God Name:Kallian
Titles:The Honest, The True, The Child
Creed:'Speak true, be true'
Gender:Female
Alignment:True Neutral
Portfolios Governed:Loyalty, Truth and Contracts
Description: Kallian stands smaller than most of her fellow Gods and is slight of frame, partially why she is sometimes known as 'The Child'. She had pale, almost white, blonde hair and large blue eyes. She is often depicted in a white dress with blue honesty blooms adorning her hair.
Territories: Where folk are loyal, the truth is free, and a word is honoured
Symbol: Kallian's symbol is two hands reaching to clasp one another. Another less common symbol is that of a Lunaria Rediviva bloom.
Personality: Kallian carries herself with a child-like innocence and wonder. She tries to see the best in people, whether their intentions bode well or otherwise. As the Goddess of Truth, Kallian is unable to lie, but she does often look for ways to bend the truth to soften its blow if people may be hurt by it.
Equipment: Kallian generally appears as a young woman in her late teens or early twenties. She carries a seal on her hip for officiating contracts.

So begins...

Birth was different for every god. Some experienced pain, others euphoria. As the divine seeds hatched across the Middle Realm, divine creatures of every shape and size appeared. Soon after came creation in abundance. Like an artist and a blank canvas, the gods filled every thing they saw with their own essence and creativity.

One such Goddess walked through a wide open field. She smiled, enjoying the warmth of the day and smell of the earth beneath her feet and the flowers that stretched out as far as her eyes could see. She marveled at all the beauty around her and wished more than anything that she could add to it, somehow without changing what she could see and smell. Suddenly, a bright light shone around her fingertips and she found herself holding an odd device. A Harp. As soon as the thought appeared she knew that that was what the instrument was. With it, she could give more beauty, so she did.

She played for awhile, simply letting the Music flow from her fingertips, her eyes closed in rapt concentration. When she finally opened her eyes, she saw dozens of creatures around and on her. She giggled and the creatures responded with chittering, peeping, and other sounds. "Such marvelous creatures. You must be hungry..." And her hand was filled with seeds and nuts, enough to feed the small animals easily. She watched them for some time, simply in awe of their grace and natural beauty.

She decided that she needed to see more, to experience everything the world had to offer, perhaps to make something new as well, if the whim took her. So she set off to explore, wondering at every new creature and plant she saw, reveling in the changes of the day and night, and playing music and dancing when the silence did not suit her.

She was nothing; an idea floating beyond the realms of the living. An idea grew from a spark and took its roots in the world. She pushed through the walls of the world and fell to the ground. She stood on shaky legs, feeling the sun warm her back and the grass tickle her feet. She stretched her arms before her, turning them every which way. She had a body. The thought occurred to her newly formed mind. She was an idea made real. A brilliant-white, netted dress fell about her body as she walked through this new land. She swept her hair to one side, idly braiding it as she walked. If she had a body, she would be in need of a name. And yet, an idea needed no name.

Ah, but my dear, you are not an idea.

Kallian sighed as she tied her hair. What idea was she? She was an id- she was real, and solid, not an abstract. She was truth, her idea had been Truth. And yet she felt she was much more besides that. Something that didn't have ties to this world yet. It would come to her in time. This world was new to her, she had no wish to hurry through. Stop. Slow. Take it all in. Trees grew and flowers bloomed. This world had a beauty to it that her eyes reveled in. On a distant breeze, she heard a gentle, inviting noise. Soft and melodic. Music. There was so much that was new. From somewhere else, another note sounded. This one was deeper, less inviting. It spoke of discord and fear, where the other spoke of harmony. Kallian walked slowly towards the gentle music. It was a truth that could not be ignored that this world was not simply beauty and harmony. Beneath the surface was ugliness and discord.

As Kallian came closer to the sweeter music, she saw that the sun shone down on on two others like her, moving with joy and abandon together. One played while she moved. The other simply followed her intuition as she moved. It was glorious to watch and know that she was not alone in this world. She had...what did she have? This world posed too many questions that she did not seem to have the answers to. They existed. For now, that was enough for her to be able to comprehend. Kallian took a seat further down the hill and watched the two dance together.

It was a strange thing, this noise. They still couldn't entirely comprehend its meaning or it's purpose, just why exactly was it filling the air and why? Did it change things or control things? It wasn't power at least in a way that Alo could properly comprehend, it was just noise that seemed to follow a strange melody and rhythm and it shifted and changed according to the whim of that strange, slender being in the valley beyond. Before the truth of the noise could begin to come to them their understanding of the world was shattered once again, this time not by noise but by sight.

It came slowly to their comprehension but it seemed that no longer was this strange noise maker alone in the open grass but rather now they were joined by another, this new stranger seemed so similar to the first and yet seemed so different. They moved and shifted in a way that seemed utterly beyond Alo, a sense of grace and ease that was beyond the limitations of this heavy body of rock and flame. Strange then that they would look upon such things and wonder at the possibilities of what was allowed to them, these strangers seemed almost bound to an almost weak looking form that was so utterly different from their own that it seemed impossible that the two could ever exist in the same realm and yet they still did not seem willing to warp themselves to fit the raw strength of fire and earth... Could they simply not take such a form? Could Alo themselves take on a more elegant form? Were they bound to the earthen form or could they manifest in the flames?

Many questions would have bloomed had it not been for the arrival of yet another stranger, this time however they made their presence much more well known. It was a shard of purest light that shattered the sky that this newcomer stepped from or... Was formed from. At first Alo thought this a challenger to their dominance of the mighty flame, yet fortunately it seemed this was not the case as the being did not seem to be the master of fire but rather the phantom of fires might. Lacking the strength or the power or the heat they seemed to be left with little more than the strength of fires light and indeed this aspect seemed to permeate their entire being, their body seemed to be moulded by the light as Alo was by stone, golden skin and golden hair and a golden soul that seemed to bubble with expressions that were beyond the primal form of Alo.

"Beautiful, no?" It took Alo a second to realise that this strange being had... Spoken to them, a form of communication that surprisingly they could actually understand even if they didn't realise at first the meanings behind the words. Another second passed as Alo also realised that this strange being of light was actually able to withstand the mighty flames that surrounded the stones of their body, the flame licked and warped around the stranger and yet did not burn them as it did the green grass.

A voice slowly built from within the heart of Alo's stoney form. It was as though the hissing of fire and the tumbling of stone and the crackling of embers on dry wood all rolled into one shifting mass that created a strange, almost unnatural voice that possessed no accent, no true inflection or emotion, just pure simple words.
"Beauutifuuul... A strange... Word.... I do not... Do not understand...." Alo watched silently as it tried to understand just what exactly was unfolding before them. Grace... Beauty? Strange concepts that made little sense in the mind of the primordial God, these fellows seemed to understand what they were and their connections to each other and yet they were left out of this circle of knowledge. Why? Was there some fundamental part of their being that made them as different to these other creatures as their forms were? It made little sense to their rapidly forming mind.

Alo watched as yet another joined their number, though this time instead of making their way over to one group or another they seemed content to sit in between them and watch the noise and the movement alone. Were there many more of their kind out there? Just what was going on in this strange realm of existence? "What... Are we? Who are... You? You have... Light but no fire... Image without power... I am Alo... I am fire and power and earth and strength... And I do not understand.... What am I seeing before... Us? What are they... Doing? Who are they?"

Kassius hummed as yet another joined their number. It was yet another of those beings who were not quite like him? Females. Women. Girls. As opposed to males, men, and boys. The words sprang to his mind unbidden, but they felt right and he felt himself chuckle in delight. He had a feeling he quite liked the differences between them. This one looked different. Smaller, perhaps younger somehow. He grinned winningly as she sat down before turning to the person beside him.

He was so different from himself and the others and yet he felt a kinship to him. He could sense heat and light emitting from him, but it was different, more harsh and violent. Not necessarily more powerful. Rather, it felt more... Destructive? Was that the word. He listened to him speak, the words coming less naturally to him than they had to Kassius.

"Beauutifuuul... A strange... Word.... I do not... Do not understand...."

He hummed.

"I find delight in them," he said slowlyl, trying to put his feelings into words, "The sound makes my light burn brighter and my.... Laughter erupt in delight. Their forms are softer than my own. Our own. But such difference only makes this day shine brighter."

When he saw the harpist move herself in a strange motion to him, he smiled and copied her before experimentally waving his hand, causing the light of the him in the sky to illuminate them further.

"What... Are we? Who are... You? You have... Light but no fire... Image without power... I am Alo... I am fire and power and earth and strength... And I do not understand.... What am I seeing before... Us? What are they... Doing? Who are they?"

"I do not know who they are. Or you are. Fire, power, earth, and strength. Yes. You are. I am light and laughter, joy and growth. You, I feel connected to. Like we are meant to work together. You... Form. So that I... Light and grow."

He directed his hands to the flowers around them, causing his light to shine down upon them and suddenly, they opened up, showcasing their beauty as a delightful aroma wafted around them. Kassius inhaled it.

"I am Kassius. The Sun."

The dance was enhancing, fun, beautiful. Cela. Her name was Cela. She giggled at the realization. Cela quite liked the harpist, drawn so easily into the flow. That winding, streaming spin of wonder brought them closer to two others. At first the fun remained. Then, suddenly, Cela found her steps halting and she shuddered to a stop.

The two new beings, she both recognized them and didn't, had paths springing out from them. It hurt her head to look at all the things they might, one day, do. Her body twisted, strange, attempting to move with the flow, the primal, and the sun. She couldn't do all three at once and a fourth being approached.

Cela drew in a deep breath, forcing a smile onto her face as the harpist continued to dance. All the possibilities swirled around her, all the movements begged to be followed. Her body stained under the pressure and she lowered herself to the ground. Laughing and clapping along with the music, she managed to hide the pain.

In this case, however, the pain was good. It told her something useful: she now had a goal.

Eventually the music did end, though while she played she enjoyed the lights and the rumbling from the other two, until she realized that they were...talking? She wanted to try it with them all! She finished with a flourish and smiled at the Dancer. "Thank you for joining me. Whoever you are. And hello!" She looked up at the other two gods. "Mymy how powerful, how big, how interesting!" She walked around them, curious and inspecting them all. Then she noticed the other goddess, sitting quietly on the hillside. She waved her hand "Hello to you too!"

She laughs. "Where did all of you come from? Did...Did my music make you?" She looked at her Harp in wonder.

"I do not know who they are. Or you are. Fire, power, earth, and strength. Yes. You are. I am light and laughter, joy and growth. You, I feel connected to. Like we are meant to work together. You... Form. So that I... Light and grow."

Alo's consciousness twisted as they tried to understand this strange creature. It seemed that they were indeed right, that this being had the image but not the strength, the idea but not the power. Strange that such a thing could exist and yet be so... Insignificant and important at the same time, perhaps the two truly were bound, if fire sprung light into being then it seemed one would cause the other to exist... But did light create fire? They doubted it highly.

"I am Kassius. The Sun." For the first time Alo noticed... The openness above them, the blue sky that seemed to stretch into oblivion and ran for ever. How could something so vast exist and be so beyond their understanding, if they reached out they could feel it all... The ground under their feet, the shifting of the earth, the pattering of feet against its mighty flesh and yet when they reached up as far as they could go... They felt spires of earth and bastion of stone reaching far into the sky and then... Nothing. It confused them, to have this vast open space so high above and be beyond reach or understand and that confusion turned to open fear, a shudder of flame that sputtered across them and shifted at the edges. The fire that had been happily enveloping and running over the bare stone of Alos form now rippled in uncertain waves as though it was caught in a strong breeze.

"The sun... Above... Too high... I cannot.... Cannot reach it... I feel its fire... But not its earth... Too high above... Darkness... Nothingness above... Terror above, it is too high..."

Before Alo could be truly consumed by their unrestrained dread at the sheer vast expanse of open air that was the sky above, they were approached by the strange creature that seemed so similar to Kassius, the one that had been creating the music. Alo took a second to try to analyse them, in an effort to take their mind away from the terrifying sky. They seemed... Emotive, happy, joyful even that there would be others like them. Indeed it seemed Kassius too was happy at the exact same prospect, so why didn't Alo feel anything? There was a warmth, a strange certainty at knowing they were not alone in this world but nothing that would incite laughter, was it possible they couldn't feel anything like that? It was clear that something separated the beings physically so why not mentally as well.

"Where did all of you come from? Did...Did my music make you?" Did the music make them? No... No it couldn't have, Alo had existed before they had even realised they could hear... But where did they come from? Something different from the others or of the same stock? Or could it simply be that because these creatures were not connected to something to vast and powerful that their forms had taken different paths... Was it because they themselves were connected to the primal forces of nature that their body followed suit... And were they bound to just this form alone? Alo resolved to discover the answers to that themselves, but first they had to know just what this creature that made noise was.
"I do not know where we... Came from... I came from earth.... I am earth.. Everything around... Us is me... And not me. Fire and earth, power and strength.... Alo, I am Alo... I made myself... And control myself... I do not understand... What was the... Noise you were... Making? Why... Why are you not... As I am? Why am I... Different?"

ImageDarkness...Endless darnkess. That was all she could see around her as her eyes fluttered open.

Groping in the darkness until it a line of light broke through, growing and growing until it was all that remained.

Freedom

She knew not of which she came or where she was. She looked, multiple eyes darting every which way, not a one missing a thing.

She saw a pale white ball hanging from a cave wall, attached to stalactites with thin white lines. Within the ball, was a long crack down the middle. She stepped forward. Eight long legs penetrated the ground with each step, a large sack at her backside swaying to and fro as she moved toward the ball. She touched the thin strings. Rubbing them between two long dainty pale blue fingers. Sat on the tips of those fingers with long black fang like nails.

She cocked her head as instinct took over, as she began weaving the white lines together.

Before long, that ball became a web, stung across the cave wall, each connected to the other. She stood back and admired her work, until she heard something. A voice...no, voices...and....music. She knew these words, she did not know why she knew these words but she knew them all the same.

She crawled toward the exit of the cave, the sack on her back opened, small versions of herself spilled from it, covering the cave walls. Neither of them bore the body she had, yet all bore the eight long legs.

She kept toward the voices and the music, until even more light struck her multiple eyes so she rose an arm to shield them.

Her first instinct was to shrink back into her cave, keep to herself but she was almost drawn forward. She peeked out, opening her eyes, allowing the light to ease in and that's when she saw them, creatures, bodies like her only she had more legs.

She could change this. She did not know why, but she knew she could change this. She looked down at her bare body, and then back up to the creatures that were dancing and talking among themselves, unaware of her presence. She liked this silence, she would keep it.

She relaxed her body, and soon the eight legs she once bore pulled into her body combining together to make two, toned legs, much like those she saw dancing before her. the large sack shrank into round swells at the top of her new legs and the spinnerets found a new home from between her full lips, hanging down passed her other teeth. Sure enough, she appeared much like the others, only her skin held a warm hue, her hair black as night, falling down her back. a large nest of black hair rested atop her head, which had been adorn with a crown she was not aware she was wearing, or even what it was. More words she knew the meaning of but where the knowledge came she did not know. She also found that she was not bare, not entirely, from the swell of her back and down was , but her hips were wrapped in a beaded belt, her upper body was shielded with brassiere that was held up by the cool metal around her neck. Her arms held beaded braces and ringlets all the same color and material. Was this always here or was this new? She did not know.

Soon she felt small legs crawling up her newly formed legs, and resting on her hips and on her arms. She found her progeny found a perch before dropping down, leaving black lines of silk in their wake. She cocked her head curiously, as the little creatures began to weave those lines into what her mind told her was a skirt, that brushed her newly formed feet. Those are her arms gave a similar style around the ringlets.

She appreciated this and touched the soft silk. Her tongue brushed the sharp fang like spinnerets in her mouth and wondered. She reached up with a hand and sure enough white silk pulled from her fang, she pulled and pulled until she finally bite down snapping the thread. She smiled. She liked this, before long she was weaving. She did not move to the others, she not longer wanted to. She liked the solitude.

Cela blinked as the others spoke. They could speak! It hadn't occurred to her, though she heard sound escape her throat before. The girl took a deep breath, wondering what her voice would sound like.

"I came from the River," she stated. Soft, lilting, childish. "I came from the River. I saw your Fates. I am Fate. I am River. I am Cela." She giggled. Such a strange way of speaking. Would she always speak such. "I heard Music, I saw the Harpist. My body moved with her Flow." Oh, this was so fun! She wanted to speak less haltingly, though, less airily. How did she make that happen?

Her gaze wandered up toward the sky and she watched the clouds for a time. They gave her joy. "Good to meet you, Sun. Fire and Earth, Power and Strength." Her speech still sounded strange. She didn't like it and frowned. The girl opened her mouth to speak again, but saw the words that would flow before she spoke them, so she closed it again. Again, she opened her mouth and saw her words, again she was dissatisfied. A third time proved correct and she smiled as she spoke. "We are all different for we all represent the differences that make up this world." The smile grew into a grin. Her speech was not so terrible to her ears now.

Fate laughed and stood, meaning to take a step toward the other two, but found her movements disjointed again, as if many forces were acting upon her. She frowned once more. "I can see the steps I will take but I cannot take them yet..."

The Dark One made her way across the field, only stopping to blow horn every few steps. She was unaware of the world around, her eyes see only darkness and her other senses were busy taking pleasure in the madness she was creating. She would be revealed to the Nameless Regent first. She ungratefully pranced past the Regent, but she did not notice it. It could hear her top half joyously laughing, while the bottom made dreadful monstrous noises.

She grabbed her horn and blew it again. She was getting closer to the group who were meeting each other across hills. They would be able fainlty hear the deep sinister noise of the horn, but they were not close enough to see the horn player.

The new-born rats were seeking food among the rocks, and soon settled on the diseased carcasses of their brothers. The Regent watched, head tilted as their creations feasted. They had been born into a callous, uncaring world, they realised. Survival seemed to depend on sacrifice, on decisions made in the moment. Then, across the rocks crawled a giant for-legged creature, the top of which was quite similar to the Regent in some ways. They continued to watch as the monstrosity passed, grasping a horn which they recognised as the instrument of madness that had affected their rats– just in time to shield the tiny children still gnawing on the rotting bones of their relatives as the thing blew its horn again.

Slowly, the Regent began to walk after the monstrosity. Their bare feet were unsteady on the rocks, but soon the ground faded into grass as they came to a hill. They were not far behind the hornblower, and so felt confident enough to take a moment– feel the dirt and grass underneath their toes. Worms and many-legged creatures were already burrowing into the soft soil, making their home in the dark. This was good, the Regent decided. The children had found somewhere to be happy. They continued their walk up the hill, having lost track of the creature they were following– instead focusing on the voices ahead. Carefully, they moved, and soon saw shapes ahead– making soft noises at each other in a curious display of communication.

However, they decided, they did not feel more at home on the grass than they had on the rocks. Their children could live anywhere, but the Regent was more fussy than that. They stared into the distance, conjuring thoughts of comfort in their mind. On the horizon a poisonous swamp grew: putrid water poured from the earth and rotted the trees. The Regent narrowed their eyes and looked, and knew home lay within reach.

"The Sun. Earth, Fire, River, Fate." She listened raptky to the others. "The noise? It was...me. I am Music. And...Satisfaction. I am...I feel the Flow of everything, I can see change...or I want it. I have a name too! Akileia! It's everything I am. I just...I *know* it."

She patted the big stone creature on the arm and winced a bit. It was hot...and that *hurt.* But she filed that knowledge away for later. "You might be different...But. I think we all are different." She waved at her form. "I can change. I can *not* look like this.

She fell forward onto four legs, fur rapidly growing into patches. The others could see that the only things that hadn't changed were her ears and tail, which looked much more suited to the form of the four legged beast they saw now, purring and sitting on the grass. "Can you change? I can feel the power in you, it isn't just still...it can flow t-"

She turned as a noise that was most definitely not music came from south of their little group. It frightened her, but intrigued her all the same. "Wha?"

There was a song in the distance.

This song was not like the song of the flying creatures that perched on the metal God's horns, though that too was lovely in its own cacophonous way. These sounds seemed to hold a consistent pattern, rising and falling at a set rate. This was quite interesting to the God as they had yet to come across a creature able to make a noise so odd. This, of course, required investigation, and so the God prepared to set off towards the noise but paused.

A God. That is what they were, wasn't it?

The armored figure pondered on this for a moment. The thought was foreign to them and yet it felt right at the same time. They had no frame of reference for what they were, and yet they knew. Intrinsically they had known what they were and their purpose without needing to be told.

Could there be others like themselves? There simply had to be, for while their purpose was clear it was singular in the grand scheme of existence. Sure the metal God was not alone in overseeing this world. And yet in this another thought came unbidden. What if these others saw fit to move beyond their given purpose, or worse yet shunned it altogether? A rather negative thought so soon after the onset of existence to be sure, but one not to be ignored. The armored figure wanted to believe that such a thing could not be true, but their purpose told them otherwise.

And in their conviction demanded that they take action if such a thing came to be.

With this in mind, the God set off. The birds perched on their metal horns squawked and fluttered loud, clearly not used to such movement from something they deemed a perch. The God rumbled softly, the sound almost apologetic. This seemed to calm the birds and they settled back on their perch, cooing softly. The noise grew ever closer, and with it grew an energy different from what the Metal God had experienced thus far. It brimmed with both uncertainty and great promise, and all had purpose.

The God knew that they had found others like themselves.

Cresting a hill, the metal figure came upon an open field, and it they could see other beings and they looked....odd. They were quite small as well and the metal God wondered if this was common, if this was how a God should look. But the thought was promptly dismissed. They knew their own body and what it was suited for. They were as they should be, and so too were these others as they should be. Making their way down the hill, the metal figure watched as several of the other beings moved around erratically. Another strange thing, one they definitely WEREN'T going to take part in.

Once they had closed in on the others, the armored figure considered them silently. There was no mistaking the power emanating from these beings, small as they were. Each one radiated great purpose and it put the God at ease. While sure of themselves and what they were capable of, the armored figure knew they could not see this world along Fate's path alone. The God moved to seat themselves on the grass, their large form creaking loudly as the lowered their bulk to the ground. The birds perched on the God's horns warbled loudly, some of their fluttering to settle on one of their pauldrons. A large metal claw lifted to stroke one of the birds on the head gently, and the small creature let out a soft coo. The sounds that one of the beings was creating were soothing to hear, and the God was more than happy to sit a while and listen.

First there was just a breeze, then a gust quickly turning into a solid wall of quick moving air. Among the air those capable of seeing such things would see Spirits flowing as well all surrounding a single location. The air stopped moving as a wall and began spinning in place the Spirits moving in the opposite direction as a mass of energy formed at the middle. As the energy took shape the weather in its vicinity cycled: first there was clear skies, next came the driving rain, not long after it gave way to a gentle snow, and at last it cleared once more. The spiral of wind and Sprits calmed the Spirits gathering around the newly created form until it walked through them. They snared on his body forming flowing opaque garments that billowed as though tugged at by a slight breeze.

"At last I have a solid form." The voice was fluid and to most would be smooth and soothing, perhaps even comforting. To those that had an unsound Spirit however the voice would send chills down the spine.

The god moved his new form testing it's abilities seeing just how far it could go. His body was tall and lithe yet well muscled even if they did not show greatly, his hair was a medium length all around and a light brown fading ever lighter to white in the back. He soon turned from checking the physique of the body to its senses as he listened and looked using his senses to take in his surroundings in a new way, breathing in he smelled the marvelous smell of large fields full of wild flowers and grass, he saw wisp of clouds skirting through the sky as the sun shone through them, he heard the gentle breeze running over the field the nearby tree swaying ever so slightly under its weight.

Stretching out his senses further he picked up the sound of strings, though which ones he could not tell, being played in the distance the breeze bringing the sound to him. Interested to greet others in his newfound form he set off to discover the source of the pleasant sound.

Finally within distance to be able to properly see the two dancing in the field one playing what he now was able to see was a harp he advanced on. As he approached he noticed the playing stop as the dancing ladies moved over to converse with the others on the hill. Still eager to meet others in his no longer spectral form he pressed ever on.

A few minutes later he was close enough to hear idle chatter though still unable to make out the words he called out changing the breeze to go from his back so as to carry his voice to the gathering "Hello there. May I come over and join you?" He speaks with a friendly tone as he continues moving forward waiting to hear a response from what he now notices is a gathering of gods. His face is not unkind but it is hard to focus on as it does shift with a spectral appearance making any small expressions hard to read, yet at this time he wore an easy to read smile his bright blue eyes shining and his steps light as a feather.

"Different, I am different... Yes, I am not like these others, but how is this? What divided them in such a way that their very beings were warped so differently from my own? Am I wrong? Were they born right and I formed wrong? Or... Am I just another aspect of this world and my body has followed after? The... sun, that light in the sky... I can feel its fire, its might... Yet that is not mine, that light belongs to... This other being... And they are crafted from its light.... Perhaps that is it, our forms are dictated by our power."

Alo watched, fascinated at the sight of the strange being who had introduced themselves as Akileia shifted on the ground, their form warped and shifted until it looked far more like one of those creatures that had fled at the sight of their mighty fire. Yet this small creature did not flee from the fire, rather they seemed to hold the same intelligence of Akileia. Strange, that they would be able to shift so effortlessly into something so small and fragile and not be affected by it... Were they all able to do the same or were they bound to one lone form?
"Can you change? I can feel the power in you, it isn't just still..." Alo didn't even notice Akileia's voice trail off into silence, too caught up now in the possibilities that stood before them they didn't even pay attention to the world around them, the grim bellowing of the horn fell upon deaf ears without even awareness that it had passed.

Gently at first a single red hot rock fell away from Alo's bulky shoulder, thumping down into the grass and hissing at the open chill of the air. Then another cracked and fell away and then another. In a matter of seconds the rocks began to fall faster and faster still until they were pouring down in a cascade that rumbled and roared as burning stone rolled over burning stone and fell down the hill leaving a trail of blackened grass in its destructive path. But as the statue like body of Alo fell apart and scattered down the earth the flame remained as though fixed in place, though there was nothing to fuel it the fire sustained itself and burned bright and hot in midair. For a moment the aura of fire remained just as that, a burning open flame until it shifted and wrapped around itself, growing thicker in the middle until it was a body of pure orange. Quicker than it had with stone a pair of arms sprouted from the body of the floating fire as did a pair of thin legs. Where before there had been no head made of stone or fire now sprouted a bulb that quickly took shape into something resembling a head, wreathed in a crown of dancing fire.

This new form of pure fire was far slimmer than Alo's form of stone and flame, smaller and more lithe though it was still broader than the females before them, Alo's new form seemed hardly taller than five and a half feet. Slowly, like a blind man opening his eyes for the first time, twin points of blue fire began to grow just above the centre of the phantom face, a pair of eyes that shifted slightly as they looked back and forwards, this was the first time Alo was looking through a directed point rather than through the entirety of their being and the whole world seemed... Different, everything was at a different level now and more in focus somehow, as though everything was tighter in their awareness.

Alo gently raised one hand above their face, turning it around to inspect it properly. Three fingers and a thumb twisted effortlessly yet strangely there was a faint crackle when they moved, as though they were burning up the air itself. Alo looked down at their other hand to see that it too was the same as the other yet mirrored, it seemed they did indeed have the ability to change their form and dictate its appearance.
"I can chan..." Alo paused suddenly in surprise, not only had their body shifted and warped but so had their voice, now it had lost the rough tones of stone and the rumbling of rocks crushing together, now it carried a low hiss and an echo that bounced twice around their body when they spoke. "I can change my form... It's so simple." Slowly Alo turned around to look at the others gathered around, they seemed so different even in this form that was made to look like them. Even with Alo's attempts to look the same as the others it seemed beyond them.

A thought came to their head suddenly, they were gathered here but why? Something had drawn them into being and yet all seemed to be confused at just what exactly this something was... They were all as new as they were Alo realised, none of them truly having been.... In being before this moment... "What are we? Why are we?"

The music stopped and The Harpist looked to the two Gods on the hill. Kallian studied them. They were different to her, in a way the other two were not. Their power was undeniable. It almost rolled from them in waves. She was safe here. Power did not always mean destruction.

"Hello to you too!"

Kallian realised she had been seen. She waved to The Harpist and The Dancer, slowly rising from her resting place to join her brethren. "Where did all of you come from? Did...Did my music make you?" The Harpist asked. Kallian thought for a moment, turning the question over in her head. Had the music drawn her to this world?

"I do not know where we... Came from... I came from earth.... I am earth.. Everything around... Us is me... And not me. Fire and earth, power and strength.... Alo, I am Alo... I made myself... And control myself... I do not understand... What was the... Noise you were... Making? Why... Why are you not... As I am? Why am I... Different?" The Rocky Titan spoke, his voice as deep and primal as the earth itself.

"I came from the River," The Dancer spoke. Her voice was soft, as though she might be afraid to disturb something, ""I came from the River. I saw your Fates. I am Fate. I am River. I am Cela. I heard Music, I saw the Harpist. My body moved with her Flow." Cela greeted the men before them. Kallian still pondered The Harpist's question. What had drawn her to this world? The music seemed as good an anchor as any.

"The Sun. Earth, Fire, River, Fate." The Harpist spoke, disturbing Kallian's thoughts. "The noise? It was...me. I am Music. And...Satisfaction. I am...I feel the Flow of everything, I can see change...or I want it. I have a name too! Akileia! It's everything I am. I just...I *know* it."

Cela and Akileia. Kallian committed those names to her memories. They seemed good people, even if Cela seemed a little stilted in her approach. Seeing everything could not be easy. Kallian watched as Akileia turned into a furred creature. Could they all do that? Kallian was in no particular hurry to find out. She liked this form. What if she became stuck in a form that she didn't like? Kallian stood back as the Earth shifted to Fire. No, she was quite content with this form, delicate as it was.

The dark noise sounded again and Kallian looked beyond the valley. "There is a darkness in this world, as there must be to keep the balance." Kallian saw another being on the hillside. This one was large and armoured, different again from the ones she had found thus far. What was to be held accountable for their differences? A quirk of fate? Perhaps there would be much that they would not know about this world. She was Truth and something else, something that was still beginning to form, she did not need armour or the mighty form of the earth to do her bidding. Truth was its own weapon and armour. She did not need to wear great metal plates to shield her. Not yet anyway.

The seas churned and beneath the waves, something began to take shape. A man, not quite suited to earth or sea alone, grew from the depths. He twisted into life, taking a deep breath, his lungs easing as they filled. A trident was in his hand. He looked at the tool, wondering what he might use it for. And then he looked to himself. His torso was bare, his skin dark, gradually turning to green scales that extended into a tail. There was a weight to his head as he turned in the water. He reached up and felt the hair atop his head. Dark too. Was he darkness? No, he had been born to the sea. The sea was his kingdom, and yet he was more. There was an irresistible pull to the surface. Karam swam up, ever upwards until he broke the surface.

His lungs screamed. The air was wrong. This was wrong. The water. We need the water. We need- The gills on his neck closed as he changed. He could breath this air without them, but beneath the surface, he would need them. The sky above him was bright. It would not always be. Perhaps that was his purpose, to provide light in the darkness. The pull was still there. Pulling him forward from the water. There was something else to be discovered. His tail shifted into legs as the water became shallower. A light armour clothed him as he left the ocean. The sand sunk beneath his feet. As it shifted to solid ground, Karam found his movements easier.

He traveled, following the pull, trusting it to guide him, whether to the terrible noise or from it, he didn't know, but he followed it. He came to a valley where others dwelled. Earth and Sun stood on the hill. His opposites and equals. He felt kinship to them. Without one, the other was obsolete. A lightness filled him as he approached the gathering. One of their number, a fair haired woman, saw his approach and her face seemed to clear.

Kallian turned back to the group as Karam approached. She knew a part of her had been missing and now she was almost whole. She was Loyalty and Truth. Two ideas bonded together. "What are we? Why are we?" The Fire asked.

"I do not know, my friend. Perhaps we will never why we are. As for what we are, I cannot say. I know I am an idea given form. But you are solid, different. The Earth and Fire are not abstract. They simply are."

The fall of such silence on the ruined city was enough to put the dead to shame, as she looked out over the view of such lost glory, Alteez felt something in her well up. It was a deep lamentation for the past lives ruined in such a great city, Her memories drifted of the years that she had seen this city in its prime.

In sight the city became less of a disheveled hell, and more of a paradise. Pillar upon pillar raised along cobblestone causeways as homes piled up into small manors that house her faithful, the smell of sweets on the wind as she could hear the sound of children playing at the base of her temple. It was beautiful once gain, and grew ever more so as she descended the stairs down into the main building. The seat of the exact same throne she had seen constructed, and ruled from for so long. Though short years in her existence, what appeared as a blink in her eyes, were the lives of hundreds through the years.

She looked on as the throne room was filled by an inumiral amount of lives, all in attendance as the king walks down the stairs one last time behind her, and she greets him as though an old man would a happy memory. She easily remembers the day she granted him her last blessing, and allowed him to return to his youth. But even now she can see it as her eyes scan the horizon of faces, several wore worried stares, and even his sons were ambivalent about the situation. She should have know that this was going to be the last true day of happiness for her people.

The goddess nearly buckled to her knees as she was assaulted by the memories that followed, the eldest son digging a blade into the small of his fathers back. Then brother upon brother fell into the fray, cutting, and gouging at one another to seize power from the other. To witch the eldest was easily the most apt, having been gifted his fathers divine blade, and used it to rend life from his kin, like chaff from wheat.

The goddess feels a cold, hard emotion boil up in her breast as a tears begin to roll down her cheek. Those that struck the stone floor, pulverized sheets of rock, one after the other. Her vision was greeted by the site of several scattered bones across the temple floor, even after all this time heavy stains of dim red sat scattered all around the main pavilion, and as she rubbed the pain from her eyes she stood. Even the good king still remained somewhat all this time as well, what still existed of his long hair, and the broken blade jutting from out his lower ribs. It was all a tragedy, she had left her people behind to forget the atrocities they committed upon one another, and here she was, willingly exposing herself to such memories.

So it was that she stayed there on her knees, weeping softly for her lost champion, and her lost people. An immense event despite how low she cried, for the land began to tremble, and cry with her.

"Well, this is just magnificient if I do say so myself. Alo, Kallian, Cela, Akileia, and of course, Kassius. I do not know who we are, but I like us," Kassius announced with a wide grin. He smiled as he watched the others transform, nodding in approval at Alo. He was different, but somehow, his form fit him. Different concepts enveloped his mind: Loyalty, Truth, Earth, Fire, Light, River, Music. There was so much to comprehend, he hardly knew where to start.

"There is a darkness in this world, as there must be to keep the balance."

"Darkness? I do not yet know what that is, but I don't like the sound of it," he mused. The word filled him with a strange feeling. As though something threatened to extinguish his light, but that was impossible. Nothing could extinguish light. He blinked as he felt a presence, grinning brightly as another joined them. He felt a connection to him.

"I feel... You are another light. But different from mine. What are you?"

The smaller Gods were beginning to congregate, though the metal God could not say why. Another had joined them, this one had also taken on a flesh like form.

Quite odd really.

The armored figure's body creaked loudly as they made to get up, they had rested here for long enough. If they planned to introduce themselves to their kin fully it would have to be now. The birds perched on the God's horns warbled loudly as they were once again jostled but soon settled down. It had not taken long for the feathered creatures to grow used to what appeared to them a moving tree.Standing at their full height the metal God lumbered towards their kin.

Kin.....These beings looked nothing like them at all, but there was no mistaking what they were. Such power could not be contained within a lesser creature. Closing in on the other Gods, the armored behemoth loomed over them and regarded them silently for a moment. There seemed to be a discussion going on about each one's place in existence. They could hardly be blamed, a new existence brought on so suddenly would be confusing for anyone thought the metal God was pleased that they were beginning to work it out.

And suddenly there was a thought. What would become of them were they not able to find purpose? What then would become of them?

Shaking off the intrusive thought the armored figure straightened their posture before dipping in a slight bow. "Well met. I greet you warmly. It pleases me to know that I need not suffer this existence alone." The metal God eyed each individual somewhat critically. "There is great power here to be sure. But I sense an uncertainty along with it. Have you met with difficulty since coming into being?" A loud noise broke off the God's words and the birds settled on their horns shuffled nervously. The metal God rumbled lowly, their voice even. "Ah and so I see it,a shadow cast over this new world. As it should be."

How had they known such a thing? The armored figure was so CERTAIN of how things should be, but had no idea where such conviction came from. Only that it existed and so that it was right. And the longer they existed the more certain they became. Was this the truth of their own existence? An unwavering conviction in all things right or wrong? It had to be, they had certainly not felt anything else since they had fallen out of the sky mere hours ago. Setting aside thoughts of their own existence to examine later, the armored figure turned their attention back to the other Gods. They were being rude. "Apologies friends. I have not taken the time to introduce myself, have I?" The God tapped at their broad chest with a metal claw. "I am-"

They didn't even know their own name.

At least not in a way that could be comprehended by anyone but themselves. One of the birds perched on their horns let out a warbling cry. "Raa! Ra!" The metal God rumbled softly in agreement. "I am called Rasteva, and these are my companions. To meet you all pleases us greatly. We would know each of your names in turn. More pressing we would know what it is that causes you to be here at all. What purpose do you serve?"

"But you are solid, different. The Earth and Fire are not abstract. They simply are." Yes, it seemed almost fitting that this be the truth of it. Yet still it left Alo with more questions that needed answers. just why were there differences in their being and if all were such was it that they alone were the only ones incapable of creating a form that looked as theirs did? Try as they might the closest imitation of these slim beings that Alo could muster was this very form, the thin figure composed of dancing flame. Was it that something was wrong with them when they had been born that prevented them from seeming as the others? But then... Even Kassius managed to maintain some aspect of the others around them yet also seemed comprised of their own aspect of the world. Perhaps it was that rather than that they were failings but rather because they governed the physical realm they were given bodies to match.

"Ah and so I see it,a shadow cast over this new world. As it should be." Alo had been so caught up in their self contained thoughts that they hadn't even noticed the world around them until a new voice spoke from behind them. Rather than turning to investigate their form simply inverted as it twisted around, the points of blue fire flickered out and reemerged on the back of their head as they looked at the large figure. It reminded them of their own form of stone, large and powerful and yet still different, they were not rough hewn but rather they shone in the light and.... Reflected the world back around them, for the first time Alo could actually see themselves, though it was greatly smugged and drawn they could see the orange light bouncing back at them. It was strangely surreal to be able to see at least some part of themselves almost caught in the body of another.

"What purpose do you serve?" Again Alo had allowed themselves to be distracted and caught up with their thoughts, allowing the real world to slip by their notice. It was strange, the others didn't seem to have such difficulties, perhaps it was through the fact that they possessed physical bodies rather than shifting forms of fire that they were able to keep themselves more easily focused in one single place and time. The thought brought a strange feeling to Alo... Sadness, the more of these strange creatures they met the more they began to feel alienated from their kind, each other them seemed to be so sure and confident in their forms and proud of them and yet Alo felt so distant, called to the ground beneath and the fire above and torn between the two extremes. Even this stranger, this Rasteva who seemed to hold a form unlike the others seemed entirely sure of their might and place in the world. They may not have a thin and frail form like the others yet they seemed not to need it, their power seemed great enough that they cared little either way what one would think of them.

"I am Alo." The God spoke as they stepped closer to the large being, watching the light of their fire dance across the larger being. "I am fire and I am the earth, bound to them as they shape me.... I am... I am different from some but not from others... It is strange, I can feel... Others like us and unlike us walking on my surface. We are not alone in this world, this band of us strange beings, there are others far far away and others lurking nearby. Some of them are like you all and others still are like Kassius and I... We are not like you, not entirely. No, we are a different kind of the same thing, you are... Aspects of whim, free to hold bodies of your choosing it seems whilst Kassius and I... We are fire and light and earth and strength and bound to them, we are Primals, locked in this physical world and subject to its whims even as we control it." Alo had been turning their head to look at the others as they spoke, though they forgot to turn their body along with the head, as they finished speaking they turned back to look at Rasteva.

Slowly the Gods attention shifted to the birds that perched upon the armoured beings shoulders, companions they had called them... It felt a homely word, a strange one and for such small creatures. Yet the more that Alo looked at the world around them and to these small and weak beings the more they felt alone, comprised of nothing but elements they were the outsider here and had nothing in this world like them, no living creature could all themselves proud of the fire, nothing existed that lived from the earth alone. No, Alo was alone. But they did not have to be, gently and cautiously they cupped their hands of fire together and pictured the birds, their feathers and their beaks, their wings and even their sounds and thought hard on them, willing and straining to create something even half as similar.

There was a sudden spark in between Alo's hands which as quick as it had arrived tore open in an explosion of light and fire that caused Alo's body to rip apart into a warbling ball that reformed a few paces back. This fire was like Alo but it wasn't Alo, it was controlled by another creature though they still felt connected to it. Their attempts to create something that seemed like the armoured beings companions had been both a failure and a success, rather than create a small and weak looking creature of black feathers they had formed a far larger bird, red and orange and yellow of plumage and wreathed in fire that did not harm it. This new creature was larger and prouder than the small black birds that perched upon Rasteva and would not be bound as they would. The bird was born flying and it lived flying, moving forwards almost as soon as the explosion of fire that had birthed it had dissipated it flew once then twice around the group before heading east, flying towards to unknown horizon, a trail of flame following in its wake as it let out a single piercing cry.

Alo looked after its creation amazed as it flew away, fixed to the spot as the realisation came slowly to it, though they could not truly grasp what it was to be a creature of flesh and blood they had still made one and though it had been a failure from what they originally wished to make it had been a creature that possessed and aspect of flame. They had made life and it bared their mark for all to see, a child of fire. With the dawning realisation Alo turned to look at the rest of the group. "Life... I created life... I do not have to be alone... I do not have to be different and alone forever.
