly it needed her. Nylia couldn't believe she hadn't realized that until now, all she had to do was not succumb to what it asked for and she would be set...she was more powerful then the Crystal, she just had to watch out for its deception...

Nala

Uncontrollable blushing? That was good enough for her. Nala rolled over to the other side of the bed gleefully, she had never seen a man who wouldn't do anything in a situation like that! He definitely was special. Nala caught herself on before she went any further, she couldn't believe she was having such girlish thoughts. She left the bed and went to her discarded clothes, taking out the red feathers she stole from Saulkavt. She got dressed in a robe and left to put them in the spot she put Hanryyt's. She felt kind of bad deceiving them like this...Saulkavt was a bit peevish, but Hanryyt was so nice-"Shut up," she hissed at herself, returning to the room quietly as she took her robe off and put it back into the bathroom. She went back into the bed, slowly falling asleep, anticipating the money she was going to get the next day.

Adarani expected Nylia would show disrespect to someone who would have killed them, if still alive. Still, she wrote the Code of Monks and Nuns, and she expected herself to uphold it as much as she expected the Sacrirans to.Using some of the Paradise energy within her, she managed to lift the ashes enough to lean downwards and start using the clay from where she stood to supernaturally make the urn. "To whoever was provoked when Mathias rained fire down a cave, I hope you do not take this offensively, given the purpose, at hand." Somehow, the land was alive, that much was clear during that incident, yet she had no way of knowing who, if anyone, would have caused that earthquake. Either way, the dead had to be respected, a task she fulfilled by placing the ashes in the urn. "We probably stood no chance of making a difference in your resolve, Jute, yet I refuse to at least show some dignity by doing this for you."

----

Morning. Hanryyt woke up half-sleeping until he remembered who was in bed with her. He rolled out of there without disturbing Nala and brought out the Monk outfit. Good, and the bugs are gone, too. As he put it back on, he could not help but glance over at her for a brief instant, jerking his head away when he noticed her nude. Come on! you're better than this! The young man let out a sigh a he admitted to himself that he honestly thought she was beautiful. How are we going to bring her home with us without causing everyone a heart attack due to indecency? All of a sudden, he came to the realization: his sister left a Nun uniform, from before being inaugurated as Grand Abbot of Agriculture, in case a woman needed it. Thanks, Ruthtaika. You really are a big help. He smiled a little while he laid the Nun outfit out where Nala would see it upon waking up.

Saulkavt took longer to wake up, though he came around. With the bugs gone, it was safe to put his clothes back on. This isn't over, yet...

The Twin Deities were stunned to silence and inaction when the Demoness had spoken. Had their anger and ignorance of the situation somehow led them to make a choice that was inherently unbalanced? Was their denouncing of that Demoness somehow wrong? She said she would’ve destroyed the Chaos Beasts afterwards and they believed her. They did not feel like she had lied. During their moment of shock they barely witnessed the destruction of the Goddess and were incapable of doing anything to change it. Fear had frozen them in place. ”Did we make the wrong decision?” Asked Disballis of her brother, uncertainty and fear clear in her small eyes. ”I am not certain
but we did judge too hastily in our anger, we must think on this more later, in private.” Answered Equallis, regret in his eyes. But they had come here for a reason.

They shook their heads free to temporarily drive back the sudden uncertainty that plagued it and focused on their goal. They waited patiently for the goddess that remained to collect the Demoness’ her ashes and put them in an urn before approaching her. ”Our apologies for interrupting, but we are Equallis and Disballis. We originally came here to ask a Goddess named Adarani to give the gift of reproduction to our creation.” They both said, as they removed the cocoons gingerly from their hiding places within their bodies to show them to Adarani before speaking once more. ”Although we would not ask something like this without offering something of equal worth in return, though we would not know what to offer. As for you Kalimdor, we have seen your strength and would ask of yet another favour from you. Perhaps you could bless the male of our creations, so that he will know some of the strength that you have shown us when defending his people.” They suddenly got a most pensive look on their faces, which then changed to something bordering on guilt. ”Perhaps in our eagerness we have chosen a most inopportune time to ask for favours. We deeply apologize.”

Hanryyt had the urge to look in Nala's direction, yet thought better of it. "That is the Nun uniform my sister, Ruthtaika, wore before becoming the new Grand Abbot of Agriculture of the Sacriran Order, the first since the Cataclysm killed the last one. She figured that during my journeys, somebody would need it more than her. Since you have expressed interest in going to New Sacrira, she could not have been more right." His face expressed a hint of sadness, yet was hidden from her due to the fact he was not looking at her. This moment was making him regret his deception from last night even more. Here he was, being sentimental after he plotted the whole scheme to manipulate her into giving back the feathers. And yet, the young Vitaiim desperately hoped she would forgive him for it, once it was all said and done.

At the mention of the soul, Hanryyt shrugged. "I don't know. If we go into those woods without permission, a confrontation with somebody will happen due to deeply disrespecting our hosts... and hostesses." Why are you saying that when you already disrespected one hostess with your manipulation? His face went downcast for the rest of his statements. "I feel so useless, right now. Healing and finding souls is Saulkavt's area of expertise. It is what all Exorcim are made for, the reason for their immortality. Vitaiim like me, on the other hand, are meant to heal the body and mind with our powers and medicines, one of our primary duties as Monks and Nuns. I came with Saulkavt to keep him alive should the need for physical healing arise. He is not the most disciplined Sacriran you'll meet, but his heart is in the right place. I doubt he will give up the chase, having been after that one soul since Adarani created his race, in the first place. This is his big break, his chance to prove to himself he is up for such tasks."

----

Adarani just finished collecting the ashes when the twin deities approached her. She payed attention to their request and their offer of repaying a debt. At their statements, She turnd around to respond. "If you are looking for Adarani, that would be me. And, just once, I wish other deities would stop thinking they owe me anything for my help. I help others because I enjoy it. I could never ask for anything in return. I shall bless those mortals, if you'll permit it."

A smile came on both of their faces as Adarani accepted and said her own name, their lapse in judgement temporarily forgotten and replaced with the feelings of love that she represented. ”We are sorry if we offended you with our offer to return what was offered. It is merely in our nature to present something of equal worth when asking for something.” As soon as they finished speaking they offered the two cocoons protecting their creations to Adarani, now that they had heard her say her own name and having come a little bit closer to understanding her dominion over Love, Healing and Fertility they knew they need not fear that this Goddess would recklessly destroy or harm their as of yet fragile creations. ”Although you say you would wish for nothing in return, we will teach these creatures to respect the goddess who selflessly gave them a gift we could not hope to match.” They said in unison, smiles even wider now that their creatures might finally be complete.

But even before Adarani could finish their smiles turned slightly sour, accompanied by the ghost of a frown on their faces. ”Although it is not our place and indeed it might be an arrogant and useless gesture to one such as yourself, we would like to give you a few words of advice, if only for the selfish reason of clearing our own conscience on simply accepting a gift. We would stress that you be careful with your kindness, for there will forever be something that is indifferent to such kindness, and would seek to abuse it. Perhaps what we are trying to say is this: Be careful you do not one day give away something that you could not afford to miss in the name of kindness and helpfulness.” Their frown then turned deeper and something approaching shame crept into their eyes. ”We apologize, it is not our place to judge or second guess you on such things, for surely you have considered this yourself. We ask for your forgiveness.”

Kalimdor came to stand beside his sister, Adarani. He placed one armored hand gently on her shoulder as he let his lighting filled gaze fall upon her however the anger and disgust shown in them when he was waiting to see if Jute would dare attack him was all gone replaced now by a warmth of understanding for his sister.

"Judge them not sister. Tis their way. Equallis and Disballis are the Twin Scales that bind this world. It is through them that balance truly finds it's way. To ask them not to repay you for a gift would be as if to ask you to deny the gift of love or to allow a wounded mortal to perish at your feet."

Kalimdor's gaze flicked up to his siblings with a tender smile and a nod.

"As for my blessing you have it. Those of your brood that will take up the sword will have the blessing of the God of War so long as they honor me in combat. That is my vow."

Kalimdor removed his hand and took a step away, ready to leave this place when he paused and turned to look at the ashes in Adarani's hand. The remnants of the she devil that was his sister. He looked upon it with cold finality. This was the end of any who dared to challenge the gods. The power of Nylia had struck the beast down before she ever dared raise a hand to the War God. Merciful, Kalimdor would have thought should she have lived. Yet the Goddess of Vengeance was not in the business of letting those who offend her off with many warnings. In her last moments the winged one spouted mad lies of the foolishness of the Gods, the unimportance of mortals and how she was the only one who truly understand the meaning in life for she sought only survival. The concept made Kalimdor pity the beast for truly only an animal would value naught but it's own survival. To live out each day merely making it to see the sun rise on the following day. Tis was the way of bears and birds not men and not Gods. There was so much more to life that creature did not understand, love, brotherhood, glory, friendship and even a good meal. How lost within crazed thoughts must one be to not see that. Especially when your kin are the masters of such ideals. Pity indeed.

Kalimdor rose Ragnarok above his head and the sky answered. Thunder rolled as the lightning came.

"Farewell, seek me out in the lands that bare my name should you have need me."

And with the lighting struck the God of War and in an instant he was gone.

As the Gods finally dealt with Jute Durotan had received an unexpected new guest to his clan. The magnificent creatures that were sent by the Earth Mother were to accompany Durotan back and live amongst he and his people. Truly this was a good sign that the Earth Mother would see him succeed in his task. Durotan bowed his head respectfully to the child of the Earth Mother before getting to his feet.

"It would be an honor to me and my ancestors to have you among my people."

Now on his feet Durotan could not help but allow a serene smile to show on his rough features as he then began to lead his new guests back to his clan. The walk back to his clan was quite and full of promise. Upon arriving the three found a camp of slumbering orcs. Only but a few sentries were still awake. At the sight of the two radiant beings behind the watchmen gasped but a hand form Durotan silenced. His people needed their sleep after the long trek. They would get to meet the guests tomorrow. For now they would seek the rest they so rightfully deserved. Durotan turned to address the children of the Earth Mother.

"Please forgive them, they are weary from travels and the dangers of the road. In the morning they will be introduced to you properly. For now I will let them sleep. They've all earned it."

With that Durotan gave them both a reverent bow of respect before turning to his own bedroll and laying his head down finally.

Adarani now felt bad for saying what she did. She never meant to come across as offended. Listening to all three say their piece, she nodded with a sad look on her face. "I... understand." What do I do, now? Kalimdor left before she could say anything else. Eventually, her smile showed gentleness as her eyes expressed a tiny feeling of regret. Holding onto the cocoons gently, she closed her eyes and allowed the Paradise light within her to flow. She then focused the fertility part of it onto the cocoons, which took a moment. At last, they were blessed. The Elder Goddess of Love handed the blessed cocoons back to the twin deities prior to giving a nod.

"I'm... sorry for sounding rude."

-----

Hanryyt did not expect Nala to turn him around and try to reason with him. She truly was a kind woman. This isn’t one of her tricks, is it? However, if she was actually considering helping with finding the lost soul, then she would have to be telling the truth. A smile came to the young Vitaiim’s features, his sadness hidden by a display of gladness. He still had regret, which would be dealt with when there was time.

Just as he nodded and turned around, Saulkavt already knocked. “Is it okay to come in, Hanryyt?”

“Yes, it’s perfectly fine.”

The Exorcim entered the room with a piece of paper. “Well, it seems waiting did help, after all. I sensed the soul, and now we should head on over to the river at the center of the village. The locals are freaked out and don’t know what to make of that kid.” He let out a chuckle. “The funniest part is, several warriors who spotted him come out of the woods have tried killing him without realizing he is already dead. He’s laughing his head off as we speak.”

The thought the incident made Hanryyt smile more genuinely, now. “Well, now is your chance.”

“Don’t you remember what you agreed to help with?” A smirk entered the Exorcim’s features. “There is still the matter of a possible confrontation, after all, and I hear you’re pretty good in a fight like you are with healing. Not that we want a fight, though that is a possibility.”

Hanryyt turned to look at Nala. “If you want to come watch this, you can. Then, we’ll be able to head to New Sacrira. Are you up for it?”

The Twin Scales, after saying their piece, went back to smiling and looking in wonder at the miracle that they were seeing before them. The Goddess known as Adarani was nothing like how they expected her to be, yet she did more than they could have hoped. Their eyes nearly grew three sizes and rolled out of their heads as they saw their creations finally be completed, their delicate balance completed and with it, finally given life. They took their little creations, that were now finally stirring in their cocoons and smiled at Adarani. ”Please, do not apologize, like you, we did not know of your nature of giving things freely out of the kindness in your heart. In fact, with your apology joined to ours, we have achieved a quite interesting balance of exchange, we do believe.” They smiled with kindness, or at least Equallis did, Disballis made a good effort, however. And nodded to the goddess before looking back at their creations, as if entranced.

So entranced were they, that the appearance of Nightling barely shook them, instead focusing on the small little creatures, stirring in their cocoons. Although they could hear Nightling’s words, they paid little attention to them, after all, the ashes were not theirs to give. Only when Nightling broke a branch off their bodies and disappeared back in the hole did they finally look up, seemingly unbothered by the loss of a branch, which grew back shortly. ”Is that gonna be a thing of his now? Just showing up and taking bits and pieces? Sheesh, talk about tiresome.” Disballis said, seemingly more irritated that Nightling would disturb their observation of their mortals than the loss of her brother’s branch. ”Let him be, surely he needed a back scratcher, and I shall not mourn the loss of my branch were it used for such ends.” Equallis responded, seemingly ignorant to Nightling’s true nature. ”Seriously? Y’know, he’s gonna eat the damn thing right? That’s what those weird things of his did to yer feet.” Disballis answered, exasperation in her voice. ”Then my branch has returned to the circle of life and all is well. I hope the sad creature will find some balance upon eating it.” Equallis sagely said, as if he had just laid down some profound wisdom. Disballis could only shake her head and mutter expletives at her brother.
